Chapter 275 [A Familiar Feeling]

Ethan remained in deep thought on the ship for a long time.

He wasn't pondering Einbetz's words; he was thinking about his experience at sea that day.

Why did Afraya appear?

Is it because she's here?

One of the men, who looked a bit older, had his hands in his pockets and looked at Ethan with a smile, saying something.

Excuse me, may I ask who you are?

"Johnny Court, captain of the first squad of the third division of the Kingdom Security Operations Department, needs your cooperation in an investigation."

The man added another sentence as he spoke.

"Would you like to come down if you need someone?"

Three places.

Joseph's archenemy.

Michelle, did he instigate this?

Ethan knew he was probably in trouble, but he still managed to return Einbezeb, and unexpectedly, he was still being watched.

"Of course not, but can I make a phone call first? As you know, I've been missing for a while, and I need to let my family know I'm safe."

Ethan stood up from the ship and asked.

"Don't worry, we'll talk to your family and absolutely guarantee your safety."

Unsurprisingly, the guy refused Ethan's request.

Seeing their menacing stares at him, Ethan raised his hands.

"Alright, then I'll leave it to you."

Soon, Ethan was led into their car.

Johnny Court and his companion were sitting in the back seat of the car.

Johnny chuckled as he watched the night sky flash by outside the window.

"Ethan, do you remember the name Albertlin?"

The Prohibitionist agent who caused Ethan a lot of trouble.

"Looks like you remember now, that's my brother."

After saying that, Johnny said nothing more.

The car arrived at the headquarters of the Royal Guard in the capital.

The Royal Security Bureau.

A mysterious building located in the central area.

Fortunately, it was cleaner than the interrogation room at the Winster Police Station, and there was no smell. Johnny seemed to be giving Ethan face, and didn't handcuff him or anything, just let him sit there.

But the questions he asked right from the start weren't so friendly.

"Tell me, how did you conspire with Blackbird Johnny to kidnap the princess and assassinate the eldest prince?"

"what?"

Ethan almost burst out laughing when he heard the question. Did they really need to be so blatant?
"Was my question not clear enough? Haha, it's alright, I'll say it again, Ethan Poletta. Now, we have evidence that you colluded with the notorious thief Johnny Blackbird, kidnapped the princess, assassinated the crown prince, and attempted to overthrow the kingdom. You are a respectable man, and I don't want to resort to violence against you. Confess yourself."

Johnny's smile grew even more amiable, but the two men beside him had already stood up.

Ethan was somewhat emotional; it had been so long since he had encountered something like this.

He started his frantic expansion of power precisely so that he would never have to go through that again.

Unexpectedly, as time went by, the same thing happened again.

“I advise you not to do that, Captain Johnny.”

Ethan couldn't help but sigh.

“Ethan, do you think I’m joking with you? Or do you think someone can save you? Joseph? He’s probably in trouble himself right now.”

Johnny's smile was finally no longer concealed; he laughed heartily, with a sense of satisfaction at having avenged a great grudge.

"I'll give you one last chance."

Although he said that, his men were already approaching Ethan.

Just as Ethan was considering whether to use the 'name of the true god' to buy some time, there was a knock on the interrogation room door.

The knocking made Johnny frown.

But he didn't show it much, and instead prepared to ignore the questioning and continue.

"Johnny, open the door, it's me."

"Give me the man."

Standing outside the door was Ethan's old acquaintance, Heisenberg, with whom he had fought side by side in Winston.

"Your Excellency...this person is suspected of treason..."

"Give me the person, don't you understand?"

Heisenberg, being the eagle of the Security Service, spoke with an air of absolute authority.

Johnny's smile finally vanished, his face stiffened, and he took a few deep breaths before stepping aside.

"Ethan, come out here."

“How can you talk like that? Ethan is a famous artist. Be polite. Don’t let others think that we, the Kingdom Protection Bureau, are a bunch of barbarians.”

Heisenberg rebuked him.

Johnny took a deep breath and nodded: "Mr. Ethan, I am very sorry for our behavior just now. Please forgive us. Now, please leave with His Excellency Heisenberg."

Ethan then stood up from his chair and stretched his wrists.

As Ethan passed Johnny, he shook his head at him.

"Luckily you didn't do anything to me, otherwise, I can't guarantee what I would have said to the reporters."

"You walk slowly."

He practically forced those words out through clenched teeth.

However, Ethan ultimately did not make it.

He was taken by Heisenberg to another room, which was neither an interrogation room nor a place to rest.

"Thanks, Heisenberg, I didn't expect you to come."

In fact, Ethan sent a faint message to Anya on the way, telling her to go find Einbetz and rescue him immediately.

As it turned out, Heisenberg arrived first.

"Don't thank me yet. I just happened to come back and heard about this. But I can only guarantee that you won't be tortured, not that I can get you out of here. This matter is not as simple as you think, Ethan."
