Chapter 206 Terra Delegation

Chapter 206 Terra Delegation

Macurag-Hera Fortress
Not long after the battle of Alteramar ended, Imperial naval fleets from other star systems submitted their resignations, as there were still many more star systems in various parts of the world requesting assistance that needed their attention.

Next up are the Vortex Guardians, who need to return to the Vortex Space as soon as possible to guard against the invasion of the orcs and Chaos.

Then came the Black Sanctuary. After completing this grand expedition, they settled in the Sanctuary World in the eastern part of the star system and built a conscription fortress as an eternal witness to this grand expedition.

The expeditionary fleet was then quickly disbanded, carrying the complete gene seed to various star systems and distributing it to the various sub-groups.

Aside from Nemesis and Maneater, who are always active around the Warband's flagship, there are also the Ultramarines and their various sub-bands stationed in the Extreme Starfield.

Of the many warbands that rushed to the aid of the Altramar space region, only their representatives remain in Altramar.

This is Warhammer 40k. The Empire never stops fighting, and they never even get a chance to breathe.

Romulus could not stop them; the expedition was over. Yet, cries for help from all over the galaxy continued to drift like snowflakes into the stellar sanctuaries of each ship. These elite mobile forces had to continue their journey to the next battlefield.

Because the Empire will always need them, even if they have just escaped a bloody battle.

The Star Speakers listened to the cries for help from distant worlds, while the Astartes sifted through countless requests for assistance, deciding which were worth responding to and which had to be abandoned.

However, the Terran investigation team had not yet left. They first commended those who had contributed to the battle on behalf of Terran, and then respectfully invited the Primarchs to participate in the meeting, where both sides would reach a systematic consensus on some resolutions.

Romulus initially didn't intend to pay them any attention, but after ignoring them for a while, the delegations' indifference made him change his mind.

He was walking toward the conference hall inside the Hera Fortress.

The Hera Fortress today is completely different from what it used to be; a more somber and solemn atmosphere pervades the air.

The "Otlama Auxiliary Army" that was originally stationed here has long since disappeared, replaced by squads of guards that have never been seen before.

They wore full-body black bulletproof armor with black robes underneath, their equipment was astonishingly sophisticated, and officers were equipped with power swords.

Romulus recognized the guards at a glance.

Lucifer Blackguard has served as a mortal auxiliary force for the Empire since the War of Unification, and is now stationed on Terra along with the Paladin Sentinels and the Cardandar Guards.

They are the guards of Terra, the highest governing body of the empire, who protect the human throne world. Now they have taken over the security of Hera Fortress, which undoubtedly symbolizes that Terra's supreme authority once again overshadows Macragge.

Um--

Romulus glanced again at the Ever Victorious Army not far away, and at the laser rifles of Lucifer's Blackguards whose batteries had been removed.

Due to necessary security measures, neither faction is allowed to equip the Hera Fortress with long-range lethal weapons that can be activated at any time.

Like a cage.

"Homage to you, Primarch."

The Black Guards saluted in perfect unison, their posture solemn and restrained. Compared to the fervor of the ordinary people of Alteramar, these rigorously trained guards appeared much calmer.

Romulus's eyes flickered slightly.

He knew that these Lucifer Black Guards were directly under the command of the Imperial Guard while stationed in Terra, and the best among them would be selected as secret agents to assist the Golden Guards in monitoring every move in the Empire.

At least in theory, they are the tentacles of the Imperial Guard reaching into the galaxy.

Of course, combined with the abstract operation of the Beast Wars, where the Orcs fight the Moon and ride Terra, the Imperial Fist fights to the death, while the Imperial Guard remains invisible, that's the role it plays.

Um--

If so.

"Hello, brave soldiers."

His gentle response caused these Black Guards, known for their iron discipline, to involuntarily straighten their backs, their faces beneath their helmets unable to conceal their excitement.

For them, receiving a personal greeting from a Primarch was an immense honor.

This hasn't happened in ten thousand years.

Romulus passed through the guarded gates, slowly raising his head to gaze over the magnificent dome of the hall. Representatives from Terra were already lined up neatly before the council chamber, solemnly awaiting the Primarch's arrival.

The invitation letter to the investigation team explicitly mentioned several key issues:

Will this Primarch, with his deep ties to the Ultramarines, reshape the political landscape of Greater Alterac? Will the four Primarchs travel to Holy Terra to pay homage to the Emperor? And what are the pressing issues that need to be addressed? Each issue is crucial to the future of the Imperium.

The Terra Investigation Team consisted of: Itu Hammertalion, representative of the Ministry of State Affairs; Violetta Roskafler, representative of the Ministry of Military Affairs; Kadak Mil, Imperial Navigator Envoy; Eos Radirra, representative of the State Religion; and Aglaia Hesikood, representative of the Inquisition.

as well as--

The gaze fell upon a tall, golden warrior. Even though Ramses had obtained Guilliman's complete data, this representative of the Imperial Guard was as tall as Romulus, who was just beginning to develop.

The Imperial Guard representative was Navaradarun.

Sure enough, wherever there were Black Guards, there were also Imperial Guards.

Romulus felt the list looked familiar. He narrowed his eyes and roughly made a judgment about the composition of the group.

"Greetings, Lord Romulus. I am Navaradaren, the Inspector General of the Imperial Guard, and I have come here on my own initiative."

Noticing the gaze of the representative behind him, Navaradaren couldn't help but ask.

"Where are the other three Primarchs?"

He was one of the few Imperial Guards who left the palace before the Unyielding Expedition.

He admired the will of mortals and often taught his friend, Captain Valyrian of the Shield Guard, that mortals were not only troublesome, and that the Empire was sustained by the fearless sacrifices and dedication of these men and women.

This is why he frequently traveled outside Terra long before Guilliman awoke, and maintained close ties with the Inquisition's Extremist Order, paying close attention to the alien threats that could potentially impact the Throne World.

With information about this guard flashing through his mind, Romulus immediately responded gently.

There aren't many people like this in the Imperial Guard; they're an extremely rare breed.

"They are not involved in political affairs, and I am fully responsible for the relevant negotiations."

As soon as he finished speaking, a slight commotion arose within the investigation team.

No one expected that these four Primarchs could be so closely connected.

Yes, very closely.

Everyone turned to look at Romulus.

Although she appeared to be alone, she had actually entrusted him with all of this power, which represented complete trust.

As for the fact that he abandoned the other three to attend the meeting, that was completely out of the question. After all, the entire upper class of Altera knew that the Terra delegation planned to meet with the Primarch, and that was no secret.

"I understand."

Navaradaren bowed slightly and stepped aside first.

The investigation team and its entourage quickly dispersed, leaving the magnificent but empty conference hall to Romulus.

"Please come in, sir."

From this perspective, Terra is indeed sincere.

Romulus secretly agreed that the fact that the other party was willing to do these superficial things meant that they genuinely wanted to negotiate.

He stepped forward.

Among the crowd, the representative of the Ministry of Government, Itu Hammettalia, gazed at that broad back and couldn't help but reveal a complicated expression.

P.S.: Apart from the junior judge, all the representatives appearing in this chapter are characters from the original work.

Of course, their ages may be controversial, but the high lords are often hundreds of years old, while those below them have to wait at least a century to gain seniority. They are exhausted when they rise to power, and their birth dates are Schrödinger's cat, so their roles are also Schrödinger's cat. A difference of a hundred years or so is not a big problem, so I've simply brought it out.
