Old Gods, Rapid-Fire Guns, and Prohibition

Chapter 200 [Document NA8036]

Document Number: NA8036
Date of inclusion: June 1st, 3417th year of the Observation Calendar

Event details:

This observation began in October of the 3416th year of the observation period.

At the time, Alberto Poletta, the head of the Poletta family, one of the five major mafia families in Winston, was attacked by his former subordinate Fred and Joan, the head of the newly risen Cabrera family. His life was in danger, and the entire Winston underworld was tense, with conflict about to break out.

The person being observed at the time was Sandro, the head of the Conti family.

(Note: Observations of Sandro have already begun; see document number NA7460 for details.)

But in the ensuing changes, one person stood out and became the new subject of observation. This person was Ethan Poletta, the third son of Alberto and the next head of the Poletta family.

Ethan Poletta, 20, was originally studying classical painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Before this incident, he had not shown anything particularly special, except for his talent in painting.

In this incident (see Appendix 1 for details), he swiftly eliminated external enemies, consolidated the family's power, and secured his position as the family leader. The brilliance he displayed was enough to elevate his observation value to one star.

Further observation was then conducted.

In the subsequent moonshine incident (see Appendix 2 for details), he first won over Sandro and attacked George of the Evans family, quickly establishing his position among the five great families and securing sufficient benefits for his family. His reaction, judgment, and tactics were all commendable.

Later, in the confrontation with Prohibition, he demonstrated his scheming, decisiveness, and patience to the fullest. When he killed Prohibition agent Lewis and dealt a heavy blow to Prohibition, his observation value was enough to rise to two stars.

The subsequent Saint Quant incident (details can be found in Appendix 3). Although the circumstances of the entire incident are difficult to confirm due to external influences, judging from its subsequent development, he definitely played a significant role.

Following this incident, he began a direct confrontation with Sandro. (For details, please see Appendix 4, or refer to the appendix of NA7460.)
Sandro has been a subject of our long-term observation, with an observation value of five stars. However, in the process of confronting him, Ethan was not at a disadvantage at all, and in the end, he directly defeated Sandro.

The rating was adjusted again, and at this point he was worthy of five stars.

Then there's the tax case (see Appendix 5 for details), where Joseph Evans, who was also a long-term subject of our observation, ultimately lost to Ethan.

Joseph's value is five and a half stars.

As a result, Ethan's rating rose again.

Finally, there is the Winster rain incident (this incident is recorded separately because it is suspected to be related to the Old Gods, numbered NAG1341). Although the situation became chaotic at the end, to the point that observation was interrupted, there is no doubt that Ethan played a huge role in this incident. In fact, it can be suspected that he played a key role.

Therefore, his final rating was six and a half stars.

This document is a summary; we will continue to monitor Ethan long-term until he is dead.

......"

A pair of hands moved rapidly, writing down these words with a notebook.

When the last word was written, the hands picked up the paper containing the text, checked it, and then put it into a file folder.

Then, those hands picked up the file bag and casually tossed it into the air.

A crack suddenly appeared in the void, instantly swallowing the file bag.

The hands that had written everything were now holding a cup of iced coffee, stirring it slowly.

Outside the window, it was the sweltering heat of June in Winston.

--------

June in Winston.

It's already the height of summer.

Everything is happening in full swing.

People have long forgotten what happened two months ago.

No pain can compare to two glasses of chilled wine.

If so, then have another one.

After gaining complete control of Winster, Ethan's moonshine business became incredibly successful.

No one can stop him. Not even the new governor.

In fact, the new governor named Collins had no intention of making things difficult for Ethan.

On the day he took office, he accepted a dinner invitation from Ethan and Ned, and they had a very pleasant meal together.

At the dinner, he made it very clear that he had only been appointed to stabilize the situation in a time of crisis, so stability was more important than anything else.

His meaning was clear: he wouldn't cause trouble, and as long as nothing went wrong, he wouldn't interfere.

This is naturally what Ethan and Ned want to see most.

They also showed the new governor sufficient sincerity.

In any aspect.

Aside from the unspoken benefits, the most crucial benefit, obviously, is the resumption of the St. Quantica reconstruction plan.

This is a genuine achievement.

Sandro originally intended to use this route to reach the capital.

Now it belongs to this new governor.

Having arranged this most important matter, Ethan immediately began preparing for another major event.

That is, running for a local councilor.

Local councilors are elected every three years, and this year is an election year, but the time is not yet right; the formal election process will begin in October.

Ethan still has time to prepare.

During this period, he has been constantly promoting this matter, whether by actively participating in public affairs or helping people recover their lives after the Winster incident.

Money was spent lavishly, but it was all worthwhile.

Besides these, there were also some trivial matters that took up a lot of Ethan's time.

First, there was the freelance journalist Hlosh. Although he didn't ultimately play a significant role, the conviction largely depended on the evidence he obtained.

So Ethan kept his promise and even added an extra 500,000 to his budget.

After receiving the money, Helosh left Winster and returned to the capital.

Then there were the members of the Cult of the Sun who had secretly come to Winster with the white-robed priest Otto.

It was thanks to these people that Ethan was able to deal with the troublesome Vido that day.

At the time, Ethan promised them that he would help them find the missing Cardinal Casal.

In the end, Ethan did not disappoint them and actually brought Casal to them.

However, it was the dead Casal.

After Ethan killed Casal, he left behind a relic of his true name, which came in handy at this moment.

Ethan said the artifact was found in a secret room in Oswald's house.

In addition, there were some things that Ethan had kept from that ship, so the Sun God cult members had no choice but to believe.

Oswaldo was the murderer who killed Casal.

Oswaldo also died.

There is no way to verify this now that the dead are dead.

Ethan also got rid of a problem.
