Chapter 277: Koz, the Book Lover

"Go ahead, Guilliman, what bad news do you have for me? I am ready for it."

Although he was extremely reluctant, Guilliman still came to the accommodation where Lion was staying. He hesitated at the door for a few seconds, but before he knocked on the door, the Lion King in the room spoke.

"Your footsteps are too obvious. Unless I am too old to be deaf and blind, there is no way I can mistake your voice." Lion took the initiative to push open the door. He saw a strange expression on Guilliman's face and immediately began to be warned.

I'm afraid his brother is going to give him another big one.

Guilliman remained silent. He wanted to use his outstanding eloquence, but found that he didn't know how to start.

"Don't you know that you are not good at lying, Roboute? Your footsteps, your heartbeat, and your facial expressions have already revealed everything."

"You don't know how to use lies, so you were deceived by Luo Jia in the first place."

The Lion King's sharp gaze cut through him like a knife. Guilliman gritted his teeth and simply confessed.

Anyway, what has happened has already happened, and it can't get any worse.

"Our brother, Vulkan, was assassinated. He was pierced through the chest and heart by a lightning stone short spear. I don't know if he can be resurrected again."

The lion's pupils suddenly shrank to the size of a needle tip, and then a trace of incredible shock and indescribable confusion flashed across his eyes.

Then Ryan suddenly laughed out loud, as if he had heard some unbearable joke.

"Guilliman, you better be joking. This joke of yours is taking it too far."

"You better not have the guts to joke with a brother's life."

Then Guilliman's expression did not change at all, and the smile on Lion's face gradually faded and cooled.

"I have doubted your loyalty countless times, but I have never doubted your incompetence because that would be an insult to you. Tell me what you are going to do."

Guilliman led the Lion to the golden coffin that held Vulkan's body, where he was laid to rest in a hallowed memorial.

The top of the golden coffin was made of transparent glass. Vulkan's naked body had been replaced with a set of Guilliman's personal armor. He looked majestic and sacred, but his eyes were still closed.

His Dawnbringer hammer rested with its head upward against the Fire Dragon Lord's chest, and the lightning stone spear that had taken his life was still there, and they could not remove it.

Vulkan was so quiet that Ryan could not hear the slightest sound of his blood flowing or his heart beating.

There was a hidden sorrow in the Lion King's eyes. Although he almost killed Vulkan in order to subdue his brother, it did not mean that he had no feelings for his brother.

"I plan to ask that person, the cursed one who should not show up again." Guilliman looked at Lion, "He has the strongest psychic prophecy ability among us. Perhaps we can make the right choice by referring to his prophecy."

The person Guilliman was referring to was naturally the Night Haunter who was imprisoned in the most secure cage on Macragge.

His psychic prophetic abilities surpass those of any other psychic think tank, and he can see into the extremely distant future.

"Why would you have such a stupid idea to seek advice from that lunatic? You might as well just make a decision on your own."

"Why not just launch Vulcan's golden coffin into the universe, wait for him to revive, and then use the teleportation ability to come back? I think this is more reliable."

Ryan scoffed at this. He and Midnight Haunter had a deep hatred, and the vengeful lion could never forget the lesson of the other party's reckless behavior on his flagship.

Although Ryan once used the Lion King's Flying Head Fist on a legion soldier in extreme anger, he regretted it afterwards. The lion, who is extremely protective of his offspring, will never forget the brave warriors who died at the hands of Koze.

"Then tell me, do you have any good idea?" Guilliman asked back.

"Vulcan's death is not my fault. I was just on the same boat with you and was forced to bear the consequences with you." Ryan said a few words, but still shrugged helplessly and said, "Let's go and ask the damn Conrad what he wants to say."

"If he dares to say something incomprehensible in that hissing Nostramo language again, I will definitely tear his head off this time."

The Lion King's face was grim, and he was extremely impatient with his traitorous brother.

Guilliman and Lion went alone to the prison where Konrad Curze was imprisoned, without any aides.

All of this needs to be kept secret for the time being.

After passing numerous security checks and identity verifications, Guilliman used his uniquely powerful brain to begin the unlocking process in front of a maximum-security Cogitator computer. He learned from the previous experience of Konrad Curze, who had used the same genetic information between the Primarchs to escape, and switched to a more secure and complex encryption method.

Ryan took two steps forward without leaving a trace. His curiosity about the secret made him unable to restrain his actions.

Then he looked closely and saw Guilliman operating hundreds of screens on the Thinker computer at the same time. His fingers flew so fast that he was answering hundreds of extremely difficult questions at the same time.

Those questions involved history, politics, physical sciences, humanities, and even some obscure ancient information from the Five Hundred Worlds. Unless one had a deep understanding of Macragge, it would be impossible to answer them in such a short time.

Is this your secret method of keeping secrets? Guilliman.

The corner of Lion's mouth twitched. He found that even for him, it would be difficult to break through this line of defense. Among the Primarchs, only Guilliman was the best at this kind of multi-threaded thinking. Few brothers would be as interested in such complicated things as he was.

The brains of the Primarchs were the product of the Emperor's incredible technology, capable of rivaling even a supercomputer in computing power.

Theoretically, every Primarch can master most of the knowledge in the galaxy. They can be great physicists, chemists, biologists or writers, but most of the time they prefer to use their super powers to solve problems.

The two passed by the melee iron man named Veronica. In this room, apart from Conrad, there were only some automatic robot servants with their brains removed walking around, and the automatic cleaning system could keep the room running for a long time.

In the prison made of pure gold, Conrad sat on the ground with his back against his bed, holding a thick paper book in his hands.

His messy, greasy black hair was washed and tied behind his head, revealing his smooth, pale facial skin.

As descendants of the Emperor, none of the Primarchs are ugly. They all have their own strengths and beauty, even the Night Haunter is no exception.

There was an odd sense of calmness that lingered about Conrad.

Koz seemed unaware of the arrival of his two brothers, and was reading the ancient classic "The Old Man and the Sea" in his hand.

This is a unique copy that Luo Xi found from his own database and wrote on parchment in a more traditional way. He hopes that it can inspire the prisoner in the cage.

Guilliman condoned Roche's actions and even regularly sent new books to his traitorous brother. He hoped that Curze would change, even if it was just a little bit.

Ryan felt a little uncomfortable with the environment here. There were a large number of skeletons of untouchables placed in the room. These anti-psychic treasures made him feel uneasy. The claustrophobic environment made Ryan very uncomfortable.

"I have to thank you. The frequency of my prophetic hallucinations has greatly decreased since I stayed here, and I can stay awake most of the time."

“Only when you are lost for a long time will you know the value of peace and clarity.”

Curze closed the book and spoke to Guilliman.

"You are here too, my dear big cat brother." The unique Nostramo accent of Koz immediately made Ryan's hair stand on end, but he could not do anything to the Midnight Haunter even through the adamantium fence.

"Vulkan is dead. Two mortal psykers assassinated him." Guilliman said silently.

Conrad didn't seem surprised at all. After all, he had seen Vulkan die in his psychic vision before.

"We want to know what will become of Vulkan, and whether our brother will be left in silence."

Konrad stood up, and even without his power armor he was as tall as both Guilliman and the Lion.

"Are you idiots? I can't use my prophetic powers here, so how can I tell you the answer?"

Ryan quickly drew out his lion sword, while Midnight Haunter fearlessly put his head between the railings, squeezing his flesh and continuing to provoke the lion.

"During this time, I have been here thinking about the future, the prophecies I have seen, the visions I have heard, and how my justice will proceed."

"The future is not static. It changes all the time. But at least I have seen Vulkan die and be resurrected. He will stand beside his father and become his last insurance."

Guilliman was surprised by Conrad's new realization. He vaguely felt that his brother seemed a little different.

"A man can be destroyed but not defeated." Conrad closed his eyes and recited these words silently.

"Yes, I can be destroyed, but I cannot be defeated."
