In the dense forest

The mice scurried through the dense jungle.

"Food, can we find something to eat?" A mouse, gripping a dagger, patrolled the jungle, constantly sniffing the air.

At first glance, it seems to be cautiously sniffing out any signs of enemies, but the mutterings it makes reveal its true thoughts.

"You fool, get out of here! Watch out, or the Night's Watch will chop your head off!"

The ratman leading the squad turned around, slammed his elbow into the rat's forehead, and cursed.

The rat that was hit squeaked twice in pain.

"I'm starving! I'm starving to death! Even if the Night Watch comes, I'll eat him!" the patrolling mouse, clearly desperate for food, retorted defiantly.

"Idiot, keep up!"

The lead rat clearly didn't want to waste any more words with this guy. He actually wanted to eat him? That was just wishful thinking.

It's obvious at a glance that this is a new mouse that has just been released from its burrow. It has no idea how formidable the Night's Watch is. Based on those arbitrarily instilled ideas, it thinks the Night's Watch is an easy target.

Only rats who have actually fought the Night's Watch and survived can truly understand how terrifying the Night's Watch is, just like themselves.

The lead mouse kept thinking to itself, remaining vigilant as it continued to traverse the jungle.

"Let's go, let's get out of here quickly. It's too dangerous to go any further out; there might be night watchmen lying in ambush outside," another mouse couldn't help but advise.

This rat has survived two battles with the Night's Watch, but at a great cost: it has lost a piece of one ear and bears scars from the battles on its face.

"Shut up, you coward!"

The leader of the vicious rats turned around and cursed viciously.

If the other party had only brought this up for the first time now, it might have actually considered listening to their suggestion and heading back. After all, patrolling this far was considered completing its mission.

But ever since he left the fortress, this guy had been repeating that phrase in his ear, which really annoyed the rat.

They're either arrogant fools who don't know their own limitations, or cowards who are as cowardly as mice.

"Kill it, and we'll have a feast!"

The mouse shouted excitedly, but as it looked down, it saw its companions scurrying away in all directions.

"Run! The Night's Watch is coming! Run!"

The mice were terrified and scattered in all directions.

Before the mouse standing still could react, the chocobo had already landed beside it.

Before it could figure out what was happening, a flash of cold light appeared, and a sharp blade slashed towards it.

It was powerless to resist; a rat's head flew up instantly and landed on the ground with a "plop".

The rat knew very little about the outside world until its death, still harboring a desire for food, and thus lost its life. Zahanu leaped down from the chocobo, gripped the blade in his hand, and charged without hesitation toward the group of rats.

These rats were quite experienced in escaping; in such a chaotic situation, they scattered and fled in different directions, and surprisingly, there was no scene of them trampling each other.

Each mouse subconsciously chose a different route; it was just a matter of who would be unlucky enough to get caught.

Zahanu rushed over, and with a swift stroke, cleaved a rat in two.

The rat flew through the air in an arc and then slammed heavily onto the wooden stake with a "thud," clearly lifeless.

However, many more rats are still desperately trying to escape.

Zahanu leaped with all his might, smashing some branches and leaves, and after arcing through the air, landed hard on the escape route of several rats.

The moment he landed, he crushed two rats to death. After stabilizing himself with one hand, he kicked another rat that was trying to slip away, sending it flying.

The mouse tumbled away like a spinning top.

As Zahanu stood up, he swung his knife and chopped two more rats in half.

The surrounding rats gradually realized something was wrong.

These rats had all fought and survived the Night's Watch, and they knew very well the horrific slaughter that the real Night's Watch could bring in battle.

The damage inflicted by this Night Watchman was quite different from what they remembered about the Night Watchman.

Although Zahanu acted quickly, killing several rats in the blink of an eye, it wasn't fast enough.

The rats were so numerous that if the Night's Watch had been killing them at this pace, they wouldn't have been slaughtered so badly.

"If we eat his flesh, maybe we can become powerful giant rats too!"

"We'll have an endless supply of food from now on!"

Stimulated by these inflammatory words, the previously panicked rats were instantly roused to a new level of morale.

Only a few terrified rats ignored all of this and continued to desperately try to escape.

A large number of rats swarmed around Zahanu.

Zahanu remained unmoved. He took out a vial and bit it, ready to drink it at any moment.

Zahanu roared, releasing his magic with the roar, instantly causing the surrounding rats to cover their ears in pain, lower their heads, and squeak wildly while baring their teeth.

It was the only mouse that successfully blocked the attack.

Taking advantage of this gap, several rats that jumped up from behind leaped onto Zahanu's back and stabbed his back with sharp daggers.

Fresh blood instantly flowed from the wound.

Despite the pain, Zahanu rolled over, throwing the rats off his back. He stepped on one, still holding another in his hand, and slammed it down on the pile of rats.

Immediately afterwards, he swung his fist and sent another rat flying.
