Chapter 367, Section 57: The Pajama Hiking Contest Champion is decided! The prize is BOOM!

The battle in the World Tree Highlands is drawing to a close.

Although Ursoc and Ursol inexplicably appeared to hold the line after the Vigilant was "killed," their combat power was still somewhat inferior to that of Cenarius the Defiler.

Most importantly, the simple and honest bears, Xiong Da and Xiong Er, haven't learned any cheat-like skills. In addition, their fight with Agamaggan has indeed exhausted a lot of their energy, making it somewhat unrealistic to expect them to hold back the mighty Demon Lord.

The Force of Life is not a force that excels at destruction. In other words, the Force of Life in Azeroth has not reached the wild and brutal "madness" level of Draenor.

This results in the Wild Gods being mostly good at defense but lacking in offense. Moreover, the problem with the Wild Gods is that they retain the habits of wild beasts, and there is not much they can do in the face of the Corruptors' various forbidden releases of fel energy.

Cenarius tore through Ursoc's fur, severely wounding him, and then used the power of fel energy to banish the annoying Starseeker to the Twisting Nether. Without the restraining Holy Light to suppress him, the most troublesome fellows were dealt with one by one.

This brought the polluters closer to Nordrassil, but the remaining steps were not so easy.

One by one, the surviving demigods of the wilderness jumped out. Goldrinn, Avina, Ounhara, and even the Nian beast, who was mostly unable to distinguish between good and evil, all came to join in the fun, forcing even the lunatic Kangzu to fly out from the branches of the dream.

The large owl with its alluring eyeliner cursed the corruptor in a very elegant chant while flapping its wings to summon scorching arcane moonfire to strike relentlessly.

These demigods were all Cenarius's companions; more than ten thousand years ago, the King of the Forest maintained a very good relationship with them.

Every time a Druid lecture was held, the Wild God would come to listen in, and even that silly bird Kangzu's habit of speaking in a very literary style was learned from Cenarius.

But it is precisely because of this that the polluters are familiar with every move of these gods of the wilderness.

It knows their weaknesses inside and out.

"O beasts of fel energy, devour my enemies!"

The Great Demon Lord dragged his slightly unsteady, battered body forward. The suppression from other forces had brought the fel energy to its limit, approaching the strength of a lesser god, which transformed him into an even more brutal state. Without chanting, he tore open a fel energy rift, allowing Sargeras's scorched hounds to break into the area.

This is a "beast companion" specially prepared by the polluters for this battle.

These Scorched Hounds were fel creatures that the great demons found in the corners of the Twisting Nether to curry favor with the Dark Titans, but only the most powerful twin hounds, Farg and Shatug, were qualified to serve Sargeras. The rest of the Scorched Hounds were disliked because they were too ferocious and untamed.

But Cenarius liked them!
It considers this to be the most perfect beast where fel energy and life are fused.

Most importantly, as a former god of the wilderness, the Defiler was well-equipped to tame these ferocious and unruly hounds, unlike the other two great demon lords who also had their own guards.

It doesn't need guards; the most ferocious monsters born in these fel-based realms are its prey.

Although their individual combat strength is not as good as the God of the Wilds, they have the advantage of being numerous and wild enough.

At the command of the Corruptor, the army of scorched hounds surged out of the vortex of fel energy. Goldrinn, being the most ferocious, was given three of them. The heavily injured bears, Big Bear and Little Bear, still wanted to pounce, so each bear took one of them. The Nian beast had two heads and could control different elements to bite, so it was given two of them.

The weakened Avina above was far from fully recovered, and the storm of feathers fired by this weak bird queen could not even cause the polluter any more trouble.

She can be ignored.

But the ferocious Ohnhara and the Kangzu, which was bombarding it like a machine gun of moonfire, were troublesome. So the Corruptor poured the plague on the scorched hounds beside him, causing them to grow wings of either shadow or flame under the stimulation of fel energy. He commanded them to take to the air and chase after Ohnhara and Kangzu.

Ha, now the whole world is quiet amidst the howling of the scorching hounds.

As for those mortal demigods?

They had long been frightened away by his supreme demonic power!
The three mortals who wielded the power of the world were also exhausted and unable to continue, which Cenarius scoffed at.

Ordinary people are limited in their capacity; even if they are given great power, that's all they can achieve.

The world cannot expect to give children a sword and have them defend the planet.

Most importantly, Cenarius knew very well that since the War of the Ancients, the Great Scramble of Azeroth had caused the world's strength to decline. Even though the hasty alliance brought together the World Soul and the Vigilant had gathered most of the powerful beings, how could it compare to the intensity of the War of the Ancients?
Having been a member of the resistance, I understand their thoughts and actions very well.

Meaningless.

The Supreme Star Soul has been weakened for ten thousand years, and it can no longer manifest itself to save the world as it did ten thousand years ago!

Cenarius, wielding overwhelming demonic energy, let out a low laugh. He could feel the will of the Twisted Nether churning, as if it were approaching the core that could determine the fate of this world. The fel energy was also expressing its desire for the Star Soul.

Sargeras is good; the Dark Titan is a perfect Force wielder.

However, Sargeras remained too calm!

He abandoned arcane magic for fel magic to fulfill his desire to cleanse the starry sea and protect the physical universe. His dedication and sense of righteousness were so unwavering that even though fel magic gave Sargeras everything, the Dark Titan was still unwilling to fully unleash the destruction he controlled.

Fel energy craves destruction, but Sargeras intends to use this power to shape order.

This clashes with the fundamental nature of the Force.

Cenarius could clearly hear the will of the Twisting Nether whispering to him: the fel energy yearned to possess the Supreme Star Soul, to make Azeroth a fel master more powerful than the Dark Titans, and to thus fully unleash the fel energy's devastation upon all things in the universe and other Force realms.

Just like the destructive nature of a demon, all things and stars tremble under the burning of evil fire!
"Of course, of course!"

The Corruptor's left eye was blinded by Illidan, but its right eye burst forth with a scorching light. In the fel energy that made all beings tremble, Cenarius strode toward the World Tree.

It will fulfill the destructive inspiration given to it by evil energy and personally forge this world with its own magic.

"Don't think about it!"

A deep, furious roar came from the flank, and Cenarius turned around to see the Devilsaur Loalezan crashing towards him with an earth-shaking force.

This guy wasn't bluffing this time.

The Azerite crystal hanging around its neck had been crushed, allowing the azure world power to strengthen its body, as if it were covered by a layer of burning light. It slammed its headbutt into Cenarius's body, causing the Corruptor to stumble and move it a few steps further away from the World Tree.

"You guys."

The polluter's rebukes were almost squeezed out from between his teeth.

It was clearly only one step away from its target!

These guys are clearly no match for it. Trolls and elves were mortal enemies when it was still the god of the wilderness. Why would these guys fight it so recklessly?

Why not just stay there and wait for destruction? Why not just starve to death?!

"Go away!"

Enraged, Cenarius gripped Rezan's body, which was burning with the power of the world, with both hands. The dark green lightning sparked by the fel rage bombarded him relentlessly, and the gale brought by the plague whipped him around, making the Corruptor look like a demon god at this moment.

The Fel Force was urging them on, and the mental corruption brought about by the infusion of that Force made the Corruptor unwilling to wait any longer.

With a powerful thud, the massive Rezan was pinned to the ground by Cenarius, but the Devilsaur was not afraid at all. It opened its huge teeth and bit down hard on Cenarius's left hand, tearing off the Defiler's left claw as its sharp teeth snapped shut.

The agony caused the Corruptor to roar to the sky, grabbing the enormous antlers left behind by its father after his death and smashing them down on Rezan.

Once, twice, three times.
Amidst Princess Talanji's screams, the royal Loa was brutally crushed to death, its neck snapped. Cenarius grabbed the grotesque head and slammed it down on the troll Loas still charging towards him.

Most of the Loa were terrified by the brutal scene, but the troll Death God was completely unafraid.

The cunning Bumsandi had long seen through Reza's "little trick".

Yes, Rezan overestimated himself and challenged the Corruptors and got killed, but so what?
It's Loa!
For Loa, the body was not necessary.

Rezan may look burly, but he's incredibly cunning. This bastard is thinking of making a big splash in front of Mother World this time, so that Mother World will reward him with the coveted title of "World Holy Spirit" after the war.

But how can we let Lezan steal the spotlight?

Bumsandhi chuckled and spread his arms wide in the air, turning the moonlight over Mount Hyjal into a crimson blood moon.

At the call of Death, the spirits of those who died here were summoned, and even the headless corpse of Rezan rose again under Bwonsamdi's infusion, clinging tightly to the corrupted with its claws, before exploding into a corpse with a dashing snap of Death's fingers.

The force of the royal Loa, its flesh and blood, was completely torn apart by the impact of the Death Force, tearing through the armor on the Corruptor's body. Rezan's dragon teeth pierced into its flesh, making it even more wretched than before.

But after Bumsandy pulled off that stunt to show off, he promptly slipped away amidst Rezan's curses.

It is enough.

The cunning old Bwonsamdi had sensed that the life force being drained from the World Tree was about to reach its limit, which meant that the druids' plan was nearing completion.

Cenarius was consumed by rage. It pulled out the spine of Rezan's mutilated corpse and used it as a whip to lash out at everything that stood in its way. It lunged at the World Tree, believing that after this horrific death, no one would dare to stop it.

But as it turns out, Azeroth has never lacked courageous lives.

A silver-green beam of light roared down from the sky, which had been corrupted by fel energy, and collided head-on with Cenarius, who was reaching for the World Tree.

The violent sounds mingled with the eruption of dream power, and the gentle green power, as it dissipated, transformed into beautiful butterflies that swirled and scattered around this deadly battlefield.

Amidst the fluttering of emerald butterflies, a colossal dragon, its entire body seemingly cast in silver, stood on all fours, blocking the path of the World Tree. Emerald dreamlike power swirled around the edges of each of its scales, the silver and green accents resembling a green-clad female knight in silver armor. Its unique, trident-like tail shattered the head of a scorched hound killed by Goldrinn, and then, with its majestic, feathered head raised, unleashed a deafening roar. Its exaggeratedly beautiful wings rose from the emerald feathers, then suddenly opened like a heavy shield, blocking the path of the corrupted.

"younger sister?!"

Severely injured and lying on the edge of the battlefield, the Red Dragon Queen looked up at the mysterious dragon that stood in front of the corruptor as if saving the world.

She knew it was Isera!

The dreamlike power that wrapped around the dragon, resembling a green cloak, could only be controlled by Ysera.

But why has she transformed into such a majestic form? Wasn't she previously reduced to a progenitor dragon? Could it be that the Star Soul Lord personally granted Ysera the power to reshape life?
Alexstrasza's eyes were filled with tears as she gazed at the magnificent silver-green dragon amidst the fluttering butterflies of light.

She knew that although Ysera was a support among the Dragon Kings, she also had a heart set on going to the front lines. In the past, she often complained that Ysera's melee combat skills were not strong enough. Now, she finally fulfilled her wish to become a warrior.

"Ha! The Supreme Star Soul has dispatched its most powerful guard? It knows it can't escape today's calamity!"

The Corruptor stared at the severed arm, from which emerald-green, crystal-like claws extended from the fel crystal. It charged toward the World Guardian before it, for once it had defeated the World Guardian, no one would be able to stop it from corrupting the World Tree.

The new form of Queen Ysera is absolutely fearless!

The reason I chose this form from the freedom of evolution given to me by my Star Soul Mother is not just for beauty and majesty.

This is one of the most skilled fighting dragons!

The claws, gleaming silver and wreathed in green emerald light, shot out and pounced, engaging the corrupted in a fierce battle. The outpouring of fel energy and world power completely leveled all the buildings in the area.

In the ruins of the Temple of the Moon, the projection of the Black Moon Crown had appeared on Tyrande Nightsworn's forehead, but she was being held down by several Priests of the Moon to prevent her from engaging in combat.

But they couldn't stop the enraged Moonlit War Goddess at all, and could only be dragged forward by her.

"Mother! You must be patient!"

General Shandis Feathermoon, utterly devoid of any dignity befitting a powerful figure, clung to her mother's left leg as she was dragged along the ground, still shouting:

"Father has a plan, please don't go up there and self-destruct! You have grandchildren, please restrain your anger!"

In the completely collapsed World Tree Temple, an exhausted Malfurion Stormrage looked back at the statues that were now full of life, and then looked regretfully at the shattered Agamaggan statue.

He knew that the great Agamaggan had left them forever.

"Take those idols and go to the Dream! Lady Ysera has opened the path to the Dream for us. She is more powerful than ever before, and her dragons await you there."

quick! "

Malfurion shouted to the archdruids around him:
"Go to the sacred dreamland of the gods of the wilderness and return their life force to them! I'll stay here to deliver the final blow!"

He held a unique and ancient horn in his hand.

This is a true artifact of life, possessing multiple functions. When necessary, it can even summon all the wisps of Kalimdor, using the power bestowed upon it by Lady Eisena to command them to detonate themselves and kill enemies.

But now there is no need to create such a terrible sacrifice; the spell of life has been etched into the World Tree, awaiting only the arrival of the final moment.

"Should I stay?"

Old Deer Helmet looked at his shaky mentor.

He knew that Malfurion had exhausted himself in the ritual just now, and he was really worried that his mentor would suffer misfortune at the next important moment, but Malfurion pushed him into the dream gate.

"Go and save Marorne!"

Malfurion held his disciple's hand, and at that moment he said in a hoarse voice:

"This is my last selfish request, Staghelm. Only with Malorne can Tyrande live a safer life. Save it! Please."

“You don’t need to feel guilty, mentor.”

Old Sterak, holding the icon of Malorne, said with emotion:
"There is no one in this world as selfless as you."

“But I will be a sinner if I have to destroy the immortality of my people with my own hands.”

Malfurion sighed and said:

“After this day, I will step down as leader. I am no longer qualified to lead our people. Someone must take responsibility for the end of eternal life. Go, Deerhelm.”

He pushed the stag helmet into the dream, then turned and blew the first horn.

This is a reminder.

Everyone near the World Tree should evacuate immediately, as the World Tree's energy self-destruction will not distinguish between friend and foe.

As the horn echoed, Ysera, who was fighting the Corruptor, swung her tail and smashed Cenarius away.

She deliberately let out a painful cry, retreating quickly as if she had been beaten into submission. Then, amidst the corruptor's maniacal laughter, she spread her wings and disappeared into the canopy of the World Tree, circling once before swooping down again.

She grabbed the powerless Red Dragon Queen and then struggled to fly again.

Further away, Aegwynn, wielding Sargeras' Scepter, unleashed a massive spatial teleportation, roaring:
"Go and repent among the stars, you demon!"

"You're using a demon's artifact against the Great Demon Lord? Ridiculous!"

The Corruptor swung its crystallized fist, tearing apart the spatial teleportation applied to itself, but everyone else was sent off the high ground by Aegwynn's Great Teleportation.

Cenarius snorted.

It finally won.

With the obstacles finally gone, it was time to enjoy the fruits of victory.

So it grabbed the Plague Jar from its waist and poured it onto the World Tree. The Plague caused Nordrassil to sway painfully, and the massive canopy was soon covered in fallen leaves. The fel energy took root, which greatly reassured the corrupted creature.

It knew that no one could stop it from seizing this energy!

It strode forward and grabbed the massive branches of the World Tree with both hands, but as soon as it took a sip, it realized something was wrong!

How could the energy within the World Tree be so weak?

It's less than half of its peak value!

Then it saw Malfurion Stormrage, teetering on the brink of collapse amidst the ruins of the Temple of the Moon, looking at it.

That was its former disciple, its most favored child, and one of the saviors who saved the world ten thousand years ago. He is different from Cenarius's memory, but it doesn't matter. The Great Demon Lord will turn Malfurion into the most ferocious demon as well.

Just like it is now!
Malfurion stood amidst the apocalyptic shattered light.

He looked at his mentor, whom he had once regarded as a father, with a pained, sorrowful, and helpless gaze. The king of the forest in his memory was willing to sacrifice himself for the innocent, but the monster before him, which only craved destruction and power, was not it.

Cenarius is dead.

It died ten thousand years ago when it chose to embrace fel energy to protect the elves of Zin-Azsari.

“Mentor, please forgive my intrusion.”

Malfurion said this.

The ancient horn sounded a second time amidst the withering, decaying leaves of the plague, and then, as the polluter stared wide-eyed, a light shone before its eyes.

Like the first ray of light in the darkness, it quickly engulfed everything.

It's not just anger and energy.

That was the fatal blow the Kaldorei delivered to the demon invaders at the cost of sacrificing their race's immortality.

From this point on, the Kaldorei will be relentlessly captured by time, returning to the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death. They will be forced to restart their civilization, stumbling onto a world stage that is now entirely different.

That will be a period destined to be difficult.

But the elves did not hesitate, just as they did when facing the demons ten thousand years ago.

The world's favor ultimately did not create a bunch of spineless cowards. So, polluters, savor the World Tree's great self-destruction.
