Chapter 242, Section 65. The loyal old Ansu sternly condemns the vulgar blue-skinned saint - [75]
(Bonus chapter for "Huo Zheng Ting Hao" and April Fool's Day [2/3])
"Quack, you bad guy! You're tempting the dim-witted forest spirit to do dangerous things! You're leading this immature little human to make decisions he shouldn't make!"
As he watched as the Father of Everbloom summoned a Primal Thorn Beast, carrying a curious Varian to tour the Forest Elf's war forces, the familiar noisy shouts rang in Diakum's ears.
Before he could even turn around, he felt a black wind blowing around him, lifting him up and carrying him to the towering canopy of the World Tree.
That was the whirlwind that Old Ansu had started, inviting his friends to visit his "new home".
A rather luxurious bird's nest is nestled within this enormous canopy. Although it is mostly decorated with branches and other items, it is clear that the proud pride of the crow people does not allow their demigod to "live in a doghouse."
Therefore, the nest was decorated with various luxurious gold ornaments made by Arakkoa craftsmen, and dazzling Apexis crystals were adorning the area.
This is definitely the most expensive bird's nest in the world.
It's ridiculously big!
Even though Anzu could comfortably lie on it and sunbathe even in her true form, Diakum quickly realized that it was actually a "double nest".
"So, Rukma's resurrection is still a long way off, but you old man have already prepared the 'wedding room'?"
Dick joked:
"Isn't this a bit too hasty?"
"We've only just begun!"
According to the rules of us birds, poor old Anzu still has to search all over the world for beautiful flowers and precious seeds to place in the nest. Lukma loves the sun, so I also have to prepare some things to attract light.
Ideally, you should find some fire-related treasures to heat your nest during the winter.
In short, it was quite tiring.
Ansu, who is still recovering from its injuries, has not yet fully grown its feathers, but it has certainly recovered a lot compared to the disheveled state it was in when it was fried into a roast chicken while saving Diakum.
The lazy god of raptors lay in his nest, while the surrounding canopy was filled with powerful fear ravens and sunburst kali birds singing for Anzu. And you know what? The calls of these birds, big and small, blended together like a symphony.
This old man really knows how to enjoy life! He lives a life of luxury and extravagance!
"Wait! Why did you set up so many storm circles outside your lair?"
When Dick reached the edge of the nest, he saw wind rings of various sizes placed in the surrounding clouds, seemingly to prevent some creatures from getting close.
Under his gaze, a raptor druid transformed into a storm raven almost crossed the wind circle, but was accidentally caught in the wind circle in the last few rings, screaming as it lost its balance and disappeared into the clouds.
The vigilant turned and looked at Ansu with surprise. He said:
"What? Are you just idly testing the flying skills of Azerothian druids? Did you invent your own aerial driving test?"
Ansu blushed and hurriedly flapped his wings to explain:
"Quack, I'm so busy, how could I have time to play this kind of game with a bunch of silly girls from another world?"
They came to visit the World Tree, and as they flew, they saw my lair and wanted to pay homage. But I control the skies of Draenor, and all storms and shadows are my domain. Wouldn't it make me, Anzu, seem incompetent if they saw me so easily?
However, they weren't allowed to fly for nothing.
You know, I am the most just and impartial god!
If they can fly up on their own, I will bestow upon them the powerful 'Fear Raven' flight form to compensate for their pitifully weak raptor form's severely insufficient combat power.
At this point, Old Ansu changed its tone, drawing out its words:
"You still haven't told me what you're planning to do by persuading the forest spirits to plant the World Tree's seed in Azeroth. It can't just be about finding support for the suffering human kingdoms, can it? By the way, you seem to have become as wise and cunning as I have since you came back this time."
"I'm much older than you, can't you show some respect for the elderly?"
Dick rolled his eyes, sat down on the crystal platform beside Ansu's lair, and said:
"The purpose was indeed not pure, but it was not to do bad things."
Draenor cannot understand that the Emerald Dream is a legacy of history. The battle between the Primal Creators and the Colossi destroyed the world system here. According to the rules of Azeroth, Wilderness demigods can hide in the Emerald Dream to heal when they are seriously injured.
Their demigods mostly hide in their dreams, contemplating nature and sleeping soundly. It's you, Rukhmar, and Seta who are abnormal to stay in the material world.
It was precisely because of the lack of vitality from the Emerald Dream that Rukma perished from exhaustion and depletion.
The vigilant glanced at Ansu and said:
"Although you've been pretending, your lifespan is probably coming to an end, isn't it?"
"Croak, nonsense, this god can live for at least several thousand more years."
Ansu gave a stubborn reply, but then rolled her eyes and said:
"So, you plan to use the seed of the World Tree Tayara to connect to the Emerald Dream over there, and then extend the Emerald Dream to Draenor through the connection between the World Tree and the seed? Just so that I can live a few more years?"
"How kind of you!"
"Just consider it my good intentions, and this might not even work out. I'm not a practitioner of the Force of Life, and I don't know much about the Emerald Dreamland, but if it's possible..."
Diakum squinted, and after a moment, he said:
"The Wilderness Demigods, Loa, and Druids can traverse dreams. As long as there is a clear exit, they can cross long distances in a short time within a dream. In other words, if Draenor has a dream exit, then when necessary, the Wilderness Demigods and Druids of Azeroth can also arrive here in a short time."
The Dark Portal cannot be moved, after all.
As the military commander, I must always consider the security of both worlds.
If one day in the future the Burning Legion sees through the alliance between the two worlds and chooses to attack both simultaneously, with this secret passage, we won't be forced into a state of isolation and helplessness.
"You're something else!"
Old Ansu cackled excitedly, exclaiming in admiration:
"What a brilliant scheme to kill three birds with one stone! Humanity has gained reinforcements from the Forest Spirits, who will extend the glory of the World Tree to the other world, while Draenor will have an extra layer of security!"
Quack, Diakum, although you used to be reassuring, Old Ansu still prefers you as you are now.
You've finally learned to use your brain.
"Don't rush to flatter me, Anzu. I discovered some movements by the forces of death during my trip to Azeroth, which I'm sure you'll find interesting."
Dick told old Anzu about the Death Force's activities in Azeroth and Medivh's journey to the Shadowlands with the ancient spirits. This was closely related to Rukhmar's resurrection, so old Anzu listened very attentively.
Upon learning that the Force of Death also plotted to overturn the order of life and death, this demigod of the wilderness was not afraid at all; instead, it excitedly flapped its wings.
It screamed:
"So, if the realm of life and death is overthrown, wouldn't that mean I can lead the Arakkoa thieves into Ardenweald and steal back Rukma's Spirit Seed?"
"It's no use stealing it back!"
"The only way for a Spirit Seed to resurrect a demigod is through the Spirit Seed Garden of the Winter Queen. That's the common rule of life and death; there are no shortcuts. Otherwise, wouldn't the physical universe be in chaos if it were full of demigods like you?"
Dick waved his hand and said:
"I just want to tell you that the current lack of anima in the Kingdom of Death is the work of those behind-the-scenes manipulators. Once we defeat them, the balance between life and death will be restored, and then Rukhmar's resurrection will no longer be just your fantasy."
But this outbreak of the Demonic Plague made me realize that I need to establish an intelligence network in Azeroth.
"Let me be frank, I need you to come with me to Azeroth, where you can use your talent for controlling birds, just like you did in Draenor, and let our eyes see every gust of wind in the world."
"That won't work!"
Ansu shook her head and said:
"Just look at those Cenarion Circle druids. Their raptor forms were also given to them by a wild demigod. The skies of Azeroth belong to that bird demigod named 'Aviana'."
I, Old Ansu, also believe in God; how can I arbitrarily overstep my bounds?
"Pretending! You're just afraid you can't beat Avina and will get beaten up and embarrass yourself, right?"
Diakum voiced old Ansu's concerns, waving his hand and saying:
"Don't worry, although Avina did not perish in the War of the Ancients, she was seriously injured. She has been resting in the Emerald Dream all these years, and her nest was also destroyed in the war. It is said that that matter is related to the final whereabouts of 'Mother Tree Garnier'."
In short, in this era, Aviana probably doesn't have the energy to manage your expansion in the skies of Azeroth.
In fact, she might be hoping you do that.
Although you are a bastard, your arrival will bring new order to the chaotic skies of Azeroth.
As far as I know, the descendants of Avina, the once noble harpies, have fallen into depravity and desperately need a powerful ruler to rebuild order for their lost civilization. You are the father god of the Arakkoa.
Perhaps he could also become the father god of the harpies.”
"Pah! You shameless, filthy blue-skinned creature! I, Ansu, am devoted to Rukma and would never flirt with other female bird demigods."
Ansu spat.
But then it fell silent and said:
“This is a big deal. I need to discuss it with Terokk. My going there means the Arakkoa will have to go too, and I also need to talk to these Raptor Druids. I need to know the specifics of Aviana’s situation.”
We are all birds, with wings given to us by the sky. If it's helpful and beneficial, Old Ansu is willing to be a kind-hearted person.
"Well, I'm just making a suggestion; whether you take it or not is up to you."
Diakum nodded, and then heard the shouts of elven girls coming from the clouds below.
He went closer and saw that it was a flock of storm crows, hidden in the clouds by the wind, cheering on the bravest girl among them.
"Fly faster! Black Crow, your wings are the strongest!"
"Hisari, get out of the way, get out of that wind circle! That cunning circle moves."
"Just a little bit more, fly over there! Keep going!"
The scene was just like cheerleaders cheering, and under the watchful eyes of Diakum and Ansu, the young raptor druid girl bravely chose to plunge headlong into the last wind circle that she couldn't avoid.
Relying on the kinetic energy accumulated during flight, it pierced through the wind circle like a cannonball, and then crashed into Ansu's luxurious bird's nest in a disheveled manner.
Hissali Black Raven was thrown around in a daze.
She shook her head and looked up, and saw Diakum, in his half-giant form, smiling and extending his hand to her, saying:
"Congratulations, Miss Black Raven. You have triumphed over the storm of Draenor and earned the honor of being granted an audience with the Midnight Raven God. Go forth and proudly claim your reward."
"Caw! Anzu will grant you magnificent wings of Draenor!"
The old raven spread its wings and, amidst the cries of the fear ravens, blessed the bewildered Hissali Black Raven by enveloping him in black raven feathers. He was then transformed into the powerful, tyrannical, giant-winged form of the fear raven, capable of manipulating sound waves and shadow hurricanes.
But Miss Black Crow was almost in tears.
As she flapped her wings, which were far too large and difficult to control, she said in a tearful voice:
"I...I didn't mean to say goodbye to Avina's glory! It's just that my sisters said this wind circle challenge is interesting, so I came to give it a try. Demigod from another world, please withdraw your powers."
"But Old Anzu didn't cover your little but cute Storm Raven form either."
The Midnight Raven gracefully preened its feathers with its beak, and said in a teasing tone:
"To arbitrarily erase the blessings of other demigods upon you is an act of provocation! Old Ansu won't make enemies for no reason. You passed through the wind circle, so you should receive the reward. If you feel guilty, then tell me about the raptor demigods on your side."
Black Crow tried it out and found that he could indeed transform into a small and agile Storm Crow, which put his mind at ease.
Faced with the generous inquiry from the otherworldly demigod, this genuine raptor druid began to speak eloquently.
A moment later, old Ansu asked Diakum curiously via telepathy:
"What's with this 'Kangzu'? It's a bird of prey too. Logically, after Avina lost control of the sky, it should have taken over."
"Oh, never mind it. Kangzu is the god of change, and wings and flight are just one of his domains. That guy has some arcane powers and seems to have even ventured into the path of 'fate.' He just sits there like a riddle-maker all day long and doesn't even speak properly."
Dick said blankly:
"In short, if you encounter that riddle-solving owl in the future, just beat it up. Trust me, it deserves a beating."
------
In the blink of an eye, Diakum had spent three days in Draenor.
Varian persuaded the Wood Elves to travel to Stormwind Kingdom to eradicate the plague. The Wood Elves were also determined to bring the tree seeds of Tayara to Azeroth to create a new holy site. Anzu bestowed several powerful Dread Raven forms upon the Druids and decided to go with Dick to Azeroth to see if they could expand the territory of the Arakkoa Empire.
Terok welcomed this and allowed Princess Lacey to accompany the demigod with some Arakkoa.
With Khadgar's help, High Overlord Mar'gok finally figured out the principle behind the "youth version of the Dark Portal," which allowed everyone to return to Azeroth via a portal without having to use the dangerous Scepter of Sargeras.
Now, all that's needed is to obtain the Book of Medivh to begin constructing a larger-scale, permanent Dark Portal.
Margok was very concerned about this plan. Just as Velen and Diakum had predicted, the wizarding leader, who was extremely eager for power, wanted to expand his influence to Azeroth through the Dark Portal.
Especially Medivh's Karazhan Mage Tower!
After Khadgar said there was a magical legacy left by an astral mage there, the Führer was so excited he couldn't sleep all night.
Having witnessed the power of the astral mage firsthand, it dreamed of reaching that level itself. In this respect, Margok indeed possessed the ambition and stubbornness that a qualified spellcaster should have.
Of course, in many cases, this kind of obsession is called "greed".
Everything was going so well that Diakum decided to return to Azeroth ahead of schedule, but on the same day, good news came from beyond the orbit of the planet Draenor.
"The Illidari hunters' raid on the Burning Legion's fleet was a resounding success!"
Archbishop Haruta, waving a communication report in his hand, rushed into the meeting hall where the leaders had just finished their conversation, shouting excitedly:
"The Felhammer has destroyed three demon starships! With the assistance of General Jaid, General Alturis the Victim personally killed the fleet's commander, and the Archdeacon Prince Malchezaar was banished back to the Twisting Nether!"
Chieftain Durotan led the Mag'har warriors in a successful boarding raid. With the help of the Black Pawn's desperate assault, they captured a warship. The remaining demon vanguard, in their haste to escape, had their engines hit, triggering a turbulent current that swept them all into the galactic sea!
A resounding victory, everyone!
The Burning Legion's plot to destroy Draenor by sending a fleet has been thwarted, and the world has won another precious victory! The heroes are on their way back, and they will be back at the Temple of Karabor tonight.
The bishops' council has decided to hold a grand victory celebration and invites you all to participate.
"what?"
Khadgar and Varian were both dumbfounded.
The monk exclaimed in surprise:
"So, the intensity of the war in Draenor has escalated to the level of a space war?"
Who is the 'Black Pawn'?
Varian instinctively sensed that this guy was very powerful, and he asked curiously.
The ogre wizard leader sitting next to him waved his hand dismissively and said:
"Just a warmonger who should have died long ago but survived. No need to worry about him, Your Highness, who is both noble and studious. That fellow tried to atone for his sins by fighting the devil, and we mercifully gave him that opportunity."
"But I knocked him down."
Diakum looked at the contents of the alliance recorded by his "secretary," Nellie, in his hand. He raised his head and said in surprise:
"His half-demon soul was burned, how could he recover to the point of being able to charge into battle in such a short time? I know he is a powerful warrior, but this has exceeded the self-healing ability granted by the Black Wolf God."
"It wasn't the power of the Black Wolf God; the forest elves brought him back. By then, you had already gone to Azeroth, so you're not very clear about what happened next."
Archbishop Akama explained in a low voice:
"It is said that the World Tree Tayara used its roots to entwine him and save him. His heart was shattered by you, and now a seed is replacing his heart in his chest. Therefore, theoretically, he is no longer a simple green-skinned orc."
The forest spirits couldn't explain this situation either.
However, they generally believe that the 'black pawn' is the 'executioner' chosen by hatred before it completely dissipates.
They believed that one day, the 'Black Pawn' would represent the primordial beings of Draenor and plunge the sword of vengeance into Aggramar's chest.
"Is that so?"
Dick raised an eyebrow and said:
"I still have some time tonight, I'll see what's going on with him."
