Chapter 373 Huron: Living Father, what brings you here?
The Great Vortex Sector, the Badab system, the homeworld of the Star Claws Chapter, now a jewel in the center of the Milky Way.

Astartes' participation in politics greatly improved the operational efficiency of government departments. This efficiency was reflected in the rapid and exaggerated resource allocation capabilities of the Badab system, which greatly promoted commercial prosperity.

The presence of various Imperial military forces has greatly enhanced the sector's military strength, enabling it to maintain the blockade of the Maelstrom, a stable warp rift second only to the Eye of Terror. Furthermore, by relying on powerful military nodes, it attracts traveling merchants and rogues to the star systems surrounding the Maelstrom that were previously difficult to develop due to frequent chaos and pirate activities, thus creating more buffer zones between chaos, alien threats, and the Imperial territory.

Within the star system, construction involved building various industrial chains and dividing labor, such as the production of standard individual soldier equipment, from basic battleships to frigates. Technical cooperation was also carried out with the nearby founding Salamanders Chapter, and a large number of Astartes equipment production lines were laid.

These production capacities will eventually be publicly disclosed as supply nodes, further attracting various forces from surrounding star sectors to the Vortex Star Sector and consolidating the sector's prosperity.

After more than 30 years of transformation, the Vortex Sector, formed by the merger of multiple star sectors, has become prosperous and powerful.

Huron, who facilitated all of this, was officially bestowed the honorary title of Guardian of the Great Vortex amidst the Empire's reluctance.

Does this look familiar?
Huron is a good student.

Compared to most Astartes who are obsessed with honor and only care about the thrill of battle, Huron and his men, after setting aside their prejudices against mortals, appear to be more pragmatic, adaptable, and cooperative.

In the early days of the Special Zone's establishment, during the anti-piracy wars surrounding the various Forge Clans of the Silver Heart, Huron astutely observed the resilience and advanced technology possessed by this branch of humanity. In the early stages of gaining a significant advantage in the war, he used this to complete peace talks with the Forge Clans, quickly ending the last war that could have affected the stability of the Maelstrom Sector, and fully devoted himself to the construction of the sector.

Its patrol fleet, centered on Badab, launched attacks across all star sectors of the Great Vortex. When the supply of materials to the Solar System was stabilized, the endless transport fleet finally brought some comfort to the High Lords who were still suffering because of the Terra Battle Royale.

As of 782.m41, the Great Vortex Special Zone Daily has only been officially established for thirty years.

The ability to coordinate the complex military forces within the Vortex sector and promote its prosperity demonstrates Huron's capabilities and personal charisma.

Recently, however, this guardian of the vortex, who was preparing to report on his work and meet his teacher openly and honestly, was very nervous.

The NICK, a battle barge steeped in history, is a shark-like vessel with a broken keel; repairs will take a considerable amount of time.

The Storm Maiden, the mothership of their glorious battle brethren, the Lamenters, was nearly destroyed in its stern section due to a chain reaction of explosions from the warp engines, leaving the ship's exterior almost unrecognizable.

The Vicious Claw, a Hell-class battleship, is practically wrecked. I've never heard of the Ash Claws Legion.
Hellfire level?
This is a sacred relic from the Great Expedition.

Huron paid little attention to the merchant ships that had come with the fleet. With a look of horror, he halted some of the production tasks at the starport and began to make room for this remnant force.

Today, this battle-hardened and severely damaged fleet is undergoing emergency repairs near a large naval port on the outskirts of the Badab system.

Meanwhile, in the Vortex Sector, massive fleets, summoned by the Vortex Guardians, began to contract, ending their patrol missions and imposing martial law around various military node planets. The naval fleets' warp travel was strictly restricted, and they passively awaited the emergence of potential threats.

The entire Vortex sector was placed under extreme martial law due to the arrival of the Lamenters.

Badab Central Starport, Military Control Zone

wow~
A squad of fully armed Astragalus soldiers hurried across the corridor.

They were clad in full-body armor and armed with high-powered laser weapons produced in the Badab galaxy.

These are weapons and equipment supplied to the Stormtroopers of the Inquisition. Since Badab had the production capacity, they were also used by the mortal forces.

"According to the mechanical acolytes' report, the heretical sect in the S204 noble district has openly opposed imperial rule. They have desecrated the local church and performed evil rituals. Based on the initial report, they are beyond redemption."

The mission and unit number of this unit were announced over the loudspeaker, and the port staff immediately directed the units whose numbers were called to board the ship. A full-strength Star Claw company also departed with them.

This company is equipped with the Unyielding Terminator. Compared to the Iron Cavalry type, which performs better on the front lines but requires more skill from the operator, Huron decided to equip the more cost-effective Unyielding type after a brief period of deliberation.

After all, the Maelstrom is located at the center of the Milky Way, and it mainly deals with attacks from small groups of enemies. At the same time, the production of the Unyielding type is simpler. Huron, which needs to consider the development of its star sector, does not need to compete with the more technologically advanced Dawn Sector for orders of the Iron Cavalry and Hades types of Terminators.

"I'm sorry, brother."

Watching the group of soldiers board the Stormbirds with a large number of vehicles, including Chimeras and Land Raiders, Malakin Forros, the Chapter Master of the Lamenters, who was with Huron in the Starclaws Space Monastery, looked ashamed.

The Weeping Ones wanted to assist in the counter-terrorism operations currently underway throughout the sector, but Huron declined, citing the need for rest.

"What is this nonsense?"

Huron patted the other person on the shoulder in a very generous manner.

"I should be welcoming you."

After speaking, he pointed to the communication panel in front of him, which displayed images transmitted from hundreds of light-years away by the Mantis Warriors. The blurry images showed Chaos Space Marines wearing red power armor and bearing the mark of a demon god.

This is a group of Word Bearers who invaded a wild world planet through caravan activities, although it is unknown why the Weeping Ones were exposed not long after their arrival.

The local resources and minerals were transformed into a series of weapons of war by those Chaos traitors. Years of caravan operations allowed them to accumulate a large number of workers, and the numerous blood sacrifices made against the local barbarians summoned all sorts of demons. It's hard to believe that this was the operational capability of a group of Chaos Astartes.

The only problem was that they underestimated the Empire's reaction speed.

When the Weeping Ones emerged from the whirlpool with a wrecked fleet, Huron knew he was in for a rough time.

"If it weren't for your arrival, I wouldn't have known that there were so many hidden dangers in the Great Vortex Sector. The smooth sailing I had before made me too complacent."

He looked at Forros sincerely, and at the same time, he was somewhat relieved that this series of events hadn't been a major shock to him when Dawnwing came to inspect the area.

Of course, Huron was also hesitant to allow the mourners to move around freely.

"."

Looking at the series of reports compiled by the think tank and the Star Language Court, as well as the image data transported from various places, and thinking about the three warband flagships that are still out of commission in Starport for emergency repairs, and the recent request from the Shark Warband Commander Tiberius for nearly a thousand people and their equipment to be replenished.
Even someone as easygoing as Huron couldn't help but gasp.

It's not that we can't fix it.

Huron is very wealthy now. He can easily provide everyone with a set of the Unyielding Terminator Star Claw, and it would be even easier to distribute them to other chapters. He also frequently uses the tournament to build relationships with various chapters, essentially giving away this excess production capacity as a favor.

The collaboration with the Loyal Fellowship Academy also provided the Astartes Chapter with high-quality personnel. Those ship-based chapters that were too far from the Dawn Sector and were patrolling various places also liked to come to the Vortex to replenish their forces, and Huron was very skilled at arranging this.

He was afraid that he wouldn't be able to handle the consequences of what was to come.

How come we never noticed how unlucky these guys were when we were guarding the Great Whirlpool together?
