Chapter 326 Are You Teaching Me Business Management?

Evening, at the Grammy Park Hotel in Manhattan.

Aaron brought Christiana Yerry to the party!

“Darling, I’ll be gone for a bit,” Aaron said, embracing and kissing Christina Yerry. She had long, flowing hair, deep eyes, and breathtaking beauty.

"Okay, go ahead, I'll wait for you!"

The party was specially organized by Michael Ovitz, who not only invited Aaron Anderson, but also Edgar Bronfman Jr. from the Seagram Group.

In a small conference room at the hotel, Edgar Bronfman Jr., Aaron Anderson, and Michael Ovitz sat on a sofa.

"Aaron, have a taste. This is a 1921 Martell, it tastes very good!"

Edgar Bronfman Jr. personally poured Aaron a glass of wine.

Aaron chuckled. "Siglen has quite a few liquor brands now."

He then took a sip and looked at the other person, "Is Seagram ready to cross over from the liquor industry to the Hollywood film industry?"

Edgar Bronfman Jr. shrugged. "I'm very confident. It all depends on whether you, Aaron, will give me the chance."

Michael Ovitz, standing nearby, chuckled, "Panasonic is now fearless because they have Aurora and Seagram bidding against them."

"If Panasonic follows Paramount's example from last year, it will be a bad outcome for both Dawn and Seagram."

Edgar Bronfman Jr. took a puff of his cigar and looked at Aaron. "I've already spoken with DuPont. They'll spend $88 billion to buy back the stock owned by Seagram."

"Aaron, this is Seagram's trump card. Combined with our own funds, we have over $100 billion in available cash!"

As he spoke, Edgar Bronfman Jr. pointed to the cigars beside him, “Aaron, have a try. These are top-quality cigars from Cuba, perfect for young people.”

Aaron shook his head and lit a cigarette for himself. "I'm not really used to cigars!"

However, Edgar Bronfman Jr.'s words did surprise Aaron; a cash flow of $100 billion was indeed terrifying.

Then, Aaron smiled and asked, "Is Seagram really going to acquire MCA at all costs?"

Michael Ovitz stood up and poured Aaron another glass of wine. "Aaron," he said, "we all know that this bidding war only benefits Panasonic."

"There's no need for that. With you by our side, Dawn will remain a top Hollywood film company no matter what."

"If Dawn abandons MCA, it can acquire MGM/United Artists. MGM has a rich history; it's the founder of the Oscars and a member of the MPAA."

"The Lion brand, Lianyi's copyright library, and the countless undeveloped projects in MGM's film library will all be assets for Dawn."

"After acquiring Samuel G. Gowin's and Orion's film library, and adding United Artists' film library, Dawn's strength is in no way inferior to the six major film studios!"

Aaron narrowed his eyes. So that's what he was thinking when he asked to meet him?
Should we let Dawn acquire MGM?
After glancing at Michael Ovitz, Aaron turned his gaze to Edgar Bronfman Jr., "I think it would be better for Seagram to acquire MGM; at least it would be much cheaper."

“MCA Universal is too large, and the scale of its losses is incomparable to MGM's. Seagram has just entered Hollywood; he can use MGM as a transitional step.”

"Furthermore, as you both know, Universal has suffered significant losses in recent years, and Sony just wrote off $34 billion in liabilities of Columbia Samsung Group last year."

"Following this pattern, Sony's ownership of Columbia Samsung won't be long!"

“Hmm,” Edgar Bronfman Jr. frowned, suggesting that Seagram acquire MGM first, and then wait for an opportunity to acquire Columbia Samsung.
Michael Ovitz spoke again, his tone somewhat helpless, "Aaron, Dawn's current development doesn't really need to change. Film, television, cable television networks, chain cinemas, news publishing, etc.; "The momentum of horizontal expansion is good. MCA might be a burden for Dawn!"

Aaron stared at Michael Ovitz; this guy really cared about Edgar Bronfman Jr.!

"Mr. Ovitz, are you teaching me how to run a film company?"

Aaron Anderson's words not only embarrassed Michael Ovitz, but also surprised Edgar Bronfman Jr. who was standing next to him.

In general, Edgar Bronfman Jr. is essentially an outsider to Hollywood, and while Michael Ovitz is a prominent figure in Hollywood, he is merely an agent.

And who is Aaron Anderson? He's a Hollywood genius, and the title of Hollywood's Golden Boy is well-deserved!

In the history of Hollywood, no one dares to say that he doesn't understand movies, and no one dares to say that he is better than him.

"Aaron, what I mean is..."

Michael Ovitz was interrupted by Aaron before he could finish speaking, "It's impossible for Dawn to simply give up on acquiring MCA."

"Siglen has ample capital, and let's not forget Dawn's resources; I'm not short of money."

"As long as the price of MCA is within my acceptable range, Dawn will definitely acquire it!"

Edgar Bronfman Jr. smiled, looking directly at Aaron. "Looks like we're going to have a serious competition this time."

"I hope you can accomplish what Barry Diller didn't."

Barry Diller, a successful Hollywood studio manager, lost out in the bidding war with Sumner Redstone to acquire Paramount.

Aaron Anderson is the next Barry Diller in Hollywood!
Aaron stood up. "Barry Diller? He's just the CEO of QVC, owning only 2% of the shares."

"All the support comes from Wall Street investors. How can a TV shopping website compare to Viacom?"

Comparing yourself to Barry Diller? Don't even mention that this guy is nowhere near your level, but you can't compare yourself to Sumner Redstone either!
The negotiations between Aaron, Edgar Bronfman Jr., and Michael Ovitz, of course, yielded no results.

Back in the banquet hall, Christina Yerry immediately approached Aaron. "What's wrong? You don't look well."

Aaron shrugged. "It's nothing, I guess he's just a little tired!"

Christina Yerry suggested, "Shall we go back and rest early?"

"Let's go," Aaron said, clearly not interested in staying any longer.

On the other hand, Edgar Bronfman Jr. and Michael Ovitz discussed the acquisition of MCA after Aaron Anderson left.

"Given the current situation, the only way to acquire MCA is to outbid Dawn with a better price!"

Michael Ovitz sighed, after all, Scraglan had no advantage over Dawn.

Edgar Bronfman Jr. shook his head. "If the acquisition price is too high, it will be difficult for me to convince the other members."

"Let's offer $66 billion!"
