Chapter 381: Killing the False Emperor
Chapter 381: Killing the False Emperor
"Dear Indomitable Truth, I'm back again."
Koz solidified into a solid entity again in the teleportation beam. Midnight Ghost supported himself on the ground with his right hand and slowly stood up from a crouching position. He proudly shook off his demon cloak and strode through the huge passage.
Although he promised Luo Xi that he would not kill Ryan's minions, he had no intention of acting in secret. After all, Koz had his own unique logic.
"I'm here to infiltrate, but as long as I knock out everyone who sees me, then of course it counts as infiltrating."
Koz looked at the old friends in his hands, hesitated for a moment, and retracted his kindness and forgiveness.
Fists are enough to deal with the little guys of the Dark Angels, and that annoying big cat of Caliban is not on the ship anyway.
The once densely populated Indomitable Truth now seems a little deserted. The vast majority of Astartes and mortals have been transferred to the new legion flagship, leaving only a small number of people to man and guard the Glorious Queen.
"If I had Corax's psychic stealth, I wouldn't have to go through so much trouble. The Emperor is still unfair after all. Why does Corax have it but I don't?"
In fact, Koz has always envied his Raven brother, not only because of his true stealth ability, but also because the other party's life trajectory is similar to his and yet completely different.
Subconsciously, Koz even imagined whether his fate would be completely different if he had fallen on the Redemption Planet.
Corax possesses the good possibilities that he fantasizes about.
"That old man Ryan, he also took away the machine soul of the Indomitable Truth? After all, the Indomitable Truth has made great achievements in the war, but he actually treated her like this?"
Conrad was keenly aware of the changes in the Indomitable Truth. He used to wander around every corner of this battleship and was even able to communicate with the battleship's machine soul using psychic power, but now the familiar machine soul has disappeared without a trace.
He began to rush towards the direction where Sevatar was imprisoned in the psychic prophecy. A dark phantom wandered in the corridors and pipes of the battleship like a gust of wind passing by.
The closer he got to the area where various dangerous aliens and valuable captives captured by the Dark Angels were imprisoned, the stronger the guards Curze felt. Those silent veterans of the First Legion were stationed outside the prison, guarding against any possible threats.
And now, the threat is Conrad Kurtz himself.
Midnight Haunter walked out of the darkness that had been hiding his whereabouts. He appeared behind a Dark Angel veteran and was about to knock him out from behind when the veteran spotted Curze with his incredible intuition.
Everything happened in an instant, and even Koz was a little surprised by the other party's agility.
It was rare for an Astartes to be able to detect a Primarch's attack, especially one like Conrad who was good at concealment and sneak attacks.
Just when Curze was about to knock the Space Marine out by force, the other party turned back as if he didn't see him, and walked away from his post.
Koz: ???
He could accept the Dark Angel drawing his sword, or fight back with the plasma gun he carried with him. Even if the other party wanted to fight him to the death, he could expect the other party to activate the alarm to summon reinforcements.
But what does it mean to not see him? To think he doesn't exist?
The unwilling Midnight Haunter made the same threats to several other Dark Angels, but the ending broke Curze's heart.
When the Sons of Ryan saw him, it was as if they had anticipated his behavior, and no one stopped or resisted his invasion.
It was as if they had received some kind of order long ago. When they met Conrad Curze, they gave up all their vigilance and defense and let him pass.
Curze unwillingly wandered around in front of these veterans of the First Legion, and even showed mercy and forgiveness by putting it on their necks, but the Dark Angels remained unmoved.
"Ryan!" Midnight Haunter cursed.
Curze, who originally wanted to play a trick on Ryan's descendants, suddenly lost interest. He understood that the Caliban man was using this invisible method to tell him that he already knew about Curze's actions and was not interested in them at all.
For a man who loves fun, the audience's indifference is the most hurtful. He simply took off his helmet, walked through the open cage with hatred, and went straight to his eldest son Sevatar.
"Sevatar!"
Curze broke into a single cell and saw his proudest son, the true master of the Eighth Legion, hanging in the air with chains. Sevatar's power armor was stripped off, and he even had a sealer on his mouth to prevent the acidic saliva from overflowing.
The thin alloy chains, already bloodstained and emitting a horrible stench, pierced Sevata's collarbone. The imprisoned Night Lords Captain maintained a contemptuous sneer. His pale skin and pitch-black eyes were typical Night Lord features, but what was striking was that the scar from Sevata's cut upper lip merged with a scar over his left eye, lending him a colder aura.
"Father?"
Sevatar, who was imprisoned by the Dark Angel, was stunned for a moment. His tightly furrowed brows relaxed slightly in surprise, and the scar on his upper lip moved as if it had revived. He could not believe the authenticity of the person in front of him.
He tried to use his psychic powers to read the mind of the person in front of him, but the Dark Angel had already blocked his psychic perception with the bones of the Untouchables.
Jago Severtarion, also known as the Prince of Crows, was a well-known and powerful warrior in the Great Crusade. He once fought with Sigismund of the Imperial Fists in the arena for a whole day and night, and finally defeated the Black Knight with a headbutt.
For such a powerful man, his background has long been known by the Dark Angels, who specifically use the Untouchables to deal with his psychic powers.
Sevatar has been imprisoned here since he was captured, and since his psychic power has been sealed, he has never been able to figure out what is happening outside.
But based on his observations of the Dark Angels guards, he discovered that the First Legion seemed to have returned to the Sol System, and most of the garrison forces had been transferred away.
"There's no time to explain." Koz deliberately shouted loudly, giving the Dark Angels enough time to evacuate.
Sevatar looked at his gene father's confusing operation in confusion. Even if he came to save him, there was no need to make it so public, right? Or was it that the flagship of the First Legion had been besieged and captured by the rebels, and Curze was calling for support from other legions?
The Prince of Crows perfectly controlled the entire Eighth Legion in the absence of the Primarch. Under his rule, the Night Lords obeyed orders, were selfless and fearless, flexible and adaptable, and managed to delay the First Legion for several years by defeating the strong with the weak.
Golden sparks of mercy and forgiveness flashed, and the chains that bound Sevatar were easily cut off, and Curze freed his son.
Although Sevatar didn't understand what was going on, he still quickly grasped the piece of chain that the Primarch had cut off. Then Conrad shrugged, took out a meat-cleaver-shaped power sword from his body, and some throwing knives called Widowmakers and gave them to his son.
"I know you have a lot of questions. Once we escape from here with your brothers, I will reveal them to you one by one. Now, follow me and fight your way out!"
Prince Crow activated his father's power sword in his hand. This power weapon was slightly larger in size, but with his martial arts skills he still wielded it easily and cut through more cages and chains.
There are only six Black Armored Guards left of the former Primarch's Royal Guards, the Night Lords. These veterans of the Night Lords witnessed Curze's arrival with great excitement. Their father broke into the Dark Angels' cage and saved them.
Koz looked at his sons' admiring eyes somewhat helplessly. He didn't know how to explain the current situation to them.
Telling them that your father betrayed the Empire from the beginning of the war, was captured by the Dark Angels and then returned to the Empire? This sounds completely crazy.
"Well, I'm crazy anyway."
Captain Sevatar and the Black Armored Guards surrounded the Gene-Father. None of them wore power armor and ran wildly in the battleship completely naked.
"Kill the false emperor!" Sevatar roared, his voice echoing rapidly in the cabin.
"Oh no!" Koz suddenly felt something was wrong. As Sevatar shouted the slogan to kill the false emperor, he clearly felt that the suppressed murderous intent of the dark angels suddenly surged.
Lion had ordered them to let down their guard, but for the Astartes, insulting the Emperor was an act of utter blasphemy.
Especially the First Legion that once followed the Emperor personally. At that time, they were not called this name. The Heavenly Army or the Angels of Death were their exclusive nicknames. Many people within the legion were even dissatisfied with Lion. After all, compared with the Lord of Mankind, Lion was still far behind.
Before Koz could explain, he grabbed the disobedient Sevatar's arm and ran away with his remaining cubs like an eagle catching chicks.
"Where is the pick-up ship? Show us the way!" Koz shouted. He was not afraid of those Ryan's brats, but his son didn't even have armor, and he couldn't let him die here in vain.
He frantically urged Roxi to give directions, and behind him he heard the sound of the Dark Angels gathering. Some warriors seemed to have a different understanding of Ryan's orders, and his Caliban brothers did not seem to have 100% control over their legion.
"Follow my guidance." As soon as Luo Xi's voice fell, an escape route immediately appeared on Koz's tactical helmet, leading directly to a small cruiser that was ready.
Around the Indomitable Truth, a cruiser whose engine had already been preheated picked up Coates and his crew. The automatic cruise system on board immediately sped towards Mandeville Point under the control of the program.
