Chapter 9: Scumbag Roger
"Mr. Moretti, I may know what you want to ask."

Before Klein could continue, Roger took the initiative to respond:

"But I don't think now is a good time to discuss this issue. As a fortune teller, you can try to divine your problem."

Klein paused after hearing this, seemingly speechless at the actions of a riddler like Roger.

But in the end he took out the pendulum from his arms and hung it on his hand.

Not long after, the pendulum began to shake slightly.

But the shaking was irregular, sometimes clockwise, sometimes parallel, and sometimes counterclockwise.

"Unfortunately, my divination seems to point to a fog of unknown."

Klein shook his head.

"The anti-divination properties of the 'Conspicuous Bag'..."

Roger thought to himself.

He took off his hat and smiled warmly. "Well, it seems today isn't a good day to reveal the answer to the mystery."

"I still have some things to discuss with Ms. Angelica. I'll take my leave now. See you later on Daffodil Street."

Roger bowed slightly, and Klein had no choice but to move aside to make way for him.

As he turned his back to Klein and walked towards the reception room not far away, Roger pursed his lips hard, trying his best to appear normal.

It's not that he doesn't want to meet his fellow countryman Klein, the problem is that he is carrying too many debuffs.

He is not only Amon's subordinate, but also a candidate member of the Aurora Society, and is involved in pillar-level secrets.

Although Klein didn't know this, if the Nighthawks noticed his "new friend" at this stage, the decent job he had just found would be ruined.

So Roger deliberately gave Klein an ambiguous feeling, making him unable to tell his own whereabouts.

In this way, both sides can continue to have friendly interactions as good neighbors and good neighbors without having to reveal their cards.

Klein is a smart man. Based on Roger's understanding of him in the original book, he will most likely bury the problem in his heart for the time being and talk about it when the time is right.

There are many benefits to this.

Besides not causing trouble for Klein, if he were to get involved in any incident involving the evil god, Klein would most likely not report him to the church immediately...

This made Roger feel like a scumbag, but it was necessary so that his fellow poor fellow could live a few more days of good life.

After all, in the near future, the Aurora Club will have another big shit in Tingen City... no, a whole big treasure from the God-forsaken Land.

That incident would completely disrupt Klein's life trajectory, forcing him to leave his hometown and embark on a fool's journey with no return.

"Ms. Angelica, I can perform divination today. Please arrange a divination room for me."

Walking to the front desk, Roger said to Angelica.

"Ah, yes, no problem. As it happens, there's a gentleman here who's looking for a good astrologer. Go to the second divination room on the left in the corridor, and I'll bring him over right away.

"By the way, that's the divination room that Mr. Heinus Vincent usually uses, but he just told me that it's available for you to use."

Angelica smiled and pointed to the right. Given Heinus Vincent's affirmation of Roger's divination ability, she was very much looking forward to his work performance.

"By the way, Mr. Bangwei, the club provides free Xibo black tea, Nanweier coffee and Dixi coffee. Which one would you like?"

"A cup of Xibo black tea, no sugar or milk, thank you."

Roger had been a tea lover since his time on Earth—though, compared to the milk tea that was currently so popular in Loen, he preferred drinking pure tea. "Okay, I'll send it to you right away."

Roger nodded and walked straight in the direction Angelica had pointed.

Although the divination room is not very big, it is decorated quite exquisitely.

On the table lay a complete set of beautifully bound standard tarot cards, a bronze mirror, and a stack of illustrated astrolabes.

"Hainas still can't forget his bronze mirror divination."

Roger picked up the upside-down mirror and looked at it for a while, laughing in his heart.

This Aurora Society believer seems to be very fond of magic mirror divination. He will promote it to others whenever he gets the chance, and even harms his own students.

The mirror in front of him was most likely to have had a relationship with the real creator, but Roger was not afraid.

Having been contaminated by Yog-Sothoth, he was not afraid of being contaminated again. Anyway, as long as the other party's status did not reach the level of the Three Pillars of God, no matter how many people came, it would be in vain.

After a while, Angelica came in with a cup of Xibo black tea and a cup of Dipsy coffee.

Entering with her was a serious middle-aged man with a hooked nose, a broad forehead, and gold-rimmed glasses.

Judging from his elegant suit and cane, this man should be either a successful businessman or a noble.

"Mr. Bangwei, this is Mr. Willis from Conston, Jianhai County. He has a divination commission. You two can chat."

Angelica said, put down her tea and coffee, and left consciously.

Jianhai County is one of the top three steel and coal producing areas in the Kingdom of Loen. With the development of the national industry in recent years, many businessmen in the coal and steel consortium have made a fortune.

The man named Willis looked at Roger and nodded slightly, but when he saw the cat on Roger's shoulder, the corner of his mouth curled up slightly.

Bandit obviously realized that the other party didn't like him, so he jumped down and took an afternoon nap at Roger's feet.

"Mr. Willis, I am Metersbonwe, you can just call me Meters.

"I'm good at astrolabe divination, pendulum divination, and tarot divination. You can ask for anything you want."

Roger briefly introduced himself and the type of divination he was good at.

"Astrology is fine. I've come across it before. I don't really believe in anything else."

Mr. Willis's voice was a little hoarse:
"A week ago, I brought my youngest son, James, from Constance to Tingen to discuss an iron ore deal. Everything was going well, but three nights ago, James said he wanted to go out and experience Tingen's bar culture, and he never came back.

"I tried to call the police, and they did a search for missing persons, but found nothing."

Roger nodded slightly: "You want me to predict where little James will go, right?"

Mr. Willis nodded, took a deep breath, and said, "Exactly. Here's his date, time, and place of birth. I know I'll need that for astrology."

Roger breathed a sigh of relief. The biggest fear of an astrologer is that the client cannot provide the accurate time of birth. Since the other party has done the homework, it saves him a lot of trouble.

He quickly drew out James's natal chart, and based on the current ephemeris, he drew out an astronomical chart on the periphery for comparison.

The purpose of doing this is to calculate the current environment James is in and thus determine his position.

Then Roger looked at the astrolabe carefully, but the more he looked, the deeper his frown became.

"Hiss... The ruler of the Ascension Palace has fallen into Pisces, forming a restraining aspect with Mars... Is this involved in an occult incident, and is it life-threatening?"

There will be another update in the evening.
