Hollywood starts with an agent

Chapter 377 Ultimate Goal

Chapter 377 Ultimate Goal
It was evening at a club in West Hollywood.

Aaron and Leon Cooperman from Omega Advisors sat together on the sofa discussing investment business!

Aaron, an advisor who invested in Omega early on, is very satisfied with the returns Omega has generated over the years.

"Does Omega still have a significant portion of its business focused on Russia?"

Aaron took a sip of his drink and asked.

Leon Cooperman nodded. "Russia is a huge market. After shock therapy, Russia entered an era of oligopolistic economies."

"This is a golden opportunity for us!"

Omega is one of the four major hedge funds on Wall Street, alongside Quantum Fund, Tiger Fund, and Long-Term Capital Management.
However, Omega doesn't have the same star power as the other three brands. The biggest selling point is that Leon Cooperman himself worked at Goldman Sachs for 25 years.

Aaron smiled. "Southeast Asia has developed rapidly in recent years. Countries like Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia are aggressively developing their financial markets."

"There must have been a lot of problems already, right?"

Leon Cooperman smiled and took a sip of his drink. "When the time is right, it will be our chance!"

The United States has reaped global benefits through military force and finance. American capital has dominated the international financial market and is basically invincible.
Wall Street investment banks act as the command center, commercial banks provide leveraged funds, accounting firms provide information, rating agencies provide and create opportunities, and finally hedge funds carry out the attack—they are invincible!

"By the way, is there something you need in Los Angeles this time?"

Leon Cooperman spends most of his time in New York and rarely comes to Los Angeles.

Leon Cooperman was about to speak when he suddenly saw the person who had arrived. "Aaron, let me introduce you to two people who are also my clients!"

Soon, two middle-aged or elderly people in their forties or fifties walked towards them.

"This is Philip Anschutz, an oil businessman from Colorado;"

"This is Edward Roski Jr., a real estate businessman from Southern California!"

After Leon Cooperman finished speaking, he looked at the two men and laughed, "As for this one, the famous Hollywood golden boy Aaron Anderson, there's no need for an introduction."

After shaking hands with the two men, Aaron looked at them, but didn't recall what Edward Roski had said.
However, Aaron knew Philip Anschutz, the future builder of Staples Center and the second-largest shareholder of the Los Angeles Lakers, as well as the owner of Los Angeles Bank.

“Good evening, Aaron, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” Philip Anschutz said with a smile.

Aaron nodded. "The Anschutz family, as representatives of Colorado's oil families, is just like the Getty family of California!"

In 1978, the largest oil field in the United States since 1969 was discovered beneath the 360 million-hectare Anschutz Ranch in Colorado.

This discovery shocked the United States. In 1982, Philip Anschutz sold half of the oil field's interest to Mobil Oil (formerly Standard Oil of New York) for $5 million, instantly becoming Colorado's only billionaire!
To date, the Anschutz family has consistently been the richest family in Colorado.

At this point, Leon Cooperman reminded them: "Aaron, Philip, and Edward Jr. have just jointly acquired a 50% stake in the NHL's Los Angeles Kings."

"You've entered the sports world, and you own the Houston Rockets in the NBA. Perhaps you'll have some things in common!"

Aaron looked at the two men again. One was from an oil family, and the other was from a real estate family. They were both venturing into the sports world.

"Gentlemen, I don't know much about hockey. It seems you're planning to build a new arena in Los Angeles?"

The Los Angeles Kings' home arena is the Great Western Forum in Inglewood, which is also the home of the Los Angeles Lakers;
Aaron knew exactly what the Great Western Forum was like; Jerry Buss also wanted a new arena. Edward Roski Jr. finally spoke up, "Yes, Aaron, Philip and I do want to build a new, multi-functional, high-tech indoor arena in Los Angeles."

"Just like the Dawn Arena in Houston, it will serve as the home arena for the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers and the NHL's Los Angeles Kings."

"You know, because of the stadiums, Los Angeles no longer has football. The Raiders moved from Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to Oakland, and the Rams moved from Angels Stadium in Anaheim to St. Louis;"

"Right now, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Anaheim Angels in the baseball league are barely hanging on, and we want to change that."

After listening to Edward Roski's explanation, Aaron asked with some confusion, "You guys want to team up with me to build a new stadium in Los Angeles?"

Edward Roski smiled and said, "I also hope you can help persuade Jerry Buss, after all, the Lakers are the representative team of Los Angeles!"

Leon Cooperman interjected, "Aaron, your status in Los Angeles and throughout California is extraordinary."

"Perhaps you know Jerry Buss better."

Aaron shrugged. "If you guys were willing to build a new arena in Los Angeles, Jerry Buss would definitely move the Los Angeles Lakers there."

"However, building a large stadium in Los Angeles is no easy task, especially given the scarcity of land in downtown Los Angeles."

"I can help with that; I know many of the city council members!"

Philip Anschutz nodded. "With your help, Aaron, things will definitely be much easier for us."

As he spoke, Philip Anschutz glanced at Aaron and then asked, "I'm actually quite interested in both sports and entertainment; the Los Angeles Kings are just the beginning."

"During last year's World Cup in the United States, the president of the U.S. Soccer Federation promised to create a professional soccer league in the United States, and then joined forces with us to create MLS (Major Soccer League)."

"This year, I also invested in an MLS team, the Colorado Rapids, so Aaron, are you interested in getting involved?"

Aaron paused for a moment, "MLS?"

Now, isn't this just a regular annual loss?
America's football wasteland, is that for nothing?

Aaron shook his head. "Mr. Anschutz, football's influence in the United States is far too small."

"MLS has a long way to go before it can develop, and I don't have much time right now!"

In the United States, what Aaron most wants to acquire is definitely a football club; the NFL is Aaron's ultimate goal.
Having already acquired an NBA club, Aaron plans to acquire an MLB team and an NFL club in the future.

If the MLB Los Angeles Dodgers are sold, Aaron will definitely make a move!

Philip Anschutz raised his glass and clinked it against Aaron's. "I see. It seems we should focus on preparing for the new arena in Los Angeles first."

"Next, we would like to ask Aaron to help introduce Jerry Bass to us."

“Sure,” Aaron agreed. It was just a small favor. He figured Philip Anschutz was going to buy some of the Lakers’ shares from Jerry Buss.

The Anschutz family is quite powerful in Colorado, owning large tracts of land, and the ranches there are quite good, which Aaron is interested in;

Edward Roski Jr. is also a major real estate businessman in Southern California, owning a considerable amount of land there. There may be opportunities for cooperation in the future.
