Age: My Small World

Chapter 857 Wedding Invitation

a few days later.

Yang Jun led a small yellow dog to Quan Jinhua's dormitory, a place he had visited before.

Although it's called a dormitory, it's actually a double room, complete with a living room and dining area.

"Xiaoshan, you actually brought me a dog."

Quan Jinhua greeted Yang Jun warmly. The two were old acquaintances, and now that they were working in the same system, it was even more convenient for them to get along.

He was dressed in a simple Zhongshan suit, with a fountain pen clipped to his breast pocket, just like the office clerk Yang Jun was familiar with.

However, Quan Jinhua is now a level above him. After all, he has been working in an office clerical position for four or five years. With his college background and excellent work ability, this promotion speed is not exaggerated.

"Brother Quan, this is my own dog. It's quite obedient. You can feed it some leftovers."

Yang Jun told him about the precautions.

These days, far fewer families have leftovers, but Quan Jinhua works and lives alone, so he's not worried about not having leftovers.

Of course, normally he would save the leftovers for the next meal, but now the dog is going to get them.

Quan Jinhua squatted down and petted the dog, realizing that it didn't seem to be a typical Chinese rural dog.

"Does your dog have some other bloodlines? It looks a bit like a wolfhound."

"Hehe, the mother dog that gave birth to it was a wolfhound, but it was a puppy born from a mongrel, so it doesn't look much like a wolfhound anymore."

Quan Jinhua said with some pride, "Then I guessed right."

Yang Jun shrugged helplessly: "Anyway, I'm your dog from now on."

Quan Jinhua chuckled as he took the dog, then looked somewhat embarrassed: "I forgot to buy a doghouse. Looks like I'll have to go out again later."

"What's the big deal? Are there any bamboo or anything around here? Give me some bamboo and I'll weave one for you."

"You have this skill?" Quan Jinhua looked at him speechlessly.

After all, Yang Jun is a graduate of a prestigious university in Beijing, which is quite different from the skill of weaving bamboo.

Yang Jun rolled his eyes: "You know we often went to the countryside to participate in the busy farming season when we were in school. What couldn't we learn back then? Don't even mention weaving a doghouse, I can build you a bamboo house, the kind with all the furniture."

"Okay, I forgot." Quan Jinhua patted his head.

"I haven't been to school for four or five years, and I've almost forgotten what it was like back then. It's true that you have to go to the countryside often."

He graduated from Shandong University, and things are pretty much the same now as they were four or five years ago; he still needs to go to the countryside regularly.

The two of them got quite engrossed in the conversation.

After a while, Quan Jinhua remembered and said, "Look, you've been bragging all this time. Come over here and let me give you a taste of my new tea."

He has no other hobbies except for brewing tea, especially new tea.

"What kind of tea can catch your eye now?"

To be honest, Quan Jinhua spends most of his salary on new tea, which leaves him with very little savings.

There's a huge pile of tea leaves at home.

After boiling water and drinking the new tea, Yang Jun tasted it and found it slightly bitter, but then a sweet taste followed.

He pursed his lips: "Good tea, bitter at first, then sweet, this stuff is something else." Quan Jinhua was smug again, raising an eyebrow and saying: "It is indeed good, isn't it? I specially got this from the Pu'er tea factory, it is a new Pu'er tea."

Yang Jun's lips twitched: "The expensive teas people sell are all aged teas, but you keep selling new teas. Maybe the people in the factory will think you're crazy."

Quan Jinhua didn't take it to heart, and instead smiled: "What's so good about aged tea? They don't know how to appreciate it."

Yang Jun didn't understand the difference between old and new tea. He just looked at the lone guy and said, "You should save some money and get married. Look how lifeless this house is. It would be better to find a sister-in-law to help you manage things."

"Ha, women are too much trouble."

Quan Jinhua waved his hand.

"Speaking of which, my director has introduced me to someone and asked me to meet her this weekend. You can give me some advice."

"What other suggestions do you have? Just go and meet them. If you like them, you can date them. If you don't, just say no."

Yang Jun then realized, "Oh, this person isn't a relative of your director, is he? Is that why you can't just refuse him directly?"

"Ahem, she's our director's wife's cousin. She just came to Beijing from out of town. She's not young anymore, so she's eager to find a husband."

"No wonder."

Yang Jun smiled and said, "Just like I said, you'll know once you go and see for yourself. Just follow your heart."

Quan Jinhua knew he couldn't escape this blind date, but he needed encouragement from his friends. Now, with Yang Jun's support, he seemed to have gained a bit more courage.

"Alright, let's go see her then. She's not a tigress, I'm not afraid she'll eat me alive."

After getting another meal at his place, Yang Jun finally left.

Before leaving, Quan Jinhua specifically instructed him: "Have your family members memorize the contents of this little notebook recently, it's very useful. Also, remember to bring your badge when you go out..."

What he said was almost exactly the same as what Yang Jun had done before, which shows that Quan Jinhua also received quite accurate information in his office.

Sure enough, after a while, there were many more energetic people wearing armbands on the streets.

However, they were relatively restrained and did not act recklessly. They mostly conducted normal inquiries and then let the matter drop.

Many people haven't taken it seriously yet, but Yang Jun knows that such situations will become more and more common in the future, and inquiries will become more and more frequent.

Fortunately, after his instructions, his family naturally regarded it as a top priority, and they were no longer afraid of encountering these people when they went out every day.

After some time, Yang Jun received an invitation that made people laugh.

"Invitation? This guy is getting married so quickly."

The invitation was sent by Quan Jinhua through a third party. It specified the date of his wedding and that he planned to hold a small banquet in the capital, inviting only a few relatives and friends, without any grand celebration.

The address was set at a state-run hotel near him, which seemed to be an attempt to save on hospitality.

If you really asked him to prepare pots, pans, and other food, Quan Jinhua probably wouldn't be sending out invitations right now, but rather coming to ask for help. His cooking skills are only passable.

"He said he wasn't going to get married, but less than a month later, he's already holding a wedding banquet. I don't know if he was forced into it or if it was voluntary."

This piqued Yang Jun's curiosity, since Quan Jinhua had never been particularly fond of women before.

Okay, it's not that he doesn't like women anymore, he just finds them troublesome. What made him change his mind? (End of Chapter)
