Chapter 353, Section 43. Shadow Chasers, proudly break through the shadows! - Bonus chapter for "Huo Zheng Ting Hao" [55]
The Dean of the Mystic Academy was indeed capable, solving a problem that had plagued the Highborne elves for ten thousand years with a single move.
This also signaled the final result of the academy competition. The Mystic Academy could be considered to have won a great victory, after all, the Nassaras Magic Academy had sent out all its elites, while the Mystic Academy still had Diakum, the physical education teacher, who had not yet "participated".
However, the Nassaras Magic Academy doesn't have physical education classes at all!
Therefore, Diakum, the "ace physical education teacher" of the Mystic Academy, won a move without breaking a sweat. The result of one draw and two wins declared that the "elven dignity" that Dean Blue Moon had been trying his best to maintain had finally been shattered.
We've lost everything.
"We lost."
The two magic princes are actually alright.
They are not simply spellcasters and researchers; they have the attributes of politicians, so they are not incapable of accepting defeat. However, Dean Blue Moon was greatly affected, not only because she was defeated in terms of academic level, but also because Sachiel's strange "lich summoning" had greatly disturbed her otherwise stable mind.
"She is being summoned by the Shadowlands! The call from Maldraxxus has forcibly sent Lady Blue Moon's lich spirit into the realm of death."
Sandara called out:
"Quickly! Seal off the energy flow here, don't let the Death Guard enter the material world and take her away!"
"I command the Holy Light to purify this place!"
The release of power from the Holy Oath Lord transformed the Great Library into a realm of holy light in the next instant.
The continuous release of the Great Dispel spells rapidly repelled all other Forces except the Holy Light. Although this would harm Lady Aria Bluemoon's lich body, she had her phylactery well hidden.
For a lich, the physical body is nothing more than something that can be discarded at will.
Soon, the echoing power of the Radiant Force forcibly interrupted the call of the Death Force to Headmistress Blue Moon. Her steady reason returned, and when she saw the Vigilant striding towards her with the unsealed Stone of Sarsien in his hand, Lady Blue Moon gritted her teeth and said to him:
"What exactly is your Dean? Why can a great demon lord command the Force of Death? It stripped me of my power of death with just words. Could it be an 'Eternal One' of death lurking within the Burning Legion?"
"It's not quite, but it's pretty much the same."
Diakum said seriously:
"This is what I want to show you, gentlemen."
Don't think that the demon invasion is just a disaster caused by fel energy. The complexity of the Force conflict hidden behind the Burning Crusade is far beyond your imagination. If you are not willing to unite with the Kaldorei to reorganize the anti-fel army, then even if you escape this calamity, there will be another inescapable hurdle.
Especially you, Lady Blue Moon.
You, along with all the liches and the dead in this world, have been burdened with a mission that you neither understand nor feel. When the time comes, even if you are unwilling, you must dedicate your power to the Force of Death that you embrace.
You, Farondis, and Merri Winterwind are all like that!
The vigilant stared into Dean Blue Moon's eyes and pointed to the students waiting for the results outside the library palace.
He whispered:
"When that day comes, you will become the most terrifying nightmare in the lives of these students you have tried your best to protect! Every gift of death has a price tag on the back, but unfortunately, you and Farondis are used to spending money lavishly and have no habit of looking at the price tags."
Now, you are going to pay the price for your recklessness.
I once told C'Thun that in the struggle for the Force, everyone is a pawn; I can't escape it, and neither can you.”
Lady Blue Moon's cold fingers twitched slightly.
She wanted to rebuke Diakum for his alarmist remarks, but she realized he wasn't trying to scare her.
The “Death Decree” from Sachil nearly stripped her of all her Force powers, and the opponent was a notorious demon lord in the Star Sea. This alone is enough to illustrate the terrifying truth hidden behind the Force crossover.
Tosedrin and Sandara helped Dean Blue Moon to his feet, and then they heard the Guardians' instructions:
"I will exercise the dominance of the victor over the vanquished!"
I request that all senior students of Nassaras College and all faculty and staff except those in logistics prepare for war. The Exodar, the ship of the Lightforged Chapter, will soon come to pick you up and take you to Mount Hyjal. You must join the anti-demonic forces to resist the demonic invasion and do your utmost to crush Cenarius the Defiler's covetousness of Azeroth.
You can join forces with the Quel'dorei expeditionary force!
Kael'thas Sunstrider was the commander of that expeditionary force, and he could also become your commander, or you could coordinate an effective command system.
This is your own internal matter, but I want to see the Highborne's banners flying high on the battlefield!
Dick stroked the Heart of Azeroth ring on his finger, his voice echoing with a kind of multiple sound effect, as if he weren't speaking alone:
"The fact that Nassaras Academy sent faculty and staff to rescue the Green Dragon Queen has been noticed by the World Mother. The Azeroth Star Soul Lord has seen your sincerity, but sincerity alone is not enough!"
If you admit you're wrong, you should correct it.
If you don't want to change, then the next person to appear in front of you won't be me, but Aegwynn.
I suspect she's unlikely to offer you such gentle advice.
Humanity has already given birth to its savior, and the trolls' savior will soon appear as well. Elves, when do you intend to wait?
As he spoke, Diakum handed the unsealed Shal'ien Stone to the Sunwell Ghost, who was faintly visible in the light beside him. Anveena greeted Kael'thas while holding the irregular crystal, and then disappeared into the Holy Light of the Vigilant amidst the scattering of light.
Kai was completely stunned.
Because he seemed to see another version of himself in the world.
They were identical in appearance, height, and even hairstyle. The only difference was that the spirit was wearing a priest's robe and was a woman.
At that moment, even Kael'thas, a prince with perfect manners, couldn't help but conceive a short essay of tens of thousands of words in his mind entitled "Me and My Copy Twin Sisters."
"I'll leave this to you."
Diakum whispered to Kael'thas:
"Take your seniors, juniors and seniors and get ready for the battlefield! The long era of ten thousand years of isolation for Nassaras Magic Academy has come to an end. As the oldest magical heritage, it should adopt a more open attitude and make its voice heard to the world!"
I think Dean Lan Yue and the other deans will agree to this request.
Also, I'm not kidding about that campus of the Mystic Academy. You heard Sachiel's request, and to be honest, I don't know if you guys are panicking, but I was quite panicked after hearing the Shaper's request.
If the next time it comes to Azeroth, it doesn't see the new campus of the Arcane Academy, the culmination of its life's work, established in this world, I reckon you might be in trouble.
The magnificent Sunwell may stop the great demon, but it certainly cannot stop Sakir.
"Uh."
Kael'thas blinked, and in that instant, a brilliant idea flashed through his mind. He pulled Vigilante aside and whispered his thoughts, causing even the usually composed Diakum to reveal a "you're a real genius" expression.
"This is a very difficult matter."
The vigilant stroked his chin and said:
"First you have to convince your father and those stubborn spellcasters in your country. That old man Farondis will definitely agree, but others won't necessarily give up easily."
"I will convince them!"
Kael'thas looked at the Heart of Azeroth ring on the Vigilant's finger and said in a serious tone:
"This is no longer just a problem for Quildore. In this increasingly turbulent time, we must prove our loyalty to Mother World and demonstrate our determination to correct our mistakes."
Of course, this comes with a condition!
The addiction to magic must be cured, so I will devise a plan to reclaim the Tree of Arcandor. If the Arcane Academy wants to leave behind its most perfect legacy in Azeroth, then you must also help!
"There are only a few of us left in the Mystic Academy."
Imira sighed beside her and said:
"At least for now, the only members of the Arcane Academy in the world of Azeroth are the three of us and Commander Diakum, but I've heard that the 'Arcanists' clan is heading to Draenor."
That clan's predecessors were all faculty and students of the Academy of Mysteries. Their current Grand Administrator is Ms. Verara, who is the Administrator of the Academy of Mysteries. I bet they'll be very interested in your proposal.
So, if you're really planning to do something so dangerous, you'd better wait for reinforcements to arrive.
“Yes, I will not act rashly. After all, this concerns the future of Quel'dorei, and I cannot allow my people to be harmed.”
Kael'thas breathed a sigh of relief.
His ideas and plans are still very rough and need to be refined while bringing together stakeholders to work together. With the assistance of the Mystic Academy camp, he has already taken a huge step forward.
Having achieved their "challenge" feat, the four members of the Mystic Academy left just like that. They left quietly, as if they had arrived suddenly, without even planning to visit the Tide Stone hidden in the Nasaras Academy.
"Although Dean Lan Yue, whose Dao Heart has collapsed, has given you a long vacation, you still have to do the homework he assigned you!"
Diakum summoned the legendary Kahe the Abyss, swelling the monstrous fish to a size large enough to carry four people. It leaped and splashed in the shadows of Azsuna, while simultaneously adopting a lecturing tone, earnestly instructing Imira:
"You heard what Sachar asked you before he left: after the heroes of Azeroth have defeated the Defilers, the Shaper and the Conqueror will be the next formidable enemies to face."
So, Imira, you've been wasting over 20,000 years without graduating, you don't want the old headmaster to bring a horde of demons to Azeroth to demand an explanation because of you, do you?
If you really do that, you'll probably become the 'culprit who caused the world to end because of your diploma.' Well, that's a not-so-small but glorious achievement."
"Don't scare her, her face has turned pale."
Saloras patted Diakum's arm. The Vigilant's "intimidation" was so powerful that Imira was now sighing and groaning as she clutched her bottomless magic bag full of "homework".
Aurecis comforted the unlucky senior, saying, "If we can't get the Outstanding Graduate certificate, can't we at least get a regular diploma?"
Dean Lanyue said that as long as the accuracy rate reaches 95% after completing these assignments, you can pass the graduation assessment normally.
It's just that there are a few hundred million test papers.
If you write ten pages a day, it would take about 270 years to finish. Humans certainly won't live that long, but we Eredars are immortal!
So, Imira, we fought our way out of the mountains of corpses and seas of blood in the Great Battle of Argus, so be on your best this time and don't embarrass us!
Just as the academically gifted junior was comforting the academically struggling senior, Saloras took Diakum's hand and asked gently:
“I just noticed that Sachir said he repaid your favor.”
"That was a low-probability event, and I didn't have any hope of bringing it back from the brink of death."
Dick waved his hand and said:
“But I am still very happy that he can appear today as an ‘enlightener’. It proves that Sachir is still the same Sachir, and he has enough rationality to find his former self in the midst of confusion.”
Saloras, titles are very important; they represent how we want to be seen by the world.
Although this small change will not stop Sachiel from leading a horde of demons to try to strangle us in the future, I am still gratified to see a lost soul find its way back home with my insignificant help.
Okay, let's not talk about the 'old dean' anymore.
Let's go check on the Shadow Chasers. Hopefully, Staghelm and the others won't cause anything outrageous here."
------
"You guys are going too far! I only sent you to scout this Vrykul village, not to carry out a massacre here! You bunch of lunatics!"
Vastan Staghelm, the Shadow Hunter, is going crazy.
He stood in the mountains at the edge of Stormheim and Suramar, where the Vrykul villages were littered with corpses. The entire village was filled with bodies, and in the eerie, chilling shadows, something terrifying crawled and devoured everything.
Those suppressed sounds of chewing bones were enough to frighten even the bravest dwarf.
But they couldn't scare General Deer Helmet.
They didn't even dare to approach General Staghelm, because standing beside him was a "warrior insect" nearly four meters tall, covered in black scales.
This is the "factional daemon" that General Staghelm contracted from the Shadowchaser hive, and it is also a "feature" of the Shadowchaser faction.
Every Shadowwalker warlock who walks the path of the twins of light and shadow receives such a gift: depending on their status and contribution within their faction, they can obtain different grades of swarm servants from the Overmind.
The lowest-level worker bees have mediocre combat power, but they can extract flesh and blood from enemies to convert into energy eggs to replenish the Shadowwalker warlock's resources and heal injuries.
The higher-tier Zerglings, Mutalisks, and Hydralisks have slightly higher combat strength, and they have different support abilities based on melee, ambush, and ranged attacks.
The next level up, the Warrior Insect, Gene Stealer, and Assassin Insect, are the highest-level contracted demons currently available to the Shadow Chaser Swarm. These legendary void lifeforms are already incredibly powerful.
The warrior-insect demon beside General Staghelm could easily slaughter a squad of demon guards during a surprise attack.
General Staghelm took good care of it; its four claws were covered with thick, barbed dragon scales, and its thick lower limbs and sickly twisted torso were covered with a biological exoskeleton.
The enhancement of the dragon gene gives it explosive power and terrifying defense. The six insect eyes on both sides of its ferocious head, which resembles a dragonman, have perfect dynamic vision and dark vision, and can lock onto many targets at the same time.
As the leader of the first Shadow Chasers, Staghelm worked perfectly with his insectoid summoned creature.
He even prepared magical weapons specifically for his warrior insects. Although theoretically these creatures could grow dangerous and deadly "biological blades," the Overlord lacked the dominant genes to unlock such exaggeratedly powerful biological weapons.
But for the Shadowwalker warlocks, who are well-versed in the wisdom of the Void, they would never tame just one demon.
When necessary, these creatures can even "form an army on their own," relying on the cooperation of high-level and low-level insects to form a small insect hive, with the Shadowwalker warlock serving as the "hive master insect."
However, once they enter this situation, it means that the Shadow Chasers are in dire straits, and they need to sacrifice their sanity to become part of the Swarm.
The destructive power is indeed astonishing, but the price is the loss of humanity and fusion with the swarm, ultimately disappearing completely from the material world and being summoned to the insect hive in the Sea of No Light.
This is what happened in this Vykul village.
Before General Staghelm, a Landorei elf knelt listlessly amidst a field of corpses, protected by several spiky beetles. Worker bees and gene-stealers, active in the shadows of the village, were carrying out the final "battlefield cleanup."
But Staghelm sent a ten-man squad here, and now only this elf in front of him is left alive.
This horrific situation speaks volumes about what just happened.
"Stay strong, sister!"
General Staghelm crouched down and patted Rondore's blood-stained cheek. This action made several thorn beetles feel threatened, and they bared their teeth and roared at Staghelm. But the next moment, the powerful warrior beetle let out an even more terrifying roar, as if it had some kind of "fear aura," which made these lower-ranking beetles smell the pheromones of their superior and retreat in fear.
This also startled the elven survivor who was tormented by the swarm's will. She blinked, snapping out of her daze, then looked at Staghelm and burst into tears a few seconds later.
"They're dead, General, all their comrades are dead!"
Those Vrykul deceived us; those bastards have all sided with the demons. A Nathrezim set a trap here, and they killed my companions. I was going to die too, but they transferred their lives to me at the last moment.
They bought me time to summon the swarm.
The insects ate them all.
Yes, the Lord told me not to be afraid, and He said that the Lightforged swarm would protect us!
Yes"
While she was crying, the elf's voice suddenly turned sinister, black light flickering in her eyes, and she screamed loudly:
"How dare those fel minions provoke the Shadowchaser Order! I sacrificed my will to the Overmind, and in return, I gained a mighty army! Look, General, my swarm has devoured them! The Vrykul, the demons, and those weak creatures begged for mercy in vain, but I coldly refused them!"
The villains killed my friends, and I offered them up to the void!
Ah, the Lord says He needs a queen.
I failed to be elected; I am not worthy to be queen. But that's alright; I got my revenge.
Demons deserve to die!
The devil's lackeys deserve to die too!
The Void congratulates me on my great achievement, Twilight envelops me as I return to the Swarm, hahaha, I am the hero of the Sea of Lightless, I have not disgraced the Order of the Shadowseekers. Hahaha.”
The laughter turned hoarse, and under General Staghelm's painful gaze, black tears of blood streamed down the face of Rondorei before him. After the false life force brought about by the swarm of insects dissipated, this "life," with at least twelve knife wounds on his body and his heart ripped out for a demonic sacrifice, finally met his belated death.
She died long ago.
But her hatred earned her the opportunity for revenge, a privilege reserved for Shadow Chasers.
"Rest in peace, my sister, every wave of the Sea of Darkness today sings praises to your great deeds."
Staghelm laid the gruesome corpse to rest amidst the blood and flesh, and knelt there to hold a funeral for his brave sister that would never be remembered.
The Shadowwalkers lost ten Rondorei recruits, but the Fel Order lost at least seventy half-demon Vrykul and several times that number of lower-ranking demons.
The casualty ratio was astonishing, even deserving of a major victory.
However, Staghelm really doesn't want to see such "victories" continue.
This is not the victory the Lightforgers hoped for, nor does it align with the doctrine of the twins of light and shadow.
As General Staghelm whispered his prayers, black flames erupted before his eyes, engulfing the mangled flesh and all the tragedies that had unfolded there.
When he left, all that remained behind him was a deserted village burning fiercely, and the swarm of bloodthirsty insects left behind by his companions.
"Go find it! Find that Nathrezim Dreadlord hiding in Stormheim!"
Staghelm raised his hand, suspending a newly hatched dragon on his palm. He stared at the blood-red compound eyes hidden within the creature's black scales and commanded:
"It killed our brothers and sisters in the Shadowwalker Order. It thought we would be afraid, but the Lightforged have never taught us to back down. We will only retaliate in kind! We will offer that damned Dreadlord as a sacrifice to the Lightforged."
This is to console the sacrifice of the deceased; the swarm will feast on flesh and blood, and we can drink our revenge.
Summon all the Shadow Chasers in the vicinity!
Tell them that a grand 'Lightforged Sacrifice' has begun!
As the "Shadow Hunter" raised his finger, a ferocious dragon surged from the shadows into the gloomy sky, and vicious leaping insects roared and pounced on the cold mountains like mercury spilling onto the ground, while the roar of the warrior insects announced the start of the hunt.
The swarm is enraged.
Someone's going to be in trouble.
