Chapter 109 Special Episode

Theatrical version and OVA are not the same thing, but they are similar in type. They are both special editions with different stories from the original work after it has been released.

In later times with the development of the Internet, there is no difference between them. The only difference is that the OVA is shorter and the theatrical version is longer. One is mainly broadcast on the Internet and on DVDs, while the other is mainly released in theaters.

At present, this rewritten Ultraman work belongs to the OVA version, with a total length of only fifty minutes. Excluding a brief recap, opening and ending credits, and background introduction, the main film is actually only forty minutes.

A week later, Saturday.

This time, Gu Ming did not go home, but went to the office, pulled up an antenna in the warehouse, paid money, and bought a broken TV, which cost Gu Ming several thousand yen.

Even so, everyone was still very happy. There were mats on the ground, so they didn't worry about having no place to sit. They sat on the mats in groups of three or five, squeezed in front of the small TV to watch TV, and ordered food delivery.

Although Tomb of the Righteous was their first work, Gu Ming had not yet set up an office at that time, so this OVA was their first work after they were formed. Basically everyone had a shot, although most of them were just extras for a few seconds.

"It's started, it's started!"

“Don’t squeeze me…”

"Stop touching!"

After a short music segment, the main film begins.

Five years after the first Ultraman story, Team Kot was disbanded, Hayata Susumu went to the Land of Light with Ultraman, and Captain Muramatsu and others also had their own careers. Although they did not appear in the film, they were mentioned in the dialogue.

The only two remaining members, Ide and Arashi, take on the duties of advisors to the security team and supervise the training of new guard members.

Lan took out the modified MARS133 ray gun and fired a burst of shots, hitting the target accurately, causing the surrounding new team members to exclaim in amazement.

“That’s me!”

"And me too..."

Several teenagers chattered, and Manatsu Ryu put a hand on each of their shoulders.

Don't talk and focus on watching TV!
Lan and Ide were showing off their skills to the new members when suddenly, there was a loud noise and light in the base, red light filled the air, and a voice came from the intercom.

Someone has invaded the security base.

Before the new team members could react, Lan and Ide had already equipped themselves with weapons and were each leading their own men to prepare for the search.

This shot was specially suggested by Gu Ming, and Wan Guyi thought it was very good, so he adopted it.

The camera is placed closely behind Lan, following him from an over-the-shoulder perspective as he carefully explores and searches the headquarters building.

This over-the-shoulder perspective can effectively deepen the impression of the scene. Although it is not the first time it has been used in film history, it is definitely the first time it has been used in Japan.

No one dared to make a sound, and the chewing sounds suddenly quieted down, for fear that some horrific scene would appear on the screen.

A series of tiny noises prompted Lan to search carefully, but all he heard was the feeble sound of a broken device.

Lan had just breathed a sigh of relief when suddenly, a figure appeared in the corner. Lan wanted to go over and shoot, but the other person was already close and grabbed Lan's hand.

Of course, Lan was no pushover, and he reacted quickly, pulling out his short knife to fight back, but was thrown from behind by the attacker, knocking him to the ground.

The camera then moved and gave Gu Ming a close-up of his face.

Alien!
Gu Ming took a deep breath.

too ugly!
He didn’t say it, but Wangu’s makeup artist’s skills are really not good!
Everyone in the office laughed politely but awkwardly.

It turned out to be Brother Gugu!

You really can't tell at first glance.

The plot does not reveal Gu Ming's identity here. He is just a strange alien who comes to warn the security team that the largest invasion in history is about to come and aliens will come to Earth again.

Then, a series of incidents and attacks occurred. The fake Ultraman incarnated by the Zarab alien appeared and caused destruction. The residents seemed to have no memory and began to suspect again that we were attacked by Ultraman again.

At the same time, small aliens were causing trouble everywhere. The security team assisted in the attack, but due to their lack of experience, they encountered difficulties. Fortunately, two senior members of the Kot team assisted them and they were able to evacuate in an orderly manner.

However, an accident happened in the end. After a building was attacked, two team members were stuck in a gap and could not escape.

Ide tried his best but couldn't pull Lan out of the gap.

At the moment of crisis, a red ball of light fell from the sky and knocked the Zarab people away.

Of course, it was Ultraman who came from the Land of Light.

From this moment on, Gu Ming began to create carefully crafted battle scenes. He first had a high-speed fight with the Zarab people, and then was suddenly attacked by the Baltan people. After finding the right opportunity to blow up the Zarab people, he started a round of flying battle with the Baltan people.

The model and the real person hanging on the wire worked together to create a very beautiful air combat effect, and Baltan was eventually defeated.

At this moment, Zetton comes again, and Ultraman with a red light is naturally unable to cope with it. After a life-and-death battle, he is finally defeated.

The plot also reached its climax at this moment. With the prayers of a little child, more and more people became involved.

So people's thoughts and trust finally turned into light, allowing Ultraman to stand up again, emitting energy-saturated colorful Spysum rays, blowing up Jetton, and then sweeping away the Jetton alien's spaceship in the sky, and then left.

Originally, Gu Ming wanted to use it to lay some foreshadowing, such as the next successor Seven, or other similar settings.

But these were rejected by Wangu, who simply adopted this result.

Gu Ming also plans to add a small easter egg, such as "Director Mantani Eiji's thoughts turned into a beam of light."

However, this was personally rejected by Eiji Mantani, so the plan was abandoned.

The forty-minute plot was short but exhilarating, leaving everyone who watched it feeling very satisfied.

In particular, the last ten minutes of non-stop fighting pushed the action to its limit.

And they also contributed to this scene.

"It seems like I can still do this kind of thing well!"

Manatsu Ryuu felt somewhat satisfied.

He plays the role of the Zarab alien, and so far, it seems that his performance is pretty good.

He also made a real-life appearance in the story, playing the role of a sports club coach who bravely rushed forward to fight the aliens, but was hit by a ray gun and fell down.

Now he began to feel confident and thought he had the ability to compete for the role of the main character in the suit.

The others also had some shots, even if it was just for a moment, they still played a role.

Thinking about how they could do so many things together and almost dominated the creation of the action scenes in a TV show, the teenagers felt very satisfied.

In this way, life will not be lived in vain!

Gu Ming crossed his arms, also looking satisfied.

He did not involve more parts this time, but mainly put a lot of thought into the design of the final fighting part. In less than ten minutes of content, he designed different styles, including a quick fight with Zarab, an air battle with Baltan's phantom clone, and a head-on fight with Zetton.

With the current level of photography technology and special effects, it is impossible to find a fight of the same level within ten years.

"I wonder how this OVA will perform in terms of viewership, but TBS did release a preview..."

Gu Ming thought that if the OVA was suitable, then a sequel should probably be put on the agenda.

Even if Wangu doesn't want to shoot yet, TBS will definitely ask them to continue filming.

Eiji Mantani's position is too high, and ordinary people cannot ask him to make decisions, unless it is Director Kagi Takeshi of TBS.

Since we're going to make a sequel.

Gu Ming thought, it’s about time to find him!
