Warhammer: Don't Call Me the God of All Machines

Chapter 947 Ruth: That's it?

Chapter 947 Ruth: That's it?
"Lemanlus... is still as reckless and arrogant as ever..."

"He dared to charge into my Dark Temple with only a few thousand men. Does he really think I'm still the same Loka Aurelion I used to be?"

The Great Speaker within the Dark Temple naturally noticed the commotion caused by the Space Wolf's teleportation and landing.

Luo Jia initially felt a bit flustered, but quickly calmed down completely.

This is his home turf, the world he controls. Now that he is the chosen commander of the Chaos Demon Army, how can he be so impatient?
Since Lemanrus dared to invade, he should be prepared to die here.

Moreover, after sending a distress signal to Bilak, the Lord of Shadows responded to the call and is on his way.

It's important to understand that the current Bilak is completely different from the previous Bilak. With Luo Jia's help, the four Chaos Gods have tacitly allowed it to become their power vessel and have restored its blessing power.

Although no one knows how long this blessing will last, the Four Gods are reluctant to lose this representative of their will before the war ends.

With strong support, Luo Jia's confidence immediately solidified. He even showed an eager expression on his face, looking forward to competing with Lemanrus.

“Proceed as planned, Faust. I will stop Lemanrus. He will never be able to come before you and disrupt the ceremony.”

“I will make Lemanrus watch the ritual complete. He will see the power of the High Heaven shatter humanity’s ridiculous defenses, but he will be powerless to do anything.”

Luo Jia slowly stood up, and the tip of the Enlightened Warhammer in his hand, which had been with him for many years, instantly lit up with a brilliant dark light.

Wherever the light reached, a frenzied chanting began to spread, as if pure saints were whispering.

Having received assurances from the Great Manifestor, Faust and the others were immediately reassured, and they completely trusted the Primarch's promise.

The gene seeds of the Word Bearers Legion inherently possess the ability to enhance an individual's obedience to the Primarch.

In addition, Angertai's departure took away all the "troublemakers" in the Legion who were dissatisfied with or even resentful of Lojia. Now, the Legion under Lojia's command has truly achieved 100% obedience to the Primarch.

“I will reinforce the barrier of the Dark Temple. If Lemanrus cannot even tear down my barrier, then he is not qualified to fight me.”

……

Before Lemanrus, who wields the Spear of Dionysus, the Word Bearers warriors who rushed to intercept him from all directions, or the controlled warp demons, were nothing more than cannon fodder sent to their deaths.

It is virtually impossible to suppress Lemanrus in its current state by relying on numerical superiority.

Ruth didn't even need to use the Spear of Dionysus for close combat; the psionic beams released by this artifact alone were enough to annihilate and banish a Great Demon-level Undead, or to turn a group of Word Bearers into mincemeat.

The gene archetype that liberates the essence is almost unmatched on this battlefield.

Bjorn's elite Space Wolves, on the other hand, were incredibly frenzied, tearing apart any enemy that dared to stand in their way.

Even the newly trained enchanted warriors of Luojia were not much more resilient in the face of these warriors empowered by Fenris rune magic.

The Space Wolves formed a tight battle formation, with the outermost layer led by the sons of Lemanrus, who were skilled in close combat, while the inner layer consisted of warriors proficient in long-range shooting and bombardment.

Most importantly, the hundred rune priests in the very center of the formation, under the protection of their battle brothers, are able to freely summon the power of the storm and unleash the full potential of psionic energy.

The Eye of Fear, a powerful psychic environment, greatly amplifies the power of psychics, but it also increases the risk of psychics becoming corrupted and losing control.

But none of these are problems for rune priests. This unique psionic system, derived from Fenris, has extremely high stability, which allows rune priests to maintain a high degree of synchronization while their power is amplified.

Each demon facing a rune priest is essentially facing a whole group of rune priests.

Even the rune priests were surprised; since they landed on this planet, their senses of Fenris seemed to have become clearer.

It felt as if... the spirit of Fenris was watching them silently from not far away.

In fact, the rune priests' intuition was correct, because the Spirit of Fenris had indeed left the homeworld and gone into the depths of the Eye of Terror.

At this moment, this extremely special subspace entity is lingering on the edge of the battlefield, secretly observing the development of the battle.

Out of primal caution, the Spirit of Fenris did not directly participate in this war, but secretly provided support to the rune priests, allowing them to unleash their power more freely.

The rune priests felt their power flowing endlessly, without any sense of exhaustion. They recklessly bombarded the warp demons blocking their path with psionic spells, forcibly clearing a way for their brothers in battle.

This exhilarating battle only came to a halt when Lemanrus led his troops to the very front of the Dark Temple.

King Fenris was blocked before the barrier. Ruth looked up and saw the twisted spire of the Dark Temple piercing the murky sky, appearing majestic and inviolable.

A semi-transparent psionic barrier, constantly flowing with blasphemous runes and phantom images of tormented faces, like an inverted giant bowl, firmly enveloped the entire temple.

The space wolves, already ecstatic from the carnage, would never allow themselves to be blocked by a mere psionic barrier.

One of the wolf lords roared and slammed his power axe into the barrier.

The dazzling disintegration field was pushed away by a powerful repulsive force the moment it came into contact with the barrier. The flowing electric arcs were quickly decomposed and absorbed by the runes on the surface of the barrier, leaving not a trace.

"So strong?"

Seeing that his attack had no effect, the wolf lord became a little anxious. The wolf king was watching from the side, and the half of his face covered by his thick beard suddenly turned red as if he were drunk.

However, the wolf lord's continuous attacks were ineffective, and the barrier remained firmly in place, unmoved.

The Space Wolf, armed with heavy firepower, immediately attempted to destroy the psionic barrier with high-yield molten metal bombs and plasma bombs, but to no avail.

This barrier seems to be deeply connected to the demonic world beneath our feet, constantly drawing upon the corrupt power of the entire world.

"Hand it over to the rune priest, all of you step back," Bjorn ordered in a deep voice. In front of this elder of high status, even the most arrogant Wolf Lord did not dare to be too presumptuous.

Hundreds of accompanying rune priests immediately stepped forward, raising their battle axes and staffs engraved with ancient runes. Deep chanting filled the air, and a cold mist immediately filled the atmosphere, as if bringing the frigid storms of Fenris to this hellish place.

The rune priests' psionic energy flowed like rivers converging into the sea, forming a surging torrent of energy shimmering with icy blue light, which crashed violently against the psionic barrier.

"boom--!!!"

The deafening roar shook the earth.

The point of collision of psionic energy erupted with blinding light, the barrier twisted and rippled violently, and the chaotic runes on its surface flickered wildly, as if it might collapse at any moment.

The escaping energy impact even shattered the bodies of several Word Bearers lying on the ground into countless fragments.

However, when the light faded, the barrier dimmed a bit and a few fine cracks appeared on its surface, but it still stood stubbornly.

It seemed to possess a life of its own, drawing more dark energy from the depths of the earth, and the cracks were slowly repairing themselves at a visible pace.

Deep within the temple, Luo Jia, observing the outside world through psychic vision, curled a mocking smile at the corner of his mouth.

"A futile struggle."

His whispers echoed in the empty hall, sounding like a soliloquy, yet also like a mockery.

“My brothers always look at me with the eyes of the past; they think I am still the missionary I used to be?”

"I was the first of all the Primarchs to realize that the Emperor was a god, but those fools mocked and suppressed me many times. But I know I have always been right, and the birth of the God-Emperor is the best proof."

"Although the Emperor used the God Emperor to suppress the Dark Lord, He will not remain silent forever. Sooner or later, when the end of humanity comes, the Dark Lord will awaken again and bring final liberation to humanity and even the entire Warp."

Luo Jia vented his resentment. Since no one believed in him, he was determined to prove himself.

The emperor was not the answer, nor were the four Chaos Gods; only the true god who sat atop the throne of destruction was the answer he so desperately sought.

Out of his worship of the Dark Lord and his disgust for humanity's despicable means of sealing him away, he chose to stay and thus brought about this war.

"Luojia!" Lemanrus's loud roar pierced through the psionic barrier and reached Luojia's ears.

"You dared to fight Guilliman before, but not me? No wonder a coward like you, who bullies the weak and fears the strong, has survived until now."

“Angron is dead, he has found the peace he longed for; Forgrim is dead, branded with a false mark by his own clone…”

"Only you, and that damned Hydra, you two traitors still haven't received the trial you deserve. By the way, why is Omega nowhere to be seen in this great battle? Where did he and Abaddon go?"

"Could it be that they've already fled for their lives, leaving you, the idiot, behind to clean up the mess?"

Lemanrus wasn't just blindly mocking; he was also trying to pry out even a tiny bit of information about Omega from Luo Jia.

An exposed Hydra is not scary; what is scary is not knowing where Hydra has gone or what conspiracy Hydra is plotting.

However, Luo Jia was no fool, and naturally, she wouldn't reveal information just because Lemanrus provoked her like that.

However, he was also startled, because the wolf king's last words had indeed hit the nail on the head.

Omega and Abaddon have already left this universe through the inter-universe portal and headed to unknown places, while Luo Jia plans to stay for a while longer.

"Guilliman... that was just an accident!"

A shadow crossed Luo Jia's eyes as he recalled his confrontation with Guilliman.

Those damned Macragans had a hidden anti-psychic trump card, which caught him off guard and caused him to suffer a hidden loss.

"But Lemanrus? He's nothing more than a beast that fights with instinct and brute force. Perhaps he's awakened some of his true nature now, but so what?"

Luo Jia has also completed his ascension to demonhood, and now he has a more thorough understanding of the primordial truth, confident that he can overpower Lemanrus.

He firmly believed that on this land deeply tainted by chaos, Ruth could not possibly break through this psionic barrier by brute force.

He even looked forward to seeing Russ's comical, frustrated, angry, and helpless expression after failing to break through the defenses for so long.

Outside the barrier, Lemanrus watched the gradually repaired structure, his face devoid of the anger Luo Jia had anticipated. He extended his rough fingers and gently touched the surface of the barrier; a cold, sticky, and malicious sensation traveled from his fingertips, attempting to erode his will.

"What kind of bullshit barrier is this?"

Russ chuckled and withdrew his hand.

He weighed the Dionysian Spear in his hand, forged by the emperor himself, and felt the vast power dormant within it, a power connected to his own bloodline.

“Luojia, you fool,” Russ muttered to himself. “You always think that only by hiding behind scriptures and rituals can you touch true power. You will never understand that some powers are born flowing in your blood and engraved in your soul!”

"You, who have sacrificed your very essence to the idiots of the warp, how could you possibly understand the difference between the power you possess and the power bestowed upon you by the warp?"

Lemanrus no longer suppressed himself, and the power belonging to the Primarch, to the awakened warp essence, began to surge from within him.

Centered on Lemanrus, the chaotic warp energy began to dissipate, and a pure psionic power surged like a tsunami, taking over the space of chaos.

His figure seemed unchanged, yet he appeared to be growing infinitely taller, casting a shadow that enveloped the entire area.

The air was thick with the scent of a blizzard and polar ice fields, completely out of place in this filthy world of demons.

Behind him, a giant wolf phantom made of ice, snow and lightning vaguely appeared in the void, its eyes burning with blazing stars, and its breath exhaling a cold wind that swept across the starry river.

The space wolves, feeling the sudden, biting wind, burst into enthusiastic cheers and howls, rejoicing at Lemanrus's heroic figure.

"Roar--!!!"

A roar instantly shook the entire demon world. Even Luo Jia in the Dark Temple was shocked by the roar, as he felt a very slight sluggishness in his connection with the psionic barrier.

Lemanrus gripped the Spear of Dionysus tightly with both hands, pouring the vast and boundless essence of warp power into it without reservation!
The Spear of Dionysus seemed to awaken completely from its slumber, bursting forth with a dazzling brilliance like a supernova explosion.

On the spear shaft, ancient runes burned fiercely as if ignited, and at the spear tip, energy condensed into a point of ultimate radiance. That light was so pure and so powerful, as if it contained the great power to create the galaxy!

"Break it for me!"

Ruth let out a thunderous roar, his arm muscles bulging, and thrust the burning Dionysian Spear fiercely at the seemingly indestructible psionic barrier!
No sound.

Or rather, the sound was erased by a more powerful being.

Only light.

A beam of ultimate light that tears through all darkness, annihilates all filth, and pierces through reality and illusion!

The moment the spear tip touched the barrier, the spiritual energy barrier that combined Luo Jia's spiritual power with the entire world silently began to shatter inch by inch from the point of contact.

The barrier, like glass struck by an invisible hammer, cracks instantly spread throughout its entirety, and then—

"boom!!"

A terrifying shockwave swept outwards, blowing away the Word Bearers and demons behind the barrier like straws, and even causing huge cracks to appear in the sturdy outer walls of the Dark Temple.

The barrier shattered.

Lemanrus, holding the Dionysian Spear whose light was fading but whose hum was still incessant, stood at the entrance to the shattered barrier, like the father of the gods who had stepped out of Norse mythology.

He surveyed the depths of the temple with disdain, his voice like the cold winds of Fenris sweeping across the desolate battlefield.

"Luojia! Your turtle shell is broken. Now, come out and face your death!"

Inside the Dark Temple, the arrogance and confidence on Luo Jia Aurelion's face froze completely, replaced by an incredulous look of horror.

"How can this be?"

"Lemanrus... he actually possesses such power?"

As the controller of the psionic barrier, Luo Jia could clearly sense just how powerful Russ's attack had been.

It's fair to say that even if he were to attack, he wouldn't be able to shatter the psionic barrier in one strike.

Does this mean that Lemanrus's strength is also above his?
Luo Jia almost instinctively rejected the idea; he couldn't accept that even the barbarians of Fenris could bully him.

He has completely integrated into the warp, even upgrading his life form to the primordial body. He studies the essence of chaos day and night, comprehending those complex and profound aetheric powers. If he is still not as good as Lemanrus after all this time, then what exactly has he been busy with?
Guilliman's anti-psychic abilities counter his power, so he can't beat him; Leman Russ's power is too violent, so he can't beat him; Ryan Johnson is stronger than Leman Russ, so he can't beat him either. So who can he beat?

"My lord, the ceremony is almost complete!"

Just as Luo Jia was in a state of utter confusion, Faust called out to her, pulling her back to reality.

"Yes, the ceremony is about to be completed. This is what I need to do. Everything else is unimportant."

"You guys carry on, I'll hold off Lemanrus and the Space Wolf for you. Damn it, why isn't Birac here yet?!"

After Luo Jia finished speaking, he directly picked up his Enlightened Warhammer, and with a casual wave of his hand, a powerful spiritual energy rose from the weapon.

The Great Speaker rushed out of the Dark Temple, and the enchanted warriors and chaos demons who were being slaughtered by the Space Wolves immediately saw a savior and hurriedly fled to Luo Jia's side.

After many years, Lemanrus finally saw the demon-ascended Loka Aurelion with his own eyes.

Its massive body, nearly seven meters tall, was covered in scarlet armor composed of writhing scrolls and wailing faces, with bone spikes protruding menacingly from its joints and shoulder armor like vicious thickets of thorns.

On the head of the Great Speaker, five twisted horns resembled a dark crown, and the iron halo behind his head no longer symbolized reason, but instead burned with an ominous, blood-red light.

The Enlightened Warhammer in his hand, once a symbol of enlightenment, is now wreathed in filthy psionic lightning and exudes a nauseating, oppressive aura.

However, when faced with this demonic Primarch that could instill fear in mortals and even ordinary Astartes, Lemanrus simply grinned, revealing his gleaming white teeth.

He spat a mouthful of blood-tinged saliva onto the ground covered with skulls.

"Luojia, you do look more impressive than before."

"I just don't know if your abilities match your appearance."

Without further warning, Ruth launched a sudden attack like a giant wolf pouncing.

The Dionysian Spear in his hand transformed into a golden lightning bolt that tore through the air, piercing straight for Luo Jia's heart, which was covered by a thick breastplate.

Luo Jia let out a low growl mixed with anger and contempt, and swung the Enlightened Warhammer to meet the attack.

The moment the warhammer and spear collided, a terrifying roar comparable to the clash of Titans erupted.

The shockwave spread in a ring, turning everything within a radius of tens of meters into dust.

Do you really think I'm afraid of you?

Luo Jia roared, and a massive amount of spiritual energy surged from his body. His figure began to expand further, attempting to crush Russ with his absolute size advantage.

Seeing Luo Jia try to suppress him with her size, Lemanrus couldn't help but sneer inwardly.

These are all tricks that Magnus had left over from back then, and only Luo Jia would keep them as trump cards until the most critical moment.

"Grow bigger? Anyone can do that!" Russ roared, the power of the warp essence responding to his will, and surging psionic energy immediately began to twist his body.

His body also began to grow rapidly, his muscles bulged, and his bones made thunderous cracking sounds. In the blink of an eye, he reached the physique of a Titan who could rival Luo Jia.

Two giants, seemingly emerging from the age of mythology, engaged in a fierce battle on this blasphemous land.

Luo Jia attempted to bind Rus with psychic energy, and countless chains made of shadows emerged from the void, reaching for the wolf king's limbs.

But Ruth was surrounded by an extreme cold storm originating from Fenris, and the chains were frozen and shattered the moment they touched the storm.

He thrust out a spear with his other hand, and the icy blue psionic lightning pounced on Luo Jia like an angry dragon, forcing the latter to raise a shield made of a chaotic eight-pointed star to barely block it, but the shield was already covered with cracks.

Rus seized the opportunity to charge forward, his Dionysian Spear piercing through Luo Jia's warhammer defenses like a venomous snake, tearing a huge wound on his breastplate that burned with golden flames.

The Primarch let out a painful roar and slammed his hammer down on Ruth's shoulder armor, leaving a crack that emitted ominous black smoke.

After some probing, the two Primarchs engaged in a battle that escalated into its most primal and bloody phase.

The two Primarchs abandoned their flashy psionic clashes and instead grappled with each other like in a street brawl, attacking each other with fists, knees, headbutts, and any part of their bodies they could use.

Luo Jia's bone spurs were broken by the wolf king, and one of Ru Si's teeth was knocked out by Luo Jia's fist. Both of their armors were tattered, revealing their equally scarred but still frantically healing bodies.

However, as time went by, the scales of victory began to tip.

Lemanrus's battle instincts honed through countless real combat experiences, along with the Dionysian Spear's natural restraint on the power of chaos, began to give the Wolf King the upper hand.

Although Luo Jia's psionic energy was immense, it appeared somewhat bloated and sluggish in the face of Rus's fighting style, which combined wild intuition with pure violence.

After a brilliant feint, Ruth deflected Luo Jia's powerful swing of the warhammer, creating a fatal opening for his opponent!

"It's over, Luojia!"

The Spear of Dionysus seemed to transcend the limitations of time and space, carrying all of Ruth's rage and power, and pierced with unparalleled precision the vulnerable point connecting the Enlightened Warhammer and Luo Jia's arm.

"Crack!"

With a piercing sound of metal breaking, the warhammer that had accompanied Luo Jia through the long years flew out of his hand and crashed heavily to the ground, its surface instantly dimming.

The spear of Dionysus continued its momentum and, to Luo Jia's horrified gaze, pierced his chest!
The golden spear tip emerged from his back, carrying a spray of scorching, sulfurous demon blood.
