Chapter 646 Catering to American Audiences
Chapter 646 Catering to American Audiences
Early in the morning, in a duplex apartment by the Hudson River in Manhattan's High Line Park, Jessica Alba was lying on top of Aaron!
"You'll probably be going to other places for promotional events next, right?"
Aaron embraced the sexy woman on his body, feeling her fiery passion.
Jessica Alba kissed the man. "Yeah, we need to do some promotion on some college campuses. After all, Scary Movie is such a good concept!"
Aaron smiled, when suddenly the phone beside him rang. "Let me answer this call and see what's up this time?"
He picked up the phone casually and answered, "This is Aaron Anderson, what's up?"
"Uh, boss, director Jonathan Demme and actress Jodie Foster don't seem to be happy with Thomas Harris's novel 'Hannibal,' which was published last year."
"The script has been revised many times, but it still hasn't received the approval of Jonathan Demme and Jodie Foster!"
The caller was Etherine Beckett.
Since the release of "The Silence of the Lambs" and "The Silence of the Lambs: Red Dragon," Dawn has been paying close attention to Thomas Harris's new novel.
Last year, after finishing his novel Hannibal, author Thomas Harris sent a copy of it to several key members of the "Silence of the Lambs" team: director Jonathan Demme, screenwriter Ted Tarry, and lead actors Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster.
Apart from Jodie Foster, the other key creators also worked on The Silence of the Lambs and The Silence of the Lambs: Red Dragon.
Aaron frowned. "So that means neither director Jonathan Demme nor lead actress Jodie Foster are interested in the Hannibal project?"
"Phew," Aaron said, letting out a breath as Jessica Alba slid directly into the blankets in his arms.
"Yes, that's about it!"
While enjoying Jessica Alba's services, Aaron is also thinking that Jodie Foster is unwilling to continue playing Clarice Starling, and director Jonathan Demme is equally unwilling to adapt a novel that does not conform to his ideas.
"Thomas Harris's novels have a strong sense of suspense and religious themes; let David Fincher take over!"
Aaron had always been a big fan of David Fincher. Although last year's "Fight Club" did not meet expectations, the film received good reviews and was quite popular in the DVD and video markets.
"Also, it seems Universal is still preparing a racing action movie called 'Fast & Furious,' and I'm planning to have Jessica Alba, the female lead of 'Scary Movie,' join the cast!"
The director of "Fast & Furious" is Rob Cohen, a Hollywood action film director who directed the biographical film "Bruce Lee" for Universal a few years ago;
Currently, Paul Walker has been cast as the male lead in "Fast & Furious." He has worked with Rob Cohen before, and he is also a car enthusiast in real life. As soon as he heard that the story was about street racing, he readily agreed to participate.
After all, "Fast & Furious" wasn't exactly a blockbuster, with an investment of less than $4000 million. Initially, it didn't catch Aaron's attention until the complete script was presented to him, at which point he realized it was "Fast & Furious"!
"Understood, boss..."
After Aaron hung up the phone, he let out a long sigh of relief. A moment later, Jessica Alba crawled out of bed, panting heavily.
Aaron stroked the woman in his arms and casually said, "Universal is developing a racing action film, and you'll be playing the female lead."
"The film was directed by Rob Cohen, and the male lead was Paul Walker. It's called 'Fast & Furious'."
“Okay, thank you!” Although she started out as a child star, she had only played minor roles in movies and TV shows before. “Scary Movie” was a pretty good opportunity for her.
Last year, she also starred in a thriller called "The Forbidden Room," playing a fashion model who is trapped in a rural dinner party and suffers from drugging and abuse.
She was offered roles in independent art films like "The Dictionary Lover," which she didn't like. But now that she's met Aaron Anderson, she's quickly landed commercial film opportunities!
Aaron smiled and reached out to stroke the woman's hair. "Hmm, you deserve it. How did it feel last night?"
Jessica Alba glanced at Aaron, her eyes filled with satisfaction. "Fantastic, absolutely delicious!"
"Haha, okay, let's go take a shower together..."
Meanwhile, the action film "Romeo Must Die," produced by Warner Bros. and starring Chinese-American Jet Lee, was released in North America.
With an opening weekend gross of $1860 million, the film attracted considerable attention, but its reception was mixed.
The New York Daily News: "A captivating action film where familiar gang warfare is innovatively and cleverly choreographed into mesmerizing fight scenes."
The Dallas Examiner: "It may not have had a great script, but it brought Jett Lee's performance to the big screen in a way that all action movie fans would appreciate."
The Los Angeles Times: "Romeo Must Die looks great, has a very avant-garde feel, and some wide-ranging humor."
The Houston Chronicle: "There's nothing worth watching when there's no fighting or car chases."
Premiere: "This hip-hop version of Romeo and Juliet is terrible."
The Hollywood Reporter: "While Romeo set a new standard for action films, the action movie was drowned out by a predictable, absurd plot."
The Chicago Tribune: "Romeo Must Die is plagued by a long stretch of substandard propaganda urban violence melodrama."
As Jett Lee's first leading role in Hollywood, the highlight of "Romeo Must Die" is of course his kung fu. His agile and clean action scenes are very popular with North American audiences.
However, the film's flawed plot is undoubtedly a major loss; the chaotic storyline and absurd plot are its major flaws.
However, Romeo Must Die only had a budget of $2500 million, so achieving this level of success was already quite an accomplishment.
Compared to Chow Yun-fat, another Chinese actor who has already filmed three movies in Hollywood, Jett Lee's performance is far superior.
Los Angeles, Bel Air Estate. Aaron sat on the sofa and shook his head. "What a pity, Jett Lee shouldn't have turned down Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon!"
Although "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," invested in by New Moon Pictures, is a Chinese-language film, it is directed by Ang Lee, who is the Chinese-American director who understands American culture the most.
He understands better how to cater to North American audiences than John Woo, after all, he is an art-house film director, not a commercial film director.
