Chapter 563 Pixar and DreamWorks

Chapter 563 Pixar and DreamWorks

Erin Brokovich, with little formal education, a former beauty queen, divorced with a child, and no background in law or environmental studies, begged for a job as an archivist at a law firm after losing her job.
But because of her, she inadvertently saw several case files involving real estate and medical insurance, and discovered many suspicious points in the medical bills. After investigation, she found that the wastewater discharged by Pacific Electric and Gas Company contained strong carcinogens...

The script Nicole Kidman sent was "Erin Brockovich," adapted from Erin Brockovich's personal story.
The director is Steven Soderbergh, who has been out of the spotlight for several years!
In their seaside villa in Palisades, Santa Monica, Aaron and Nicole Kidman lie in bed.

"The script for 'Erin Brockovich' is quite good. I didn't expect Steven Soderbergh to have a new film after keeping a low profile for several years?"

Aaron placed one hand on Nicole Kidman's full breasts, feeling their softness.

Lying flat on her back, Nicole Kidman reached out and stroked Aaron's hand. "This kind of work is also suitable for awards. PolyGram's 'Elizabeth' made Cate Blanchett famous!"

Aaron smiled. No wonder. Cate Blanchett had only been in Hollywood for a short time, yet she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Elizabeth.

Even Nicole Kidman herself has never received this award.

It's worth noting that Nicole Kidman is currently the highest-paid foreign actress in Hollywood, and one of the highest-paid actresses in the entire Hollywood industry!

"Don't worry, the cost of 'Erin Brockovich' isn't that high. A budget of $5000 million shouldn't be a problem for Dawn."

"Is this your only project this year?"

"Yeah, just one. We'll see if we come across a suitable script later. I've received too many romance film scripts right now!"

Nicole Kidman has starred in many romance films and is getting a little tired of them. She really wanted to star in "Chicago," but it wasn't a good fit.

There's no way to get Nicole Kidman, who's 180cm tall, to dance jazz; her knees just can't handle it!

Aaron flipped over and landed on top of Nicole Kidman. "Alright, then you can focus on preparing for 'Erin Brockovich.' I'm sure it will be a pleasant surprise."

Nicole Kidman hugged the man tightly, her voice urgent, "I'll be living with Erin Brokerwich for a while to get to know her personality and daily life."

"When the actual filming begins, I'll be able to better showcase the female lead's temperament and image!"

Soon, sounds of pleasure from a man and woman filled the bedroom...

Meanwhile, in Washington, D.C.

The Clinton impeachment trial, after weeks of debate between House prosecutors and Clinton's lawyers, concluded with the support of newly appointed Supreme Court Justice William Rehnquist.
The Senate did not obtain the two-thirds majority required by the Constitution for both articles of impeachment against Clinton for perjury and obstruction of justice, and therefore declared Bill Clinton not guilty.
The impeachment proceedings failed, and therefore Clinton was not removed from the presidency.

At the Samuel G. Gowin Theater in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, the Oscar nominees luncheon began, announcing the nominees for the 71st Academy Awards.
"Chicago" leads the pack with 12 Oscar nominations, followed closely by "Saving Private Ryan" with 11 nominations.
The British film *Elizabeth* and the Italian film *Life Is Beautiful* each received seven nominations. A party is being held at the Charlie Hotel in West Hollywood that night.

In the restroom, Aaron embraced a disheveled Cate Blanchett from behind, saying, "Darling, you've really done something amazing this time. 'Elizabeth' has been nominated for both Best Picture and Best Actress at the Oscars!"

Cate Blanchett, her face flushed, turned and kissed Aaron, whispering, "I never expected to be nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars."

Aaron squeezed the woman's chest. "Ha, she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama, how could she not even have an Oscar nomination?"

Cate Blanchett smiled, then turned around and squatted down!
“Phew,” Aaron leaned against the wall and reached out to stroke Cate Blanchett’s long blond hair.

A short while later, Aaron looked at Cate Blanchett, who was fixing her makeup, and said, "I'm going back to the banquet hall now. We'll go back together later."

“Okay, go ahead, I’ll be there in a bit,” Cate Blanchett waved.
After Aaron returned to the banquet hall, he soon ran into Jeffrey Katzenberg, who was currently in the second phase of his pay dispute with Disney.
After several years of wrangling, Disney has now admitted to owing money, but the two sides have not reached an agreement on the amount.

"Jeffrey, DreamWorks' 'Saving Private Ryan' is doing very well! It will definitely be one of DreamWorks' signature works in the future!"

Aaron raised a glass of champagne and clinked it with Jeffrey Katzenberg's; DreamWorks itself was responsible for the North American distribution of "Saving Private Ryan."

In Asia, excluding Japan, it's South Korea's CJ Entertainment; internationally, it's Paramount.

Jeffrey Katzenberg smiled. "We've always had faith in Steven's abilities, and he won't let us down!"

“That’s true,” Aaron agreed, though Dawn wasn’t very interested in DreamWorks’ live-action movies; Aaron was only interested in DreamWorks Animation, which was managed by Jeffrey Katzenberg.

DreamWorks Animation's first feature film, "Antz," grossed $9000 million in North America and $8000 million overseas, which was definitely a failure compared to its production cost of $1.05 million.
However, The Prince of Egypt has already grossed over $95 million at the North American box office and should break $100 million. It has also grossed over $50 million in overseas markets. Its upward momentum is significantly better than Ants. Moreover, The Prince of Egypt only cost $70 million to make!
"Next year, DreamWorks Animation will only have one film, 'The Rock,' released, right?"

Aaron looked at Jeffrey Katzenberg.

"We also have 'Chicken Run,' which we plan to release at the end of next year, with overseas releases expected the year after."

"You know, Aaron, we're a bit short-staffed at DreamWorks Animation right now. Being able to release two animated feature films is already quite an achievement."

Jeffrey Katzenberg shrugged. Two animated films a year is definitely a lot. DreamWorks Animation's quality can't keep up with Pixar's these days!

Aaron's vision for DreamWorks Animation is to complement Pixar. Previously, "Antz" was too bizarre in its subject matter, while "The Prince of Egypt" was too serious and mature.
