Durin's Diary

Chapter 1016 Controlling the Strong Chu

Chapter 1016 Controlling the Strong Chu

"You and Daju were laughing so happily just now, is something good happening?" Lan En looked at Du Lin as he walked over, a hint of curiosity in her eyes.

"We talked about some little fun things to come." Dulin and Lanen were discussing the bronze statue, and Lanen laughed. After she finished laughing, she sat down next to Dulin: "Is it your turn to talk to me now?"

“Yes, it’s your turn. I’ve been wondering how to explain this to you, but I knew we would eventually have a conversation.” Dulin said, while observing Lan En’s expression.

To be honest, when the old man and his men brought her here, Du Lin thought she was like his maternal grandmother, a girl from Changtang who had not achieved her ambitions.

I later learned that being "unsuccessful" was just a nice-sounding official way of saying it.

Although she awakened early, her purple eyes put a lot of pressure on her family—after all, no one in Changtang had purple eyes, and neither did anyone in her family.

It wasn't until Daju conducted an examination that it was confirmed that her ancestors did indeed include grassland elves of the Western Continent, the branch that returned to the Eastern Lands of Changtang with the embodiment of rationality.

Purple eyes, a recessive gene, suddenly became dominant in her case.

She found Changtang boring, and after hearing the story of Du Lin's maternal grandmother, she begged the old man to help her smuggle herself to the Western Continent. She also thought Du Lin was a kind and honest man, so she simply married him.

Where Lan En couldn't see, Da Ju, with a ferocious expression, quickly made a series of sign language gestures.

You dare call yourself honest? Are all honest people dead?

Dulin suppressed the urge to complain about when the big orange dragon had learned sign language, while watching Lan En, the little female dragon, who was deep in thought. Finally, she reached out and guided Dulin's hand to stroke her lower abdomen.

“It’s not just Yara who’s been secretly hiding something.” The little female dragon smiled and showed Dulin a motherly smile: “I saw her necklace today, and she looked very happy. You must have made it for her, right?”

Dulin raised an eyebrow: "Yes, I made it. You want it too?"

"No, I won't be able to sleep if I have you with me. But if you disappear, I probably won't be able to sleep either. After all, compared to my sisters, Xiang Shu and I have been waiting for you for far too long. So long that we might even forget what you look like."

"I'm sorry." Dulin lowered his head and hugged the little female dragon in front of him.

Lan En shook her head: "Don't worry, like Xiang Shu, now that I've acknowledged you, I won't have any other thoughts. I will take good care of our child. I will tell this child that his father was a great hero, but unfortunately, the great hero can't go home."

As she spoke, she stroked her lower abdomen.

"Don't talk like I'm dead or something," Dulin said with a wry smile.

“If you become an anonymous person and can’t go home, it’s the same as being dead. The sisters will only live for two or three hundred years at most, but Xiang Shu and I will live for a thousand years. Do you know how long that is?” Lan En said, then reached out and pinched Du Lin’s face. “Honestly, you don’t know how to care about people at all.”

Dulin accepted it obediently—the little dragon was indeed right.

"But it's alright, Xiang Shu and I will do our best to take good care of your offspring."

"Don't spoil them too much."

“Then you’re underestimating Changtang’s education. How about this, you make a sturdy board for me and Xiangshu each, so that we can use it to beat our unfilial children in the future.” Lan En gave this idea.

Dulin was overjoyed: "No problem, come on, let's discuss it properly."

When Xiang Shu arrived, she found Du Lin and Lan En having a heated discussion about whether a paddle should be straight or curved, and whether it should be a stiff paddle or a flexible paddle.

"What are you two talking about?" Xiang Shu listened for a while and realized she couldn't join in, so she interrupted their conversation.

“Dulin and I were discussing how to better use this board to hit the child’s palm,” Lan En explained. “I think a straight, hard board is better; it hurts more and helps the child understand the parents’ good intentions.”

Xiang Shu paused for a moment, then looked at Du Lin: "And you?"

"My opinion is that a curved flexible board is better, as it can fit the human body surface more closely when it hits, which is called ergonomics," Du Lin explained.

"Are you devils? I'm still a child! Do you know how terrifying it is for you to say this to me!" Xiang Shu screamed urgently, seemingly recalling the not-too-distant past, the painful experience of having her palms slapped.

"Then why did you come here?" Dulin and Lanen asked curiously, looking at the little female dragon in front of them.

"Uh... my grandfather asked me to come and invite you to his family dinner. He wants you to bring your sisters along." As soon as the serious matter was mentioned, Xiang Shu immediately let her guard down.

"Everyone, come on up. No, Xiangshu, does your grandfather know how good your sisters are at showing off their bodies?" Du Lin thought to himself that the old emperor had really never seen the Du Lin family girls flaunting their bodies like a storm.

“I know, he invited the entire culinary team from heaven today.” Xiang Shu said, proudly puffing out her flat chest: “Don’t even mention Sister Yara, even if a few more Sister Lina came, it wouldn’t be a problem.”

"Then I'm relieved." Dulin nodded, then looked at Xiangshu: "Since you're here, I'd like to ask for your opinion. You should already know what happened to me, right?"

Xiang Shu nodded.

Dulin blinked.

"Why are you blinking?" Xiang Shu looked down at Du Lin with some curiosity.

Dulin blinked again, then looked at Lan En with a puzzled expression: "Why didn't she hold my hand?"

"Can't you touch it yourself!" Lan En casually picked up Dulin's curved soft board and lightly slapped it on Dulin's tail.

"You betrayed me!" Xiang Shu yelled at Lan En.

“How can you call this betrayal?” Dulin laughed and reached out to hug the little female dragon. “Speaking of which, I think we’re pretty fast too.”

“We’re all Zhulong, not some other species, so of course it’ll be fast.” Xiang Shu said, while gently nudging Du Lin with her elbow: “You’re a great hero, can you stop smiling so foolishly?”

"I'm just happy." Dulin smiled as he took the hit, not angry at all—really, when he died alone and miserable in his previous life, he never dreamed that he would have this day.

“Alright, Lan’en and I have already agreed that we will stay with the family for the rest of our lives. You’d better think carefully about what kind of gift you will use to please us when you come to pick us up.” Xiang Shu said this while smiling and sitting on Du Lin’s lap. She reached out and wiped the corner of Du Lin’s eye.

There wasn't a single complaint.
