Chapter 832 The Will of the Night's Watch

The battle is becoming increasingly difficult.

The crack is slowly expanding.

But the void creatures emerging from the slowly expanding rift did not stop, one after another.

There were only four of them, and two fists couldn't fight four hands, let alone these void creatures that represented destruction.

The real threat arrives when the crack expands to its limit, large enough to allow a small battering ram to pass through.

The "powerful warriors" who should have arrived at this time did not appear.

The Night's Watch's understanding of the Void is ongoing.

Detailed analyses were conducted on creatures at various power levels within the void.

Furthermore, there is also some analysis on the enemies that will emerge from a void rift at each stage after it expands.

It was like a rift that had expanded to its limit, and what emerged from it should be the Void Warrior.

These are captain-type command units with strength ranging from level seven to level nine.

However, this time, what appeared was a type of void creature that was rare when the void gate opened before.

Soul-Splittering Demon.

Three "Soul Splitters" floated out like ghosts.

Their shapes are irregular, with the main body being a swirling mass of purple energy mist, inside which float several crystal cores that shimmer with malevolent light, forming a blurry and distorted humanoid outline.

They have no physical form, but they drift at extremely high speeds, emanating a chilling aura—a pure source of spiritual pollution.

Among void creatures below level 10, the Soul Splitter is definitely a key target. When it appears, if you have the ability, you must prioritize focusing fire on it and eliminating it.

"Oh no! It's a Soul Splitter! Soul attack!"

Old Jack's expression changed drastically.

These Soul Rift Demons are at least level eight and are spirit destroyers in the void!
The moment they appear, the mental pressure increases tenfold.

Even the Night's Watchmen have begun to experience dizziness and tinnitus, a sign that their spirits are being destroyed.

Ella's enchanted arrows were deflected by an invisible mental barrier, and Bran's alchemical dust could only slightly slow them down.

A Soul Splitter merged into the air and silently pounced on Mog, its icy soul energy ignoring the tree bark defense and surging in instantly.

Mog's massive and resilient tree-man body stiffened abruptly, and the wood fibers beneath the bark emitted a faint, teeth-grinding cracking sound.

His massive body trembled violently, and his defensive posture collapsed instantly.

"A big tree!"

Old Jack risked his life to rush forward to the rescue, the runes of order on his sword lit up, and he stabbed fiercely into the purple mist, shattering one of its cores and forcing it to retreat.

But Mog's movements became noticeably stiff and sluggish. He was grazed by the energy whip of another Soul-Splitter, leaving a charred, ominous purple gash on the tree trunk.

The pressure increased sharply.

"Damn it! This is too troublesome."

"What? I can't hear you."

Blood was flowing from his ears, and purple cracks appeared around the auricle.

"Ugh! I feel like throwing up!"

The psychological attack has disrupted some of the brain's sensory information.

The team began to retreat steadily, and was compressed into a piece of crystallized land full of cracks less than fifty meters away from the fissure.

Everyone has new wounds.

Ayra's shoulder was slashed open by the claws of the crystal-footed insect, and the eerie purple erosion at the wound, along with the burning pain from the inhibitor, contorted her beautiful elven face.

The Soul-Splitter Demon was still around, causing even greater invasion and pollution of her mind.

Old Jack had two more deep, bone-revealing wounds on his arm and back, and every swing of his sword felt like tearing his nerves apart.

The movements were still powerful, but the pain was deep and penetrating.

Mog's injuries were more severe, with purple marks spreading across the tree trunk.

Just like a withered tree, some ominous bark has begun to fall off.

To conserve his potions, Bran endured the excruciating pain from a not-so-deep wound on his right leg, limping as he released the few remaining alchemical tools he had.

An atmosphere of despair began to permeate the air.

"Hang in there! We're the Night's Watchmen, this little bit of fatigue and pain won't affect us!"

Old Jack, panting, cleaved a charging war beast in two with a single sword stroke. He then stepped back, unleashing his magic to push away the lunging Soul-Splitter.

"That's right, the message for reinforcements has been sent out, and they're on their way. Let's hold on a little longer!"

The others cheered them on.

They are not yet in despair. The Night's Watch are war machines, and they are still able to resist these destroyers of the Void.

Just then, a chilling sound of space tearing apart came from the rift!

"Boom!!!"

The massive rift's edges seemed to be violently torn apart by an invisible giant hand, and the purplish-black space edge emitted a piercing groan as it expanded violently to both sides.

A terrifying aura, more than ten times stronger than that of the Soul-Splitting Demon, surged out like a tsunami.

A huge, twisted figure was forced out from within.

It stands nearly three meters tall, with a long, inverted cone-shaped tail covered in thick, crystalline armor like a scorpion, and three pairs of powerful jointed legs that shake the earth with every step it takes.

The upper body resembled a deformed human body that had been forcibly elongated, covered with a flowing dark purple energy membrane, inlaid with purple-black energy holes of varying sizes that opened and closed like eyes.

Two disproportionately long arms, ending in giant crystal scythes, hung down at his sides.

What is most chilling is its head—not a physical skull, but a sharp triangular shape made of deep purple void energy that floats and rotates above the chest cavity.

The three vertices of the triangle shimmered with an ominous crimson light, while at its center was a slowly rotating black hole that seemed capable of sucking away all light.

Void Vanguard "Boundary Breaker" - Level 10.

These are void creatures used to tear apart rifts and expand them to their limits; the moment they appear, the surrounding space becomes chaotic.

Even though the rift had already expanded to its limit, it seemed that monsters exceeding the rift's throughput capacity were emerging.

These are the Void creatures beneath the legend.

Moreover, this is a void unit that primarily serves a functional purpose, but at this point its threat level has reached its limit.

Its appearance instantly caused the surrounding low-level void creatures to retreat like a tide, prostrating themselves in awe.

The immense pressure gripped the throats of the entire team like a cold, icy hand, and the black hole at the center of the triangle slowly turned toward the wounded and teetering four-person team.

"Do not……!"

Ella's voice trembled.

"Bran! Ella! Interrupt it!!" Old Jack's eyes were bloodshot. He knew it was impossible to interrupt the arrival of a being of this level, but he still let out a final roar and tried to charge at the terrifying giant shadow.

This thing cannot be allowed to continue existing; it will accelerate the rift's consumption of void creatures, turning their previous efforts to dust.

If we say that the Soul Splitter is a key target when we have the capability, then...

Therefore, the Breaker is a unit that should be destroyed first, even if it means paying a heavy price.

If it is not destroyed, it will only lead to more serious consequences.

Mog let out a low, mournful roar, its roots digging deep into the ravaged earth, struggling to stabilize itself as a last line of defense. But it was too late.

From the top of the triangular structure in the Breaker's chest cavity, a thin, needle-like beam of pitch-black light, seemingly condensing the entire spatial rift, silently shot out.

Extremely fast!

Target—Bran!
The dwarven warlock had just used up his last potion and hadn't even had time to react.

His body, exposed while covering his teammates' movements and unable to dodge quickly due to injury, was silently pierced by the concentrated spatial rift beam.

Bran's body jerked suddenly.

There was no pain on his face, only frozen astonishment, as if he couldn't believe that death had come so suddenly.

It hit a vital spot.

There was a large hole in his chest.

Under the watchful eyes of his teammates.

The health bar above my head hasn't been completely depleted yet, there's still a chance.

The next second, his upper body, starting from his heart, was instantly torn apart, devoured, and ground up by an invisible dimensional force, before exploding with a bang.

Only his lower body remained, which was thrown out by the powerful impact and crashed heavily onto the crystallized earth, where the filthy purple quickly corroded his remains.

"Bran!!!"

Ella and old Jack simultaneously let out heart-wrenching screams.

Mog's massive body trembled violently, emitting a silent wail.

Even the body is gone!

Is it possible to be resurrected? Did the body torn apart by the void really not damage the soul?
Can souls affected by the void return to the torch?
There was no time to think.

In that moment of despair, the heavily wounded treant druid Mog burst forth with the final brilliance of his life.

He ignored the energy light from the deadly triangular object that was beginning to coalesce again and let out a roar that shook the orchard.

With all his strength, even at the cost of burning his own life-giving wood core, he mobilized all the forces of nature, transforming them into dozens of thick, python-like life roots that shimmered with intense emerald light.

Ignoring spatial distance, these roots instantly entangled the Breaker's thick, inverted cone-shaped tail and the three pairs of main legs supporting its body.

“Buzz——!!!”

The Boundary Breaker swung its terrifying giant scythe arm, instantly tearing apart most of the roots.

But Mog's binding spell, which cost him his life, was so powerful that it instantly immobilized the creature, rendering it unable to move.

However, those emerald green roots were quickly eroded and broken by the purple, buying them an extremely short period of time.

"Mogg!" Old Jack's eyes were bloodshot, but he knew this was the only chance his comrade had given his life for.

He nearly crushed the hilt of his sword, pouring all the power within him—the warrior's fighting spirit, the will to protect, and the fury over the sacrifice of his comrades—into the warrior's sword in his hand.

The sword emitted a blazing, piercing light of order.

He leaped high into the air, ignoring the massive scythe that was slashing down at him, and in a desperate act of mutual destruction, he plunged his life-burning sword into the central black hole of the triangular structure above the Breaker's chest, which was rotating and gathering energy.

"For the world! For the Night's Watch!!"

Tsk-!
It sounded like a red-hot iron being plunged into snow.

The triangular structure, imbued with terrifying void energy, was pierced by the power of order, which contained an unwavering will.

The piercing sound of shattering echoed across the battlefield.

The Boundary Breaker let out a silent yet soul-shaking scream, and the energy that constituted the triangular body and part of the body began to violently become disordered and collapse.

Its massive body began to sway, like an unstable volcano.

Ella seized this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; her eyes were red with tears and blood, and her tightly clenched lips bled.

Ignoring the excruciating pain in her shoulder, she channeled all her magic into her elven longbow, drawing not a single arrow, but three specially crafted "Void-Destroying Arrows" that gleamed with blinding silver light.
It shot fiercely at the damaged triangular structure.

The three arrows merged into one in mid-air, transforming into a silver meteor that precisely pierced the energy core of the Breaker through the wound opened by Old Jack.

"boom----!!!!"

The massive body of the Boundary Breaker exploded from the inside out.

It is, after all, a destructive entity with spatial rules, and the spatial rules it brings are unstable due to the cause of destruction.

It is precisely this power that allows the rift to undergo such changes, resulting in the emergence of more void creatures.

The terrifying shockwave tore nearby low-level void creatures to shreds and also violently threw Old Jack and Ella away, slamming them heavily to the ground.

Old Jack coughed up a mouthful of blood, a section of his chest caved in, and the Warrior's Sword flew out of his hand, embedding itself near a violently flashing spatial rift not far away.

Ella fainted on the spot, her breath coming in very weak gasps.

The explosion of the void has an unparalleled impact on the mind.

At this point, the entries on their bodies already showed signs of mental damage related to the void.

Mog had already been completely torn apart when the energy of the Breaker erupted in chaos. The massive tree trunk was charred and shattered as if struck by lightning, scattered all over the ground.

The roots turned into powder.

The two remaining survivors destroyed the first level 10 monster.

The price was the instant death of two comrades, Bran and Mogg.

In the moment of victory, all that remained was a deathly silence of despair and the bloodshed of comrades.

Old Jack struggled to get up, his bones groaning under the strain.

He groped for his sword, but his vision was blurred.

He wanted to drag the unconscious Ella back...

However, the rift in the void was not only unaffected, but it expanded even more due to the explosion.

The violently flickering, seemingly enraged spatial rift once again emitted tearing waves.

"Sizzle—sizzle—sizzle!"

Like the triple chord of death, without the slightest pause, three equally enormous and twisted figures, exuding a terrifying aura no less than that of the previous world-breaker, stepped out from the depths of the still-wailing rift like vicious hounds of hell.

They were more complete and ferocious than the previous Breaker form, their crimson triangles coldly locking onto the two humans lying on the ground and the shattered battlefield.

Old Jack looked at Ella, who had lost consciousness and was standing in front of him, then at the mangled remains of his comrades and the burning tree roots in the distance, and then at the three enormous, indifferent figures that looked down on them, representing destruction.

Despair, like an icy tide, completely overwhelmed him.

Even the power of anger seemed to have been drained.

"Hah...hah..." He choked on a mouthful of blood and foam mixed with pieces of internal organs, watching the three slowly approaching shadows of death. He struggled, using his last bit of strength, to grab one of the unconscious Ella's arms, trying to drag her behind him... even if it might be meaningless.

A grim yet incredibly resolute smile appeared on his blood-stained face.

"Hold the position...we...hold the position..." he murmured to himself, his voice weak but containing an indomitable will of steel.

In his final moments, all that remained in his vision was the outline of a massive, ominous purple scythe, raised high, and the three suffocating, abyss-like triangular figures staring into his eyes.

He did not close his eyes; his gaze was like a dying ember, fixed on the tear that symbolized the end.

It was as if with this final gaze, the coordinates of death were imprinted on the other side of the soul.

The Night's Watch oath remained, like a brand etched into his very bones, until the very last moment of his life, supporting him to straighten his broken spine.

Regardless of life or death, this place will be their last line of defense. (End of Chapter)
