Mystery: Who has seen my brother?

Chapter 231 The Witch's Card

Chapter 231 The Witch's Card

“I know you have many questions,” Eve leaned back leisurely against the bronze chair, slowly flipping through Russell’s diary, “but you don’t actually need to know so much. Some things you will know later, and some things you don’t know at all will not have any impact.”

Klein paused slightly, his gaze shifting back and forth between Eve and the diary, his pupils moving from side to side, his expression gradually darkening as if he were deep in thought.

Eve twirled strands of hair around her fingertips, waiting for Klein's response.

In just a couple of seconds, Klein figured out the implications. Eve hadn't even stopped him from exploring the truth about the creators of the Third Age, but she hadn't answered his questions about Roselle and Adam. Combined with Roselle's words, "Your emperor will return," it wasn't hard to guess what was going on.

He nodded to indicate that he understood, and then asked, "May I see the blasphemous card?"

Eve nodded slightly. "Of course."

He stood up, patted Klein's arm, and disappeared into the Source Castle after saying "See you later".

Klein's fingers unconsciously tapped lightly on the bronze tabletop, enveloping himself in spirituality, and he also logged out of the Source Castle.

He walked through the layers of murmurs back to his room, opened his eyes, and saw everything familiar.

Klein looked around, then walked to the desk, picked up a teacup, took a sip of water, and casually pulled out a wooden chair to sit down.

Just as I placed the empty teacup back on the table, my hand holding the cup suddenly paused—the spot where the teacup had been was now occupied by an exquisite tarot card.

The tarot cards were exquisitely designed, worthy of being collected. On one hand, they depicted a mature and beautiful woman. The woman looked very much like Roselle, with long, slightly wavy chestnut hair and blue eyes, possessing a beauty that combined maturity and purity. She sat on a throne, wearing a magnificent long dress and holding a scepter in her hand.

The card features the eye-catching black and gold lettering "Witch" at the top, impossible to ignore.

Is this the Witch Card? The Witch Card from the Blasphemy Cards?
Klein immediately put down his teacup and reached for the tarot card. But as soon as his fingers touched the card, it began to take on a three-dimensional form, like a miniature book.

The pages moved without wind, turning one by one, revealing the secrets of the blasphemous card to Klein.

The first page depicts a masked figure of Roselle holding a dagger, accompanied by a corresponding Old Fussac text:

"Sequence 9: Assassin"

"Able to transform their body in a short period of time, gaining the lightness of a feather, thus enabling them to perform a Leap of Faith. They also possess the vision of an eagle and darkvision, and are skilled in combat and dodging..."

"Potion formula..."

Klein glanced at the potion recipe briefly, without looking at it closely, and reached out to touch the book, turning to the next page:
Sequence 8: The Instigator

"Having the ability to perceive others' emotions, desires, and malicious thoughts enhances thinking and analytical abilities..."

"..."

Sequence 6: Pleasure

"..."

Sequence 4: Despair

"..."

Sequence 2: Catastrophe

"Sequence 1: Doomsday"

"Sequence 0: Witch" "It really does... hold the secret to becoming a god." Klein glanced through it and couldn't help but sigh.

After revealing its hidden secrets, the book transformed back into a small tarot card, lying quietly on the desk.

"Speaking of which... what lies underground? And what is the Chaos Sea? Since it's related to the godhood ritual, the Chaos Sea's status might be equivalent to a true god, or perhaps it's something like the 'Source Castle'?"

Klein witnessed the "witch's" ascension ritual, but this also raised more questions.

"Russell once wrote in his diary that there is no oil underground in this world. Could it be related to the Chaos Sea underground?"

As Klein's thoughts raced, he subconsciously glanced at the "Witch" card, at the mature and beautiful chestnut-haired woman depicted on it.

"Wait! This is Roselle!" Klein recalled Roselle on other cards, especially Sequence 9 and Sequence 8. Starting with Sequence 7 "The Witch", she became female, but she still looked very similar to Roselle.

Gender-swap yourself... Your Majesty, have you gone this far...?

Compared to gender-swapping himself, the narcissism of using his own image for all card art doesn't seem worth criticizing.

Klein reached up and pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to stop himself from thinking about Roselle being gender-swapped, even though it was indeed an... interesting thing. He was still very curious about what Roselle was thinking when she created her female image.

“At the moment, this card is of no use to me,” Klein muttered to himself, leaning back in his chair and tapping the table with his fingers to get his thoughts back on track. “I can’t exchange the potion recipe for gold pounds either, since it belongs to Eve.”

Klein picked up the "Witch Card," examined it carefully for a while, and decided to try it out to see if it had any other use, since he wasn't in a hurry to return it anyway.

The Blasphemous Card is anti-divination and anti-prophecy; Klein cannot use divination to test the other uses of the "Witch Card."

After a few seconds of thought, Klein found candles and holy night powder, arranged the altar, and began the ceremony:
"I!"

"I summon in my own name:"

"The Fool who does not belong to this era, the mysterious master above the gray fog, the King of Yellow and Black who controls good luck."

Once the ritual was complete, Klein immediately took four steps backward and entered the gray fog, preparing to respond to himself.

This was a project that he had tested with Eve before, when Klein was still unable to open the illusory "summoning gate" leading to reality.

Klein stood in the room in spirit form, approached the Witch card, and tried to "pick up" the tarot card with his spirit form.

Then, Klein's spirit solidified instantly, and his body began to change rapidly. His chest swelled up and gradually became fuller, and his appearance began to become more feminine. The most significant change was in his temperament. His original scholarly air disappeared, and he became holy and alluring.

A golden crown-shaped headdress, carved with olive leaves and stars, appeared on her head, and her formal attire was replaced by a gorgeous long dress.

"I rely on!"

Klein couldn't help but swear. He looked down at his ample breasts and the gorgeous dress he was wearing, feeling a mixture of unexpected and understandable shock and bewilderment.

"Witch... um... witch..." Klein muttered to himself, rubbing his forehead. He glanced at the mirror in the room, but because he was in spirit form, his reflection was not visible in the mirror, which disappointed him.

No, what am I disappointed about? I'm not Russell!

Klein tried hard to steer his thoughts back to the important matter at hand and stop thinking about what his face looked like.
