Chapter 109: Things in the Sea

"Pah! Do we have to come directly from the sea? Can't we just row a boat?"

Jeremiah spit out sea water and complained to the tattooed man next to him. After he told the tattooed man that he wanted to go to the island, the man threw him into the water and then dragged him all the way to the shore.

He was indeed being dragged. Although Jeremiah could swim, the tattooed man was like a fish when he entered the sea, moving at a very fast speed.

The man glanced at Jeremiah and walked towards the island without saying a word.

Damn it, these people coming out of the Temple of Poseidon are all crazy and can’t talk properly at all.

There have been several cases when collecting maritime taxes before, where problems that could have been solved by threats or intimidation ended up in violence.

I don't know why the Governor wants to cooperate with this group of people, although they are indeed good at fighting.

Jeremiah looked at the tattooed man with a gloomy face, thinking about how to deal with these lunatics when he became the pirate king in the future, but he found that someone suddenly rushed over and pressed him to the ground.

"I didn't. Ugh."

Before Jeremiah could finish his words, the tattooed man covered his mouth tightly with his hand. His body was pressed to the ground, unable to move. He could only stare at the tattooed man with wide eyes in horror.

The tattooed man looked extremely serious, his eyes fixed on the front, his ears moving slightly as if he was listening to something.

Although Jeremiah was filled with anger and confusion, he did not dare to struggle anymore when he saw the man was so nervous. He could only hold his breath and wait quietly.

After a few seconds, the tattooed man slowly released his hand and whispered, "There are patrol officers here, don't make any noise."

Jeremiah finally understood and felt a wave of fear. He carefully raised his head and followed the tattooed man's gaze. Sure enough, he saw several blurry figures in the distance gradually disappearing into the distance.

“Damn, I almost got discovered…” Jeremiah cursed under his breath, then looked at the tattooed man with a hint of dissatisfaction in his tone, “You knew there were patrols here a long time ago, why didn’t you tell me in advance?”

The tattooed man gave him a cold look, a hint of disdain in his tone.

"You're too noisy."

Jeremiah was choked and speechless. He could only glare at the tattooed man fiercely, cursing in his heart: "These lunatics in the Temple of Poseidon are really impossible to communicate with!"

The two men lay quietly on the ground until the patrolling guard walked away. The tattooed man stood up and motioned for Jeremiah to follow. Although Jeremiah was reluctant, he knew that now was not the time to lose his temper, so he could only follow behind obediently.

They advanced cautiously along the shadows of the shoreline. The tattooed man's movements were light and agile, as if blending into the darkness. Although Jeremiah prided himself on his agility, he still found it difficult to follow the tattooed man.

Soon, the two approached Xius's manor.

Jeremiah had seen this place before. He had taken a few glances at it from afar when he collected maritime taxes last time.

The manor was brightly lit. The sailors had not lied to him. There was indeed a dinner party being held here.

Jeremiah was about to step forward when he noticed the tattooed man next to him was frowning.

"What's wrong? Is something wrong?"

"It went so well."

Good or bad?

At most, he would be discovered. Jeremiah was not really worried. He came here on behalf of the Pirate Court. If Zeus did not give an explanation, Black Sail should give him an explanation.

Besides, with the tattooed man around, there's no need to worry about any safety issues. These people on the island are just mortals after all. Jeremiah has seen extraordinary powers, and a mortal's flesh and blood body can never resist.

The tattooed man didn't say anything else, but continued to frown, scanning his surroundings with vigilance. His intuition told him that things were not as simple as they seemed. Although the manor's guards were few, they wouldn't let them approach the core area so easily.

Jeremiah couldn't stay still any longer. He emerged from the shadows of the bushes and walked to the entrance of the manor. "Mr. Jeremiah, welcome."

The old butler at the door greeted him with a smile, as if he was just an ordinary guest.

Jeremiah glanced at him, snorted, and walked in. He wanted to see what tricks this lord had.

After taking two steps, he suddenly felt something was wrong and turned around to look behind him.

The tattooed man had been following him, but after entering the manor, he suddenly froze there.

"What are you waiting for? Come in?"

Jeremiah looked around with some confusion, and only took his hand off the hilt of the knife after confirming that there was no one around.

"Something in the sea"

"what?"

"Too much"

The tattooed man suddenly turned around and left the manor. Jeremiah chased him for a few steps, but no matter how he called out to him, he didn't turn back.

Jeremiah stood at the gate of the manor, watching the tattooed man disappear into the night, his heart filled with confusion and uneasiness. He cursed under his breath, "What the hell is this madman doing?"

It was the first time he saw the tattooed man like this. Could there be something in the manor?
Thinking of this, Jeremiah felt a little nervous.

Do you want.
"Long time no see, Jeremiah."

Suddenly a voice came from behind him. Jeremiah turned around and saw it was Hughes.

He was wearing a formal suit, holding a wine glass in his hand, and looking here with cold eyes.

"You've come just in time. I'm doing some product demonstrations here. You can take a sample back. Gem Bay will be interested."

After saying this, Hughes walked back to the banquet hall.

Jeremiah looked at the brightly lit manor behind Hughes, then turned to look at the tattooed man who was walking away quickly and whose figure was about to blend into the darkness, and took a deep breath.

"Damn it, never mind!" Jeremiah gritted his teeth and decided to act alone. He straightened his clothes, trying to make himself look less disheveled, and then strode into the manor.

"My Lord, the tattooed man has left."

"Where are you going?"

"He jumped directly into the sea and swam towards the pirate ship. He swam quite fast for a human."

"Okay, keep watching that ship. These pirates have given me quite a few surprises."

The two pirates had been discovered by his banshee since they came ashore. Seeing that there were only two of them, Zeus did not stop them. Instead, he wanted to see what they were going to do.

Unexpectedly, they came to the manor to cause trouble when they had the most people together. They were very lucky.

Hughes felt Jeremiah's movements behind him and a smile appeared on his lips.

He came at the right time, as he wanted to show Beatrice the island's products and at the same time intimidate the pirates.

After whispering a few words to Alexi, Hughes walked to the center of the banquet hall.
