Chapter 334 When Will Rosell Retire?

Chapter 334 When Will Rosell Retire?

Upon hearing Russell's words, Rowling immediately understood and looked at Russell with sympathy.

"The Phantom of the Opera" is one of the works that Russell copied. If Bernadette and her family didn't know this, it would be fine. But the fact is that Bernadette is already learning Chinese from her father. Whether she knows this now or not, she will inevitably find out in the future. Under these circumstances, it is indeed a bit awkward for Russell to go and see it.

"That's what they call 'copying books is fun for a moment, but a nightmare afterwards,'" Luo Lin shook his head and commented.

Rosell's expression became even more awkward. He coughed lightly and said, "Ahem, boss, let's talk about something serious, like establishing a mechanical laboratory or something."

Luo Lin glanced at him, smiled, and indeed didn't intend to continue teasing him. He simply said, "You're going to talk to me about work while wearing these bear pajamas?"

“What do you know? These are matching outfits that Bebe prepared for Bonova and me. She designed them herself based on the manuscripts I left behind.” When he mentioned this, Rosell showed no embarrassment at all. On the contrary, he was very proud, as if he wanted the whole world to know that his precious daughter had made matching outfits for him.

Upon hearing this, Luo Lin remained silent, simply smiling as he looked at Him.

Roselle, who had been speaking with great enthusiasm, gradually lowered his voice under Rolin's smile. He coughed lightly and immediately said, "Uh, of course I know that it's not appropriate to dress like this when we're formally discussing work. Boss, come in and have a glass of water. Give me two minutes, and I'll go change my clothes."

After saying that, Russell immediately welcomed Rollin into the house, poured him some tea, and then quickly went upstairs to change his clothes.

Just half a minute later, Russell reappeared in front of Rowling. He had changed into a formal suit and looked quite respectable, even holding a thick plan in his hand.

"This is my idea for the mechanical laboratory. I think our future direction can focus on two aspects: one is to research the mass production and popularization of extraordinary devices, and to develop a unique mechanical technology tree with global characteristics." Rosell, as expected of a professional, had clearly done some research on this topic and began enthusiastically explaining his various ideas:
"On the other hand, perhaps we can try to bypass oil as an energy source to develop technology. This is unlikely for ordinary civilizations, but our world has previous civilizations as a reference, so it's not impossible to skip oil and develop a technology tree based on nuclear energy..."

"And I already have several plans for the initial research projects in the lab..."

Rowling listened quietly, occasionally speaking up to discuss with Russell. Although he was not as professional as Russell, thanks to his more imaginative ideas, Rowling undoubtedly provided several interesting directions for the future development of technology.

By the time the two finished their discussion, it was already dark, and Bernadette and Bonova had naturally gone home long ago. The two women were sitting a short distance away, doing their own things while curiously peeking at what was happening in their direction.

"From now on, I'll leave the mechanical laboratory to you. I believe you can deliver a satisfactory result," Roland said with a smile, taking a sip of his red tea.

"I suddenly feel a lot of pressure, boss. If I don't get any results from this research, you won't kill me, will you?" Rosell said, looking at Rolin with feigned fear. It was unclear whether he was teasing or testing her.

"How could that be? Am I that kind of heartless boss?" Luo Lin looked at Him and smiled, saying, "At most, I'll arrange other work for you, extend your working time, and let you work for me for another 100 years for nothing or something."

"As expected of you," Rosell muttered, then, as if remembering something, added, "I'll go handle the docking with the steam engine?"

"Otherwise what?" Rowling retorted.

"Boss, aren't you afraid I'll team up with Steam to sideline you? Like, hide our research results or something?" Rosell asked curiously, with a hint of probing. "You can try, I don't mind," Roland said with a smile.

Russell's expression immediately turned awkward, and he quickly said, "Just kidding, just kidding, I certainly wouldn't do that, it wouldn't do me any good."

"If one day in the future you are able to develop a technology tree strong enough to rival mine, I'll look forward to it." Roland smiled, looking at Rosell meaningfully.

"Roselle, I know you're not content to be subservient to others, and I don't intend to keep you tied down for life. When I no longer need you, or when someone comes along to take your place, you'll naturally be free."

Rosell's expression turned somewhat strange upon hearing this. He looked at Rolin, hesitated for a second, and then said, "So, I can retire as long as I train a successor?"

“Of course,” Rowling nodded.

Roselle seemed relieved, then, as if remembering something, his expression changed, and he asked, "What about my parents then?"

“I’m a very conscientious boss, so naturally I’ll give retired employees some benefits.” Roland looked at Him with a smile.

Rosell finally breathed a sigh of relief. He then finished his tea in one gulp, casually wiped his mouth with his sleeve, and looked at Roland, saying, "Boss, aren't you angry?"

“Am I the first person to know who you are?” Rowling glanced at Russell, smiled, and said, “Besides, you just want freedom, not to actually betray me, so what’s wrong with that?”

"Are you really such an open-minded person?" Rosell couldn't help but mutter. He admitted that he had indeed had some thoughts, but of course he had no intention of betraying Rowling. He had just thought about how to stop working for Rowling.

Russell's nature undoubtedly yearned for freedom, which is why it was alright for him to work for Rowling for a while, but it was really hard for him to work for Rowling for a lifetime.

"I've always been very open-minded; you're the one who put a 'streetlight filter' on me," Luo Lin said irritably, then stood up and said:

"That's enough for today. I won't disturb you two from enjoying your time together. But I hope that when I visit next time, your work progress won't be at zero."

"I understand, I understand. I'll go talk to Steam tomorrow about setting up the lab. I'll try to get the lab itself ready this month, recruit all the researchers, and start the research project right away," Rosell nodded repeatedly.

Before leaving, Rowling glanced at the two children beside him and saw them huddled together reading "Capital." He immediately smiled.

He certainly wouldn't mind if Russell retired someday, as long as the other party could get everything he wanted done done before he retired.
