Chapter 335 Where did he die?

After dealing with the traitors in the Moria family, the Morias held a high-level meeting and decided to form a team to enter the rift and rescue Grand Duke Moria.

Although everyone hoped that Li En could lead the team, Li En rejected Liam's offer.

It wasn't that he didn't want to rescue his grandfather, Grand Duke Moria; it was simply because the witches were about to go out of control, and he had to go to Greenwood Territory as promised.

To ensure that Li En has no worries, Sophie and Aisley decide to help him rescue Grand Duke Moria.

For them, Lee En and Parker's family members are also their family members.

So, Li En parted ways with the others for the time being and set off alone on the road back to Green Shade Territory.

Field, meanwhile, hosted a lavish banquet in Nightfall Territory to reward his adventurers.

Nancy and Inna bid farewell to Noah, the leader of the Black Rose Adventurers, and chose to follow Li En.

Inna looked at Li En with great guilt, "I'm sorry, teacher, I completely forgot about you."

Nancy seemed a little angry because Li En had been so close to Sophie before, but deliberately distanced himself from her.

Even though they had been intimate several times in their dreams, Li En still acted distant towards her, even calling her his slave and threatening her not to reveal Sophie's identity.

Li En patted Inna's head. "So, you remembered your debts?"

"I...I remember now."

Inna felt a little wronged; she wished she hadn't gotten up at all.

When will I ever be able to pay off all this debt?
Why don't you report the teacher? I heard that you can get a reward of 1 gold coins for each report, which is the secret to getting rich overnight.

"Why not report him? We could get a lot of reward money."

Nancy snorted coldly.

Inna nervously grabbed Nancy, "Ah, it's best to just think those words in your heart, how can you say them out loud?"

Nancy and Lee En both looked at Inna, their eyes filled with surprise and confusion.

You really think that way?
Lee En's lips twitched, and he decided to calculate the interest with Inna.

Nancy followed at a distance, riding on horseback.

Li En could only slow down and get closer to Nancy, explaining his predicament with a mix of coaxing and deception, such as wanting to set her free and how dangerous it was for her to follow him. At the crucial moment, he sent Inna away, made the sky his blanket and the ground his bed, and finally managed to coax Nancy into a happy ending.

When Inna returned, the two had stopped arguing and were inseparable, as close as ever.

The three rode on the back of the Broken Tooth Lynx at high speed, and soon crossed the northern border, quietly sneaking into the Holy Empire.

However, within the Empire, the Broken Tooth Lynx was too conspicuous, so Li En had to leave it in the North and could not bring it into the Empire, instead riding the exceptionally fast Blackmane Horse.

Two days passed.

Li En finally returned to Green Shade Territory with the two children.

This place can also be considered Li En's hometown.

The moat of Green Shade Ridge rippled with a rusty hue in the twilight, and the clanging of the suspension bridge chains startled the ravens perched on the stone crenellations.

The moment the horse's hooves touched the main cobblestone street of Green Shade Territory's outer city, Li En tightened the reins to avoid a rolling barrel. The oak barrel shattered in a stone trough beside the road, and the dark red liquid flowed along the cracks, spilling over the green leaf shapes carved into the ground—a familiar symbol of Green Shade Territory.

“Damn Raz, if you keep delaying paying my bills for drinks, I’ll sell you to the slave market right now to pay off your debt.”

“Oh, kind Lord Bass, I am a former friend of Archbishop Simon. Please, for the sake of the Archbishop, give me some more pubs.”

"If you're the archbishop's friend, then I'm the archbishop's XXX."

A burst of laughter erupted from inside the tavern.

The obese middle-aged man, Raz, was pushed out of the tavern, stumbled, and fell to the ground, splashing dirty water everywhere.

Lee's black-brown horse avoided the enormous fat man.

Compared to before, the roads in Greenwood Territory have been widened three times. Pumpkin carriages and traditional carriages create a bustling scene on the main street. The building in the center of the square is not sculpted with the current lord, Jack Moria, but with a young and handsome leader who bears a striking resemblance to Li En.

"This sculpture looks a bit like a teacher."

Inna was filled with curiosity upon arriving in Green Shade Territory for the first time.

"No doubt about it, that's your teacher."

Nancy said calmly, "He used to be the lord of Greenwood."

The buildings lining both sides of the road were tinged with crimson in the twilight, and glimpses of people occasionally drifted in from their stained-glass windows.

The familiar, deep tolling of bells echoed from the spire of the church, while tiny golden glints danced on the bluestone slabs.

Seven children held hands and circled the fountain statue in the square, their sugar-coated fingers drawing shimmering arcs in the sunlight. Their voices, carrying the aroma of freshly baked bread, drifted toward the flock of gray pigeons perched on the cast-iron streetlights.

An old woman selling wind chimes dozed off against a stone fountain, water droplets dripping from the spout of a copper kettle leaving dark stains on her coarse apron. A bard sat down next to the old woman, found a comfortable position, and took out his simple accordion.

The sound of the red-armored guards' iron hooves was like scissors suddenly tearing silk, shattering the original tranquility.

The chestnut horse at the front knocked over the wicker fruit basket, and the ripe berries burst into scarlet juice under its iron hooves.

The children froze in place, and the lead singer's braids got caught on the saddle tassels, dragging her out like a kite with a broken string.

Li En glanced at the girl.

The flowers on the girl's head suddenly became incredibly sharp, cutting through the saddle tassels like a blade. The friction of her sheepskin boots increased, and the girl, with an astonishing sense of balance from who-knows-where, suddenly stood up.

The friends around him couldn't help but exclaim in amazement.

The girl's mother hugged her tightly, asking about her condition with a mixture of surprise and worry.

The minor incident did not deter the Red Armor Guards from continuing their rampage.

The scraping sound of armored vehicles drowned out the frantic flapping of the pigeons' wings.

The silver flask slipped from Raz's stiff fingers and shattered into a curled piece of tin in the path swept by the captain of the guard's scarlet cloak.

Raz reached out to pick it up, and his round body was nearly kicked away by the horse's hoof. Fortunately, although he looked fat, he was agile and rolled away in time to avoid it.

"Get out of the way!"

The irritable red-armored guards shouted at the crowd on the road.

Li En frowned; he remembered that the guards of Green Shade Territory all wore green armor.

"Those damned Red Armor Army soldiers."

Raz muttered to himself, his face flushed.

"Uncle, are you alright?"

Inna helped up the fat man, Raz, who was rolling at her feet and reeking of alcohol.

Raz dusted himself off. "Thank you, little girl."

"What happened to those people?"

Inna asked.

"That's the Red Armor Army, an inspection force dispatched by the royal family to various territories. They are only loyal to the royal family and are nominally there to capture witches and traitors, but in reality, they do all sorts of shady things. I wonder when the lord will open his eyes and drive them out."

Raz complained.

"Right now, the whole country is on the run for witches and rebels, causing widespread panic. Every so often, those Red Armor Army soldiers arrest a group of people and put them in prison for torture. Without a single gold coin, there's no way to get out of prison. We're just ordinary people, how many of us can afford gold coins?" "Yes, quite a few people have been tortured to death, and Lord Moria doesn't care."

“If it were in the past, our Lord Li En would definitely have stood up for justice for us.”

“That’s right, we’re all green card holders, so Lord Lee will definitely protect our interests and safeguard us.”

"Shh, don't mention it, don't mention it. Be careful not to attract the Red Armor Army. Lord Li En has already been listed as the number one traitor."

The coachman stopped the empty carriage, stood next to Raz, and complained with him.

As the Red Army left, people gathered together, discussing the matter in small groups.

Lee Eun has mastered the power of the rules and can freely adjust her face and hair color.

He was no longer the blond, blue-eyed Moria, but a young man with dark hair and brown eyes, so he didn't attract much attention.

It was clear that the people of Green Shade Territory did not welcome this group of Red Armor Guards.

Unfortunately, Jack Moria had to keep them around for the sake of his principles.

Unless he also wants to flee to the North and abandon Greenfield.

Li En did not listen to the people's discussion any further. He stepped into the inner city through the main road, bathed in the morning light.

His destination was not the city lord's mansion, but the Raphael Church.

Thanks to the light of Simon, Raphael Church has been expanded from a small chapel into a true cathedral, while the once-sacred Church of the Greenfields has fallen into disrepair due to the loss of its bishop.

After parking the horses at the stables near the church, Li En, Nancy, and Inna entered the church together.

Sunlight streams through the stained glass windows, casting dappled shadows that illuminate every inch of the stone wall, making the sacred stories on the walls come alive like murals.

Beneath the high vaulted ceiling, the sculptors' masterpieces appear even more solemn and dignified in the somber atmosphere.

Beams of light pierced through the empty hall, striking the marble floor and leaving dappled patterns of light.

In the dim light, believers knelt or stood, softly reciting prayers. Their devotion seemed to solidify in the air, creating an almost tangible tranquility.

In a corner of the church, a ray of sunlight shone on the face of a handsome young bishop. His features were well-defined, but he had dark circles under his eyes, as if from praying all night.

"Simon."

Lee Eun called out that familiar name.

Archbishop Simon slowly turned around and saw Li En.

Although he now has the same black hair and brown eyes as me, he even looks a bit like a brother.

But Simon recognized him at a glance; it was Lyon Moria.

My past experiences of being exploited and taken advantage of by him flashed through my mind.

Simon forced an awkward but polite smile and dismissed the still-praying clergy and believers. "You're still alive?"

"It sounds like you really want me dead."

Li En raised an eyebrow.

"No, we are friends and allies. Why would I want you to die, sir?"

Simon said with a smile.

The alluring succubus nun Sally silently hid behind Simon. She felt that Lee En was a rather terrifying guy, and it was best to keep her distance from him.

"Come on, take me to see them."

Li En said.

"Ok."

Simon paused for a moment, then quickly realized who Li En was referring to when she said "them".

"Okay, as you wish."

Simon believed that Lee En would not capture the witch in one fell swoop, nor would he betray the rebels and the witch, because the two shared many common interests.

In Simon's view, Lee En does indeed deserve the title of the biggest traitor to some extent.

He abducted the legendary witch of the Empire, destroyed the alliance of the Seven Creed Families, split the North and the Empire, and brought down the high and mighty Pope Randall. Apart from not being officially part of the Revolutionary Army, isn't he the biggest rebel leader?
Simon was even considering joining his organization, but unfortunately, he already had one.

With four parts reverence, three parts envy, two parts fear, and one part apprehension, he led Li En to the east side of the Golden Forest.

"This place has become church property."

Simon explained, "That's why they're safe hiding here."

"It's ok."

Li En patted Simon on the shoulder, "Just pay the rent on time."

Simon's mouth twitched slightly.

After passing through the dense forest, we came across a monastery.

Armed knights guarded the monastery, and when they saw Archbishop Simon, they all placed their hands on their chests in salute.

Simon's carriage entered the monastery without any obstruction.

Ophelia and the witches are hiding in this monastery, along with a group of revolutionaries.

After Simon became bishop, the most convenient thing he did was to build a large number of such monasteries to provide for the rebels.

Those red-armored guards didn't dare to search the church's properties at all.

Simon would also give them kickbacks from time to time, and even if they received any information, they would tacitly accept it as rumors and blasphemy under the pressure of money.

How could such a generous and benevolent archbishop as Bishop Simon be involved in treason?
Anyone who says he's involved in treason is a false believer and a true traitor!
Arresting him and subjecting him to severe torture not only yielded a bribe from Bishop Simon, but also allowed them to present their findings as a reward—a win-win situation that pleased everyone.

Simon led the three to a secret room on the second floor of the monastery.

Inside the secret chamber, Ophelia is holding a meeting with the witches to discuss how to deal with their companion who is about to go out of control.

"Chief, let us leave here and go out to sea. If we lose control at sea, we should be able to minimize the danger."

"Yes, we don't have much time left, we can't stay here any longer."

"I'm sorry, I failed to protect you."

Ophelia's voice was hoarse, filled with immense guilt.

She thought that leading the witches in their defection was the only way to save them.

Unexpectedly, they were pursued and killed along the way, causing many witches to be on the verge of losing control.

The witches were taught from a young age not to affect the survival of humanity because of their loss of control. So now they are only actively looking for their own graves, rather than thinking about returning to the royal capital, Arlong City. Even if they lose control, they will still deal a heavy blow to Arlong City.

Aside from the leader of the revolutionary army, the Time Witch Miriam.

"Since you're all going to die anyway, why go die at sea? If you're going to die, die in the capital, die in the Frank family's castle, die at the Tenet family's conference table. Otherwise, your deaths will be meaningless."

Miriam said angrily, expressing her considerable dissatisfaction with the witches' cowardly and kind nature.
