Chapter 624 The Part on Changing Faces

"Poison Ivy".

Ma Zhaodi carefully examined the Poison Ivy woman bound in the glass—don't misunderstand, it wasn't because she was scantily clad, but mainly because the Poison Ivy woman in this universe was different from the other two universes he had visited.

Or rather, the Poison Ivy characters from the three universes are all subtly different.

Poison Ivy, the youngest of the Laughing Riddles, is about twenty years old. Her skin color is no different from that of an ordinary person, except for her emerald green eyes and a few green leaves in her hair. She usually wears a soft, green bodysuit woven from layers of leaves.

Poison Ivy from the Old Ma Universe is slightly larger. She usually covers herself with a few leaves and doesn't wear clothes at all. Her skin is slightly pale, and her green color is not very obvious. Her usual green impression is all added by the grass and leaves on her body. Moreover, her relationship with Catwoman is quite special.

As for Poison Ivy from the Arkham universe.
"She looks a bit bigger than Poison Ivy from my universe," Ma Zhaodi thought to himself. "She wears less clothing because she is green herself, and photosynthesis is entirely done through her skin, so she doesn't need clothing woven from grass and leaves. She wants to maximize the amount of sunlight her skin can get."

That being said, whatever the reason, her attire was still a bit inappropriate for Jason, and Ma Zhaodi still covered his eyes with her hands.

"What is that? Let me see!" Jason shouted in dissatisfaction.

"It's something that easily confuses your mind and erodes your will," Ma Zhaodi replied with a serious expression. "The impact of this on teenagers is immeasurable."

"how about you?"

“I am a mature adult.” Ma Zhaodi smiled proudly: “I have long since overcome my will with my own desires and learned to follow the way of heaven and my heart.”

"Isn't that just a simple pervert?"

Ma Zhaodi's face darkened.

Inside the glass room, the squad leader in the standoff pressed the intercom button and made a communication.

"Sir, it's Batman. He's here."

The corner camera rotated and locked onto the attic door. The Scarecrow's image was projected onto the large screen, and a deep voice whispered like a nightmare: "You think you can find me here? Batman, you're in for a world of hurt—"

His voice suddenly stopped.

Two almost identical Batmen stood in the doorway, their cold eyes locking onto the scene, behind them dozens of armed mercenary soldiers who had been beaten beyond recognition.

On the street, dark clouds spread out and covered the entire sky. The two bats stood together, and the shadow of fear spread and grew wildly like the night, as if to completely devour Gotham City tonight—even making Scarecrow feel fear and hesitation.

"Two Batmen? One real, one fake? Is this a ruse? No, neither of them looks fake."

"What's going on? Why is this happening? Two Batmen have completely exceeded our expectations—should we cancel the plan?"

"No, no, that guy won't agree."

After a few seconds, the scarecrow's voice finally resumed.

"Two Batmen, two startled birds, is that it?" He feigned composure. "What a pity. In the face of the most genuine fear in one's heart, adding more people is meaningless. No matter what methods you try to use to create a suspenseful atmosphere, there will only be one ending for Batman tonight, and there will only be one ending for this city tonight."

"Look at this room, and you will soon understand what your final fate is."

"His mental fortitude is quite impressive," Ma Zhaodi, who was watching the scene unfold, exclaimed in amazement at Scarecrow's speech: "Although it's too contrived, too performative, and too deliberately pretentious, he still dares to utter such harsh words in front of two Batmen—he's definitely someone to be reckoned with."

The squad leader in the room released Poison Ivy from her restraints and pressed a gun against her head. At this moment, Poison Ivy's face showed an unusually clear look of disgust and murderous intent. No one likes having a gun pointed at their head, especially when the other party is just an insignificant cannon fodder, while she is a notorious supervillain in Gotham.

But she refrained from acting immediately, because at this distance, bullets were indeed much faster than vines.

“Bat Freak, listen up! We’re going to get out of here. If you make any move, her head will explode!” “You’re right.” Poison Ivy’s face showed a mocking look: “But if we all get out, who will Scarecrow use to demonstrate the effects of his new toy to Batman?”

"what?"

The thug was stunned for a moment, and the next second, his eyes subconsciously looked towards the door of the glass cell—the heavy steel door there was not opened.

Hiss--

Puffs of reddish-brown mist billowed from the ventilation vents above the room, and the thugs instantly cried out in despair, "No! No, no, no!"

However, the scarecrow doesn't really care whether a cannon fodder character lives or dies.

Just seconds later, the thug raised his pistol and started firing wildly around the room. When he saw the two Batmen through the bulletproof glass, his expression quickly changed from frenzy to confusion, and then to deep fear.

"Ahhh! No! Don't come any closer!"

He fell to the ground, wildly flailing his limbs and screaming in agony with tears streaming down his face.

boom!
Poison Ivy grabbed his head and slammed it against the glass, physically forcing him to calm down.

"It seems only one of us will make it out of here." She sneered at the thugs on the ground, then turned and walked to the iron gate.

The scarecrow's communication was interrupted at this point.

“I guess he has no reason to open the door for me.” Poison Ivy knocked on the door. “Batman, would you mind opening the door for me?”

Arkham Batman paused for a moment, then actually took out a hacking device and opened the door for her.

"Thank you." Poison Ivy smiled. "What are you still doing here now?"

"Six hundred and sixty-six." Ma Zhaodi chuckled, "No wonder he's a super criminal, he's ruthless when it comes to turning his back on people."

"Why did Scarecrow grab you?" Arkham Batman ignored Poison Ivy and asked directly, "Tell me the reason."

"How heartless! What if I didn't want to say it?"

"Then I'll burn all the plants in Gotham."

Ma Zhaodi watched with considerable envy: "Strength is a virtue. I can only persuade people with inducements, rarely with threats. Batman in the Arkham Universe seems to only use threats, without any inducements whatsoever."

Poison Ivy stopped arguing and seemed to have given in.

"The Penguin, Two-Face, the Riddler, and poor Harley had a meeting, and they invited me along—according to the Scarecrow, if we work together to take you down, Gotham will be ours."

Ma Zhaodi curled his lip, thinking to himself that it was just the same old tune again.

“I told him I wasn’t interested in this kind of thing—and then I was locked in this room.”

Why aren't you afraid of the poison gas?

"Nature always has some natural immunity—and nature will always be the eternal victor."
