Light's Dawn of Azeroth

Chapter 747, Part 25: Azshara's Awakening - The Queen has arrived in her loyal Azeroth.

Chapter 747, Section 25: Azshara's Awakening - The Queen Returns to Her Loyal Azeroth

The chilling, demonic blade pierced the queen's body.

The Soul Eater, displaying its sharp death power, was already prepared to deliver a fatal blow. The Lich King roared, and Dog Egg eagerly awaited the coronation of his Lich Queen.

The poor unlucky fellow is still unaware that Sachar has betrayed the Shadowlands; he's still dreaming of becoming a "superior being."

Let Azshara become the Lich Queen, sitting amidst the cold winds of Northrend, commanding the Scourge that I created myself. Then, give her the Helm of Domination. In this way, my mission as the "Lich King" will be over, and I can then rightfully go to the Shadowlands to "enjoy life."

Dog Egg is incredibly shrewd.

Even before Kil'jaeden launched this great war in Azeroth, it had doubts about whether the war would be successful.

Most importantly, although he was nominally a lackey of the legion, he was actually loyal to someone else.

If demons were to conquer or destroy Azeroth, wouldn't my mission be ruined?

However, it lacked the courage to confront the conquerors' destructive army head-on, and at this critical juncture, its communication with the Shadow Kingdom was also severed, leaving it with no choice but to make its own decisions and take action on its own.

It sounds very free.

But this kind of independent action means that if it does something wrong, Gou Dan will be the one to take the blame.

In addition, since the demon invasion, the war has never stopped, but given the current situation, victory is not just within reach, but also a long way off.

Gul'dan saw it clearly: the demons seemed powerful, but in reality, they had already used all their trump cards. Azeroth was in a sorry state, but that was all.

This has been going on for so long, and the demon vanguard can't even get close to the Temple of the World Soul. Now, with the help of the starry sea from Draenor, the demons are about to be finished. If I stay in Azeroth, I won't have a good outcome once the war ends, no matter who wins.

Since that's the case, it's best to find a capable person to take the blame as soon as possible so that I can get out of this crisis quickly.

Of course, although Gul'dan is cunning and evil, and does nothing of human nature, he is also a spellcaster. He also has some expectations about what kind of powerful lesser god of death Frostmourne will create after it pierces Azshara.

Just as Tosedrin had predicted, he only had this one moment to "deliver" the demon sword to Azshara.

The instant the demonic blade pierced the queen's body, Tosedrin was defeated in one blow by the combined attack of Rezan, who was enhanced by the power of the world, and the Sun Fist.

When he had Frostmourne in his hand, he could use the power of the artifact to resist to some extent. But the moment the demonic blade left his hand, Tosedrin knew that he was probably not going to survive.

Although he had long since died, perhaps this moment would allow him to find eternal peace.

Rezan's Holy Spirit Device slammed Tosedrin into the energy flow of the Nightwell, causing a violent explosion that sent him flying. He was then bitten into Rezan's Holy Spirit, chewed up, and spat out.

The cold and cool death armor was shattered and torn beyond recognition, and even his body, which had been strengthened by death, was tattered. Fortunately, this was not a fatal injury to the undead. The real danger was the sacred fire of the sun that was burning on his body, an attack from the vigilant who appeared here in the form of faith.

These sacred flames, which could no longer be described as "scorching," enveloped him, surging and burning like igniting dead wood.

Torseidrin slammed to the ground and struggled to his feet, curling himself up in a corner. Knowing that his end was near, he felt no resistance to it, but simply looked up at Queen Azshara, who had been pierced by Frostmourne, not far away.

The demonic blade was boiling, it was cheering, it was anticipating the powerful swordsman's awakening from death.

However, Tosedrin's gaze turned strange at that moment.

The demonic blade did pierce Azshara, but it did not completely penetrate the queen's heart.

It wasn't that he, the swordsman, made a mistake, but rather that someone who shouldn't have been there "blocked" Azshara's path.

The troll death god Bwonsamdi was kneeling beside Azshara's chariot, grinning, his hands gripping the blade of Frostmourne to prevent it from sliding further.

This usually slick guy is really going all out this time.

It used its spirit form to resist the piercing and cutting of the Blade of Domination. The collision of the two death forces even wove a dangerous soul-reaping storm around Azshara, but Bwonsamdi cried out in pain but refused to let go, seemingly certain that his appearance to help at this moment would bring him inexhaustible "blessings".

Under the interference of Bumsandy's "divine hand," the Queen's heart was indeed pierced and damaged, and her life force was rapidly declining, but such a serious injury was not irreversible for a strong individual.

As long as it's not a fatal blow, Azshara always finds a way to revive herself.

"Don't sleep!"

Bumsandy screech, baring his teeth:
"Wake up quickly and take charge!"

A pained expression crossed Azshara's face, and her eyelids twitched, but the queen seemed lost in a dream, and even the excruciating pain of a blade piercing her heart could not quickly awaken her.

This is normal. Frostmourne serves as a "node," opening a temporary passage between the two sides of the veil of life and death. However, it will take time for the Queen's soul to be summoned from the Shadowlands back to the material world.

This isn't a matter of waking up on a whim.

But the others couldn't wait any longer. Although Frostmourne had escaped Thothidrin's grasp, the Lich King was currently "manipulating remotely," with Goblin locked in a struggle with Bwonsamdi, determined to make the sword pierce through completely.

Waiting even a second longer at this point would pose an even greater danger.

Princess Talanji, who was frozen by the deadly wind, was really anxious. She didn't care about etiquette at this moment. With half of her body frozen, she gritted her teeth and smashed the Scepter of All Spirits in her hand.

With a thud, it struck the queen's beautiful and alluring cheek, causing the sleeping Azshara to turn her face to the side in an awkward position.

Good guy!
This is probably the first time Azshara has been "slapped in the face" since her birth, and it's by a troll no less!
Perhaps it was this "humiliation" that caused the Queen to open her eyes the next second.

Her immense and heavy soul returned to her body, which she had been separated from for ten thousand years, and the magic flow of the Nightwell, which had been shut down, started running again with the queen's first breath. Even without Azshara's active manipulation, the resonance from the arcane power naturally made this massive energy flow run, bringing a thunderous surge and echo to the chaotic battlefield.

The moment those amber eyes opened, what came into view was an ugly, snarling troll.

This startled the Queen.

She was about to rebuke Bwonsamdi for his rudeness when she felt pain in her body. Her gaze shifted downwards and she saw Frostmourne piercing her heart and the Lich King remotely controlling her to kill her.

"Be bold!"

Azshara rebuked her.

A storm of energy erupted, and mysterious Firstborn runes swirled around, forming a defensive sequence that enveloped the Queen in a rainbow of light. The repulsive force then pushed Bwonsamdi, Frostmourne, and everyone else around her out of the way.

She placed her hand on her bleeding chest, and the runes around her transformed into healing sequences to stop the bleeding and heal her.

As for the death power that has already rushed into the body, there is no need to worry about it. If an awakened lesser god cannot even deal with this thing, then he would truly be a laughing stock.

Even if Frostmourne was created by the Lord of War, and is a genuine Force artifact with the power to rule over all things, so what?

Just a few minutes ago, Azshara was chatting and laughing with the Lord of War himself, and it was just about the power of domination, wasn't it?

The Queen has a sample of the Chain of Domination in her possession.

Although she couldn't claim to have thoroughly studied it, she was quite familiar with how this power worked.

For arcane mages, understanding means manipulation, and manipulation means mastery. No power that can be deconstructed is worthy of their fear!

She was still somewhat weak, but the weakness that had slumbered for millennia was rapidly fading with her awakening. Especially when the Queen helped herself up from the damaged royal carriage, arcane radiance shone and spread from her body. With the support of techniques derived from her powerful theoretical research and numerous experiments on "psychic energy," she easily extracted the power of domination from her body, transforming it into a black psychic energy sphere held between her fingers.

"Thank you."

The Queen casually tossed it to Bwonsamdi, causing the troll Death, whose hands were nearly crippled, to grin broadly, revealing a set of uneven teeth.

Oh my, Queen Azshara is such a generous lady! Look at how lavish she is! After Bwonsamdi becomes the Grim Reaper of the elves, won't he be soaring to new heights? "Damn it! Damn it!"

Enraged by its near-miss, the Lich King truly wanted to unleash Frostmourne and the awakened Azshara.

But Dog Egg was a cunning creature. It knew it had missed its chance. Now that Azshara had awakened, the battle on the Broken Isles was bound to turn around. It was time to slip away!
Thus, the demonic blade, bound by the energy compression, shattered its shackles and flew with a whoosh towards the top of the palace, hoping to escape and return to Icecrown Glacier before the queen fully recovered.

Azshara will not let it get away with this!
Dog Egg must now be fully prepared for the Queen's impending wrath.

If the demon sword can return, his chances of survival will increase by one point.

Its advance was so swift and decisive that not only Thosedrin, but even the "Spirit of the Blade" of Frostmourne was left without a chance to be recalled.

However, just as the Demon Sword was about to break through the fortress wall and escape from the energy hall, another sword cry rang out. Then the Demon Sword was struck as if by a heavy blow, much like a black eagle flying high in the sky being attacked by a peregrine falcon at high speed, unable to react at all!

In that collision, which was as light as a dragonfly skimming the water, the Lich King roared in despair.

But it had completely lost control of Frostmourne; some force had severed its control over this deadly artifact.

Under Azshara's indifferent gaze, the demonic sword that dared to harm the queen fell from the sky like a bird with broken wings, finally plunging into the ground in front of the Nightwell's core with a thud.

The force that had severed the control of the demonic blade changed its trajectory with an elegant spin. Amidst the burst of blood, it circled the entire Dark Night Well hall, slaying the villains who had tried to harm the mistress. Several seconds later, it returned to the mistress's side with a chilling scent of blood.

Remonia, the Queen's Hand, hovered docilely beside Azshara.

As a weapon connected to the Queen's soul, Azshara could naturally break free from the Shadowlands' constraints after crossing the veil of life and death.

After personally "dealing with" her "ill-fated relationship" with Denathrius, Remonia had no more attachment to the Shadowlands and from then on only wanted to serve the most perfect mistress in the world.

"Your Majesty! Heavens! His Majesty is back! His Majesty has awakened!"

The court ladies, who had previously felt utterly hopeless and despairing after the enemy breached the Nighthold, were now overjoyed. They knelt around Azshara, offering their utmost respect to their most perfect queen.

It seems that with Azshara back, all the problems in the world are no longer problems.

Even though the whole of Suramar is in turmoil right now, as long as the Queen appears, this loyal city will soon be safe and sound.

This is a mindset that cannot be described as "blind faith." It's as if, after seeing Azshara, a part of the consciousness in the minds of these usually cunning maids was forcibly altered.

Many old elves would tell their juniors that Queen Azshara has an irresistible "charm" for all elves; if you are an elf, you cannot ignore the queen and any of her orders.

It sounds exaggerated, but when Liadrin, a young elf who had never experienced the Imperial Age, looked at the Queen with a very complicated gaze, and then immediately lowered her head and looked at Azshara with humility when Azshara's amber eyes turned to her, it was clear that the Queen's innate "elven affinity" was indeed unbeatable.

“My city, Suramar, it weeps. My people are wailing. Those malicious ones want to harm my subjects in my presence, they want to challenge Azshara’s majesty! Unforgivable.”

The Queen closed her eyes, sensing the smoke and fire rising from the Dark Night Fortress and the entire city.

Anger flashed across her beautiful face.

I just destroyed the sacred site left by the Firstborn and saved the entire star system, and this is how you repay your saviors?
good good!
Do you really think the Age of Empires is over just because I'm not angry?

"My court executioner! Go and carry out the punishment in place of your mistress."

Azshara raised a finger and commanded amidst Remonia's howl:

"Slaughter all those who bring sorrow to this city and my people!"

"By your will, bring them destruction."

The demonic sword responded hoarsely, transforming into a crimson lightning bolt that spun out.

During its initial acceleration, it shattered a third of the Frostmourne sword spirit that was fighting against Diakum's power avatar. Then, it accelerated a second time in the arc of light formed by the burst of energy fragments, piercing through the wall of the Nightwell and shooting out. As sunlight poured into this dark place, it also unleashed the Queen's wrath on the lowly bodies of those seeking death.

Azshara doesn't need to send out more warriors or do it herself. Given the current intensity of the battles in Suramar, sending Remonia to carry out the extermination is already overkill.

This demonic sword previously fought against the Eternal One. Although the opponent was indeed a bit weak, he was still a true god.

Then a blood-red "lightning storm" erupted in the chaotic city.

Remonia's speed increased until she finally transformed into a "scarlet streak." Wherever she went, the rampaging undead fell in droves. As a sacred relic of death, she didn't even need to shatter the undead's bodies; she only needed to sever their connection with the power of death.

The more powerful death lords were pierced through the heart by the demonic sword, completely unable to stop it, and that single slash took away all their power.

As for the demon
Needless to say, demons are another story.

Even if Remonia didn't have the "Ashbringer" special attack against demons, she could still cruelly throw the ugly souls of these demons into the Maw.

They can indeed return to the Twisting Nether, but with Remonia's interference, the disruption of this soul return is merely a simple "academic issue."

Death
Death always has the power to receive all the dead.

Azshara did not appear immediately. She was still in a temporary state of "resurrection weakness," sitting on her broken chariot, surrounded by her loyal maids, trying to recover to her perfect state as quickly as possible.

She is a lesser god in the realm of arcane magic, and every breath she takes creates a resounding "tide of magic" throughout Suramar.

With a casual wave of Azshara's hand, the Nightwell barrier, which Elisande had closed, was reshaped according to the queen's will, preventing more demons and undead from entering the city, while trapping the thieves already inside in a hopeless situation.

She clearly had no intention of letting anyone who dared to challenge her authority get away with it.

General Varosson, who was fighting the undead in the market district, was so excited that he trembled all over. Even though he had not witnessed the queen's resurrection, he was certain that his queen had returned.

Ten thousand years later, Azshara returned once again to her loyal elven kingdom.

The other Imperial Guards didn't have such a clear perception as he did, but they couldn't suppress the inexplicable elation in their hearts. Even the Nightborne's civilians, whose morale had been wavering, quickly recovered and surged at this moment.

With Remonia holding the line, the elves surprisingly launched a counterattack against the undead.

As for those Naga...
They ran away long ago!

The elves loved Azshara as much as they feared her.

A moment later, under the sunlight shining in the hall of the Darkwell, Vashj dragged the archmage Elisande, who had been beaten half to death, back to the place.

But the loyal spymaster was struck dumb when she saw the figure she had longed for day and night. Terrified, she abandoned Elisande and turned to flee. This was because her current "monster" form prevented her from properly meeting her queen.

"Vashj, my most beloved maid, come here!"

Azshara's gentle voice sounded behind her, causing Vashj to immediately stop her escape. She hesitated for a moment, then lowered her head and dragged the desperately screaming Elisande closer to her queen.

Her tears fell, sliding down her cold scales, and finally sprinkling onto the ancient palace bricks.

That is the silent testament of the loyalists for ten thousand years.

She has come back.

The light of light conquered death!
She returned to her loyal world with the glory of the Daughter of the World. Oh, praise be to the Queen!
