Chapter 473 The Resistance Army Was Completely Annihilated

Chapter 473 The Resistance Army Was Completely Annihilated
The moment the flames shot out, Nini's body spun violently, and the six fire snakes followed suit, like thick whips, instantly flattening everything around her.

The sound lingered for a moment after the flash of fire before it came out from the cannon muzzle. The fierce burst of fire distorted the air, and the compressed airflow, mixed with the scorching heat of the jet, blasted outwards.

Trees were sent flying into the air by the shockwave, only to be overtaken by the crimson streaks of light and disappear into the jet. Soldiers, along with their armor, were melted into dust, their final desperate screams drowned out.

Lina appeared in front of Bazel in an instant, raising her right hand to block the light. But after only a moment of contact, her expression changed drastically. She turned around, grabbed Bazel, and the air twisted before being engulfed in flames again.

The flames gradually disappeared.

Nini shook the dragon breath cannons in her hand, then slowly hung them back on her armor.

The area beneath her snake tail was the only intact land; beyond that, the entire land changed.

The air was filled with rising heat, and the ground of the entire forest had sunk slightly, covered with slowly flowing orange lava, which was gradually covered with a black crust in the air.

The surrounding soldiers, along with their armor and mounts, muskets and tower shields, are now just ashes at the bottom of the ditch.

The camp wasn't large to begin with, and they all huddled together to surround Nini, putting them all within the range of the Dragon Breath Cannon, which Nini wiped out in one fell swoop.

Even if they didn't surround her, it wouldn't take Nini long to call out names with the Gatling gun. The thick tree trunks around them were no different from small wooden sticks in front of the heavy machine gun, offering no protection whatsoever.

Nini looked up at the sky, and the sunlight that had been blocked by the tree canopy was finally falling on the earth.

When Finelle and Una arrived, Nini was still standing there, looking up at them.

The two women nervously brandished the Dragon Breath Cannon and Gatling gun, gesturing around for a long time, but nothing happened. They then looked at Nini with some confusion.

Why did you fire? Did you spot the enemy or were you just playing around?

Nini's eyes widened immediately: "What do you mean 'just playing around'? Do you think I'm that kind of person?"

Finier and Una exchanged a glance and nodded solemnly: "Yes."

"There were people here just now! At least a hundred people, such a huge crowd!" Nini exclaimed excitedly, gesturing wildly.

"Really?"

"Really! If it's fake, it will leave me with no inspiration and I won't be able to write any more reports!" Nini said angrily.

Finelle and Una believed it a little, and the two of them walked around the area.

"Is this the resistance camp? You just encountered the enemy?"

Nini sighed, her tone becoming heavier: "Yes, when I arrived, only Count Bazel's men were here. The resistance might have been wiped out."

She briefly explained what had just happened.

"Wait, you mean there's a red-haired girl who seems to be a superhuman?" Finier interjected. "Is she still alive?"

Nini scratched her head, then realized she was still wearing her helmet. So she took off her armor and said hesitantly, "I'm not really sure. Anyway, the Dragon Breath Cannon has already fired, and it won't feel any different when a superhuman fires it, right?"

Finelle: "."

"Forget about that for now. Let's see if we can find any survivors, whether they're resistance fighters or Bazel's soldiers. We need to at least understand the current situation."

Upon hearing this, Finier and Una walked to the sides, while Nini remained motionless, continuing to look up at the sky.

Why are you standing there without moving?

Nini's tone turned sad: "I just had an idea, I wanted to try firing a cannon while rotating my body, but I twisted my back."

A twisted back is a minor injury; it only causes a tingling sensation and isn't considered serious damage. The symbiotic contract hasn't even been activated yet. "Slow down, slow down! My tail is numb! Numb! Ouch, be gentle! My scales are about to fall off, they're from the new tattoos!"

Finier and Una each grabbed Nini's head and tail, helping her loosen her stiff waist amidst her strange cries. Finally, Nini pressed her six hands against the base of her tail and struggled to move.

"What are we going to do? The resistance army's camp has been captured, and they're likely to be completely wiped out!"

"I had no choice. Bazel's men were already here. There was nothing I could do but fire a shot at him."

Do you think Nora might still be alive?

"Wait, Nora is dead."

"That's because only the head died, the body didn't die. No, the head didn't die either, so it shouldn't be considered dead. Should we consider them as living separately?"

"Whether she's alive or dead, she's probably in grave danger right now. Nini might have just blasted her body to smithereens."

"I didn't!" Nini angrily swung the tip of her tail, which pulled on her waist, causing her to grimace in pain.

"Do you think Nini committed murder? Should she pay for Nora's life?" Finier gloated, showing no sign of letting Nini off the hook.

"It shouldn't count. Her body was cremated, so Nora should pay her."

"You even make money off the dead? Don't you have a conscience?"

The banshees were optimistic by nature, or perhaps too optimistic, as they searched through the forest, rambling on and on.

There were indeed no resistance fighters left in the camp; their evacuation was very clean, but they found others.

"What is this? A man who has fainted?"

"Wait a minute, does this guy look familiar, Isaac?"

Isaac left Castel too early, and the banshees were not familiar with him, or even had seen him much. However, Hughes gave them portraits, which allowed them to recognize him.

Now the banshees were even more pessimistic.

"The Ash Alliance is finished too?"

"Is it...it shouldn't be that bad?"

"How could it not be? Their leader is here. I remember Isaac was a dual-path fighter, very capable. If he's gone, the North is probably doomed."

"By the way, Nini, what was that red-haired superhuman like? Was she strong? Did she defeat Isaac?"

Nini frowned and thought for a long time before shrugging: "I don't know. I felt pretty weak. I didn't use any of my abilities. I don't know if I'm alive or dead."

The three female demons fell silent.

A large part of the camp had been destroyed by the dragon breath cannon, and the rest had been searched by Bazel's men, but they found no useful clues.

"What do we do next? Go straight back to Castel? The resistance has most likely been wiped out, and we don't know how many members of the Ash Alliance are still around."

Nini hesitated for a moment before speaking:

“Alright, Finier, you take Isaac back to Castel first. Una, we'll search here for a few more days; after all, we're already here.”
