Light's Dawn of Azeroth
Chapter 304, Section 61: Tyr's Legacy
Chapter 304, Section 61: Tyr's Legacy
"And so, I ended my life."
“I was shaped into a powerful being. My creator asked me to uphold justice and commanded me to defend order. From the moment I opened my eyes in Azeroth, I knew that it would be my duty and mission to uphold for the rest of my life.”
I sometimes feel out of place with the other brothers in Ulduar.
Especially after the war that crushed the Dark Empire, I prefer wandering the wilderness of the world to staying in those sacred temples.
But unlike Freya, who is keen on taming small animals, I prefer to use my warhammer to protect the world I must protect, not just because my creator requires me to do so, but because I want to do so.
Protecting this world gives me a great sense of accomplishment, and I believe I am doing the right thing.
But dreams eventually end.
I made friends with a group of dragons and fought alongside them against the dangerous Galakrond. I believe they are trustworthy, and although they are the original life forms born from Azeroth, I still believe they can be allies of the Titan Guardians.
They did not disappoint me.
They have been diligently protecting the order that the Pantheon has created for this world, and proudly consider themselves the guardians of that order.
But I let them down!
I concealed those dark things from them.
I did not tell them that the fall of their former leader Galakrond was related to the secret experiments of my brothers, nor did I tell them that the Titans left behind the field of unity of all things to guide the supreme star-soul of Azeroth toward order.
I don't think there's anything wrong with that; order is always a good thing.
Until one day, I felt my unwavering resolve waver, the courage bestowed upon me by Lord Aggramar waning, and when I could no longer contact Odin and Ra, and Ulduar fell into utter silence, I realized it was time to awaken from my dream of order.
Deep within the dungeons of Uldaman, as the dragons listened with complex expressions, Tyr's monologue echoed from the platinum disc.
The guardian's voice was dry and weak, most likely he recorded this memory during his final escape as his last words.
He sighed deeply and said:
"When the desire for control brought by order subsided, I realized what we had done in this world. I dare not judge whether the Pantheon's unified field of all things was right or wrong. I only know that the facilities that were once used to protect the Supreme Star Soul have become the most terrible shackles, and I am powerless to change it."
Because I am also one of the perpetrators.
Loken sent Krahith and Void Fiends to hunt me and my followers—how ridiculous! Former enemies and my mad brothers have joined forces to kill me, this stubborn bone that refuses to yield.
I know that I can no longer uphold order with a clear conscience, nor can I represent justice.
I have disappointed Lord Aggramar.
If you are listening, Alexstrasza, Malygos, Ysera, Neltharion, and Nozdormu, I'm sorry, my friends, I apologize for all the lies I've told you.
It's an honor to work with you all, and I wish you all the best in getting through the upcoming 'dark ages'.
But I will still make my decision here.
I heard Krahith's roar; they've caught up. It's Yogg-Saron's revenge. The Old Gods want to use Loken's madness to reclaim the world that once belonged to them. But they won't succeed!
I am Tyr, a creation of Lord Aggramar. I was born for order and justice, and it is my mission to protect this world!
It's time to fulfill my mission.
The final lingering sound dissipated with a roar of battle cry, and the final blank space represented Tyr's ultimate fate.
The memories stored on the platinum disc have finished playing.
Of course, that's not all. This disc contains all of Tyr's memories from birth to death, and the dragons can only obtain the part about "dragons" by touching it.
It's like a unique storage device that requires the correct "index" to find the data you want.
The four great dragonesses had obtained the evidence they had been searching for. They could doubt the prophet Diakum's descriptions, and even the Star Soul Lord's emotional rebuke, but now this memory projection directly from a Titan Guardian could not be faked.
Tyr's final mental state also determined that he could not have left a false last message.
Tyr, nicknamed "King of Order," derives his power from the "Protector" Aggramar, naturally inheriting the righteous spirit of that "Starsea Inspector." He is the most upright of all the Guardians, which seems to have sealed his tragic fate.
"How should we deal with it?"
Teregosa was at her calmest at this moment.
Perhaps because the blue dragon had followed Diakum long enough to convince herself from a series of clues, she turned to look at the other three while holding the platinum disc.
Chromie shook his head and said:
"Neltharion has fallen, Lord Nozdormu has disappeared into the Time Network, and Lady Ysera has been captured and stripped of her Guardian powers. Now only Alexstrasza and Malygos remain as Dragon Aspects."
This will is for them, and it must be delivered to them.
As for what decisions the Dragon Kings will make after learning the truth, that's beyond our control. And don't forget our current identity: Teregosa.
"Yes, we are no longer the guardian dragons."
Mylinsera touched her lightning-shaped dragon horns. She glanced back at Rheastarssa, the goblin-like red dragon, who was keeping her head down and not saying a word, but one could imagine the turmoil and complex emotions churning within her.
"Looking on the bright side, at least we don't need to hesitate in front of the Star Soul Lord anymore."
Chromie whispered:
"We made the right choice. The Titan Keepers were the ones in the wrong. They deceived the dragons from the very beginning, tricking the world's children into doing evil. Fortunately, Tyr had a conscience and finally persuaded His Majesty Nozdormu to keep the dragons away from the Titan Keepers' conflict. Otherwise, we would have been dragged into that quagmire of arrogance, betrayal, intrigue, and division."
"The fact that the Star Soul Lord did not punish us actually means that she knows that although we have been guarding the dragon for so many years wearing the uniform of a jailer, we have indeed protected the stability of the world. We have worked hard even if we have not made any great contributions."
Teregosa put away the platinum disc and comforted her other sisters, saying:
"Don't worry, as long as the Dragon Kings are determined, they will still be the children of the Star Soul Lord. But I think it's best not to send the Platinum Disc over yet. The dragons have to fight against the demons while also guarding against attacks from the Dragon Soul."
They're already under a lot of pressure. If morale gets unstable at this point, I'm afraid something bad might happen again.
Let's tell them the truth after both of these things have calmed down.
Didn't the Lord of Azeroth also say that?
He will dispel the mist that shrouds the world, and the Dragon Islands hidden within the mist will reappear beyond the world. We can return home, and the Dragon Kings can reflect on the future of dragons in their birthplace.
"And there are those who transform into giant dragons."
Rheastas whispered:
"Those 'relatives' who were imprisoned by the Dragon Kings 20,000 years ago will not calmly shake hands and make peace with us. To be honest, they are the Star Soul Lord's most beloved and loyal children. They do not obey the Titans' order and even dare to risk fighting with us."
Compared to them, we are truly 'rebellious children'.
Ugh, this is a complete mess.
Forget it, let the Dragon Kings worry about such a big matter. I need to find Saint Diakum to reshape my body so that I can become a guardian of the Star Soul like you. I hope I can do more for Him to ask the Lord not to punish my people.
But what do you think? Is Tyr a good guy or a bad guy?
"What a question you're asking."
Chromie swung her staff and tapped Rheastars on the head. Looking around at the ancient dungeon hall, she sighed and said:
"If people in this world could be distinguished by such a simple standard as 'good people' and 'bad people,' there wouldn't be so many tragedies. But one thing is certain: the Dragon Kings were indeed his friends."
Even as he was dying, he still took the time to leave his last words to the Dragon Kings.
Tsk tsk, I believe in friendship again.
------
"You want to extract the remaining Tyr's power from the Silver Hand?"
In the forging hall, Azadas looked at Diakum, the obsidian giant, and said in a hoarse voice:
“I can do it, but I must confirm what you intend to do with Master Tyr’s divine power.”
"To leave behind a legacy."
The Watcher, leaning on his ancient and imposing silver hand warhammer, explained:
"On the one hand, the purity of the Holy Light will make this warhammer a sacred relic of the Holy Light Force, which can be given to the Holy Light Walkers of this world to wield and use. On the other hand, the arcane energy from Tyr can also create a perfect arcane foundation, which can be given to a talented spellcaster, allowing him or her to inherit Tyr's legacy once again."
I will not comment on the actions of the Guardian Tyr; he is a very complex character.
But I believe the power he left behind can be used to protect the world in this dark age.
Azadas nodded.
The explanation from the blue-skinned saint before it pleased it. Although his mind had collapsed, his craftsmanship remained. It took the silver hand and placed it on its massive forging table, peeling away the arcane power within as it spoke:
“This power, once stripped away, must be immediately transferred to a suitable vessel. Tyr’s divine power comes directly from Lord Aggramar, and ordinary vessels cannot withstand this degraded Titan power, so you’d better…” “A vessel? Of course we brought one.”
The Vigilant reached out and took a Titan-forged rune from Lyran, then handed it to Azadas.
The obsidian giant held it in his hand and felt it for a moment, then exclaimed in surprise:
"This is another ancient remains of a protector, personally sculpted by Lord Aggramar? It is a creation of the same caliber as Lord Tyr, no, it is even higher in caliber than Lord Tyr, a Titan guardian entirely sculpted and infused with divine power by Lord Aggramar himself."
This is truly the perfect power vessel!
It seems you came prepared.
But let me remind you, the power of Tyr's master still retains his integrity, and that integrity killed him. It is definitely not something an ordinary mortal can bear. Therefore, you must be very careful when choosing a successor.
Arcane Force's assimilation of the user has the most severe side effects of all Forces.
This requirement is too demanding.
As he spoke, the obsidian giant kept his eyes fixed on Lyran. Under the great traveler's wide-eyed gaze, the impudent fellow sighed and said to Diakum:
"Let me be frank. Although this lady is also a practitioner of arcane power, she is not suitable to inherit the divine power of Master Tyr. Her personality is too lively."
"What do you mean? Are you looking down on me?"
When Lyran heard this, he immediately became furious and rolled up his sleeves to step forward and argue, but Diakum stopped him by reaching out.
They're just telling the truth, why are you so angry?
Moreover, even if Lyran were suitable, Diakum wouldn't allow his adopted daughter to use the twisted power left behind by a twisted guy like Tyr. There are plenty of Titan Guardians in this world; if you really want to choose "trophies," there are plenty of spellcasting Guardians.
Dick thought Leiden or Loken would be good choices, and most importantly, that power was easy to acquire.
Under his gaze, Azadas used the Guardian's secret technique to extract a shimmering ball of arcane energy from the Silver Hand Warhammer and carefully integrated it into the Titan-forged runes at his side. As the arcane interference dissipated, golden, shimmering holy light began to dance on the dusty Silver Hand Warhammer.
This weapon has stepped into pure holy light, and naturally it will radiate that healing glow.
However, Lyland looked around and suddenly realized something. She leaned close to Uncle Diakum and whispered:
"So, although the Guardian Tyr is an arcane creation, he can skillfully use the Holy Light, and he was created by the 'Protector' Aggramar. Doesn't this mean that the Protector Titan was actually a star soul that leaned towards the Holy Light before he was awakened?"
If the Pantheon hadn't interfered, perhaps Aggramar would have become a lesser god of the Holy Light?
"You're only just realizing this?"
Diakum put away the divinely forged rune, glanced at his adopted daughter, and muttered to himself:
"I thought that after you learned about Draenor's past and saw how much Aggramar liked to 'meddle,' you should have realized the deep bond between that guy and the Holy Light. It's rare for other Forces to produce such an upright power owner."
So you're right, the Holy Light was once very close to having a Star Soul of its own.
But it's only a high probability.
The Force is weaker than the Star Soul and tends to favor the Holy Light, but this doesn't mean that He will necessarily choose the Holy Light when He naturally awakens.
"Yes, yes, I always felt that we Holy Light Walkers really liked to meddle in other people's business, like you and me."
Irelia whispered something to herself, but before she could finish, Lyran covered her mouth.
That silly kid, he dares to say anything.
But the Vigilant didn't care about Irelia's opinion. She wasn't wrong, so why were you stopping her?
The Lightwalkers are indeed the most meddlesome guys in this universe, otherwise the Light Legion wouldn't have been born.
This is the truth.
But after seeing Diakum put the Silver Hand back into its weapon case, Azadas asked in confusion:
"Aren't you going to use this divine weapon? This was specially forged by Lord Mimiron for Master Tyr, and it has more potential than the sword you are wearing."
"But Ashbringer is my 'Blade of Morality,' while the morality of the Silver Hand is different from mine. What matters is not what kind of weapon you use, but what kind of ideals you hold in your heart while fighting, just like the tragedy of Tyr losing his own morality and choosing to end his own life."
For us, our own morality is the sharpest sword.
Dick glanced at Aegwynn as she walked out of the dungeon and said:
"Forger Azadas, now that you have decided to go to the Chamber of the Heart with Elonaya to accept the judgment of the Star Soul Lord, what do you plan to do with this army of rocks that you forged in the Uldaman dungeon over 30,000 years?"
Their quantity is astonishing, and their quality is quite good.
Even in my view, they are a force to be reckoned with; it would be a shame to simply shelve them.
“If the Star Soul needs it, I can use this army as His protectors.”
Azadas's heart was shattered, and at this moment he no longer cared about anything.
The Obsidian Giant looked at Diakum and said:
"If you want, you can take it, but these statues are only stone shells, without the infusion of will in the furnace, they cannot become protector warriors with their own will."
"We're eventually going to Ulduar."
Aegwynn stepped forward and said:
"The City of Titans is filled with mad steel creations. I've scouted it before; mortals simply can't break through, and even if they could, they'd suffer horrific casualties. This army was originally forged by you to fight against Loken's corrupted army, so let them make the most of it."
In the future, they will join us on the battlefield of Ulduar; as for their minds...
The Star Soul Lord possesses immense power; the entire world is His body, and these powerful rocks can serve as His fists for protection.
"Well, that's what I mean."
Diakum nodded, then exchanged a glance with Aegwynn, and after exchanging a few words in telepathy, Aegwynn stepped forward, took out the Heart of Azeroth, and said to Azadas, the second most skilled craftsman among the Titan Keepers:
"Can you make such jewelry?"
"I can't make it."
Azadas shook his head:
"This was Lord Mimiron's creation, but he can't make it now because he's gone mad from Loken's persecution. The Heart of Azeroth in your possession is now a rare item."
However, I roughly understand what you want to do. Although I cannot replicate a treasure like the Heart of Azeroth, I can use rocks and minerals to create some downgraded versions of the 'Heart of the World,' as mortals cannot wield the power of the Star Soul.
They need to sacrifice their lives to unleash this primordial energy; it would be more appropriate to give them a weaker artifact.
"Are you willing to do that?"
Aegwynn asked:
"Although you have come to realize the foolish things you did in the first half of your life because of Tyr's death, you are still a true Titan Guardian, and Khaz'goroth created you from his own forge."
Are you willing to betray the will of your creator and offer your skills to the world-soul of Azeroth?
This pointed question silenced Azadas once again.
Until it saw the dragons emerge carrying the platinum disc, it said:
"The Lord Tyr once said that protecting this world was his mission, and he fulfilled his mission, which is also my mission. As for my Creator, He is dead."
I no longer need to endure the painful struggle between the Creator's will and my own mission.
I can easily convince myself.
But I have one request!
The obsidian giant looked at Diakum and Aegwynn and said:
"Lord Tyr's hatred must be avenged! Even if he thinks he is no longer qualified to represent justice, the evil must be punished! I... I have never said such words, but I want Yogg-Saron and 'Mad King' Loken dead!"
Only their deaths can console their spirits.
"you are hopeless."
Dick shrugged and said:
"The Curse of Flesh has also affected you. This is not the emotion a Titan Guardian should have. But since we share the same goal, in the name of the Holy Light, I will make this oath of punishment. In the name of the Void, I will also sever the Thousand Throat Demon's path of devouring the world."
“Then I can certainly convince myself to create more artifacts for you. I need some time. Before I go to the judgment seat, I will do some good for this world.”
Azadas picked up the forging hammer again, but Aegwynn stopped it as it was selecting stones.
The Star Soul Guardian extended his hand to Diakum and said:
"Give me your Heart of Argus."
"Ok?"
Dick looked at Aegwynn in surprise, and the Guardian whispered:
"It is the will of the Lord of Azeroth. From this day forward, you are not only the Lord of Argus's representative, Diakum, but also the 'Honor Guardian' of Azeroth. You have ten fingers, so why wear only one ring?"
