Chapter 594 Fighting is fun!

The people around them all took a step back, looking at Gwen with different expressions as she held the longsword.

Jeremiah spat the tobacco into the sea beside him with a puff and grinned.

Gwen felt the hum of the weapon in her hand, and her body seemed to lighten up a bit. The surging emotions in her heart made her hands tremble slightly.

She longed for battle.

Gwen looked up and around, and wherever her gaze fell, people instinctively stepped back.

Finally, she looked at Nini not far away. Nini was oblivious to these details; she was writing furiously in her notebook, clearly working on a report.

When she sensed something was wrong, she looked up and found that her companions had all retreated far away, while Gwen was walking towards her, holding a longsword.

Nini's tail tip twitched.

“Lady Nini, I still remember the day I led the resistance against the Dragon Fang Duke’s army. I was almost at my breaking point when you arrived with reinforcements. I still remember the figure of you charging into the enemy ranks in heavy armor.”

Nini's eyes widened in surprise, and she pointed her index finger at herself.

"I?"

Gwen raised the tip of her sword.

“I am grateful to you, Lady Nini, but I cannot deceive my heart. Can you hear it pounding? It yearns for battle. Every night since that day, I have fantasized about fighting you. I crave your tall stature and your immense power.”

"Wait, wait a minute, my dream isn't about fighting! I may be a bit tall, but... you should ask Ash about that!!"

Nini hurriedly put her notebook away: "My dream is to be a journalist! Can you compete with me in writing?"

A flash of silver light streaked across the sky, and Nini instinctively reached out to block it. Then, with a sweep of her tail, Gwen was blasted away like a cannonball.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm used to it. Are you alright?"

Gwen stood up from the ship's side, a trickle of blood running from the corner of her mouth, but she seemed to perk up. She casually wiped it away, leaving her face covered in blood, but she didn't seem to care at all.

"This is exactly what I wanted! To challenge the strong, haha, nothing could be more exhilarating!"

boom!
Her figure swept across the deck like a cannonball once again, but this time she wasn't blown away; instead, she charged forward!

"Ahhh, don't come any closer!!!"

On the airship, Hughes watched the live stream in the mind link, and his eye twitched.

Gwen really has found her own path.

Hughes glanced at Jeremiah in the picture with a complicated expression.

Logically, Hughes should have been the first to notice the anomaly. He had shaken hands with both Gwen and Gwent, and Gwent's feedback to him was "the one with the name," but Gwent's was not.

In other words, the only true "named person" is Gwen.

Hughes had assumed that the two were connected in some way and could share power, and even wondered if they were two sides of the same coin, or actually one person.

But he never imagined that Big Gwen really had never been in contact with the supernatural, and was instead misled by the information given by his own abilities.

Jeremiah, however, truly saw through the truth. He immediately noticed Gwen's confusion, even though this was their first meeting.

As expected of an old pirate from the Stormy Ocean, he does have some skill after all.

If Gwen hadn't truly become a superhuman before, how did she trigger all these strange phenomena?
Is it not the "named person" who is special, but Gwen herself?

Hughes watched the images in the mind link with his arms crossed, and an idea gradually took shape in his mind.

"My lord, what do we do next?"

"Let's retreat." Erwin paused for a moment, then breathed a sigh of relief: "Is it safe now?"

Hughes glanced at Gwen on the ship, who had been whipped into a spinning top by Nini's tail—thinking of defeating the Banshee in Castel was wishful thinking; they shared a life pool that was inexhaustible.

"It should be."

Hughes walked to the airship's porthole and glanced at the steel ark floating on the sea: "See if we can control this. If not, let Gwen try to drive it away. By the way, has Castells sunk so many ships? This steel is almost enough to cover the island."

Erwin's expression was complicated, and he did not reply.

He was transferred to Castells' navy after the Bloodharbor mutiny, which is why he was able to take command of the aid forces this time. He was the one who sank many of the ships in the shipwreck area.
It can only be said that Tata made a huge contribution to Castells' steel plant.

However, although Tata's haphazard designs may have been outrageous, they did design quite a few decent ships, such as the current cargo ships and the new ironclad warships under construction.

If Castells hadn't been so wealthy and powerful, they really wouldn't have been able to afford his expenses.

The orders were relayed down the chain of command with flag signals and whistles, and the ships and airships that had been stationed there gradually dispersed, leaving only the friars of Castells Island.

After waking Gwen from her unconscious state, she tried to control the massive steel ark. Subsequently, Nini and the other banshees, as well as the Guardians of Faith, also went over to try it out.

As a result, apart from Hughes and Gwen, no one was able to communicate with the ship that emerged from the deep sea.

"Can you sail this boat?" Hughes asked Gwen as he pulled his hand back from the gunwale.

"Hmm, it seems to work. It can obey my simple commands."

"Let it drive for a bit and see."

"it is good."

Gwen tidied her hair, revealing her face covered in bruises, which Hughes found amusing.

"You've never hit Nini?"

"Yes, Lady Nini is too strong. No matter what kind of injury she suffers, she can recover quickly."

Hughes glanced back at Nini, who was desperately trying to wink at him.

It seems Gwen doesn't know that Nini can share the life pool here; she simply thinks Nini is too strong.

"Yes, she is indeed very strong. I don't even think you have a chance to beat her."

"I will try my best!" Gwen nodded solemnly, her eyes full of eagerness.

Hughes suppressed a laugh. "You want to beat Nini in Castel?"

That's basically equivalent to defeating a hundred banshees, which is simply impossible.

"Then I wish you all the best."

The enormous steel ship began its voyage, its rusted hull cutting through the waves. It was so massive that from a distance, it was difficult to tell whether it was the steel ark or Castells that was moving.

"About five sections."

The banshee from the sea below shouted, and Hughes had left someone in the sea to estimate the speed of the steel ark.

"The speed of five sections is a bit too slow," Hughes frowned.

This speed might have been acceptable in the age of sail, but Castells had already entered the era of steam power. Faster ships, such as the Black Pearl, which Jeremiah had just completed the power system upgrade, could already reach speeds of thirty knots.

Compared to it, the Steel Ark is as slow as a snail's pace.
