Chapter 252 The Master is Going to Fight

Chapter 252 The Master is Going to Fight
"That's true. Putting newcomers in their seats is completely different from helping those who have fallen from those seats back. Maybe those people even hope to have such an opportunity after their decline."

After Russell left to receive his orders, Karna, who had been used as an external calculator by Romulus, shook the documents next to him.

He was still good at calculations, and with his insightful talent of not being deceived by verbal justifications or deceptions, he could also help Romulus handle many problems.

Even if it doesn't take up much space, some of the brain can be transferred to Romulus's side via psionic link.

Psychic energy, isn't that amazing?

"However, when it comes to Lord Terra, they were quite cooperative and didn't even think of doing anything funny."

To be honest, Karna didn't expect the High Lords to be so cooperative. The Ministry of the Interior hadn't even thought of giving them anything they would like to see.

The Black Temple was utterly disappointed; they even ignored the State Church's request for them to go and wipe out the scoundrels.

While these insectoids were on their way to their destination and during the time it took for them to sort out the local issues in a meeting where various factions were talking at once, they had already saved several planets and countless humans under the command of several Primarchs.

Their efficiency is not even in the same league.

Besides, aren't the Imperial Guards supposed to be all high and mighty, the emperor's real sons? Let them go.

I'm sure they've fulfilled their responsibilities very well.

The conflict between the Sons of Dorne and the Guards has a long history.

They're all guarding Terra, but you don't talk about the rebel legions, or the Ultramarines who only arrived in Terra after the war was over, and you're constantly taking advantage of the Imperial Fist.

After the Apostate Era, their Terra Guardian status was stripped from the Imperial Fist, and they were all banished to the Satellite and Mountain Array. Only a company could be sent down when recruiting new soldiers.

When we occasionally meet, they act like they're traitors who will betray us sooner or later, and they'll give us the cold shoulder.

Lately, around the Primarchs, we've heard a lot of Imperial jokes, and everyone's impression of the Custodians has changed from the noble agents of the Emperor walking among mortals to clumsy bastards who consume the resources of an entire planet and haven't done much damage output in ten thousand years.

The recent massive purge in Terra undoubtedly proves this point.

"Hehe, it's just a matter of opening your mouth, of course it comes out naturally."

Romulus smiled as he looked at the documents handed back by the Imperial Guard Navaradaren.

The Censorate is responsible for coordinating everything on Terra, including the crucial Maelstrom, which is a key sector connecting Terra.

The text contained a degree of anger, and at the end, it strongly criticized the Terra government's inaction and various attempts to shift blame.

In the eyes of this Emperor's Mercy, Terran's approach was to reap the benefits without lifting a finger, leaving the Primarchs to bear the local pressures.

Ultimately, these are superhumans trained to be outstanding politicians, military strategists, philosophers, and so on, so the Imperial Guard's work capabilities are reliable.

Then he calculated the number of tasks, and seeing that it was almost finished, he explained again.

"The so-called willingness to cooperate is nothing more than conscripting imperial officials. But given the current state of the empire, if we really want to establish a stable supply line between the two star systems, we have never relied on them."

"Aside from more important projects, such as naval operations and special mineral resources, Terra's interests are completely different from those of the local areas."

A typical example is Huron.

Many people jokingly say that if Huron had persevered a little longer, his life would have been completely different.

However, the reality is that without a figure recognized by both Terra and Huron, with sufficient status, strength, and position to suppress Huron's ambitions, rebellion is inevitable.

In the original history, the High Lords Council gave Huron many opportunities.

Huron proclaimed himself the Tyrant of Badab in the Great Maelstrom, defying the Astartes Code, interfering in local governance, and wielding absolute power for over 150 years, during which time he blocked trade routes, withheld tithes, and attacked tax-collecting ships.

Even so, the High Lord ignored Huron's repeated requests to Terra to grant him power, as well as the whistleblower letters from the neighboring Casgos sector.

Huron didn't want to betray the Empire, and the High Lord only wanted to maintain the status quo in the region, so who ultimately started this war?
The Casgos, due to Huron's monopoly on trade routes and his failure to pay tithes, have severely damaged the interests of the Casgos, a superior sector.

They were very unhappy, so they brought in the Firehawk Squadron and began military operations in the Whirlpool region.

However, although the first shot revealed bloodshed, neither Terra nor Huron wanted to fight. Huron immediately rallied the Vortex Guard and issued a joint statement denouncing the Cassgo Sector's oppression of the Vortex, while declaring its complete loyalty to Terra.

So Terra didn't pay any attention to it at first.

Both sides wanted to downplay the matter.

But the Kasgos did not want this, as their interests had been severely damaged.

Then, disregarding everything else, they launched an attack with the Firehawk Chapter and sector forces.

Then, realizing something was wrong, the Ranger Knights arrived, tasked with protecting neutral ships and maintaining the sector's operation.

Then the Executioner arrived, to help the Star Claws in fulfilling the oath of honor they had made with them.

Then Terra, seeing that the Astartes were in a chaotic battle and things were getting out of control, sent the Inquisitors.
This matter has been weighed.

And then it was all over.

If everything goes according to the Highlord's plan, then by the time Guilliman awakens, there will be more than 8000 Space Marines stationed in the Maelstrom, Abaddon will lose a powerful ally, and the Imperium will be able to preserve more of its strength.

If everything goes according to Huron's plan, the situation in the Maelstrom will be much more optimistic, and Guilliman might even be able to win a hero's title for his achievements when he wakes up.

It can be said that despite both sides exercising restraint, the situation escalated to its worst possible direction due to the persistent actions of local forces.

Without sufficiently powerful external intervention, Huron's betrayal was inevitable.

This also indirectly proves Terra's control over local forces.

That's just a solid lump.

In Navaradaren's view, Terran is eager for the Primarchs to fight against the various local powers of the Empire.

After all, the Primarchs don't dabble in Terran power, so if a real war breaks out, it's at most an Imperial civil war, which is a daily occurrence on the borders, especially in the various expansion territories.

If they win, Terra will be relieved of its burden and reap the benefits. As long as the underlying logic of personnel management in this universe remains unchanged, each department will always have its own place.

Loss? That's not an option. Those are four Primarchs, you try and get a Dawn Expedition to show us what you've got!
Reclaim hundreds of planets, formulate local development plans, revitalize several trade routes from north to south in the extreme star field, rationally allocate military forces in various star sectors, and optimize the surface defense strategies of each region.

During this time, they exterminated countless aliens, destroyed the expanding alien empire, and ultimately rescued Macragge from its dire straits.

Although the number of planets recaptured was not as many as during the Macarius Expedition, in the eyes of the High Lord, this was the greatest victory humanity had achieved since the Great Crusade.

So the Primarch doesn't come to Terra, but shamelessly sweeps up cesspools everywhere. What a great guy!
We offer you everything we can, except for support. Keep it up!

That's certainly true.

After listening to Romulus's analysis, Karna nodded again.

This expedition effectively demonstrated their value in the united front effort.

As for the High Lords, don't expect them to be anything special; after all, if they're useful, use them to the extreme.

"However, this is the best possible outcome."

Terra chose to simply observe and felt they had made a profit, and Romulus also felt he had made a profit.

In fact, they currently have no conflict with Terra at all.

Both sides' current goal is to better maintain the unity of the Empire. The Dawn Sector has not done anything to split the Empire, and the Primarchs have not come to Terra to seize power. Even the ports on the homeworld are named after the Empire. What could be more loyal than this?
What? You're saying the Primarch created five Pocket Empires in a row?

Go check out the taxes paid this year in the Great Vortex before you start arguing with us.

If you can pay this much tax, I'll let you run your Pocket Empire.

As the special district closest to Terra, the Great Vortex can be considered the face of both sides, and its resource utilization efficiency has reached an extremely high level after Astartes intervened.

As a tax-generating sector target, the tax revenue here is directly linked to Terra.

Despite the Highlord's chaotic actions in Terra, he ended up having more resources at his disposal.

There's a saying that goes, "If you make the pie bigger within the system, who else will gain support if not you?"
squeak~
The door slid open without warning.

"I am back."

Unlike those imperial nobles who saw him as cold, ruthless, and like a god of death.

Arthur is actually quite normal around his friends, just like a normal college student, he even greets them when he returns to the dorm.

However, he's too serious. If he were Ramses, then...

"Sons, Daddy's home!"

"came back."

Romulus greeted the two with a smile, then asked Arthur a question.

"Have the files been delivered? And have you looked at the planned flight itinerary?"

"finish watching."

"How to say?"

"Let's just kill them all."

Arthur patted the holographic star map and immediately brought up the route he had selected.

First, they traversed the Great Vortex region via the Vigilant Star, then ascended along the Nokmond Corridor from their memories, passing Flax before arriving at Kadia.

"The Vigilant Star might be a bit troublesome. Huangquan No. 8 is keeping an eye on it. The rest, including Flax, are easy to handle. Of course, in order not to provoke the local forces of the Empire and trigger a full-scale counterattack, I only selected key node planets. The rest are being coordinated with the Navy and the Merchant Ronin."

Arthur's tone was resolute.

This made Karna, who was helping Romulus analyze the last bit of the document, click his tongue in amazement.

So their operation this time isn't about building a supply route, but rather another expedition route, right?
"That's good. I'll take charge of the strategic work, and you'll handle the military operations. The fleet's civil servants should be able to manage. If things get really bad, we'll just keep it under remote control for now, and the alert star will handle the operations as needed."

Romulus drew his conclusion immediately and stood up.

He had tasted the sweetness of the great purge in the Dawn Sector; killing people and releasing obedient ones was much simpler than so-called political compromises.

Just be careful not to cut off the direct forces of the various imperial departments, although these people are usually not the ruling class of a planet.

"Ready to leave?"

Arthur looked at Romulus, who had suddenly stood up.

"Well, the last bit of work is done."

He even managed to find time to brag to Karna.

Romulus put down his pen and paper, immediately put on his gauntlets, and stretched his shins.

Not long after sitting down, Ramses, who hadn't gotten any food from Karna, got up with a disappointed look on his face.

"The rest can be handed over to the remaining government officials for handling, and if all else fails, there are custodians."

Romulus uttered a sentence that would send despair through the entire Dawn Star government, and, timing it perfectly, pushed open the door.

Damn it, after being welded to Dawn Star as a government slave for ten years, I can finally go out and get some fresh air.

"Let's go to the port."

The master is going to fight.

P.S.: Huangba is a very powerful forging world, and also a famous source of heretics. They even dare to use Eldar elements directly on their badges to commemorate their camaraderie in battle. They are one of the most at odds with Mars.
