Chapter 261 Luna, the Female CEO
Chapter 261 Luna, the Female CEO
"What are you talking about! I only occasionally study cooking with Luna, and we haven't been here together for a long time."
Dylan glared at Cedric and said, "Don't you dare interfere with the girl's relationship, or if word gets out, Luna will be misunderstood by others."
As Cedric watched Dylan speak, a thin blush slowly crept onto his cheeks, making him look as if he had been smoked by a stove fire.
But she's still so stubborn.
shrugged.
"is it?"
Dylan didn't speak again, but shook his head slightly, not a big one, but with a hint of haste. His gaze shifted to the side, landing on Luna's hair.
Luna stood beside Dylan, seemingly oblivious to their conversation. She simply lowered her head slightly, her chin lightly touching her collarbone, her pale blonde hair falling down to cover half of her face.
Her slightly aloof expression shifted, and the corners of her lips tightened more than usual.
However, Qiu could see it very clearly; that slightly upturned curve couldn't be hidden no matter what.
Even Luna's ears blushed slightly.
It was very clear against her fair skin.
"Ding~"
Just then, the secret oven made a crisp sound.
The ingredients that Cedric and Qiu put in have already been cooked.
Cedric opened the oven, put on gloves, and took out the baked cookies.
I just opened the box door.
A burst of hot air, mixed with butter and roasted nuts, billowed out.
It coalesced into mist under the warm yellow light.
Cedric, holding the baking tray, withdrew his gaze from Dylan and Luna, pretending not to see Dylan's hesitant expression or Luna's shyness hidden behind her hair, and instead chuckled softly.
"I made these cookies with Qiu, want to try a few?"
Cedric placed the biscuits on a table covered with a coarse cloth.
He turned to look at the group of people.
Dylan coughed lightly, then nodded.
Cedric took off his gloves and pulled Cho to his side: "Cookies with love on them, I think they'll taste really good."
Qiu lowered her head slightly and lightly punched Cedric in the chest: "Hey, there are other people here."
Cedric's eyes widened slightly, he held back for a moment, then clutched his chest and a slight smile appeared on his lips.
"Try some, they're fresh out of the oven, be careful they're hot."
Dylan's hand was enveloped by a magical force. He picked up a cookie, put it in his mouth, and took a bite.
Suddenly, the crisp biscuit cracked between his lips and teeth.
The rich butter flavor, mixed with a hint of sweet ginger spiciness, instantly spread throughout his mouth.
The crumbly, roasted nuts crunched on the tip of the tongue, their sweet but not cloying flavor sliding down the throat.
Swallow it in one gulp, and even your nasal cavity will be filled with a warm, fragrant aroma.
Dylan's eyes lit up: "It really tastes delicious."
Cedric revealed a hint of restrained yet barely concealed smugness.
Then, Dylan took another big bite.
He swallowed the crumbs in his mouth without thinking much and picked up another one.
This time, he held the cookie by the edge, let it sit for two seconds, and then turned around and handed it to Luna next to him.
"Try it, this piece has more nuts in it, it should taste better."
Luna looked up, her pale golden eyelashes fluttering gently in the steam.
"I can take it myself."
She raised her hand and took the cookie.
Her fingertip accidentally touched Dylan's fingertip.
She felt as if she had touched a small, warm ball of cotton.
Luna paused for a moment before bringing the cookie up to her eyes to look at it.
—The cookies were covered with a thin layer of icing, not much, which shimmered under the warm yellow light, with a little bit of burnt flour clinging to the edges.
She imitated Dylan and took the first small bite.
The spiciness of sweet ginger comes first.
Next, the sweet aroma of butter enveloped the tip of the tongue.
Finally, the aroma of roasted nuts lingers between your teeth.
Luna chewed slowly, her eyes brightening slightly: "It tastes like sunshine; it must be nuts that were sun-dried at noon."
Cedric paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "Yes, you guessed it. I put them on the windowsill to dry this morning because Qiu doesn't like to eat nuts that are a little damp."
Upon hearing this, Luna put the remaining cookies into her mouth, without even a speck of icing on her lips.
“It’s delicious.”
"As long as you like it."
Cedric picked up a cookie, blew on it gently, and then held it to Qiu's lips.
Hold the cookie under your hand to prevent crumbs from falling to the ground.
This also meant that his hand was almost an inch away from Qiu's chin.
Qiu's eyelashes trembled, but she didn't raise her hand to take it. Instead, she slightly raised her face, opened her mouth, and gently bit off half of the cookie.
"The ginger flavor is just right."
A smile appeared on Cedric's face as Qiu was about to eat the other half of the cookie as well.
However, Cedric suddenly withdrew his hand.
He casually tossed the remaining half of the cookie into his mouth.
Chew twice.
Cedric nodded: "Sweet ginger is indeed much better than raw ginger for seasoning."
Seeing the young couple so affectionate, Dylan's lips twitched, then he turned to look at Luna.
"Since they've finished using the oven, let's use it too."
Luna nodded slightly.
Cedric glanced at Dylan sideways: "Go on, go on, are you still going to eat? If not, we'll just take the rest with us."
Dylan shrugged: "You guys baked these cookies yourselves, so you should eat more of them. They're so delicious. If I finish them all later, you'll blame me for eating too much."
Cedric scoffed.
"It's just a few cookies, it's not like we can't afford them."
He gathered the cookies from the baking tray one by one, divided them into two portions, put each portion into a small bag, and carefully tied the bags together.
He kept one for himself and handed the other to Qiu.
"Let's go then, we won't disturb them here... let's not keep them from discussing the oven."
Cedric was halfway through his sentence when he received a glare from Dylan.
He changed his words with remarkable fluency.
Qiu smiled and then nodded gently.
"Luna, don't go back too late."
He gave Luna a brief instruction, and she nodded slightly, indicating that she understood.
Then Qiu and Cedric left the kitchen.
Wait for someone to leave.
This corner of the kitchen became quiet.
The sudden silence left Dylan momentarily at a loss for what to say to Luna.
He had no choice but to start researching ovens.
Luna stood to the side, watching Dylan squat on the ground, fiddling with the magic in the oven.
Dylan stood up after he had almost finished recording the incantation in the secret oven.
She then slowly spoke, "Don't take what Cedric said earlier to heart; he was just joking." Dylan blinked upon hearing this.
Wait a moment.
How could Luna say such a thing?
Shouldn't he be the one saying that to comfort Luna, a girl?
Why is it that Luna is the one comforting him now?
Dylan smacked his lips and gave an awkward smile.
He just doesn't quite know how to interact with girls.
Especially someone like Luna, whose mental age is far more mature than her actual age at the moment.
His casual, perfunctory response was perfectly clear to the other party.
This left him somewhat at a loss for words.
"I didn't take it seriously. You shouldn't let his joke affect you."
Luna's eyes flickered.
After a moment, she nodded.
"Since it was a joke, and you don't seem to mind, why haven't you said anything?"
"Huh? This... I..."
Dylan blinked even faster: "I was just studying the spell in the oven, I was so engrossed that I didn't say anything..."
Luna tilted her head: "Really?"
Dylan nodded repeatedly: "Yes, that's it."
Luna's gaze remained indifferent: "I remember the spell in this oven; you've already studied it, haven't you?"
Dylan was momentarily speechless: "Uh... well, I just wanted to record it in more detail, preferably to be able to replicate it. My production line needs precise incantations, not vague ones."
Luna looked at Dylan but didn't say anything more, only nodded.
Suddenly, she changed the subject.
“You haven’t been asking me to go to the Forbidden Forest at night lately, nor have you asked me to cook here.”
What's with that slightly resentful tone?
Dylan blinked, his thoughts racing.
“I’ve been busy lately. I’ve been researching a spell for the past two days, and now I have this idea of an assembly line, which is why I came here.”
"Oh, that's how it is."
Luna's tone turned indifferent again.
His expression was indifferent.
Even Dylan couldn't figure out what this girl was thinking.
For the few people who can leave him speechless.
Dylan sniffed, pursed his lips, and slightly opened his eyes.
— He should also remain silent until the other party speaks.
"Are you coming with me to the Forbidden Forest tonight?" Luna asked.
Dylan paused, then asked, "Tonight, into the Forbidden Forest? To search for those unknown creatures?"
Luna shook her head: "I went to the Forbidden Forest the night before last and found some blood. I guess it might be from a unicorn."
"Ok?"
Dylan was even more surprised this time.
Unicorn blood?
What happened to the unicorn again?
He had never seen a unicorn before.
However, on my last trip, I did encounter centaurs and mermaids.
He was also thinking about when he could go to the Black Lake to catch some mermaids and maybe catch some centaurs while he was at it.
Ideally, more newborns should be born in his world until a race is formed.
Unexpectedly, Luna went to the Forbidden Forest and discovered the unicorn.
How can this girl be so lucky?
He didn't doubt Luna's statement, after all, unicorn blood is easy to identify.
The blood, imbued with curses or something similar, would make anyone who saw it frown.
Even if a unicorn willingly offers itself, it still possesses extremely strong magic.
Luna herself has a more sensitive understanding of the spiritual world, so it's perfectly normal for her to be able to distinguish unicorn blood, according to Dylan.
Clearly, Luna's words had caught Dylan's attention.
In Dylan's view, the unicorn project was definitely on a higher level than building a food production line.
After thinking for a moment, Dylan nodded.
"If that really is unicorn blood, I wonder who else could sneak into this area of the school and target unicorns. I'll go back and check tonight, but..."
Dylan looked at Luna with some hesitation: "Are you sure you want to go? There might be some danger involved."
Luna calmly looked back at him: "Danger is danger, exploration is exploration."
OK!
This is yet another passage that makes absolutely no sense.
Dylan twitched the corners of his mouth and smiled, "In that case, shall we meet tonight?"
Luna tilted her head: "Don't you ever set a time? You can't even be clear about what you're saying."
Dylan: (.)
Who is speaking less clearly?
He took a light breath and still smiled, "How about 12 o'clock then? See you at the usual place."
The old place Dylan mentioned is the woods behind Hagrid's cabin.
Luna used to always arrange to meet him there.
In fact, Dylan had no idea that he was able to easily infiltrate Hagrid's side undetected because he had many tricks up his sleeve.
However, Luna absolutely does not possess these abilities.
Whether it's the Shadow Ring, the power of the soot sprites, or the power of the Dementors...
But how did she manage to get to the vicinity of Hagrid's cabin without any obstacles, just like an ordinary person, without being discovered or noticed by anyone?
Dylan also asked Luna.
She meant that she just strolled over here.
We didn't see a single person along the way.
Dylan was convinced.
Are you a ghost?
Dylan had no other thoughts besides expressing his admiration.
Perhaps Luna automatically enters the spiritual realm at night?
Ordinary people, and even most wizards, cannot see things in the spiritual world.
It's perfectly reasonable that Luna wasn't seen.
"Okay, that's a reasonable time. I'll be there then." Luna nodded calmly, her tone as composed as a female CEO.
Dylan blinked, then scratched his head: "So, shall we... go back to the common room and get ready, tidy up?"
“No problem, we’ll do as you say.” Luna nodded again. “Remember, don’t be late, that’s our agreement.”
Dylan and Luna walked through the Hufflepuff kitchen and left the Hufflepuff common room area.
He waved to Luna, then quickly turned around and returned to his college's common room.
Luna watched Dylan's retreating figure as if he were fleeing, her usually calm eyes narrowing slightly.
Thinking of the cookie Dylan fed her, a slight smile involuntarily appeared on her lips.
If Dylan knew what she was thinking now, he would probably cry foul.
No?
He simply picked up a cookie and handed it to the other person, so how did it become "hey"?
This little girl's thought process.
It's really baffling!
So, does that mean this girl could interpret an agreement as a date?
