Traveling back thirty years to Conan, intercepting Princess Eri

Chapter 506 I Don't Like Black Guys Either

The gunman, holding his gun, swept the fire along the rows of wardrobes, bullets piercing the thin sheet metal and leaving behind a dense array of bullet holes.

The clothes in the wardrobe were smashed to pieces, with cotton wadding and fabric scraps flying everywhere.

Lin Xiuyi lay on top of the wardrobe, not daring to breathe.

He could clearly hear the "thud" of bullets piercing the metal sheet, and even feel the wardrobe shaking slightly from the vibration.

He kept his eyes tightly closed, his body trembling slightly with nervousness.

When the gunman was firing, if the muzzle was even slightly tilted upwards by just a few centimeters, the bullet could very well penetrate his body.

"Fuck! Aren't you here?"

After firing through all the wardrobes, but not hearing the expected screams, the gunman became enraged and cursed.

Unwilling to give up, he searched the locker room again, kicking over a stool and shoving a locker door. After confirming that no one was inside, he picked up his gun, cursing, and walked out of the locker room to continue searching other parts of the stadium.

Only when he heard the gunman's footsteps gradually fade away did Lin Xiuyi finally breathe a long sigh of relief, and his tense body instantly relaxed.

He reached up and touched his forehead, finding it covered in cold sweat. The back of his clothes was also soaked with sweat, clinging tightly to his body and feeling icy cold.

Those few minutes felt like an eternity, every second filled with life-or-death crises.

But Lin Xiuyi did not let his guard down completely. He was worried that the gunman would return and search the locker room again.

Therefore, he remained perched on top of the wardrobe, listening intently to the sounds outside.

Scattered gunshots and the shouts of gunmen could still be heard occasionally from inside the stadium, clearly indicating that the other side was still frantically searching for his whereabouts.

Lin Xiu waited patiently until the gunshots and shouts outside completely disappeared, leaving only the faint sound of police sirens in the distance, before he carefully climbed down from the top of the wardrobe.

The moment his feet touched the ground, Lin Xiuyi almost fell because his legs went weak. He grabbed the wardrobe, steadied himself, and began looking for a way out.

Lin Xiuyi pressed herself against the cold door of the changing room, holding her breath and peering out through the crack in the door.

The stadium was well-lit, and the gunmen were nowhere to be seen in the empty space, but the sporadic gunshots coming from afar could be clearly heard.

The other side was clearly still searching for him in the upper level of the stadium.

Lin Xiuyi knew very well that she absolutely could not go out rashly now.

The center of the stadium is completely exposed; once you're in the shooter's line of sight, the probability of being shot is almost 100%.

However, hiding in the locker room all the time is not a long-term solution.

The gunman's frenzy as he opened fire on the wardrobe was still fresh in my mind. If the gunman returned after finding nothing and searched the place again, I might not be so lucky to escape again.

Lin Xiuyi's gaze swept across the direction of the stadium entrance, less than twenty meters from the locker room. If he could rush there, he could escape.

But the key is how to distract the gunman.

His gaze fell on a discarded Coca-Cola can on the floor, and an idea immediately came to him.

Lin Xiuyi slowly squatted down, carefully picked up the can, and once again checked the gunman's location through the crack in the door.

The footsteps and gunshots came from the upper stands, clearly not directly opposite the locker room.

He took a deep breath, gently pushed the door open just wide enough for an arm to stick out, and then threw the can in the opposite direction from the stadium door.

"Clang-"

The cans rolled across the floor with a screeching sound, drawing attention in the empty stadium.

Almost the instant the sound rang out, a barrage of gunfire erupted from the upper stands: "Bang! Bang! Bang!" The bullets flew toward the direction the can had rolled, striking the floor and sending sparks flying.

"Success!"

Lin Xiuyi was overjoyed. Taking advantage of the moment when the gunman's attention was completely drawn to the other side, he slipped out of the locker room silently like a nimble cat, and moved quickly towards the door while keeping close to the wall of the gymnasium.

On the way, he glanced up quickly at the upper stands and vaguely saw the gunman lying on the railing, firing continuously at the direction of the soda cans, completely unaware of the commotion below.

With trepidation and extreme caution in every step, Lin Xiuyi finally made it to the entrance of the stadium.

He turned around to make sure the gunman hadn't noticed him, then immediately opened the door and rushed out, his heart still pounding from the near-death experience.

However, before he could even breathe a sigh of relief, a loud shout suddenly came from the window of a nearby teaching building: "That Asian kid ran out of the gymnasium!"

"Damn it!" Lin Xiuyi cursed inwardly.

The shout was so loud that it must have alerted the gunmen inside the stadium.

He didn't have time to think much. His gaze swept around and he realized that the experimental building where Eri and the others were hiding was obviously no longer a safe place to go back to. The only place left was the auditorium not far away.

That was the place where he had just given his speech; the terrain was relatively familiar to him.

Without hesitation, Lin Xiuyi immediately took off running towards the auditorium.

He had only run a few steps when he heard the sound of the stadium door being kicked open behind him.

The gunman had already rushed out, his eyes scanning the surroundings.

Just then, a Black student hiding in the bushes nearby poked his head out and shouted in Lin Xiuyi's direction, "He ran to the auditorium!"

"Thanks, nigger!"

As the gunman spoke, he suddenly raised his gun and fired several shots at the black student.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The bullet struck the Black student in the chest without warning.

His smugness froze instantly, replaced by astonishment and disbelief. His lips trembled as he asked, "W-why?"

"I hate Japanese people, but I don't like black people either!"

The gunman gave a cruel sneer, then ignored the black student lying on the ground and quickly chased after him towards the auditorium with his gun.

The sudden shot completely terrified all the students hiding in the shadows.

Even if someone noticed Lin Xiuyi's movements, no one dared to speak up and offer any advice, as no one wanted to become the next victim.

When Lin Xiuyi rushed into the auditorium, a strong smell of blood hit her.

He frowned subconsciously, his gaze sweeping across the interior of the auditorium, where he saw several people lying on the floor.

Some were students in school uniforms, and some were school staff; they were all motionless, clearly victims of the shooting that had just taken place.

He suppressed his discomfort and began looking for a hiding place.

He initially considered hiding behind the curtains on either side of the stage, but the thought of the gunman's frenzy as he sprayed bullets at the wardrobes immediately dissuaded him from the idea.

The curtain was utterly ineffective against bullets; once discovered, it meant certain death… (End of Chapter)
