Chapter 310 Approach cautiously, be prepared
He had no time to hesitate. Alan's physical strength and willpower far surpassed that of ordinary people, but even he was vulnerable to the FBI's intense interrogation. Scott knew that if he waited until Alan was fully exposed, the entire plan would fall apart. He couldn't let Alan remain under the FBI's nose any longer; he had to take the most direct action.
"Make your move," Scott commanded in a low voice, his eyes sharp and cold.
As the order was given, the car suddenly slowed down and stopped at a dimly lit street corner. Scott didn't get out; instead, he picked up a small communicator from the passenger seat and entered a password. A few seconds later, the device emitted a slight buzzing sound, followed by a deep voice on the other end.
"Has the plan begun?"
“Yes,” Scott replied briefly and firmly. “The bomb is ready, to ensure a single, decisive strike. The next task is to take Alan away, no matter the cost.”
"Understood. Target confirmed. We'll complete the mission within five minutes. Once the bomb on the outer wall detonates, you can enter the building smoothly."
Scott glanced down at the equipment in his hands, took a deep breath. "Start."
Meanwhile, on another street not far from the FBI building, a black van silently pulled up. The rear door opened, and several well-equipped gunmen jumped out, donned night-vision goggles, and swiftly began their operation. Their movements were practiced and decisive. Explosives were quickly planted at the base of the FBI building's exterior wall and the detonator was promptly attached.
Scott monitored everything through a communicator, calmly directing each operation. Once he was certain the explosives were in place, he immediately commanded, "Detonate in five seconds."
Five seconds seemed to freeze in the air. Just as the countdown ended, a massive explosion rang out in the distance. The outer wall of the FBI building was instantly blasted through, sending dust and debris flying everywhere. The deafening sound shook the surrounding buildings. Alarms blared inside the building, and guards rushed out to search for the source of the explosion.
"Action!" Scott gave the order decisively, his eyes peering through the car window at the chaotic scene outside, a cold smile playing on his lips.
The building's exterior was blasted open with a huge hole, dust filled the air, and shards of glass fell everywhere, instantly creating a tense and chaotic atmosphere. FBI agents frantically mobilized resources, attempting evacuation and response. However, they had no idea that this explosion was just the beginning of Scott's true plan.
Scott led his armed men swiftly toward the building. As soon as the car doors opened, several fast SUVs sped toward the building's entrance. Team members on either side, armed with automatic rifles, quickly disembarked and took up advantageous positions. At the same time, Scott emerged from his vehicle and calmly directed the operation.
"Make sure there are no problems with the passage, then proceed," he commanded in a low voice.
With an air of intense threat, the militants entered the building through the main entrance, while Scott, accompanied by two trusted men, headed towards a side entrance. The chaos caused by the explosion allowed them to easily bypass all the guards and quickly approach their target area—the place where the FBI was holding Alan.
"It's just ahead. Prepare to move out," Scott said in a low voice.
As they drew closer, Scott could clearly feel the tension in the air. Police inside the building had begun organizing a counterattack, and intense gunfire and screams echoed through the corridors. They had breached the FBI building's defenses, but the real battle was just beginning.
Scott waved for his men to move, and several elite agents immediately stormed into the building armed. Under the barrage of fire, the other officers retreated. A few minutes later, after a fierce firefight, Scott finally reached the door of the room where Alan was being held.
“We must take him away as soon as possible; we can’t delay any longer,” Scott said coldly.
The door was quickly pried open, and Alan remained seated at the interrogation table, showing no sign of panic, but rather a confident smile. He clearly knew all along that Scott wouldn't let him fall into FBI hands.
“You’ve finally come,” Alan said casually. “I always knew you would come to save me.”
Scott entered the room, his eyes sharp as knives, scanning the surroundings. He strode to Alan and helped him up from the chair. Alan was clearly unharmed, his expression calm, as if the interrogation had been nothing more than a farce to him.
"Let's go, time is running out," Scott commanded simply.
However, just as he turned around, he heard hurried footsteps outside the door. Several FBI agents rushed into the room, and upon seeing Scott and Alan, immediately drew their guns. "Stop! Don't move!"
Scott's lips curled into a slight smile, a cold glint in his eyes. "You'd better not interfere," he said coldly, his tone laced with threat.
Immediately, Scott's men opened fire, and several FBI agents fell. Despite the gunfire escalating the tension, Scott showed no sign of stopping. He had completely taken control of the situation, with Alan firmly by his side, as they continued walking out of the building.
More gunfire and shouts echoed down the corridor; the FBI's counterattack grew increasingly fierce. Scott knew that after this battle, all their operations would be exposed, and the entire FBI would launch a full-scale manhunt for them. But he didn't care. To him, as long as Alan escaped safely, nothing else mattered.
They finally overcame numerous obstacles and entered the prepared off-road vehicle. The door closed quickly, and Scott and Alan jumped into the car, started the engine, and drove out of the building.
Outside the car window, the smoke and sirens of the FBI building faded into the distance. Scott glanced back, a cold smile flashing in his eyes. "We succeeded," he said.
However, Alan didn't show much excitement, remaining calm. Looking at Scott, he said calmly, "This is just the beginning, Scott. The road ahead is far more difficult than you imagine." Scott was silent for a moment, then finally nodded. "I know, this is just the beginning," he murmured, his gaze resolute, "but now, we have the initiative."
As news of Scott's successful abduction of Alan reached FBI headquarters, the atmosphere immediately became tense and oppressive. Lynn and Mark stood in front of the screen in the command center, their eyes fixed on a set of data. Mark's face was filled with anxiety and unease; he paced back and forth constantly, clearly in a state of extreme anxiety.
"Lynn, Alan has been taken away, and the entire operation has been disrupted! How can you be so calm?" Mark's voice grew more urgent. He was beginning to suspect that Lynn's composure was because he had been prepared for this moment and knew it would come.
Lynn didn't answer immediately, but continued to stare intently at the data on the screen, his expression remaining calm and composed, as if nothing had bothered him. His finger lightly swiped across the phone screen, quickly opening an application, and a red dot immediately appeared on the screen. The red dot moved slowly and steadily across the map, like a human figure steadily traveling along a certain path.
"What is this?" Mark was already getting impatient, but his attention was still drawn to the phone in Lynn's hand.
Lynn still didn't look up at him, and answered calmly, "This is the tracking device on Alan."
Mark paused, a flash of shock and doubt crossing his eyes: "You planted a tracker on Alan? How could you... when did you do it?"
Lynn chuckled softly, his gaze still fixed on his phone screen: "Just a few days ago, I realized this might be the case, so I secretly placed a miniature tracker on him. This little trick is nothing to deal with an enemy like Scott."
Mark's eyes widened, a mixture of shock and admiration he'd never felt before. "You were incredibly clever to think of that beforehand." He paused, seemingly processing the information. "So, what do we do now?"
Lynn remained calm, observing the movement path on the screen, his fingertips swiping rapidly as the map continuously refreshed. "Don't rush. Since Scott has chosen such a bold move, it means he's not in a hurry to hide." He paused, then looked up, a resolute glint in his eyes. "Now, all we need to do is use this tracker to find Alan's location."
Mark's eyes flickered; he seemed to suddenly understand Lynn's plan. Although some doubts remained, he no longer appeared so anxious. "Should we just go after them directly? What if they're prepared? What if Scott notices..."
“It’s alright,” Lynn interrupted him, her tone still steady. “If he could detect this tracker, he would have discovered that Alan was being tracked long ago. Now, as long as we stay calm and follow the red dot’s movement, we can find Alan’s exact location. Scott’s plan is meticulous, but he can’t be flawless in every aspect.”
Mark paused, looking at Lynn, his unease seemingly eased. "Understood. We'll do as you say." He took a deep breath, turned, and began operating the command system, instructing the support team to prepare for action.
Meanwhile, Lynn remained intently focused on the red dot on his phone, which moved slowly eastward, barely deviating from its trajectory. Lynn already had a plan in mind. He knew Scott wouldn't easily give up on Alan, especially since Alan might know some of his secrets. Scott would definitely hide him away. Based on experience, Scott's next target was likely to be to move Alan to a more secluded location, avoiding further exposure to the FBI's pursuit.
“They should be here soon,” Lynn muttered to himself, his eyes still radiating calm and confidence. He handed his phone to Mark. “You’ll be in charge of this operation. I’ll stay in touch the whole time to make sure everything goes according to plan.”
Mark took the phone, examined it carefully for a moment, and then nodded: "Okay, I understand."
Minutes later, Lynn and Mark's task force was ready and quickly departed from FBI headquarters, heading towards the red dot on the phone screen. The convoy moved at a measured pace, but a tense atmosphere filled every car; everyone knew the importance of this operation. Although Alan had been taken away, Lynn's composure and pre-arranged measures ensured that the situation was not completely out of control. Every agent knew that Alan's whereabouts were not only crucial to their own safety but also key to uncovering Scott and the conspiracy behind it all.
As the convoy moved, Lynn's eyes remained glued to his phone screen. His mind raced, calculating time and distance, trying to find a more advantageous point of attack in every detail. He knew this pursuit would only become increasingly dangerous; Scott was already on high alert, and they couldn't afford to be detected, or the consequences would be unimaginable.
As time passed, the convoy finally approached the red dot. Lynn instructed his team to slow down and make sure not to make any noise that would attract attention. They quickly switched to a side alley, concealed themselves in the shadows, and began to closely observe their surroundings.
The red dot's movement slowed, seemingly entering a more complex area. Lynn's brow furrowed slightly, his gaze growing increasingly focused. "There might be obstacles near the target location. Stay alert and be prepared for any unforeseen circumstances," he whispered the command.
The convoy stopped a few hundred meters from the target location. The agents quickly jumped out of the vehicles, split into groups, and began approaching the target area. Lynn and Mark led the others carefully through a cluster of abandoned buildings, stealthily and swiftly approaching the target location. Every step was fraught with danger, but everyone cooperated seamlessly, without letting their guard down for a moment.
"The target has entered an abandoned warehouse, not far from here." Lynn kept in touch with his team through his headset. "Maintain communication and do not expose the target."
The agents quickened their pace, moving through the city's shadows and approaching their target. The warehouse's exterior was dilapidated, its windows long since sealed shut, giving it a long-abandoned appearance. Lynn signaled his team to stop and carefully observe their surroundings.
Suddenly, a team member reported through the headset: "Lynn, there's a cordon ahead. The enemy has probably reinforced their forces inside the warehouse."
“We’ll go around it,” Lynn said in a low voice. “Approach carefully, be prepared.”
The agents split into several groups, quietly bypassing the enemy's perimeter and gradually approaching the side of the warehouse. Just as they neared the warehouse, Lynn suddenly stopped, his eyes sharpening. "They should be aware of our operation. Get ready, go in immediately."
As the command fell silent, the agents rushed into the warehouse entrance. The room was dimly lit, and the air was thick with oil and dust. Soon, Lynn and Mark led their team deeper inside. They tried to move as quietly as possible, making no sound whatsoever; only their own breathing and hurried footsteps could be heard.
"Alan!" Lynn whispered, his voice tinged with urgency, "Alan!" (End of Chapter)
