Chapter 334 The Victory or Defeat is Decided Between Blades

The Antarctic Star landing site consists of four large fortresses: Tucana, Peacock, Apus, and Centaurus.

Centaurus was besieged from four regions at the very beginning of the war, and after a brief struggle, it fell as the sky was filled with warp-powered warship fragments and demons that poured out of them.

The remaining areas retained their resistance thanks to Astartes' timely return to defense, and began systematically clearing debris falling from the sky using anti-aircraft arrays.

However, with the landing zone completely destroyed, the remaining fortresses could only rely on ground resources and Primarch wonders for their resource input.

After a long offensive, the Iron Warriors finally found a suitable breakthrough.

It was the morning of the 20th of March in the Terran calendar.

Over the past three hours, the outer defenses of the Peacock Fortress have fallen one after another.

After nearly half a month of long-range artillery bombardment with General Cannons and Demon Engines as the main firepower, as well as concentrated attacks from above the orbit, the enemy forces swarmed in as the Void Shield showed gaps in its overload.

The outer fortifications and the first two nested walls that encircled the fortress had been lost, and then the third wall collapsed in this chain of catastrophic events.

The rebels' sudden and intensified attack was more ferocious than anticipated, and the defenders, at a disadvantage, could only continuously shrink their defensive perimeter.

Both the Black Sanctuary, which held its ground, and the Holy Blood Angels, which launched counterattacks, suffered far greater casualties than before. The auxiliary forces, composed of mortals, lay dead between the two sides, crushed into a bloody mess by the avalanche between the two steel columns.

Clang, clang, clang
The sound of iron shoes striking concrete made the earth tremble, the atmosphere became eerie, and rubble and debris rained down.

"We are steel!"

The Iron Warriors' Second Battalion, the Third Company, led by the war blacksmith Corvax, with his full force of one thousand men, breached the battlements of the Peacock Tower.

Clad in the finely crafted armor of the Iron Cavalry Terminator, he led his siege guards, who had served him for millennia, up the broken battlements and became the first to break through the inner ring of the city gate defenses that had previously blocked them.

This location was absolutely perfect. He could clearly see the surging torrent of iron, with the Demon Engine as its main fighting force, spreading out from the center of Peacock Avenue along the gap in the high wall. The familiar steel banners fluttered in the wind, and the neat armor reflected the flashes of shells being fired.

"Our fame and deeds will live on forever."

A roar of fury and victory erupted from his mouth.

Glory, this is the glory that has finally been regained after ten thousand years.

Fight against the Primarch under the Primarch's command.

He raised his goggles, trying to find any familiar figures among the enemy troops, but as the saying goes, "an army of ten thousand is boundless and endless," and apart from the smoke and the giants fighting at close range, he could see nothing.

Further away, the Fortress of the Apex roared, its giant plasma anti-aircraft cannons spewing plasma, dismantling the sinking warships into fragments, and then disintegrating those fragments into dust.

The traitors, the Dark Mechanicus, and the Chaos Astartes are launching a fierce assault on these seemingly impregnable fortresses with casualties many times, even dozens of times, greater than their own.

How long can such a glorious offensive last?
A question arose in Kolvax's mind.

Their current victories were achieved at the cost of countless lives. Behind these shattered fortresses are one fully armed fortress after another, and a steady stream of imperial reinforcements arriving from all over the galaxy.

Their strength is dwindling, while the Empire's reinforcements are endless.

When the losses suffered by the chaotic side reach a level that is unacceptable to everyone, their disorganized group will eventually collapse at the slightest touch.

hula-

The heavy, hot-melt bombardment aimed at him caused Kolvax to briefly abandon the thoughts that were making him uneasy.

He should focus on his own battlefield.

Looking at the molten metal fragments at his feet, Corvax thought to himself.

He answered the call of the Iron Lord and came from the distant Stormstar Fortress world of Fogrein to respond to the war. He was ready to fully display his siege skills accumulated over thousands of years, and he firmly believed that Dalian's fame and deeds would be immortalized with this battle.

And he-

Kolvax stepped onto the city wall.

They will also be among the Glory, serving under the great Lord of Steel and as pioneers of the Peacock Fortress.

"Forever immortal."

He was just a screw, a component.

He only needed to fully utilize his abilities within this massive offensive machine and then enjoy this war that, even after ten thousand years, still thrilled him.

The rest was not something a war blacksmith needed to worry about.

Kolvax looked down.

Iron warriors and demons relentlessly poured in through the breach, while mortals and Astartes mingled, desperately resisting the onslaught.

At this moment, blood flows like a river atop the Peacock Tower.

This is his masterpiece, the reward for his millennia of siege skills!

He has fulfilled Lord Peturabo's command and stands here.

"Eternal glory!" The massive shoulder armor, equipped with servo-controlled flamethrowers, began to spew flames.

A string of sharp spikes protruded from his forearms and calves; these were the giant, retractable claws that had helped him climb the steep wall. Curved like the sharp claws of a falcon, the power claws were spread wide, ready to strike, and then began to move.

The explosive gun, held in both hands, had already made its first move among the many conquerors, beginning its roar.

Then, the sharp blade grazed his body.

The black sword pierced through the etched plastic steel, ceramic steel, and composite padding.

The power system, encased in a fine gold frame, was severed, sending out a burst of sparks.

The coolant pipes ruptured, and the flamethrowers on the shoulder armor began to melt.

Puchi~
The blade penetrated inch by inch, severing the ceramic steel armor, reinforced undercoat, segmented lining, and vulnerable skin.

Until the hard black carapace is severed, fused into a single bone plate, and the embedded superhuman organs and spinal cord are destroyed.

Covax, caught in the blast of the sword, staggered at the edge of the city wall. His chest caved in slightly toward his abdomen as his internal organs spilled out of the wound. As he staggered, his slug gun fired wildly in all directions, striking the flying corpses.

Those were the corpses of the siege guards who had been cut in two by sharp blades.

With just a single, barely perceptible horizontal sword swing, the entire siege guards were wiped out.

The knight, who had instantly slaughtered the siege guards, swung his black sword once more.

Corvax fell backward.

His head flew off.

His body fell.

He fell down the steep city wall, his body slamming his companions off the rock face.

The Holy Blood Angels, carrying large flying bags, plummeted from the sky into the smoke and dust below, where they began to fight.

His moment of immortality lasted less than a second.

Arthur paid no heed to his defeated opponent's long fall; he had already turned to face his next adversary.

The black sword unleashed a whistling golden light around it, and in a flash as swift as the sun, the head and body were separated.

Behind him was a dense ranks of Knights of the Round Table, following his figure.

A continuous stream of light shone forth.

In the last moments of his remaining consciousness, Corvax finally saw things he was familiar with.

Kai and Galad were renowned warriors and commanders during the Great Crusade.

The black and red armor, adorned with the insignia of a broken claw, belongs to the elite of the Broken Claw Order, the Dark Angels responsible for guarding Randan's relics.

There are also Deathwing Terminators whose bodies are streaked with bone white, and Dreadwing Destroyers equipped with heavy energy weapons.

Kolvax's face showed excitement. He had always longed to face the renowned First Legion, but he had not found many opportunities during the Great Rebellion. The Dark Angels seemed to have disappeared, rarely appearing on the front lines.

His inability to travel to Starfire to fight Coswayne has always been a major regret in his life.

On the wall, amidst the chaos caused by the commander's beheading, Corvax finally saw the one who had taken his life.

Die without regrets.

"Where Your Highness's sword is pointed."

The moment the Knights of the Round Table landed, Kai and Gareth abruptly raised their longswords.

"Where our swords point!"

The dark angels responded and then began to move along the opened teleportation route.

Deploy beacons and attack from behind enemy lines.

A continuous stream of teleportation lights illuminated the scene, and the troops who were on the equatorial front just moments before were instantly deployed to the other side of the planet.

The iron cavalry charged forward, causing the enemy to panic and be terrified.

The heavy, iron-clad Terminators began their rapid advance, unleashing a barrage of fire that blasted gaps in the steel warriors' formation, sending human remains flying like scattered petals.

If you have broken through the enemy lines, you will be surrounded by enemies, and the outcome will be decided in hand-to-hand combat.

As the Iron Warriors' suppressive fire intensified, the Knights of the Round Table raised their longswords, their iron halos gleaming behind them.

"kill!"
