Durin's Diary
Chapter 1078 Duoyingyin
Chapter 1078 Duoyingyin
Kaya was unaware of this matter, so after asking a few questions, Dulin purified her soul, allowing her to transcend.
Your kindness is all talk and no action; how can I pity you, young lady? Your father even wants you to climb into Duke Durin Elsh's bed; he must be insane to think of such a vile scheme.
But Thranduth Deepwood is different; his memories contain information about many people that Dulin doesn't know, but clearly, Poole knows.
He stopped Dulin from continuing to use the portal to summon more people.
"How much time do you have left?"
"It's alright. We can shake twenty or so of the toughest ones, or even the most skilled ones. We can kill them without any problem. At worst, we'll just live two more months less."
“Leave it to us,” he said.
Dulin shook his head. It wasn't that he didn't trust his older brother, but he was afraid that his older brother still didn't understand: "Do you know how we're going to kill them next?"
“I know. Find all the enemies and kill them one by one. Don’t worry, we’ve already killed the most outstanding child of the High Elf Council’s Speaker. We’ll kill the adults among the nobles. Spare the children.”
“You’re playing house. Do you see that wheel? I’m going to lay it down. Anything taller than that wheel, whether it’s a cat or a dog, will be killed. No mercy, no pity whatsoever. Do you understand why?” Dulin said, looking at Poole in front of him.
“Why, my brother, how many people will you kill by doing this? How many innocent people will be…” “There are no innocent people on that island! Do you know how much the High Elf Speaker earns every hour? 1,642 pounds!! And how much do the workers who toil in his factories for days earn? Five pence! One High Elf pound is worth twelve shillings, and one shilling is worth twenty pence! Tell me, which of those nobles is innocent!”
In the end, Dulin was hoarse from shouting. He looked at his younger brother as if he were looking at those young people who didn't understand him back then.
“Among them are our comrades, Dulin. Not all nobles are our enemies. Like you, have you forgotten who you are? You are the Duke of Lublin Province in the Eastern Elf Territory, the Grand Duke of the Three Great Woodlands, and the Protector of the Union of Austria and Switzerland.”
At this point, Poole handed the revolver to Dulin: "I'll give you two choices. One, you kill me and then rule this land with your methods. You can kill everyone you deem bad. Two, let me do it. I will kill the guilty, and I will educate those children, telling them how foolish and tyrannical their fathers were. No one in this world has ever been allowed to treat another life as a slave or a lackey. Everyone should be free and equal."
Dulin remained silent for a while, then finally sighed.
The person before him was his blood relative, his brother, and his only elder brother in both his lives.
"Do as you please. The High Elves have no gods anymore. You can decide how to punish them. As for the other accomplices, I'll give you a list and you can kill them one by one. You're my brother, you're older than me, I don't care about you anymore."
At this point, Dulin casually waved his hand, and the world returned to normal.
Dulin glanced at his brother one last time as he walked toward the portal: "Remember those who died for you. Like their fathers, they naively believed that our father and you could change all the injustices on this land... Don't let them, their fathers, and our father down."
"Don't worry, my brother, I will definitely become the ninth secretary of the Corleone family. I swear to you, the Corleone family's legacy will never fade." Dulin waved his hand and then walked into the portal.
Lina quickly followed.
Dulin looked at the little female dragon: "Don't you think this is a joke?"
“Someone has to pretend to be the bad guy, so you should have your brother pretend to be the good guy,” the little dragon said hesitantly, but also with some determination.
"There weren't many twists and turns. My brother was too gentle. When it's time to kill, you can't be soft. Any so-called innocent person he let go today could potentially harm his friends and comrades in the future."
At this point, Dulin thought of his past again. In those forgotten times, Dulin hunted down everyone, whether they deserved to die or not, like a madman, all to prevent his already shattered home, called the Tower, from suffering any more.
That night, he lost almost everyone he could call brothers and sisters, simply because someone had a soft heart.
Poole had never experienced such a brutal night, and he couldn't understand how some madmen and fanatics could be so reckless and insane in order to protect their ill-gotten gains.
Among their descendants, there will inevitably be some bastards who feel that their family has been wronged. They can choose not to see the suffering and instead portray themselves as victims, so that they can take revenge on Poole and his comrades in a righteous manner.
That's why there's an endless bloodshed of heroes and an endless number of enemies to be killed.
"Then why did you come back? You know perfectly well that your brother is a weak person, yet you still came here to waste your time. I don't believe what you're saying. You are ultimately a man who takes care of his family."
...Dulin felt that this little female dragon thought too highly of him.
What kind of man takes care of the family? It's all because that dwarf with the gold ingot begged me. I can't stand seeing anyone suffer such injustice.
Dulin thought of the gold ingots, and then of Jack. Fate had brought those young people who lacked the ability to do so to Dulin time and time again. What they all wanted was to change their own fate, to protect their comrades, to prevent the cause from withering away, to think of the day when the great victory would come, to see the red flags flying all over the land, and to see the people no longer suffer.
They will never know how many regrets this land holds, just as even the most tenacious doctor in their eyes has moments of weakness.
My brother will one day regret his kindness today.
But I can't teach him. No matter how many times you teach someone, you can't make them listen to those unpleasant but honest words. Only when the blood of fame and fortune splatters on your own face will you understand that those who argued with you so fiercely back then were ultimately doing it for everyone's good.
Morality? If morality could bind living beings, there wouldn't be so much suffering in the world.
