Light's Dawn of Azeroth
Chapter 771, Section 49: My Hometown in the Shadows, the Exiled Children Want the Zhang Family!
Chapter 771, Section 49: The Homeland in the Shadows, the Exiled Children Are Going Home!
Countless planets exist within the distorted void.
This Fel Realm is the Force Realm that most closely resembles the material universe in form. Some sorcerers who have long studied the Twisting Nether claim with certainty that the Twisting Nether is a reflection of the material universe, possessing an infinite number of star-sea worlds just like the material universe.
Of course, warlocks often suffer from mental problems due to their prolonged use of fel energy, so their research conclusions are generally unreliable and unacceptable.
However, to be fair, the Twisting Nether is indeed vast; otherwise, it could not have created such an exaggerated physical force as the Burning Legion.
Given the demons' astonishing death rate, if there weren't enough planets in this godforsaken place to give birth to demons, the Burning Legion would have already destroyed itself after maintaining such high attrition rates for over 20,000 years.
There are many races in the Twisting Nether, but they all share a common name: "Demons." The demons themselves accept this definition of "racial unity," and no demon would consider itself not a demon. In short, the Twisting Nether is the home of the demons. Although the demons may not necessarily like this place, they have been given a very close connection with the Twisting Nether from the moment they were born.
But now, there is a "sea of stars" in the Twisted Nether that no longer belongs to the demons.
If the distorted void were also shaped into a "celestial globe", then it would be obvious that a small area had been dyed a different color.
That sector is crudely referred to by the demons in the current Twisting Nether as the "Endless Blood War".
It means exactly what it sounds like: while the Burning Legion was invading Azeroth in an attempt to destroy the Supreme Star Soul for the Dark Titans, few people knew that an endless blood war, far exceeding the intensity and scale of wars in the material world, was also taking place in the Twisting Nether.
It even caught Sargeras's attention.
But the Dark Titan clearly doesn't see these Zerg invaders as a problem.
He couldn't be bothered!
Kil'jaeden then ordered all the demons in this sector not to participate in the Burning Legion's external conquests; their sole task was to suppress the insect plague in this sector and prevent it from spreading outwards.
The demons liked the command, just as they enjoyed the endless war of "killing and being killed".
The problem is that this is in the Twisting Nether, where demons who die are truly dead. They cannot be resurrected and will return to the Fel Force. Therefore, this battle with the Shadowbug swarm is like a "true damage" buff for the demons, and the cowardly demons don't even dare to look at this place.
Only the fiercest, most insane, and most ruthless demons dare to enter such a battlefield.
This is, after all, "defending the homeland" rather than "aggression against foreign powers." Therefore, the will of the Twisted Void is very "generous" to the demons who can survive here. Under the pressure of the terrifying high-intensity war, demons who can survive five wars here will be given true blessings by fel energy, making their path to ascension unobstructed.
However, less than 1% of the demons who participated in the wars survived all five.
Each batch of demons thrown into the sector of the Endless Blood War has an average lifespan of no more than four hours. In order to ensure that the swarm's expansion in all directions can be blocked, the rate at which demons are born in the worlds of this sector is more than ten times that of other worlds.
Every minute, a "demon tide" forms and crashes towards the swarm's controlled area. It's much like the turbulent sea that constantly erodes the reefs; it seems fierce and violent, but it rarely leaves a mark on the silent rocks.
Even more astonishingly, despite such tight defenses, the Zerg-controlled area in the Endless Bloodbath was still slowly but steadily expanding outwards.
This means that even if the Twisting Nether increases the rate of demon birth to its limit, it is still unable to suppress the Shadow Chaser swarm's external wars.
If the demons are already under such pressure, the pressure on the swarm must be even greater.
The number of death messages that the Overlord Insect receives every minute is like a waterfall, yet it still manages to expand, which means that the Insect swarm is being born at a much higher rate than the demons.
Because the individual strength of the Zerg swarm is far less than that of the demons, they must maintain a birth rate several times higher than that of the demons in order to sustain the war.
However, in the Twisting Nether, besides recycling the remains of the insectoids, the only thing left for them to use as biomass is the fel-powered flesh and blood of demons. Therefore, it can be concluded that the current insectoid swarm has fully adapted to fel energy, and their biomass conversion rate has been pushed to an unbelievable level by the pressure of war.
The distribution of Zerg forces in this Endless Bloodbath sector is a typical "cauliflower" arrangement.
The Queen of Blades divided the Zerg battlefield into the outermost Bloodbath Zone, the inner combat zone, the third-layer maintenance zone, and the core breeding zone, which together with several planets forming the "core" at the center of the Bloodbath.
Like a swarm of giant insects, as large as a star sector, it advances this conflict with absolute precision and ruthless war mentality, with no end in sight.
If the insects had thoughts, they would surely feel despair and boredom with the battle. However, a war-specialized insect swarm simply does not possess such weaklings.
Their existence is for the great cycle of reincarnation!
This bloody and brutal cycle is exactly what the Shadow Chaser swarm wants. Every single insect, from the lowest worker bee to the overlord who is the leader of the swarm, is throwing themselves into this war, which uses mountains of corpses and seas of blood as a means of "sacrifice," in an attempt to reach the next stage of "supreme evolution."
Amidst countless bloody battles, on a planet at the very heart of the Blood Wars Sector, the Queen of Blades flapped her bone wings and landed in this "carpet world" that had been completely transformed by the Zerg swarm. She moved along the massive craters toward the world's core, as if navigating a maze.
Wherever they went, there were different functional insect nests that were constantly breeding various kinds of insects according to their respective duties.
It is impossible for war bugs to breed in this core area. The ones that can be born here are the lord bugs and swarm governors who will serve as commanders. After they are born, they will be assigned missions and travel to their respective war zones by the Zerg Saint Leviathan, which travels back and forth between the battlefields. Under the precise coordination of the swarm's will, when the lord bugs arrive at the front line, they will be given a swarm specially prepared for them.
They will rush to the battlefield immediately, and then, in their short lives with an average survival time of less than four hours, they will dedicate their strength to the Great Cycle and the Supreme Evolution.
As for the Swarm Archons, these insects, who tend to play the roles of spellcasters and "priests," rarely go to the front lines. Instead, they act as "patrolmen" between the preparation and combat zones, selecting "talented" warrior insects for the Swarm and extracting their individual consciousness to weave into the Shadow Chaser Swarm's gene pool.
In this way, after these talented warrior bugs die in battle, they will be "resurrected" from the hero bug hive in the maintenance area in a short period of time and then put back into the battlefield.
The well-established Great Cycle has created an efficient and perfect "talent selection" system for the Shadow Chaser Swarm, and the number of elite units known as "Swarm Warriors" has now exceeded 100,000.
These "immortal insects" are the backbone of the swarm; they are the true inheritors of the swarm!
The Queen of Blades admired the "invincible swarm" that she and the Overmind had painstakingly built with pride and satisfaction, a sense of accomplishment filling her heart.
She knew very well that the great cycle of the Twisted Void had progressed to this point, and no matter how hard the demons tried, they could no longer extinguish the swarm of fire.
The swarm will remain here to continue being "refined." Without Sargeras' intervention, they can continue this great cycle until the day the universe is destroyed, or completely crush the demon civilization and transform the Twisting Nether into a massive lair for the swarm.
This arrogant goal will last for at least 100,000 years.
But what does that matter?
Through the power of genetic inheritance, the swarm has long since achieved "immortality".
However, today, the situation has changed.
The summons from the Overmind within the will of the Swarm prompted the Queen of Blades to return from the bloodbath at top speed. Although the Overmind did not explicitly state it, the Queen of Blades already guessed what was about to happen.
The Lightforger is summoning
The time has come for the Shadow Chaser swarm to return to the Sea of No Light.
Ah, the exiled are about to return to that dark land with the spark of the Great Cycle, and a new Great Cycle is about to begin!
The thought of being forced to leave the Sea of Darkness in humiliation, and now being able to return home with a swarm of insects forged into a supreme weapon by the flames of war, made the Queen of Blades tremble with excitement.
She didn't dislike the Twisting Nether, a star system rife with war, but how should I put it?
As Void creatures, perhaps returning to the Sea of No Light is the right path for them. The mysteries of fel energy still need to be unraveled, but the power obtained from demon genes can only make the swarm stronger. Only by continuously advancing on the path of the Void can the swarm truly reach the core realm of "supreme evolution".
Most importantly, the Lightforged had promised a victory that would "wash the sea of light in blood."
The internal chaos within the Void faction has long since tarnished the glory of the Void. How could the Void's great cause possibly be accomplished when it is with those cowards of the Eclipse faction who pin their hopes on "spectacles"?
Only by completely crushing that spineless and chaotic camp can the long-degenerate Sea of Darkness be reborn.
The Lightforged seek a balance of the Forces, requiring that each Force be neither too strong nor too weak. Only after the Shadowchaser swarm crushed the Eclipse Faction's resistance were these powerful children of the Sea of No Light qualified to take over the power to guide the evolution of the Void. Of course, the Sea of No Light is vast and boundless; even for the Shadowchaser swarm to unify it, it would require a journey of at least tens of thousands of years.
But still the same sentence.
Time has lost its meaning for the swarm.
"buzz"
As the Queen of Blades retracted her bone wings and landed at the core of the world, the four demigod warriors guarding the Overlord immediately made way for her.
The armor of these four warrior insects was engraved with patterns resembling hymns using insect runes, a record of the insect civilization's "glory."
Each rune represents a victorious raid in which these insects participated. Judging from the terrifying patterns on the shells of these four insects, they are very likely members of the group of insects that initially followed the Overmind and the Queen of Blades into the Twisting Nether.
They fought in every battle of the entire cycle and miraculously survived to this day; each of them is a true legend.
In the now-civilized Zerg swarms, such insects are revered as "elders." Even the hellhounds in the most remote regions of the Twisting Nether know that if an "elder insect" appears in a war, it means that the intensity of the war will soar to a level that would make even the most fanatical abyss lord tremble.
Ha, abyss lord?
Those savage and brutal creatures are merely the "food" of the Elder Worms.
The Queen of Blades raised her antimatter claws, paying homage to the Elders in her own way. The Elders bowed down, expressing their respect to the Queen of the Swarm.
Although these actions can all be accomplished through the will of the swarm, how should I put it?
The Zerg swarm has developed its own unique civilization. Especially for the superior Zerg who enjoy a high degree of freedom in the swarm's will, the formation of a unique hierarchy is an inevitable result.
However, when the Queen of Blades stepped into the Overmind's hive, she saw an "old friend".
Those were some very strange insects.
They have distinct insectoid characteristics, covered in insect armor that can resist fel fire, and possess the highest-grade antimatter claws, while also carrying weapons made from demon skulls and claws.
They maintain a human form, are very robust, and have a ferocious aura. If you have to say, these guys are more like hybrids of humanoid creatures and Zerg genes. They are not simply insects. Although they can join the Zerg will, they do not enjoy a high degree of freedom within it.
The Queen of Blades recognized these guys.
This is a unique branch born from the last Odachi people who chose to embrace the Swarm and use its genes to rebuild their civilization.
They retained the Odachi's extraordinary talent of becoming stronger with each battle, but used swarm reproduction to revitalize their extinct civilization. Although this group of insects still calls themselves "Odachi," the only thing they have in common with the original Odachi is their name and history.
These "Odachi insectoids" have been active in the combat zones and bloodbath zones.
They embrace the Great Cycle, but their interest in slaughtering demons far outweighs their duty and the pursuit of victory. They often alter the swarm's battle plans on their own initiative because of their desire to kill demons, which greatly displeases the efficiency-loving Queen of Blades and Overmind.
But the Odachi people have done the Zerg swarm a favor.
If it weren't for them leading the way, the swarm would never have been able to establish itself in the Twisting Nether.
Now, the Overlord has summoned the elders and leaders of the Odachi insectoids, presumably indicating that they are truly "parting ways."
that's the truth.
The Queen of Blades stood in the shadow of the Overlord, whose size rivaled that of a mountain, listening to the conversation between the Overlord and the elder of the Oddachi insectoid race. The Overlord spoke in a whimpering voice:
"The Shadow Swarm has been summoned. We will soon return to the Sea of No Light to begin a new cycle of reincarnation and eternal war in our birthplace. However, the great cycle of the Swarm in the Twisting Nether cannot end here."
After we leave, the Oddachi will take over the position of Overmind. You must choose your own Queen of Blades as the Swarm Commander and build your Swarm by imitating the Swarm's operating model.
We have received the promise of the Lightforgers that we will bestow upon you a Swarm name that is separate from the Shadowchaser Swarm!
The Lightforgers have declared that from this day forward, you shall call yourselves the 'Torana' swarm.
Do you have any objections to this?
The Overlord didn't need to consult these Odachi insectoids at all; manipulated by the swarm's will, they had no right to object.
But since the ruler has asked, it means that this is not just its meaning.
The elder of the Odachi insectoids before him could understand this as well. Its ferocious elytra and mouthparts twitched, and then it knelt down under the cold gaze of the Queen of Blades.
It said loudly:
"Then, the Toranar Swarm will take over from the Shadow Chaser Swarm to continue this great cycle of the Twisting Nether. We are willing to take on this important task, and we are willing to dedicate everything to the great cycle and the great cause of slaughtering demons."
Please allow me to undergo the Abathurs's transformation surgery immediately.
I will succeed you as the ruler of the Toranar Swarm, and the invincible Valkyrie among us will become the Blade Queen of the Odachi.
"You must be prepared to face the devil's counterattack."
The Queen of Blades, as the war commander, offered this reminder:
"The Shadow Swarm will take away all the 'Swarm Warriors' you've accumulated so far. This means you need to shrink your territory as much as possible in order to withstand the demons' next frenzied counterattack. You also need to establish your talent selection system as quickly as possible."
It's difficult.
The Tolanar swarm may be wiped out within a week.
"No! How could we, who inherited this name, so humiliate the Fearless?"
The elder of the Odachi insectoids let out a strange laugh and said:
"We will abandon this place after a fierce and bloody battle! Under the cover of defeat, we will return to hunter-gatherer mode and reclaim this sector of endless bloodshed for the demons. In the shadow of their triumphant joy, the Toranar swarm will rise again."
We will eventually restart the endless blood war.
But not here, but in the more fertile core sector of the Twisting Nether.
Please await news of the Odachi insectoids' victory in the Sea of Light, while we, in our different realms, serve and dedicate ourselves to the common Great Cycle and the Supreme Evolution.
I wish you a successful conquest of the Sea of No Light.
One day, we who have attained nirvana in the cycle of reincarnation will meet again amidst the sea of stars!
