Chapter 344 Kosolax Salutes You!
Chapter 344 Kosolax Salutes You!
A bloodthirsty roar echoed in Kosolax's mind.
Behind him surged in hellish fiery clouds, and his terrifying roars shook the battlefield, injecting unprecedented power into the war.
He was the one who initiated this attack.
He orchestrated the first offensive to breach the high walls and commanded his troops to penetrate three concentric rings of walls.
In pursuit of ultimate victory, he risked everything. As casualties surged, the commander personally went to the front lines from the rear to seek the glory that belonged to the soldiers.
Kosolax witnessed Lann's provocation.
Back then, he could only watch from beneath the pile of corpses as the enemy fought alongside the Primarch.
Now, they have once again come to the battlefield where they are on opposing sides, looking at each other at eye level and standing at the same height.
Kosorax looked away, still clutching the hissing rune in his hand, while the Khorne demons followed reluctantly behind.
As an invader, the World Eater cannot compete with the defenders in terms of manpower, not even with Khorne's blessing. Furthermore, the Butcher's Nail's constant mental invasion makes Kosorax uneasy.
Khorne never gave up trying to distract him, and under the influence of the blood tide, this feeling became increasingly clear.
"Don't try to control me."
Suppressing the bloodlust that urged him to his death, Kosolax put those thoughts out of his mind.
They caused their opponents enough trouble, but as a lone force, they were on the verge of defeat and death. Before that, it would be difficult to seek death.
His gaze fell upon the World Devourers.
They were defeated and killed in battle against more glorious warriors, and their souls were shattered.
The Blood God remained stingy, tearing apart the souls of those heroes who could not be spared, attempting to shake the Archangels, yet showing no intention of protecting its so-called believers.
But Kosolax is different.
He felt the suffocating sensation swirling in his chest, and the voice residing in his mind.
That voice was driving it to its death, trying to drag its soul away from the physical universe.
Bang!
Under the fierce gaze of countless Khorne demons, Kosorax's body involuntarily knelt on one knee.
He felt his main heartbeat quicken, and his secondary heartbeats also began to pound violently, as if this was the only way he could react to the fear he felt after undergoing too many corrective gene surgeries. His heart was racing, and his muscle-strengthening organs began to inject super-adrenaline into his bloodstream.
Fear and shame lingered in my heart.
This filled Kosolax with deep sorrow.
He had struggled his whole life, and now, he was actually defying the way the Blood God had arranged for him to die!
If he had become the Blood God's puppet before that, if he had lost control of his body, if his tightly bound soul had died prematurely...
The Blood God will let him go, but he will never be granted a glorious death; he will be trapped in eternal torment like Skabrand.
This is the price of rebelling against the Blood God.
The butcher's nail throbbed in his mind.
"No!"
It took more willpower than ever before to utter a word from the tip of his parched tongue and pronounce it in the right tone.
The face that bowed to the earth was twisted with hatred.
His headache got worse.
"I will not accept it!"
Kosolax broke free from Khorne's control once again.
He stood up, then turned his back on the challenge invitation issued by Lann, and left in humiliation.
He looked enviously at those World Devourers who gloriously faced death.
Charging into battle, knowing that a glorious death is the only outcome, is easy; any Khorne berserker could do it.
But choosing to leave, choosing to escape, letting the cowardly gaze linger on his back, such humiliation tore his heart in two.
Hatred and shame had almost reached their peak, and Kosolax couldn't understand why he should bear such a curse.
But Kosolax will not give up the fight.
He had to resist.
Because the torment surrounding him was not over yet.
So where should I go?
Where can I go?
Forcing his mind to stay clear, Kosolax analyzed the battle situation. He didn't want to submit to the fate given to him by the Blood God, but he also didn't want to abandon his warrior's dignity and leave as a deserter.
what should I do?
How am I supposed to fight against the Blood God this time?
"Angel!"
A roar suddenly resounded.
Kosolax looked up in surprise.
Following the roar, the 'Oathbreaker' turned its gaze toward the area shrouded in blood.
That was the battlefield that countless great demons went to.
The battlefield belongs to the angels.
He's going there!
A flash of inspiration struck.
He must go there; he should run there.
He opened his soft mouth, pulled out the serrated axe, revealing broken teeth, and smiled palely.
The nail started throbbing again, the pain returning to his head like a pulse.
Kosolax looked around.
The theory is good, but putting it into practice is another matter.
He saw the Blood Guard, the Crimson Paladins, who had built a strong defensive line outside the battlefield surrounding the angels, blocking all the villains.
Any being that attempts to challenge the angels must pass through that insurmountable wall.
He saw them holding firm and heard their weapons firing in full-auto mode.
This is an unimaginable expenditure of ammunition; Kosolax hasn't heard such a dense sound in almost ten thousand years, except in extreme circumstances, like now.
Kosolax knew that it was absolutely impossible for him to get through those enemy lines.
His gaze then fell upon the World Eaters who were fighting on the walls.
Akhor, Relokai, Lydis
These soldiers fought with immense passion, especially when they discovered that their fallen comrades were finally at rest.
His martial arts skills, proven by time, were unleashed to their fullest extent, extracting every inch of strength from his body.
With their help, he might be able to break through that defense.
But will they help me?
An unknown nobody, a 'regent' who uses Peturabo to bully others?
Kosolax tried to send his request to his comrades who were indulging in killing.
Yes, a request.
A group of World Eaters fought their way through the chaotic steps, with Kosorax's squad close behind, providing flank cover, and began to try to move towards Karna's area, their shields riddled with bullet holes and ricochets.
'Red Binder' Akhor was closest to him.
At that moment, to Kosolax's astonishment, his company was leading him toward him.
Kosolax turns on his communicator during the battle.
"Cossolax!"
A powerful voice rang out.
"Arkhorn!"
Kosolax never expected the other party to respond to him.
"I am coming!"
"I see you!" "Brother, I need you with me! Let's go to the angels!"
"Now? To the Archangel? Kosorax, have you finally gone mad?"
Kosolax was about to explain when he heard Akhor's laughter.
"Where do we start?"
As a seasoned follower of Khorne, he could tell at a glance what Kosolax was going through.
This unlucky guy has been targeted by the Blood God again.
So he planned to continue the resistance.
Phew!
Akhor used his double axes to cleave into the breastplate of a White Archon Ironclad Terminator, then pulled them out and used his shoulder to push the corpse off the platform.
He should definitely follow!
"Inside the second ring wall!"
Before he could even express his gratitude, Kosolax shouted.
"Northeast corner area! I need you to break through the Blood Angels' defenses and deliver this damned guy to the Archangel!"
Boom!
Behind the Rudraksha Fortress, the giant cannon spat out a heavy explosive charge almost comparable to that of an orbital transport ship, which struck the area of the first ring wall occupied by the World Eaters.
The battered turrets, the mutilated corpses, the stones and fragments falling like raindrops—everything vanished so suddenly, and the collapse of the high walls submerged everything in an even more terrifying earthquake.
The broken section of the wall, hundreds of meters high, fell like a blade sliding off a guillotine, landing at the base of the wall, scooping up a huge amount of land, overturning the open space and causeway behind the wall, and smashing the screaming figures on the slope into a bloody pulp.
Then it tilted and crashed forward, burying the World Eaters and the siege drawbridge that were clinging to it underground.
The collapse of the city wall raised clouds of dust that clouded the air for tens of kilometers around the wall. The dust slowly and calmly rolled and enveloped everything, swallowing all living beings.
Stones and all sorts of debris were still falling in a steady drizzle.
Lann led his team forward through the swirling dust, clearly already accustomed to precise fire support.
He approached a World Eater, who had fallen in front of him, pinned to the ground by a stone slab, and was trying to get up.
Lann reached out and grabbed his arm, pulled him up, and then chopped off his head with an axe.
The body sank into an upright position, then knelt down as its muscles contracted.
He wants to help him stand up, no matter what he has become.
Then he looked up and gazed at the other end of the smoke and dust.
Fragments of the city wall, over 500 meters long and wide, lay scattered on the ground, with a large number of enemies buried beneath the countless pieces.
The blessing from Khorne allowed them to withstand the maximum damage from the explosion, resulting in an unusually large number of surviving creatures.
Lann found Kosolax.
He was still alive, followed by a large army. Through the insignia left on their shoulder armor, Lann even found many familiar faces from the Great Crusade.
He noticed the direction these people were heading.
Lann subconsciously looked at Hal beside him, and even the indifferent war dog's face showed a change at this moment.
His eyes widened, his mouth slightly open, revealing a surprised expression.
Kosolax headed toward Karna.
The dark warriors of the Twelfth Legion scaled the ramparts through the dust and haze, but instead of advancing deeper into the fortress to destroy the black stone constructs, abandoning those glorious strategic objectives, they resolutely headed towards the area where Karna was located.
Kosorax was surrounded by them, and they brandished their weapons at the approaching enemies, driving them away from the Lord of the World Eaters.
"Leddes! Lyddes!"
The 'Red Binder' roared, scattering shields and swords, and plunged his axe blade into the enemy's terracotta and bones.
Now there are three people facing him.
Four, six, eight.
"Ladydis, tell the Regent! Where is the Archangel?"
Phew!
Akhor could no longer ask questions.
A sharp sword grazed his neck, and he fell to the ground, blood gushing from his throat.
"Cossolax!"
Lydice roared and filled in for Akhor.
"Where is the archangel! Where is the archangel!"
Blood and flesh flew everywhere, and living beings perished.
One by one, the World Eaters around them began to fall. Enraged by this, the Khorne Blood Army deserted the group and even began to kill the World Eaters who were helping to escort them.
But the Devourers continued to assault the Blood Angels' encirclement, escorting their rebels and continuing their struggle against fate.
Six crimson paladins approached them purposefully, while the World Eater's savages stomped at them with aggressive gurgling sounds, and bizarre fusions of flesh and metal, consisting of claws, axes, and saws, emerged from their sticky fists.
They intercepted the Crimson Paladin.
Kosolax then charged into the battlefield, his axe slashing in terrifying arcs, cutting down his enemies.
But that's not enough, that's not enough.
Lydis's body began to burn eerily, his armor and muscles were expanding, and his body was starting to become illusory, revealing the skull beneath his cheeks, as he collided with a member of the Holy Blood Guard who was blocking his way.
Despite the casualties, these suddenly crazed butchers charged forward, trying to approach the Primarch, to hold off the guards, and to prevent them from returning to their positions.
The Holy Blood Angels felt as if they were fighting the demons themselves. The Devourers ignored the injuries that should have utterly crushed them and charged toward the indestructible Holy Blood Guard with wild and unrestrained laughter.
At their center stood a warrior who was not particularly tall, wielding an ancient battle axe in both hands. Surrounded by countless World Devourers, they charged forward, roaring the battle cry they had abandoned ten thousand years ago.
They face a formidable enemy against whom they have no chance of victory, but their charge has never wavered.
The Crimson Paladin's powered halberd cleaved them in two, and corpses fell to the ground in the bloody melee.
But they refused to back down.
They marched resolutely and unstoppably toward the center of the battlefield.
In the center of the battlefield, endless brilliance shone forth.
The seraph transformed all emotions into burning fury, the scorching tip of its spear incinerating any demon that dared to approach.
nail--
A bloodthirsty madman wielding two axes reacted with lightning speed. He leaned back, pointing the axe blades diagonally upwards. The gun barrel grazed the axe heads, creating two bright sparks. Before he could launch an attack, the archangel spun around and delivered a powerful kick from behind.
Boom!
In an instant, only two hooves remained, their wounds still burning with flames.
Whoops!
Karna sheathed his spear and sensed the arrival of a new enemy.
Raising his gaze, he saw a World Devourer warrior amidst the pool of blood.
He heard the roar of the Blood God, filled with anger and resentment.
It's no longer for him, but for the person in front of me.
"Nice to meet you, Archangel!"
The World Eater roared as it charged toward the Primarch, its voice almost ecstatic, brandishing its great axe and launching its attack.
"Kosolax salutes you!"
He laughed loudly.
The moment of liberation has finally arrived!
