Chapter 380 Heading to the Dawn Star Sector

Chapter 380 Heading to the Dawn Star Sector
Silent Oath

Arthur and Huron stood on the edge of the bridge, looking down at the planet below.

Chaos 3 is named for its proximity to the Great Whirlpool, where it is obscured by the dark cavity at its center.

Their bodies bore the marks of gunpowder, and glitter remnants from the celebration could still be faintly seen through the gaps in the capes around their necks.

On the planet, the surface stains, barely visible even to Astartes's eyesight, tell a story of a past turbulent existence.

Another well-deserved victory.

"As expected, it's those nobles again."

Huron wasn't particularly happy after the celebration. He clenched his fists, his face contorted with anger: "Only they have time to study those blasphemous beliefs."

He felt genuinely annoyed, even though the original body didn't seem to have any objections.

Arthur nodded.

He really didn't have any objections; he would only have objections if there were absolutely no problems.

Such events are common in the Vortex Starfield. With his arrival and Ramses's arrival, the Weeping Ones launched an investigation that uncovered a series of problems, and a cleanup operation led by him was launched in full swing.

The Claws of the Stars, in conjunction with numerous other chapters and inquisitors, launched a lightning-fast attack on these organizations, destroying many separatist forces and areas controlled by Chaos traitors, and thwarting numerous conspiracies.

The nobles were not satisfied with the reduction of their own interests, nor could they detach themselves from base desires like those truly great nobles such as the Imperial Navy. The ultimate result was depravity and rebellion.

Of course, the rebellion organized by these people could not affect many people.

The transformed planetary defense forces repelled the traitors' offensive, and local residents were more inclined to report illegal gatherings to the government rather than participate in them.

These actions effectively relieved the pressure on Astartes and government staff, preventing them from finding even a plumber an enemy after storming into the hive, thus solving the manpower shortage problem and allowing them to focus their limited resources on dealing with the problem itself.

As the cleanup operation unfolded, various separatist and rebellious movements were effectively contained.

It wasn't easy, but at least it was manageable.

that's enough.

To be realistic, Arthur never believed that any system was perfect, just like corruption can never be eradicated, but you can't ignore it just because it can't be eradicated.

The problem will certainly always exist; the key is whether there are continuous actions to address it.

But these are just minor issues.

"Alien activity remains frequent in the vortex wormhole region."

Huron couldn't help but sigh.

While wormholes have generally stabilized, the other end lies outside the Star Torch, where many Xenomorphs have discovered and explored this extremely unique celestial structure.

Many of them were reduced to ashes by Karna's flames, but a few Xenomorphs, relying on their miraculous properties, managed to pass through wormholes and reach the center of the galaxy, causing trouble for the local inhabitants.

The Chaos God had clearly noticed this as well, and Chaos Warriors were constantly emerging from within the vortex, attempting to seize control of the wormhole.

"Given the damage caused by the Navy, I have approved the expansion of the ships."

Arthur pondered for a moment. Nearly a year of investigation had given him a general understanding of the actual situation in the Great Vortex Sector. As things stand, although Astartes still maintains strong control over the planet, its military strength is still somewhat weak.

"As for capital ships, I hope that the size of the fleet in the Great Vortex Sector can be doubled from the original number. Of course, I also know that the current production capacity of the Great Vortex Sector cannot do this. This area needs new shipyards."

The Ghoul Starfield is hardly a good colony. Warp travel in areas without starlight becomes extremely unstable, not to mention the various monstrous creatures that lurk there, not to mention the Minak Dynasty's space undead army that sleeps in the Ghoul Starfield.

Because this dynasty actually killed a Star God and was infected with a virus known as the Skinners, it is less restrained than other space undead that are somewhat more restrained. Basically, once it awakens, it will indiscriminately slaughter all living beings around it.

But since the wormhole has been opened, we have no choice but to hold back and control it.

Therefore, the Great Vortex Sector still needs to grow, and at least a powerful Imperial Navy fleet capable of completely sealing off the wormhole is necessary. Secondly, to further ensure security, Arthur also believes that large-scale space facilities should be established in various star systems surrounding the Great Vortex wormhole. In addition to supply stations for collecting and mining various resources, more defensive outposts, orbital fortresses, and other facilities should be added.

This is something that Imperial military strategists often complain about, as they often don't quite understand why the Primarchs are so insistent on laying down these passive defensive structures in every star system.

In fact, due to their upbringing, Arthur and his friends were not proponents of passive defense, but there was nothing they could do about the environment they were in.

"The project is called 'The Iron Ring,' and you will be responsible for communicating the specific expansion plans with the Imperial Navy and the Mechanicus."

Arthur paused, understanding Huron's implication: "The Dark Angels will leave some behind after the review is over. Hopefully, you'll maintain your usual high efficiency."

"Yes!"

Huron grinned, pounded his chest, and bowed: "For humanity!"

"It's also for your own sake."

Arthur patted Huron on the shoulder, sincerely hoping that this talented Astartes could truly integrate into the human community.

Now that we're the ruler of a composite sector, we should make more demands on this guardian of the Great Vortex.

"Of course!"

Huron proudly raised his head.

"come on."

Arthur released his grip and turned to leave.

The chapter leader of Ash Claws was already waiting there.

"grown ups."

Nev bowed solemnly.

"Have you thought about it?"

Arthur smiled.

Regarding honors and awards, in addition to the honor records and the banners awarded to champion companies for killing enemies, he also developed a detailed set of award standards. Even if the Primarch himself could not come due to various matters, the Primarch's personal guard would be responsible for conveying this honor to the Brothers Chapter.

The warband that received the award was happy, and so were the Primarch's Royal Guard who went to deliver it.

An operation that satisfies both sides simultaneously is considered an operation.

Ramses shook off the petal-stained cloak covering his body, a few bright red petals drifting down from the brocade fabric. A smile played on his lips, but his eyes were unusually serious: "Once you're in the Dawn Sector, there's no turning back. Flowers and applause don't come for free."

"Yes."

Nev nodded solemnly, his knuckles unconsciously tightening, as if confirming his thoughts.

This is a promise.

In just one year, he became completely determined to have Ash Claws join the Dawn Sector.

It wasn't that Arthur wove some beautiful fantasy or a wonderful future for them—

Nev's gaze was fixed on the blue planet hidden in the darkness below.

Whenever they relieved a planet of its threat, the welcoming crowds, the flowers, cheers, and praise from the Primarchs were more real than any admonition or promise.

They disdained deception; they simply presented their vision of the future to everyone.
