Sherlock Holmes at Hogwarts.

Chapter 421 1 False Alarm

Chapter 421 A false alarm

On the night before the Gryffindor vs. Slytherin match, all daily activities in the Gryffindor common room ceased.

The countdown display shows a bright red "1".

With a major battle imminent and the atmosphere tense, Hermione couldn't read anymore and could only discuss things quietly with Sherlock.

"Where are Wood and Harry?"

Seeing that all the Quidditch players had returned after training, but Wood and Harry were nowhere to be seen, Ron couldn't help but look curiously at his twin brother.

“Wood took him to see Ms. Pomfrey,” Fred Weasley said, shrugging.

“I recall Harry mentioning in the last few days that his eyesight wasn’t very good,” George Weasley shrugged.

Hearing this, Sherlock, who was talking to Hermione, immediately turned to look at them.

The sharp gaze startled the Weasley twins.

Fred joked, "Hey, don't look at me like that, Sherlock."

George added with a laugh, "It feels like we did something to Harry."

"His eyesight is bad, could it be that his nearsightedness has worsened?"

Hermione couldn't help but guess, "If that's the case, then I'll have to get a new pair of glasses."

Ron stroked his chin, analyzing the situation with feigned seriousness: "If that's all there is to it, that would be fine, but I'm afraid there might be other things..."

“Ron, if you can’t speak properly, then don’t,” Ginny retorted immediately without any politeness. “Are you hoping something bad will happen to your friend?”

“Ginny, how could you say such a thing about your brother?”
I was just proposing a hypothesis.

Sherlock doesn't always say, "After eliminating all possibilities, the remaining one..."

Ron wanted to quote Sherlock Holmes, but realized he had forgotten the second half of the quote.

The scene became quite awkward for a moment.

"The last one that remains, no matter how unbelievable it may seem, must be the truth."

Sherlock finished speaking and then shook his head:
“There’s nothing wrong with Harry’s eyes, otherwise I would be able to tell in everyday life.”

"Since you've said that, there must be no problem."

Could it be... that the Slytherin snakes have secretly poisoned us again?

"Snapped!"

This time, Percy slapped Ron on the head. "Don't even mention Ginny, I want to punch you too!"

“Well done!” Fred Weasley said.

“Well done!” George Weasley said.

"What do you mean you want to beat me up? You've already done it, okay?"

Ron scratched his head, looking aggrieved. This time, no one was on his side, and he didn't argue with Percy like he used to.

Ginny snorted, about to say something, when her gaze swept across the doorway and she suddenly exclaimed excitedly, "They're back!"

Seeing Harry and Wood's expressions, even without Sherlock's deductions, everyone knew that Ron was definitely talking nonsense.

Because Wood, who was walking in front, was walking with his head held high and in high spirits.

Although Harry, who was half a step behind him, looked guilty, he couldn't hide the joy in his eyes.

"Oh my god, that really scared me!"

Before anyone could ask, Wood plopped down and began recounting their experience:
"It was a complete false alarm."

During training these past two days, Harry said his eyesight wasn't good. I didn't pay much attention at first, since he's already nearsighted!
But he said that again today, so I'm wondering if it's possible that his nearsightedness has gotten worse?
Thinking that the final was tomorrow, I still took him to see Ms. Pomfrey.

Hermione nodded; this was exactly what she had guessed, and any normal person would think the same way.

However, she couldn't help but ask:
"I think it should be fine, right? Wood, you and Harry seem to be having a good time."

“That’s right. Ms. Pomfrey just checked him, and Harry’s eyes are fine; his prescription hasn’t increased.”

Even in the magical world, there is no way to restore normal vision to someone who is already nearsighted.

Unless you're willing to keep taking compound decoctions and constantly transform yourself into another person.

But that would be too costly.

So it's good news that Harry's nearsightedness hasn't worsened.

Everyone laughed happily, except Sherlock, who raised an eyebrow:

"Captain Wood, have you found anything else?"

"Sherlock, I knew you'd guess it!"

Wood chuckled and said, "Since Ms. Pomfrey said there was no problem, of course I had to ask Harry what he felt was wrong, and guess what he said?"

Everyone shook their heads and looked at Harry with curiosity.

Harry felt a little embarrassed by their gazes.

Wood slapped his thigh and said excitedly:
He told me, "Lately, I don't know why, but when I'm flying, things seem to be getting slower and slower."

That's when I realized he was getting faster and faster.

After saying that, Wood laughed from the bottom of his heart.

Harry became even more shy.

Everyone looked on with understanding.

It turns out to be the north.

They're going to win this match!

Harry slept very well that night.

He first dreamt that Malfoy overslept, so Flint had to substitute other people, who then beat him badly.

Then I dreamed that I and the other Gryffindor members rode fire-breathing dragons to compete.

Despite flying at a dangerous speed, the Slytherin members were trying to dodge the flames spewed by Gryffindor.

Unfortunately, Flint's Nimbus 2001 caught fire and plummeted from the sky.

When Harry woke up from his dream with a smile, he was stunned for several seconds before he remembered that the match had not yet started.

He was still lying peacefully in bed at that moment, and there was absolutely no way they would ride a fire dragon to participate in the competition. What a pity!
When Harry woke up, he felt thirsty.

He quietly got out of bed and poured some water from the silver jar under the window to drink.

It was quiet outside, without a single breeze rustling the treetops of the forbidden forest.

The willow tree that had been hitting people remained motionless, looking completely innocent.

But Harry knew very well that it would only show its true ferocity once someone got close.

However, judging from this situation, the weather should be ideal for today's match.

Harry put down his cup as he pondered, and was about to turn and get into bed when he suddenly heard a voice behind him:
"Did you have a good dream?"

Harry was startled and turned around to find that Sherlock had woken up at some point and was sitting on the edge of the bed, looking at him curiously.

"Sherlock, when...when did you wake up?"

"Back when you were riding a fire-breathing dragon and lighting Flint's flying broom."

"what--!"

Harry blushed instantly.

"Am I talking in my sleep again?"

He didn't know he had this habit before.

Because when he was on Privet Road, he lived in the cupboard under the stairs, and his only companions were spiders, who would never tell him this.

Later, even though he moved to the upstairs bedroom, no one could tell him about it.

Until I arrived at Hogwarts and was assigned to this five-person dormitory.

Harry's roommates all said that he would talk in his sleep whenever he was very tired.

Not only that, but during the period of frequent locked-room incidents last year, Ron even learned Parsley from his sleep talking.

Of course, saying "learned" is a bit of an exaggeration; at best, it can only be considered as imitating Harry's pronunciation.

But this matter is still somewhat awkward.

I thought I had a wonderful dream today, but I ended up talking out loud about it.

This made Harry feel very embarrassed.

Fortunately, it seems that only Sherlock heard it.

He asked, still somewhat uneasy, "They haven't woken up yet, have they?"

"She's sleeping very soundly; you can't wake her up no matter how much you call her."

Sherlock then slapped Ron across the face.

"Snapped!"

The voice was clear and loud, but Ron mumbled indistinctly, "Just one more, just one more!"

Harry was stunned.

Should we try again?

Seeing Sherlock raise his hand towards Neville again, Harry quickly said, "No need, Sherlock!"

"Then let's focus on the competition. If we bring the Quidditch Cup back, Dumbledore won't need to find any more reasons to give us extra points at the end of the term."

"puff--!"

Hearing Sherlock's words, Harry couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Last year, Gryffindor won the House Cup for the second consecutive year thanks to Sherlock and Harry's special contributions to the school.

It's already the third semester, and because of the conflict with Slytherin a while ago, my grades have fallen to the bottom, just like Slytherin's.

Even if Hermione, the top scorer, performs exceptionally well in her final semester, it will likely be to no avail.

But as Sherlock said, things would be much easier if we got the Quidditch Cup.

"Dumbledore wouldn't do that, would he?"

"Of course it is. You could tell from the first year's end-of-term bonus system."

Sherlock pursed his lips, disapproving of Dumbledore's behavior.

Seeing that it wouldn't affect the other roommates, the two started chatting.

Harry told him about Cho Chang and Ginny coming to see him over the past two days.

When the topic of finding one's own world came up, he couldn't help but ask Sherlock's opinion.

Don't compare yourself to others.

"what?"

"If you really want to be a Quidditch player."

Sherlock gave Harry a deep look: "Then remember, never have the heart to fight with others; the only one you need to defeat is yourself."

Harry was quite perceptive, and after a moment of silence, he nodded.

After a brief chat, Harry checked the time and, seeing that it was still early, went back to sleep.

This made him feel a little unbelievable.

In the past, whenever he woke up in the middle of the night, he would never be able to fall back asleep.

He felt inexplicably at ease after just a few words with Sherlock.

Sherlock is indeed remarkable.

Harry thought to himself.

With Sherlock Holmes around, no matter what happens, things can be turned around; he is such an incredible person.

As Harry drifted off to sleep, Sherlock began planning their future.

Professor Slughorn's plans are complete; now it's Harry's turn to participate.

He can go find Dumbledore once he finishes this battle today.
