The bathroom was in a corner on the first floor. The lights were off at night, and only a little moonlight shone in through the window, making it somewhat dim.

Kogoro Mouri yawned as he walked, sleepiness gradually creeping in.

He pushed open the bathroom door and was about to take off his pants when he caught a glimpse of something on the glass next to him out of the corner of his eye.

He approached with suspicion and took a closer look, but what he saw terrified him.

There was a hideous ghost face stuck to the glass!

A deathly pale face, sunken eye sockets, and dark red "blood" dripping from the corner of its mouth—it was staring intently at him!
Before Kogoro Mouri could even scream, his eyes rolled back and he fell straight backward.

……

Late at night, the courtyard of Cao's family in the mountain village was completely silent.

Liuli tiptoed and moved carefully along the base of the wall.

Her face was adorned with grotesque ghost makeup, and the night wind blew her disheveled long hair, making her appear particularly eerie in the moonlight.

"Why is this damn door locked so tightly..." Liuli muttered in frustration, trying to push the back door, but it wouldn't budge.

She turned towards the bathroom, and suddenly her eyes lit up – the window there was half-open!

Liuli crept closer, preparing to climb through the window, when she heard a soft rustling sound coming from inside.

Curious, she leaned closer to the glass and happened to meet Kogoro Mouri's horrified gaze as he unbuckled his belt.

Ruri watched helplessly as Kogoro Mouri's eyes rolled back, and he fell straight down like a log with a dull thud.

"Oops, oops..."

Liuli stood there helplessly, her ghostly makeup unable to conceal her panicked expression.

She frantically pounded on the window: "Kogoro? Kogoro!"

"what happened?"

Yukiko, Eri Kisaki, Hiromi Yabuuchi, and Reiko heard the commotion and rushed over from all corners of the yard.

Yukiko's "funny face" still had a few leaves stuck to it, Eri's fake scar had some glue coming off at the edges, and Reiko had a blade of grass stuck in her disheveled hair.

Seeing Liuli poking at the bathroom window with a mournful face, the group followed her gaze and looked into the bathroom.

Kogoro Mouri lay stiffly on the ground, his arms still in the position of taking off his pants, looking both comical and pitiful.

"Pfft..." Yukiko hurriedly covered her mouth, but still let out a soft laugh, which pulled at the fake scar on her face, making her wince in pain.

Eri pushed up her glasses, her gaze behind the lenses a mixture of helplessness and amusement.

Hiromi Yabuuchi laughed so hard she bent over, while Reiko's face turned bright red from holding it in.

"I...I didn't mean to..." Liuli said, her face contorted with grief, her voice trembling with tears, "Who knew he was in the bathroom at the time..."

"Never mind that," Yukiko wiped away her tears of laughter, "Let's go in and see if they're still alive."

Five "female ghosts" hurriedly climbed into the bathroom through the half-open window.

Kogoro Mori collapsed to the ground, foam still hanging from the corner of his mouth.

Eri Kisaki knelt down and checked his breath: "He's still alive, he just fainted from fright."

“Help him onto the toilet,” Yukiko had a sudden inspiration, “and have him pose as if he’s deep in thought.”

Following Lin Xiuyi's previous instructions, Lingzi placed a mop diagonally behind the door.

Five "female ghosts" walked out, and as the bathroom door was gently closed, the mop fell down with a "thud," blocking the door.

"Perfect!" Yukiko snapped her fingers triumphantly. "Next, it's time to go find the real deal."

The five "female ghosts" exchanged smiles and tiptoed towards the living room. ...

In the living room, Lin Xiuyi stared at the Monopoly board and impatiently tapped the table: "Why has Kogoro been gone for so long and still hasn't come back?"

"Maybe he ate something bad," Yamamura Misao scratched his head. "Should we go get him?"

Hidekazu Fukuda stood up: "I'll go find him. I also need to use the restroom."

The corridor was quiet, with only the sound of his footsteps echoing.

When he arrived at the bathroom door, Fukuda Hidekazu tried to push it, but it wouldn't budge.

"Kogoro?"

He knocked on the door, but there was no response.

"Could she have fallen asleep inside?"

Fukuda Hidekazu frowned, preparing to walk around to the outside of the yard and peek inside the bathroom through the glass.

But as soon as he turned around, before he could even take a step, he saw a blood-stained, dark-eyed ghost face staring at him, with less than two steps between them!

Fukuda Hidekazu was so frightened that his face turned pale, his legs went weak, and he leaned against the bathroom door behind him.

"Hehe, scared you, huh?" the "demon" suddenly spoke, his voice carrying a familiar laugh.

Fukuda Hidekazu was startled, staring at the ghostly face with suspicion and uncertainty.

Several more ghostly faces peeked out from the shadows beside him, some with long tongues sticking out, some with faces covered in blood, and a tiny female ghost grinning at him.

"you……"

Fukuda Hidekazu instinctively tried to scream, but the demon in front of him suddenly stepped forward and covered his mouth with its hand.

"Hidekazu, it's me!"

"Hiromi?" Fukuda Hidekazu immediately recognized his lover's voice, and his heart, which had been hanging in suspense, instantly settled. "What...what are you doing? Dressing up as ghosts to scare people?"

"Otherwise what?" Hiromi Yabuuchi chuckled. "It's all to scare Hideichi Hayashi! That guy said there are no ghosts in the world during the day, so we're going to make him see for himself!"

“I was going to scare Shuichi first,” Yukiko said, pursing her lips, “but I ended up scaring Kogoro unconscious first. He’s still sleeping soundly in the bathroom.”

Hiromi Yabuuchi leaned closer to Hidekazu Fukuda, narrowing her eyes menacingly: "You'll help me, won't you?"

Fukuda Hidekazu, looking at his girlfriend's "funny face" so close to his face, swallowed hard: "This..."

"Hmm?" Hiromi Yabuuchi moved closer.

“Of course!” Fukuda Hidekazu immediately straightened his back. “I will always stand by your side.”

Hiromi Yabuchi smiled contentedly, tiptoed, and kissed him on the cheek: "This is a reward."

“Hey, we’re talking about serious stuff,” Yukiko interrupted impatiently. “Don’t show off your love in front of us.”

Eri pushed up her glasses: "The problem now is that we need an inside man."

“Leave it to me,” Fukuda Hidekazu patted his chest. “I’ll go and lure Shuichi over here.”

"Don't go after him yet," Yukiko said with a mischievous grin. "Let's scare everyone else first, and then we'll all go scare Shuichi together! He'll be all alone then, and the effect will definitely be better!"

"Also, be careful not to scare Zero and Misao," Eri reminded them. "They're young, don't let them develop psychological trauma."

Ruri was still worried about her boyfriend in the bathroom: "What about Kogoro? We can't just let him 'ponder' on the toilet forever, can we?"

“Let him out after we’re done,” Yukiko thought for a moment. “If we release him now and he wakes up and goes looking for Shuichi, all our efforts will be wasted.” (End of Chapter)
