Light's Dawn of Azeroth

Chapter 365, Part 55: A Tug-of-War Between Light and Darkness, A Sit-Up Between Life and Death

Chapter 365, Section 55: Pulled back and forth between light and darkness, doing sit-ups between life and death.

Under Garrod's command, the anti-magic alliance dispersed to the outer battlefield of the World Tree Highlands. This was to prevent the warriors from being corrupted by Cenarius's demonic plague, and also to create an undisturbed battlefield for the final battle.

While the Corruptors' faction power within the Burning Legion is not as great as that of the Conquerors and the Shaper, it is still a powerful demon lord.

Ten thousand years of accumulated power have made legendary demon commanders in the Wither army as numerous as the sands of the Milky Way. Although powerful great demons like Agamaggan are few, Cenarius takes great care of his "own people," so there are quite a few demigods among the Highborne who followed him to embrace fel energy ten thousand years ago.

These guys are mostly demigods who were forcibly elevated to godhood by being infused with fel energy.

As the most generous Force, the violent infusion of Fel energy can allow individuals to quickly gain power. Of course, without refinement and study, these demonic demigods are truly "fake demigods," but how can you put it? Fake demigods are still demigods!

With their power levels so high, if these guys were to follow Cenarius into the World Tree Highlands, everything would be over.

Garrod Shadowsong's conducting strategy is very clear!

He wanted to separate the demon followers from Cenarius to prevent the Great Demon Lord from using strange "power-draining" techniques to regain his strength when he was at a disadvantage.

This is the strategy that veteran players are most adept at when running dungeons. Who pulls the boss and the mobs together when tackling a raid?
Isn't that just asking for a total wipeout?
This guy truly lives up to his reputation as the commander of the anti-demon alliance from ten thousand years ago. His battlefield micro-management skills are superb. In a very short time, the originally concentrated and shared positions were dispersed to seven locations near the high ground, luring and pulling apart the demon army that was following the corruptors in their "one-wave charge" tactics.

To prevent the demonic minions from interfering with the main battlefield, Garrod issued a cruel order to his massive swarm of boarmen and bearmen. The clash between the two armies turned the highlands into a bloodbath. At this critical moment, the Black Raven King and his elite legions, who had been waiting for orders, finally joined the battle.

Their target is the Wither Druids, the most formidable force under the Corruptors.

His Majesty Kutalos Ravencrest rode an armored black war tiger, wielding a dragon-forged greatsword as he traversed the terrain. His army, composed entirely of millennia-old veterans, possessed astonishing morale, pressing down on the Withered Druids to the point that they could not even approach the high ground.

But soon, something unexpected happened.

"The dream has opened a crack, but it's not one of ours!"

Old Staghelm, who had been charging alongside the Black Raven King, was now filled with rage. Having witnessed the death of his Lord Malorne, he hated demons to the core and transformed into an armored white stag, madly trampling his fellow demons who embraced fel energy.

However, Old Staghelm was indeed a formidable Archdruid, and he quickly sensed the changes in the surrounding battlefield, so he reminded Black Raven King:
"It could be a satyr demon, those scoundrels who wreak havoc in dreams, who were already in league with the Burning Legion! Send out the Watchers, Your Majesty, and have them prepare to capture and kill the satyr lords."

"Ah."

Kutalos, who had killed the enemy with a single blow, nodded.

The mighty Elf King waved his hand, and a short horn sounded. Several large squads of watchmen quickly arrived and, following the Black Raven King's orders, lay in ambush near the dream rift that was about to open.

Soon, the crack opened.

As expected, it was a satyr demon. The emerald dream rift tore open, and a large group of satyr demons jumped into the battlefield. The Wither Druid thought that reinforcements had arrived and their morale was greatly boosted. The Watchers also prepared to capture and kill the satyr leader.

But before she could act, Elizabeth suddenly sensed something was wrong.

"These satyrs didn't come to fight! They're fleeing; something fierce is chasing them!"

The discovery by the Watcher Commander left the Black Moon Sisters looking at each other in bewilderment.

What?
Is there something that can hunt Sartre in dreams?

These guys have been hiding in the dream rifts ever since they fell from grace. Now that the Emerald Legion is gone, the Satir are the tyrants of the dream world! Only they can bully others in the dream. Who else can bully these wicked villains?

But soon, the Black Moon sisters realized that the commander's judgment was accurate.

A blood-soaked satyr lord screamed as it charged out of the crevice. The massive goat-hoofed demon had at least three axes embedded in its body. As soon as it screamed and charged out, a burning crimson battle axe whistled through the air and split it up in the center of the battlefield.

"boom"

The spinning Blood Howl slashed into the battlefield before the Black Crow King, and then a crimson figure leaped out of the dream.

Upon landing, he drew his Bloodhowl and unleashed a Whirlwind Slash, slicing the Wither Druids who had come close to kill him into a flurry of ashes. Sulfuras's fire burned on the battleaxe, its scorching heat swirling around the axe-wielder and creating a hot wind that caused the corpses of the dead to fall sadly to the ground.

Grom Hellscream, who had instantly killed the Satyr Lord and a legendary Wither Druid, carried Gorehowl on his shoulder as if nothing had happened.

From the dream rift that opened behind him, the heroes of the War Horde, led by Orgrim Doomhammer, roared and charged out, with each chieftain leading his warriors in a frenzy of battle.

These green-skinned lunatics don't care who's blocking their way; they'll kill anyone who smells of fel energy!

There are also gnolls.

Hogg, riding a ferocious black dire wolf and clutching a flail, charged out. The wetland jackals he brought with him were also afflicted with bloodlust by the green-skinned shaman. Their eyes were bloodshot as they attacked the demon druids from behind, who were caught in a pincer movement. Hogg followed the green-skinned druids, hacking and slashing around, occasionally even giving the demons a taste of their own medicine.

Black Crow King stared dumbfounded at the group of green-skinned burly men who had "refreshed" in front of him. He was shocked by their high morale and exaggerated combat power. Where did these "Martian soldiers" come from?

But then Kutalos noticed the black wolf tattoos on these greenskins and immediately understood.

So they are the followers of the legendary Black Wolf God. They are indeed as brave and fearless as Goldrinn's wolf pack.

"Excuse me, could you move aside?"

Grom strode forward through the chaos, carrying Gorehowl, and addressed the Black Raven King and his wary guards:

"I need to go ahead, you're blocking my way."

"You and your warriors are going to attack the Corruptors?"

King Black Crow shook his head and said:

“You’re no good! Cenarius has unleashed the terrible plague. Your life rank is not enough to withstand its corruption. Getting close will turn you into a demon! This is suicide. You can stay here and fight the enemy as well.”

"demon?"

Old Hou curled his lip and pointed to his skin, saying:

“We are already half-demons, so the plague can’t harm us. Get out of the way. I’m here for this, and I can’t go to hell in peace without a fight to the death.”

Kutalos hesitated for a moment, watching as the orc chieftains gathered with their elite troops. After Orgrim stepped forward to explain, the Black Raven King nodded and raised his hand, ordering his Black Raven Legion to make way for these "greenskinned martyrs."

He had lived for over ten thousand years and had seen all sorts of people. He could tell from the eyes of these green-skinned creatures that they had no intention of coming back alive.

Just for that courage and will, he deserves to make an exception for him.

"You'd better make more preparations."

The Black Crow King reminded him:

"Cenarius is nearing the pinnacle of the power of these stars. Even if your weapons are fierce enough, they will be difficult to use against an evil god. Willpower is an important weapon, but it is not omnipotent."

"Thank you for reminding us, we are already prepared."

Orgrim said this without turning his head, and the chieftains, each wielding a sharp blade, followed after him.

The Black Crow King noticed that the battle sword in the hand of a female orc was damaged. Such a weapon could not possibly harm the Great Demon Lord, so he threw the Dragonforged Holy Sword in his hand to her.

Azuka Blade looked at the ornate sword stuck at his feet with a puzzled expression, then looked at the Black Crow King.

The latter had already taken a similarly imposing dragon-forged halberd from the guard, and waved his hand, saying:

"I don't need that sword, but what you've done is a sacrifice I couldn't make, so consider it a gift from me. Use it to accomplish something great, and don't tarnish the name of Quel'Serrar."

Of course, it's just a loan; you'll have to return it later. Hopefully, by then it will be entangled in even more legends.

"Thanks."

The last descendant of the Blade Fury family did not refuse; she drew her elven sword and caught up with the other chieftains.

Just as she was about to step into the battlefield, Azuka sensed the wind around her. When she turned around, she saw Samuro and Lantresso appearing on either side of her.

"Long time no see, Azuka."

Samuro said:

Are you still planning to go back to Ouahal?

"I'm not interested anymore."

Lady Bladefury waved her hand and said:

"All I want now is to kill this demon who has brought us such shame." "Your father died at our hands."

Lantresor provocatively said:
"Aren't you going to take revenge?"

"If I survive, I will hone my martial arts skills in the sea of stars."

Azuka Blade's words, as if giving his last will and testament, addressed the two:

“One day, I will rightfully reclaim the glory that my father lost. You two had better not relax too much. The sacred relic of the Fireblade can only be held by one person. I have established my ‘Blade Fury’ clan. You understand what that means.”

"The orthodox fire blade, the free righteous blade, and the exiled blade fury."

Lantresso flicked his sword, letting the blood fall to the ground, and said:
"Then let's see in the future who is the true successor to the way of the Sword Saint."

The other two had no objection to this.

As Azuka stepped into the Plaguelands, Samuro and Lantresor each drank the Holy Light Legion's protective potion and followed her inside.

Their strength might not be enough to inflict fatal damage on the Corruptor, but the Sword Saint never feared any battle. And as the storm covering the plague dissipated before their eyes, what came into view was a magnificent and terrifying battle.

The Corruptor fought against the warriors of Azeroth single-handedly. The giant of light who was leading the charge had already dimmed considerably, but the Corruptor was also covered in wounds.

Its majestic antlers were shattered by arcane magic, its left eye was blinded by the wound inflicted by the Starhunter, and its heavy hooves were broken by the leg bone smashed by the Nightsworn's avatar.

The world's bravest and strongest warriors were slaying Cenarius like a hunting party. The great demon lord, one of only three in the Burning Legion, was indeed formidable. He withstood the relentless bombardment and had already reached the World Tree Highlands, now just a short distance from Nordrassil.

The Red Dragon Queen Alexstrasza lay forlornly on the edge of the battlefield.

The poor queen was impaled with a broken Corrupted Spear from the Corruptor. Although not a fatal wound, it prevented the Dragon King from taking flight. Meanwhile, high in the sky, the magical Dragon King Malygos and his powerful Frostbinder consort continued to unleash various powerful spells in a fierce battle against the Great Demon Lord.

The retinues of all the major forces are here, and the great chaos of this gathering is no longer holding back.

The ripples from the collision and vibration of those Force powers had blown away most of the World Tree Temple, but the Archdruids inside were still casting spells. They could be killed by the unknown AOE at any moment, but they could not give up.

Every branch and leaf of the World Tree Nordrassil is entwined with the light of life, transforming into the most magnificent green light bulb in the world.

Every second, a powerful life force is infused into the statue of the god of the wilderness, shaping the eternal spirits into vibrant bodies.

"bang"

Diakum, who was on the front line, focused his light into a blade and unleashed a dazzling, slaying sword technique.

The eruption of holy flames no longer transformed into a spreading solar storm but was compressed and converged into a blinding, fiery blade that slashed fiercely into Cenarius's body during the battle with the giants of light. The charged burst of the Perfect Holy Slash tore through flesh and blood.

The afflicted creature roared in pain, raising its hands to unleash the withered thorns, saturated with the demonic plague, which spun and twisted rapidly like two daggers piercing the giant of light's chest.

Fragments of shattered light erupted in the form of healing feathers, sweeping across the battlefield and bestowing the last healing power of the Vigilant upon everyone on the battlefield.

He withdrew from the state of Radiant Holy Spirit, and the shattered Giant of Light used his last strength to transform into holy fire that enveloped Cenarius, dispelling the plague. However, the fallen Diakum was already very weak.

The corrupter, who loathed him, stomped on the earth and created black, thorny vines. With a murderous roar, he commanded these plague vines to transform into swarms of snakes and pierce Diakum through the air in a fierce surge of fel energy.

In an instant, more than a dozen filthy tentacles pierced the giant's body, sending him flying out of the battlefield and crashing into the mud in a pitiful state.

Diakum is dead!

His life's flame was extinguished.

Cenarius, having finally dealt with the most troublesome obstacle, was greatly encouraged. Of course, he knew of the reputation of the "Butcher of the Holy Light," and today he saw that it was indeed true. Diakum, a low-level demigod, was able to fight on equal terms with him, a great demon lord who was close to becoming a lesser god, in a short period of time, thanks to the blessing of the Holy Light.

If he gets allowed to grow any stronger, the Burning Legion will be doomed!

Fortunately, I've already taken care of this guy.

It used withered vines to forge a plague halberd in its hand and swept it outwards, then hurled the withered vines to knock down Sindragosa the Frostbinder.

Upon seeing his beloved wife injured, Malygos was filled with rage. This dragon king, who was not good at melee combat, charged down with various dragon magic spells, bravely taking over the position of holding the line from Diakum, and fighting Cenarius's advance with his dragon claws.

At the edge of the plague battlefield, a raven flapped its wings and landed, transforming into Aegwynn's raven-feathered prophet form.

She knelt on the ground, looking at the gruesome corpse of Diakum, whose light had been extinguished once again. But as before, a thick darkness was surging from around the Vigilant, merging into his body and pulling him into the eternal darkness.

"It's like walking in a dark wilderness, where you have to gather those scattered points of light to rekindle the fire in your heart. I thought you were joking last time, but I didn't expect you to actually be planning this."

Aegwynn pulled out Sargeras's scepter and planted it in the ground, muttering angrily:

"You can sit up between life and death, and be pulled back and forth between light and darkness. You can return from darkness to light, but your enemy cannot!"

What a shameless tactic, Vigilant.

How come you, the Warrior of Light with your thick eyebrows and big eyes, play so dirty?

But considering you're on our side, all I can say is, "Well done!"

"buzz"

The pre-planned "space displacement" has taken effect.

Under the personal supervision of Aegwynn, who was holding the Scepter of Sargeras, the area where the awakened Devourers of Worlds were located was quickly swapped with an area on the outskirts of Mount Hyjal.

As the chilling void creation vanished, a bewildered Ursol and Ursoc appeared out of nowhere in this land of plague.

The two bears were still engrossed in their fierce wrestling match with Agamagan and had no idea what had just happened, but Aegwynn wasn't going to tolerate them!

"Look there! Silly bear."

She pointed to Cenarius the Defiler, who was pinning the weak and playful Malygos to the ground and tearing off his wings, and shouted to the two bears:
"You are the 'frontline fighters' designated by the Vigilant. Now that he is dead, he needs to undergo a twin rebirth of light and shadow. So, before he returns to the battlefield with the emblem of gold, it is your mission to stop the Corruptor."

Why are you still standing there?

Charge in and draw their attention!

Wasn't the life force shaping you into having thick skin and tough flesh just for this moment?

"If you don't act soon, those fallen gods of the wilderness will never be able to rise again."

As she spoke, Aegwynn took out the Weak Aluneth Staff, which was shouting, "Holy crap, it's a Corruptor! It's so powerful, should we run away quickly?" and waved it to cast some arcane enhancements on the wounded Xiong Da and Xiong Er.

Since the Heart of Azeroth is not currently in her hands, Aegwynn can only appear as a supporter.

She leaped up and stood on the bear's head, brandishing the trembling Elune's staff, and shouted:
"Charge! Charge over and bring back the polluter's head! Mother World is watching you two."

Meanwhile, outside the Shadow Chaser positions on the outskirts of Mount Hyjal, amidst the piercing screams of the Rondorei shouting "A miracle has occurred," much like the frantic screams of a fan giving a slap to a Giegie, the Devourer of All Realms descended from the sky.

Enveloped in the majesty of the void, he wielded the Twilight Hammer and stood in the way of Agamaggan's furious charge.

This time, the Twin Lights were much better than before, no longer as clueless as the first time. They skillfully wielded the power of the Gluttonous One, just like a seasoned driver. The Void Eye on Diakum's shoulder shot out eye beams that pierced through the boar's blood-soaked, thick hide, and then ignited the magical thorns on its body during the Twilight Burst.

But this could not stop Agamaggan's charge, so the Devourer of Worlds transformed into a dark wind and slammed the Twilight Hammer into the boar's head.

This attack caused several pieces of blood-red crystal to shatter from the Twilight Hammer, which was not yet fully awakened. The quick-thinking Shadowwalker warlocks pounced on them like hungry tigers, picked them up, and stuffed them into their pockets.

This is a rare sacred object!
Whoever finds it keeps it!
“Log'loth w'oq Ongg! (Children, come forward and devour!)”

The call of the Devourer of All Realms caused the Shadow Chaser swarm to instantly descend into an irresistible frenzy. All the insects, including the Warrior Insects and the Assassin Insects, roared and pounced on the giant boar that was being held back by the powerful Lightforger.

The Devourers of All Realms will consume Agamaggan's incredibly rich life force to rekindle the light, and the powerful flesh and genes of the Great Demon are the generous reward bestowed upon the Swarm by the Lightforgers.

Then devour it!
Let the hungry lord share a feast with his equally thirsty retinue!

Qam oou iilth ez i awtgsshu amun on'ma! (Let the feast of a thousand throats begin!)
