Light's Dawn of Azeroth

Chapter 752, Section 30: Fate is sealed! A female troll is destined to pry open the helmet!

The great battle against the demons began at midnight on the second day after Azshara awoke.

To ensure his attack on the Star Soul Temple wouldn't be disrupted, Kil'jaeden staked all his resources on it.

How exaggerated was the scale of this attack?
Every major city in Azeroth receives the focused attention of at least ten fel-powered warships. The demons have abandoned all martial ethics; they don't care about the casualties of the demons charging on the ground and are frantically unleashing devastating firepower on every city in Azeroth.

It wasn't even for killing, but simply to delay those increasingly powerful saviors.

The Lightforged Fleet's starships and demon warships engaged in a brutal battle within the atmosphere. Even the Astral Consortium's escort ships knew that it was time to fight to the death. The Voidlings extorted a large sum of money and then deployed their fleets to the vicinity of every city that needed air defense assistance.

Under that outrageous, overwhelming barrage of firepower, the warriors of Azeroth were unable to fight the demons on the surface. However, with the help of the insect swarm, they had a relatively safe tunnel system underground.

Faced with the demons' saturation invasion, which was relentless and ruthless, the warriors put up a difficult resistance in every possible area where they could fight back.

Two hours after the start of the war.

Three peaks of Mount Hyjal were flattened, two-thirds of Stormwind City was destroyed, the supreme god Yulong was killed in battle, and Niuzao was seriously injured.

The Temple of Karabor in Draenor was breached, and three Naaru perished in the demonic attack.

The third hour.

Silvermoon City was largely wiped out, and the Temple of the Dragons collapsed completely under the firepower of the starships. Xiong Da and Xiong Er died in the ruins of Quel'Thalas, but they successfully covered the retreat of the Sun King and his army to Sunstrider Island.

Old Velen was seriously injured and fell to the ground while protecting Shattrath City, and Lord Margok took over command.

The fourth hour.

Seven Loa gods of Dazar'alor perished in the battle, yet the city still could not be saved. The iconic Colossus Seal was completely destroyed. Fortunately, the threat to Uldir has been resolved; otherwise, the destruction of this seal alone would have caused a major upheaval.

To prevent demons from approaching the Heart of the World through the Core Tunnel, the earth spirits of Khaz'Agar chose to blow up the tunnel they had spent thousands of years digging, and sent many civilians of various races who had come to seek refuge into the underground valley illuminated by light. In the inner world of the earth, it is currently the safest place in Azeroth.

The fifth hour.

The Titan city of Ulduar has fallen, and the Guardians are forced to fight street battles against demons in their own icy city.

All four Dragon Aspects were severely wounded. The old blue dragon Malygos was so badly injured that he was barely clinging to life and was dragged back to the Nexus by Sindragosa for treatment. The demons followed closely behind, besieging the Nexus in a desperate attempt to kill the Spellweaver. This forced the blue dragons to use Focusing Iris, which flattened one-sixth of Northrend in a single blow.

The damned Lich King seized the opportunity, throwing all his military forces in Northrend into the destructive war to aid the demons in their extermination, hoping that Dog Egg could escape the inevitable reckoning.

The sixth hour.

The Shadow Kingdom of Kul Tiras was invaded by demons. The still-hatching Leviathan was ambushed and killed by two demon warbands. Stormlord was killed in battle, and the Overmind was also lost. The Savior Swarm suffered heavy losses.

To prevent the Zerg swarm from collapsing, Anveena forcibly transformed Queen Nephalem into an Overmind, which barely ensured that the Zerg swarm could continue fighting throughout Azeroth.

When the World Tree Tayara of Draenor had all its canopies burned away, and the world was on the verge of collapse, Tayara finally released Norgannon, the Dreamweaver, who had been suppressed by it.

The Titan Soul cast a spell, temporarily dragging the exhausted Draenor into the Astral Plane and sending all the warriors of that world to Azeroth to help resist. This signifies that the demons have achieved a stage victory, and Kil'jaeden can finally unite his forces and launch a full-scale attack on Azeroth.

Sixth hour and forty minutes.

Xue Nu died in battle, White Tiger Temple was destroyed, Vale of Eternal Blossoms completely fell, Shadowpan Monastery was covered by fire, and Zhu Talan and the Shadowpan faction were forced to retreat to Thunder Island for a final resistance.

The seventh hour.

The Sky Wall was occupied by demons, and the Firelands fell to the enemy. The Hydra's Water Elemental Legion in the Abyss Throat wanted to retreat, but the Tidehunters were forced to hold out on the front line by Aegwynn's knife.

The resistance front in Azeroth has almost completely collapsed!
Although they killed at least three times as many demons during their constant retreat and took down at least 150 fel-elemental hunting ships in nearly seven hours of fighting, this could not stop the terrifying power generated after the entire Twisting Nether was mobilized.

This is essentially equivalent to Azeroth fighting the entire Fel faction single-handedly at this moment.

It can be said that in the past 25,000 years of the Burning Crusade, no battle has ever been of such terrifying scale.

The ancient war ten thousand years ago and the great battle of Argus more than twenty thousand years ago are nothing compared to the intensity of the war now. At this moment, demons will descend upon any place in Azeroth where life exists.

In this war, there is no longer any distinction between a main attack and a feint.

Kil'jaeden used the most foolish and unsolvable saturation strategy, slamming a number of demons—at least three times the total population of Azeroth—into the world. This meant that even a farmer in Westfall would have to kill at least three demons with a pitchfork to defeat the Burning Legion's total invasion.

But thinking about it, I know it's impossible to do.

Eight hours after the invasion began, after confirming that there were no more troops available in the entire world of Azeroth, Kil'jaeden finally took to the field himself.

The Conquerors landed in the Tanaris desert and destroyed Gadgetzan and Gadgetzan in just ten minutes, turning most of the desert into a fel-fueled wasteland. Under their command, an almost endless army of demons broke through to the Temple of the Star Soul in Silithus.

The Fallen Gogones was also thrown into the sands of Silithus.

This time, the Conquerors have no intention of reclaiming it, which means this fel-powered minor god will fight to the bitter end here.

Lord Argus appeared to confront Gorgonath, and the two Moon Goddesses, Tyrande and Neli, were also summoned to the desert to face the demon's desperate battle.

This is now the real final battle, and the Supreme Star Soul is no longer holding back.

She unleashed her power of creation upon all the saviors and children of the world within the Arch Satellite Soul Temple, commanding them to erect defenses and slaughter the attacking demons, thus completing what was probably the most terrifying and intense defensive battle in the entire galaxy.

At this moment, all the saviors were already preparing in the Star Soul Temple. All the saviors, including Lothar, looked very haggard. They did not talk, but silently sharpened their weapons.

These guys are basically leaders of various factions. Instead of commanding the war in their respective territories, they have gathered here when the demons launched their all-out attack.

This essentially means that everyone agrees that other places are no longer defensible, and only by slaying the Great Demon Lord and the Fallen Titan in Silithus can this saturation invasion be resolved at its source.

One teleportation portal after another opened in the secret hall, and powerful figures from all over the world were invited here. Each of them had a strong battle aura. Even the sect leader Zhu Talan, who always pursued a perfect state of mind, had bloodshot eyes and a murderous aura all over his body.

It's like a final, desperate resistance is about to begin.

"When does he come back?"

Kael'thas, wielding Flame Strike, strode up to the wounded old Velen, disregarding all formalities, and loudly proclaimed:

"The Azerothian Resistance has exhausted its potential; we are fighting the entire Twisting Nether single-handedly! All the demons in the entire star system have been ruthlessly bet by Kil'jaeden on our world, and there are more demons here than all the people who have died in this world combined!"

We need Diakum and the massive army he promised.
So, when is he coming back?

"soon."

Exhausted Velen didn't take Kael'thas's temper to heart.

He knew very well that the pressure the Sun King was under, as well as the pressure all the leaders here were under, had reached their limits.

Every minute and every second, warriors and innocents are dying. If there is no turning back, Azeroth may become a "death star" in no more than twelve hours.

Viren said:
"It's not just Diakum who will be coming. The Lightforged fleet of the Legion of the Light has arrived in Proxima Centauri. In two hours at most, the main force of the Legion of the Light will arrive in Azeroth, bringing with them all the fleets they can use."

"Two hours? In two hours, all my people will be dead!"

Having been dragged here, King Hogger grabbed his head and screamed:

"Those demons don't care who you are or what race you are. When I left Fernskin Valley, I saw with my own eyes that they even started killing the Naga, who were part of the demon army! The demons have no intention of letting any living being in this world go."
Two hours won't do!
We need support immediately.

"It's no use shouting these things now."

Sir Ryan Wrynn, Chancellor of the Stromka Empire, leaning on his holy blade, said to Hogger:
“Everyone needs support, but there is no more support now. We must besiege Kil'jaeden and his fallen Titan here. Only in this way can we possibly end this demonic invasion. So, stay strong, Chieftain Hogg.”

"How can you expect me to be resolute?" Hogg even cried under the pressure.

He was a gnoll born in Elwynn Forest. Although he had good luck in conquering his own territory, he was not as determined as the other saviors.

Its cries echoed through the temple, casting a somber mood, until the hot-tempered Fandral Staghelm stepped forward and slapped it twice across the face.

Old Deer Helmet cursed:
"What are you crying for! The person isn't dead yet, aren't you bringing bad luck!"

"I just"

Before Hogg could finish his weak rebuttal, a loud bang erupted outside the Star Soul Temple, as if something had slammed into the ground.

This prompted the saviors to rush out of the temple to investigate. They then saw a magnificent trail in the distant sky above Silithus, and at the end of that trail, a crashing "asteroid" had completed its "mission."

"That is."

Lightforged Roar's eyes widened. Leaning on his Bloodhowl, he said in a trembling voice:

"That's the 'Shattered Hand Abyss'! Kargath smashed his entire arena down, did he and his gladiators all...?"

"Not really."

Khadgar shook his head and said:

“I’ve seen the Shattered Hand Abyss before. It was a small planet. What’s crashing down now is just a meteorite. It’s probably debris from when that small planet was blasted apart by the demon warship.”

"No! It was those demon slayers who shattered their own little planet, turning the fragments into meteorites that crashed down on the surface of Azeroth, thus completing their slaughter of demons."

The blind prophet Drek'Thar sighed and said:

"The elements are wailing, they are lamenting this noble sacrifice, but now the surface of Azeroth is full of demons, this frenzied attack will actually be more effective, after all, using these meteors to kill demons is much faster than the swords in the hands of warriors."

"That sadist really stole the show!"

Durotan grinned, hoisted his Coldsteel Battle Axe, and turned to the Saviors behind him, whose expressions varied, and said:
"We're already here, we can't let that madman Kargath look down on us, so let's not wait any longer. Let's start the war! Right here, outside the temple of the Lord of Azeroth, under the protection of the World Mother, let's fight the demons who want to exterminate us and complete this battle that is destined to be recorded in the annals of the stars!"

I'll most likely die here.

So, if anyone collects my body, please remember to bring my ashes back to Frostfire Ridge if my hometown still exists after the war.

"What discouraging talk, old man!"

Griselda Blackhand, leaning on her warhammer, scoffed:

"You must live on and watch us young people accomplish great things! Listen! The howl of the Black Wolf God has begun, the wolf pack has arrived! It's time for war."

The orc leaders laughed heartily, and amidst the shouts of Margok's two heads cursing "a losing proposition," they set off for the battlefield to fight the demons. The saviors of Azeroth were also roused to a new level of morale.

However, while the others mounted their horses and rushed to the battlefield, a weary Lothar looked around, and finally stepped forward to Dean Aylia Bluemoon, asking softly:
"Where is Queen Azshara? Didn't she awaken? And she's the Daughter of the World, it's a bit unreasonable for a lesser god not to appear on this battlefield."

"You were just asking when Saint Diakum would return."

Lady Blue Moon said mysteriously:

"Such a great figure is crossing the line between life and death; how could he not even have a greeter? The Queen has personally taken charge of this matter. Don't worry, Lothar of Stromgarde, we will win!"
Look, the darkest hour is almost here, and dawn is just around the corner.

------

Northrend, Icecrown Glacier.

The terrain here has changed dramatically, probably because the blue dragons, driven to the brink of despair a few hours ago, used Focusing Iris to bombard the demons, causing the energy burst that blasted open a mountain pass connecting Icecrown Glacier to other parts of the continent.

It even caused serious cracks to appear on this ancient glacial land.

The Lich King Gul'dan's Black Palace, which he was building for himself, was "demolished" before it was even finished. Fortunately, Dog Egg was too scared to even think about asking the blue dragons for "compensation for the demolition."

As Azshara ascended the snow-covered Frozen Throne alone, accompanied by the cursed sword, Gul'dan was frantically trying to contact the Shadowlands.

But all the messages sent out disappeared without a trace. It seemed that Gul'dan had been making peace with an imagined force of death from the very beginning, and that the Lich King was destined from the start not to receive the glory that had been promised to him.

It seems that this was a scam from the very beginning.

Azshara stared expressionlessly at the Lich King, who was sculpted and attached to the Frozen Throne.

Within that strange, icy expanse, Gul'dan's spirit was bound by a suit of Lich King armor, maintaining its human form. The Helm of Domination on its head pulsed with a regal light, as Gul'dan attempted to attack Azshara before him with his terrifying mental power.

It tried to stop Azshara, but it couldn't.

"You! Don't come any closer!!!"

Dog Egg screamed in despair.

It didn't know why Azshara had come to it at this moment. Did this vengeful queen abandon the entire world that was about to fall in order to seek revenge?

No, ladies!
How can you be so petty?

It's just a trivial matter of me trying to kill you but you killing me instead. Why are you making such a big deal out of it?
"Didn't you hear that?"

Gul'dan screamed in his spirit voice:
"Azeroth is crying out in despair. Isn't this your world? As the queen, shouldn't you protect this world that is about to collapse and perish?"

Kil'jaeden is here!
Shouldn't you deal with it?

"Ignorant fool, your queen is about to save the world."

Azshara said it casually.

She ignored the psychic powers that had been mobilized; the chilling winds that froze souls could only blow her long white hair. It wasn't until the queen's fingers touched the Lich King's Helm of Domination that Gul'dan, who was frantically sending messages to the Shadowlands, finally heard that heavenly voice.

"what happened?"

Sachiel asked, clearly annoyed:
"Why are you constantly sending me messages to bother me about important matters? Don't you know I'm very busy?"

"Help! Boss!"

Gul'dan, as if grasping at a last straw, screamed:

"Azshara is going to kill me. She's going to take the Helm of Domination. Please save me! You promised me you'd give me a way out!"

"Yes, I did say that."

Sachir gave a subtle laugh and said:

"Therefore, you should first hand over the Helm of Domination to your queen, and then I will send someone to fetch you to the Venerable Torture Chamber of Torghast's Tower of Damned Souls, the Eternal Torture Chamber of Revendreth, and the Guillotine of the Theater of Maldraxxus."
You can choose any place as your permanent residence.

It's okay if you don't want to choose; the Black Hand Chieftain is eager to give you a 'way out'.

He missed you so much.

"You! I...no! That's not how it is! No!!!"
