Chapter 560 Ryan's World

It was dusk, and the sunlight was both dim and intense.

In the golden light of the setting sun, a smiling old woman saw a young boy off from his house to the main road next to the house. A car had been waiting there for some time, and the door was only opened when the boy was seen.

A woman in her early thirties stepped out of the car. She had beautiful long blonde hair that was slightly wavy. She wore a loose top with a simple light green shirt and skinny jeans over it. Judging from her figure and appearance alone, few people would guess that she was a woman who already had a child.

The woman put her arm around the boy's shoulder and said gently, "School's out, Ryan. Say goodbye to Ms. Mary."

The little boy bore a resemblance to the woman, his beautiful blond hair gleaming in the sunlight. He obediently turned to the old woman and said, "Goodbye, Teacher Mary."

The old woman replied with a smile, "See you tomorrow, Ryan."

After saying goodbye, the woman drove her son across the road. The roadside trees on both sides of the street were incredibly tall, the shortest of which were over ten meters high, with lush, spreading canopies. Ryan in the car was mesmerized as he watched the sunlight filter through the fine leaves, scattering golden spots on the ground.

We passed several suburban houses along the way, scattered sparsely among tall trees, creating a beautiful environment. There were no other cars on the road, so although the road was not wide, the road conditions were excellent.

As the vehicle passed by those houses, the residents who were weeding the wildly overgrown lawn outside the villa seemed to be quite familiar with the mother and son, and even greeted them with smiles.

After a while, both sides of the road were lined with lush trees.

"Ryan, how was school today?" the woman asked. "Did you have a good time?"

"I'm so happy! Ms. Mary praised me for learning so quickly."

"Oh, Ryan is great."

The atmosphere of the mother and son's conversation was quite warm. After walking for a while, Ryan spoke again.

"Mom, can we go to the supermarket? I want to get some snacks."

The woman paused, about to refuse, but when she turned her head, she saw Ryan's light blue eyes looking at her, and they were so similar to her own.

If you don't agree, a look of sadness and frustration will appear in your eyes.

".Fine."

"Great!"

Although we were supposed to be going to a supermarket, the locations were actually quite close. After driving for a few minutes, we passed through a forest road and arrived at a supermarket.

"You're here to buy something too today?"

"Yes."

The supermarket clerk looked up and greeted the woman, then lowered his head to continue watching his show, his attitude lazy and nonchalant—but you can't blame him, the supermarket was empty now, with only shelves full of goods, so he couldn't get busy even if he wanted to.

Ryan didn't see anything wrong with it; sometimes supermarkets are like that, with no one coming at all—in fact, if there are too many people, he doesn't want to come to the supermarket with his mother anymore.

He dislikes being stared at and being disturbed by crowds.

The two spent about five minutes picking out items. People gradually started to enter the supermarket, which was no longer as empty and deserted as before. Although there weren't many people, the sounds of whispered conversations and footsteps made the place feel more lively.

The clerk reluctantly got to work. A few minutes later, Ryan and his mother finished shopping and paid. As they walked from the counter toward the door, he subconsciously looked back and saw that the clerk had picked up his phone again, completely ignoring the customers queuing behind them.

"How rude," thought Ryan, the well-behaved boy.

The two drove back home—this area was even more deserted than the area around their school. Apart from the road in front of their house and their own house, Ryan could see almost nothing but bushes; there wasn't a single other house in sight. But he was still used to it.

He followed his mother into the room and watched her go into the kitchen to start cooking. He then sat down at the table and began to study. His mother and teachers were quite strict with his education, not implementing the happy education that other children his age received, but rather the elite education of the upper class.

Otherwise, there would be no need to hire a private tutor for one-on-one instruction.

But Ryan remained oblivious to this. His life had always been like this since he was a child, and he didn't feel that anything was wrong. In his mind, other children should grow up the same way as him.

In a sense, Ryan wasn't wrong either. His mother let him play wildly in the backyard like other children, and she didn't lack physical education or interest cultivation for him. Ryan's life was by no means boring; it could be described as fulfilling.

Ryan's attention wandered after only a few questions—children love to play, it's in their nature, and the only way to control it is through long-term habits.

Ryan, who hadn't yet gotten used to it, ran straight to the back garden and started running around happily.

"what?"

When Ryan, who was running around aimlessly, looked up at the front door, his eyes flickered, as if he had seen something.

"anyone there?"

"no one."

"Oh"

He ran back to continue playing.

At his doorstep, Ma Zhaodi finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"That doesn't make sense," he thought to himself. "I was in stealth mode, how could that kid have noticed me? He shouldn't have been able to see me."

Unable to come to a conclusion through his contemplation, Ma Zhaodi did not linger there. He simply memorized the location and continued walking along the road.

The phone in his hand was automatically drawing a map based on everything he could see—but the outer edge of the map had already been demarcated.

This is the circle that Ma Zhaodi circled after walking along the outermost high wall—which is also the boundary of this town.

The walls, seven or eight meters high, covered an astonishing area. In addition to ensuring that no one could escape the area by climbing over the walls, sentries and a certain amount of firepower were also placed at the only entrance and exit. To be honest, Ma Zhaodi initially thought that this was some kind of secret military base.

But it takes up too much space.

As Ma Zhaodi ran along the road and gathered more information, he realized that this area was definitely not a military base—in fact, it was large enough to be considered a small town.

Cafes, supermarkets, private schools, libraries, small amusement parks, and various residences are all housed in this area, which is separated from the forest by a high wall. This area can truly be described as small but complete.

The only problem is that there are very few people, extremely few, ridiculously few.

"Small-town level infrastructure and buildings, village-level population. Could there even be a hundred people here?"

Ma Zhaodi was increasingly confused.
"If the first area was Edgar's lover and illegitimate daughter, then what is this area? We haven't seen anyone conducting experiments here."

Ma Zhaodi muttered to herself, suddenly remembering the little boy and his mother she had seen earlier.

"Could it be Edgar's illegitimate son? That old man is sexist and favors sons over daughters?"
