Chapter 290 1 Bold Ideas
“Mikhail, stop struggling,” Lynn said calmly, his eyes unwavering. “You know we have all your transaction records with the Bloodhawk Gang, all your illegal financial flows. If you cooperate with us now, you might get some leniency.”
Mihai sneered: "Your capture of me doesn't mean you've won this war. The Blood Eagle Gang's power far exceeds your imagination. What does it mean that you can capture me? You're nothing more than a hound pouncing on a big prey."
Lynn approached step by step. He knew that Mikhail didn't intend to resist at the moment, but rather wanted to provoke them to divert their attention. Lynn calmly said, "The more silent you remain, the more it proves your fear. Mikhail, tell me the Blood Eagle Gang's next plan, tell me your new stronghold, or you will never see the sunlight again."
A complex emotion flashed in Mikhail's eyes. Finally, he released his grip on the gun, lowered his head, and said in a deep voice, "You've tracked me all this way; you're truly determined. If you insist on knowing, then listen carefully. I know you'll continue your investigation until you find the Blood Eagle Gang's new stronghold. But you also need to know one thing: this is not a simple place. We've already planned a much larger operation at this new location. If you want to stop us, you'll pay a heavy price."
Lynn remained vigilant, keeping a close eye on Mihai, and continued to ask, "Where exactly is the location? Where is the Blood Eagle Gang's new stronghold?"
Mihai paused for a moment before slowly saying, “The new base is in the south, near an abandoned mine. We conduct our transactions there, not just organs, but much more illegal business. You think I can tell you this so easily, but you should know that every step the Blood Eagle takes is meticulously planned. Destroying it won’t be easy.”
Lynn's heart raced; he had finally obtained a crucial clue. He knew that the abandoned mines in the south might be the core location of the Blood Eagle Gang's new operation. If they could strike quickly, they might be able to destroy this stronghold before the Blood Eagle Gang could launch its next move.
“Alright, Mikhail, your cooperation will help us thwart the Blood Hawk’s plans,” Lynn said, putting away his gun and gesturing to the other members to prepare for action. “But if you try to lie, I’ll personally send you to meet your maker.”
Mihai smiled, as if he had expected all of this: "Are you ready for the challenge? The Blood Eagle Gang is more than you think. You killed me, but a new replacement will appear immediately, and you will have no control over the battle to come."
Lynn didn't respond, only gesturing for his team to prepare to retreat. He knew the most important thing now was to act before the Blood Eagles and thwart their next move. While Mikhail's warning was threatening, he also knew that every counterattack from the Blood Eagles brought them closer to victory. A strong conviction rose within Lynn; no matter the danger, he would not give up his determination to track down the Blood Eagles.
“We are ready, Mikhail. The upcoming battle will decide everything,” Lynn said firmly.
Just as Lynn was preparing to lead his team away, it suddenly occurred to him that the new stronghold Mihai had revealed might not just be a simple trading center, but more likely the Blood Eagle Gang's new command center. They had to act quickly to strike at the heart of the Blood Eagle Gang, completely destroy this dark force, and prevent more innocent people from falling into its clutches.
Lynn took a deep breath, looking at Mikhail's completely silent expression, a sense of urgency filling him. Although the information Mikhail had revealed was extremely important, Lynn didn't intend to linger. He knew that the Blood Eagle Gang's new stronghold might be a key location, and now that Mikhail had spoken, he had to seize this opportunity and take action as soon as possible, otherwise all his efforts might be in vain.
“Mark, get ready quickly, we’re leaving immediately,” Lynn said in a low voice, a resolute glint in his eyes. “We must strike before the Blood Hawk Gang is prepared. The mines in the south are clearly key to their next move, the sooner the better.”
Mark nodded, quickly organized his equipment and weapons, and followed Lynn out of the private room. Outside, all was quiet, but a tense atmosphere seemed to hang in the air. Lynn knew this operation was far from simple; every step could carry enormous risks. The Blood Hawk gang was deeply entrenched in the city, and the mutants lurking in the shadows were practically their greatest threat.
When Lynn and Mark arrived at the vehicle, Lynn silently took out his phone and quickly contacted FBI headquarters to inform them of the new operational plan. The abandoned mines in the south were their next target to destroy. At the same time, Lynn had a vague feeling that this place might be hiding a crisis far greater than they had anticipated.
On the way to the mine, Lynn's thoughts kept replaying the information Mihai had revealed. Why would a seemingly ordinary location like the mine become the Blood Eagle Gang's new command center? He knew the Blood Eagle Gang's organization was not as simple as it appeared; beyond the illegal organ trade, there were definitely more complex dark forces controlling it. And these forces were the true core of the Blood Eagle Gang.
Mark sat in the driver's seat, occasionally glancing at Lynn in the rearview mirror, seemingly aware of how heavy his mood was: "How complicated do you think this operation will be?"
“The complexity is far beyond our imagination,” Lynn replied in a deep voice. “Mikhail just told us that the Bloodhawk’s new stronghold is not just a trading center; it is likely the core of their restructuring plan. If we cannot completely destroy it, the consequences will be unimaginable.”
Mark nodded, saying nothing more. A silence fell over the car; everyone knew that what happened next might determine their fate.
After several hours of driving, Lynn and Mark finally arrived at their destination. This abandoned mine, located on the outskirts of Las Vegas, was far from the city's hustle and bustle, surrounded by few buildings, just a desolate expanse of land. The mine was enclosed by a high iron fence, and a police car was parked at the entrance; everything seemed normal. Lynn felt a sense of unease; clearly, this place wasn't as secluded as he had imagined.
Their car slowly came to a stop outside the mine, and Lynn observed his surroundings through the window. He could see several guards patrolling the side of the mine, the atmosphere unusually tense. Lynn instantly became alert; this was clearly not an ordinary abandoned mine. Certain details made him suspect that this place might have been meticulously prepared by the Blood Eagle Gang.
“Mark, we can’t just rush in,” Lynn said in a low voice. “I suspect the Blood Hawk Gang has already laid down heavy defenses here. We need to sneak in quietly.”
Mark nodded, quickly got out of the car, and together with Lynn, changed into night vision equipment, preparing to sneak into the mine. The two walked through the bushes and abandoned buildings, approaching the outer wall of the mine, and began searching for an entrance.
The air inside the mine was eerily still, almost completely silent. As they ventured deeper, the guards around them grew increasingly dense. Lynn and Mark didn't rush into action, but carefully avoided the patrols' sight, searching for a possible opening.
Finally, they found a secluded entrance, hidden behind an abandoned building, protected by heavy iron gates and walls. Lynn and Mark cautiously approached the entrance, used tools to unlock the door, and quietly entered the mine. The atmosphere inside the mine was unsettling, and Lynn moved with extreme care. He knew they were about to face not only members of the Bloodhawk Gang, but also mutants who might be hiding behind these dark forces. As they ventured deeper, the mine's structure became increasingly complex, with a maze of interconnected passages, dim lighting, and seemingly endless tunnels.
“This place is definitely not simple,” Mark said in a low voice, his eyes wary. “Judging from the layout, it looks like a large-scale transaction or some kind of plan is about to take place.”
“That’s right,” Lynn replied. “We need to hurry, the sooner the better.”
After walking for a few minutes, they finally arrived at the core area of the mine, a huge underground hall filled with various machines and equipment, the air thick with the smell of metal. In the center of the hall, a large table was covered with documents and electronic devices, and several men in black suits sat around it, talking in hushed tones, clearly discussing something important.
Lynn and Mark quietly hid to one side, trying to eavesdrop on their conversation from a distance. A few minutes later, they overheard some crucial details—
“Our plan is in its final stages, and the next organ delivery must proceed as soon as possible,” a man said in a low voice. “Despite the pressure from the police and the FBI, we are ready for the next step and we must get these products out of the country as quickly as possible.”
“We can’t wait any longer,” another man replied. “Once the plan begins, the FBI will be right on our heels. We must clear all obstacles as soon as possible; the Blood Hawk’s strength cannot be weakened.”
Lynn's heart skipped a beat; he had finally obtained crucial information. Clearly, the Blood Hawk Gang wasn't just involved in organ trafficking; a massive plan was underway, and they were prepared for an FBI counterattack. Even more worrying was that this plan seemed to be in its final stages, its launch merely a matter of time.
Lynn and Mark exchanged a glance, knowing they couldn't stay there any longer. They quickly withdrew to avoid alerting the enemy, and decided to immediately report this information to headquarters so that more forces could be mobilized for a strike.
Having just left the mine, they unexpectedly encountered a mutant from the Bloodhawk gang. The man appeared behind them, quickly blocking their path. This mutant was tall, incredibly strong, and his eyes gleamed with a cold light.
"You've finally arrived," the mutant said with a sneer. "The Blood Hawk Gang has been waiting for you all along."
Lynn quickly drew his gun, ready to retaliate, but the mutant's speed far exceeded that of a normal person, closing in on Lynn and Mark almost instantly. Lynn knew the situation was extremely dangerous, so he reacted swiftly, shoving Mark aside and simultaneously cocking his gun to aim at the mutant.
Gunshots rang out, but the mutant easily dodged them, then let out a low growl and pounced on them.
Lynn quickly adjusted his stance. He knew the mutant before him wasn't just an ordinary enemy, but one of the Bloodhawk's secret weapons. The mutant's speed and strength were beyond human comprehension; every movement carried a deadly threat. Lynn took a deep breath, quickly assessed the situation, and prepared to respond. Mark also steadied himself, ready to provide support.
As the mutant lunged at Lynn, Lynn fired his gun decisively, but every bullet was easily dodged. With the mutant closing in, Lynn knew they would be in trouble if this continued. He quickly ducked into a corner and shouted back to Mark, "Quick! We need strategy, not brute force!"
A flash of understanding crossed Mark's eyes, and he quickly realized what was happening. He knew that against such an enemy, the only chance of victory was to use strategy to break through their advantage. He quickly took Lynn into hiding in a dilapidated corner, calmly analyzing the situation.
The mutants didn't seem to be in a hurry to kill them; instead, they began circling their hiding place, as if waiting for something. Lynn quickly realized that the mutants hadn't completely cornered them, but were preparing to use their abilities to launch a fatal blow at some point.
“He must be waiting for the right moment,” Lynn whispered. “We can’t wait any longer; we must strike when he’s off guard.”
"What are your thoughts?" Mark asked, his eyes filled with tension and anticipation.
Lynn quickly scanned his surroundings, his gaze settling on the equipment nearby. He noticed that some of the equipment in the mine didn't seem to be used frequently, while others looked very similar to experimental equipment. A bold idea instantly formed in Lynn's mind. He understood that if they could utilize the facilities in the mine, they might be able to neutralize the mutants' advantage.
“I’ll distract him, Mark, and take the opportunity to activate the device,” Lynn said with a determined look in his eyes. “Once I’ve got the situation under control, you quickly activate the device to trigger their countermeasures and disrupt their perception.”
Mark didn't ask any more questions, nodded, and quickly signaled Lynn to get ready. After exchanging a brief glance, the operation began.
Lynn suddenly stood up, quickly drew his gun, and fired at the mutant. The gunshot shattered the silence of the mine and disrupted the mutant's movements. The mutant immediately turned and pounced on Lynn with astonishing speed. However, Lynn had anticipated this, and at the crucial moment, he immediately seized the opportunity to use the surrounding walls and equipment as cover, quickly taking cover. (End of Chapter)
