Chapter 29 The first day of school
In the few days before school started, Hogwarts gradually regained its former vitality.

Some of the children have returned to school early.

After getting the diary, Weiss spent most of his time, except for resting, immersed in the in-depth study of magic, trying to explore the deeper mysteries within it.

Of course, there are also attempts to establish contact with Senior Tom in the diary.

But Senior Tom behaved extremely reservedly and never gave Wes the slightest response from beginning to end.

The night before school started, Weiss wrote the following in his diary:
"There's a question that's always been bothering me deeply: why do wizards have the same lifespan as Muggles? Wizards possess magical powers and are higher-level beings, but why is this the case?"

"Nicolas Flamel lived for over 600 years thanks to the Philosopher's Stone. The Philosopher's Stone is truly amazing!"

"Damn Dumbledore actually rejected my offer and insisted on destroying the Philosopher's Stone! This is simply a crime!"

"Dumbledore has become senile and confused. He is no longer the most admired and greatest wizard..."

In the lines of text that Weiss carefully wrote, every word reveals his dissatisfaction with Muggles and his strong yearning for immortality.

Sure enough, just as Wes expected, the words slowly disappeared, as if absorbed by a mysterious force, and gradually merged into the diary.

【Senior Tom finally couldn't hold it in any longer.】

After a while, "I can help you!" a line of clear words appeared in the diary.

Weiss's mouth curled up slightly, revealing a smug smile, and he thought to himself, "Finally, he took the bait!"

However, he did not reply immediately. Instead, he slammed the diary shut and pretended to be frightened.

Then he locked the diary back in the drawer.

The next day, Weiss carefully arranged his robe and went to school to attend the opening ceremony. When Weiss arrived at the auditorium, all the professors were already there.

As soon as Dumbledore saw Weiss, he sensed the unusual magic in Weiss.

[This kind of magical reaction, he has already entered this realm.]

Although Weiss did not deliberately hide his strength, the professors, including Dean Flitwick, did not realize that Weiss had reached a higher level.

Only Dumbledore was keenly aware of Weiss's change. Dumbledore raised his glass and said, "Congratulations, Wizard Erwin."

"Thank you." Weiss calmly picked up the wine glass and clinked it lightly with Dumbledore.

The two men drank the wine in their glasses.

The professors looked at each other, completely unaware of what the two were celebrating.

The opening ceremony was held on time, but this year no one paid attention to the ceremony. Even the freshmen's embarrassing moments, which everyone loves to see every year, were ignored.

Because everyone's attention was attracted by the headlines of the Daily Prophet.

Ford Anglia Flies, Muggles Amazed

Weiss picked up the newspaper on the seat, shook his head slightly and said, "As expected of the little lion of Gryffindor, he's really brave."

After reading the report, Professor McGonagall was shaking with anger.

"Maybe they thought taking the train was too boring, so they changed to another means of transportation. I've never taken a car before, and I heard that this Muggle mode of transportation..."

Under Professor McGonagall's murderous gaze, Dumbledore wisely shut his mouth and dared not say another word.

"Dumbledore, this is not the time to joke." Professor McGonagall said anxiously. She was very worried about the safety of the two students.

"Do you know how serious the consequences are? You've already violated a ton of school rules before even entering school, and even the confidentiality law!"

"Calm down, Minerva..."

Dumbledore tried to comfort Professor McGonagall, but before he could finish his words, he heard Snape say grimly:

"They should be imprisoned in Azkaban. Hogwarts cannot accept such lawless students."

Professor McGonagall glared at Snape, but Snape seemed unaware and remained expressionless.

At this moment, there was a sudden sound of an engine outside the castle, and everyone turned their eyes to the window.

I saw a blue car flying crookedly in the air, swaying past the castle.

"That's Dad's car, and Ron and Harry are in it." Fred and George shouted excitedly.

The students were immediately excited, as no one had ever accomplished such a feat. "They're really creative! It's true that when you get older you can't keep up with the times."

Dumbledore adjusted his glasses, which were about to slide down his nose.

"No!!" Professor McGonagall exclaimed, "They're heading towards the Whomping Willow."

The one who moved faster than her was Professor Snape.

"Foolish, reckless Potter..."

He had quickly left his seat and was striding outside.

Professor McGonagall followed closely behind.

"Well, leave it to Severus and Minerva. I'm sure they will take good care of the two children."

Dumbledore gestured for everyone to continue eating.

"Kids these days are so brave. I wasn't that crazy when I was young."

Professor Flitwick took a sip of his wine to calm his nerves.

"I think that car is quite interesting."

Wes became very interested in the modified flying magic car.

【Maybe you can ask Mr. Weasley for advice on how to modify a car of your own.】

Gilderoy Lockhart was envious and a little jealous: "Why didn't I think of this trick? This is explosive news that can make the headlines."

After hearing this, the professor next to him looked at him with disgust, then silently moved his stool a little further away.

Gilderoy Lockhart seemed completely oblivious to the dislike directed towards him by others and began to brag incessantly about his adventures.

The professors had to endure his verbal bombardment with painful expressions on their faces, as if they had been cast under an Unforgivable Curse by a dark wizard.

"Professor Erwin is also an adventurer. Perhaps you two have something in common."

Dumbledore couldn't stand Lockhart's chattering, so he pushed this arrogant guy to Weiss.

"Professor Erwin, I think we've met already. Do you remember my book signing?"

Gilderoy Lockhart excitedly leaned his seat closer to Weiss: "Maybe we can form an adventuring group, and I will write our adventures into my next book..."

"I'm sorry, I prefer to be alone..."

While savoring the steak on his plate, Weiss answered Gilderoy Lockhart perfunctorily.

But Weiss underestimated Gilderoy Lockhart's shamelessness, and he was still working hard to recruit Weiss into the gang.

"Professor Erwin is so handsome and has the potential to become a big star."

“I have good relationships with many newspapers.”

"..."

"..."

Gilderoy Lockhart kept chattering, which annoyed Weiss.

With a spell, Gilderoy Lockhart shut his mouth.

"Woooooo~"

Gilderoy Lockhart was at a loss. He frantically signaled Wes to break the spell, but Wes did not agree.

He began to ask other professors for help, but no one was willing to help.

Everyone thought it would be a good idea to shut him up.

Dumbledore even gave Weiss a secret thumbs-up.

Gilderoy Lockhart raised his wand to cast a spell on himself, but because his skills were too poor, he used the wrong spell and knocked himself unconscious on the spot.
