Chapter 400 Frozen Hands!
Chapter 400 Frozen Hands!
The city center is brightly lit at night, and the crowds in the bars party all night long. The dazzling lights of the disco balls and the music that almost shatters the eardrums blur one's senses, while the alcohol in the glass makes one's emotions extremely excited.
However, at this moment, there were no men and women dancing on the dance floor in the bar, only blood and teeth flying everywhere to the frenetic music.
boom!boom!
Clap!
The sounds of fists pounding against flesh filled the air. Glass bottles shattered on people's heads, scattering green shards of glass everywhere. In the chaotic bar, tables and chairs were overturned, and the crowd screamed and cried. Drunk customers and bartenders with ripped suits slapped each other on the ground, while tall, burly bodyguards beat each other until their heads bled, each punch aimed to kill, almost shaking the other's brains out.
Amidst the blood-splattered scene, a man wearing a baseball cap slipped into the crowd and secretly squeezed to the front of the bar, where he fought with the crowd for a few moments before being beaten out of the crowd.
In the midst of the chaos, he was actually very inconspicuous. Without special attention, most people wouldn't even be able to notice his abnormality in the surveillance video.
After the man came out of the bar, he subconsciously glanced back, and the camera clearly captured his face—he had a thin face, a somewhat large nose, and a cunning and fierce look, and he was wearing sunglasses.
Click.
Dr. Wells pressed the pause button.
"According to the computer's facial recognition comparison results, one person appeared in all the video recordings of the fights, and each fight started after he appeared—that is, the person in the picture."
"I checked his identity in the citizen file using his facial image. His name is Roy G. Beavero, nicknamed RGB. He has no criminal record, is currently unemployed, and appears to be colorblind. He is quite fond of art and studied fine arts at Central City University. Unfortunately, his colorblindness seems to be very severe, which caused him to fail to graduate. Roy was expelled for fighting after his father's death."
"Would a normal person go to a bar at midnight wearing sunglasses?" He pointed to the man's clothes and said, "Maybe, but there are very few people like that. Bars are already dark, and wearing sunglasses inside will make your vision even darker."
"If you look closely, you'll notice that when he ran out from behind the bar, the shape of the inside of his clothes was different from before; it was a bit more bulging. Of course, the change wasn't too obvious."
"He showed up at every bar fight?"
"It's not just a bar fight."
Barry's voice suddenly rang out from behind them, holding several files in his hand: "After finding this guy, I went to Joe and asked him to check the files on the recent street fights. We found him on the surveillance footage too, and he was wearing sunglasses as well—I also brought the statements from the people involved in those street fights."
Upon hearing this, Wells asked, "What did you discover?"
"They all said they first saw a red light, and then became quite agitated and wanted to hit someone."
"That's interesting."
“It would be great if we could get the victim’s scan results from when he was in the hospital.” Caitlin said thoughtfully, “I have a guess, but I can’t verify it yet.”
"Why don't you tell me first?"
“These people all exhibit the characteristic of retaining their thoughts but being unable to control their behavior; in other words, their brains are not in control of their bodies.”
"Do you think there's something wrong with the emotional part of their brain that controls bodily behavior?"
"It's highly likely that something went wrong here, which is why they all lost control—considering that red light, the other party may have done this by affecting other people's optic nerves."
“That possibility cannot be ruled out,” Cisco agreed. “He was wearing sunglasses, perhaps because his superpowers caused some obvious changes in his eyes, and he was afraid of being noticed—just like Gibran’s dark circles.”
"Uh, sorry," Shauna asked, looking completely bewildered, "Can someone speak some normal English? I really didn't understand what you were saying."
“In other words, perhaps you can’t make eye contact with him,” Barry simply summarized. “Otherwise, you’ll be affected by his abilities and become like the bull who sees the red cloth.”
Shauna clapped her hands: "Ah, I understand now."
“Although we have some guesses, we still can’t be sure.” Caitlin shook her head. “The clues are still not enough. If we can find more evidence, we might be more certain.”
"Huh? Are we still going to run?"
Barry's face fell. "I've already run back and forth to the police station twice. I'm going to be exhausted if I do it again."
It's clear that without the Speed Force, Barry has a real problem getting going.
"You haven't run enough."
Wells' voice was cold and ruthless, sounding incredibly cruel to Barry: "Caitlyn, take him to the treadmill, prepare some chocolate, and continue to increase the power today. Barry's cells are showing signs of recovery; our method is correct."
Caitlin looked at him with pity as she led the ashen-faced Barry toward the hall entrance.
Just then, a rapid alarm sounded on Cisco's computer, startling everyone. Cisco immediately answered the alarm.
"Attention all officers, a riot and robbery has occurred at a bank located at the intersection of Cunningham and Sam Perry! Nearby officers, proceed immediately to assist! Repeat, located at the intersection of Cunningham and Sam Perry—"
“Oh no!” Upon hearing the alarm’s message, Caitlin’s eyes widened suddenly. She released Barry, turned and ran back to Cisco’s computer: “My money is in that bank!”
Cisco shook his head: "Next time, you should just keep your money at home."
Caitlin sighed.
The group then turned their attention to Xiao Na, who was still fiddling with the two guns in her hands.
"Huh? Why are you all looking at me?"
“Miss Shawna,” Dr. Wells said, “although your boyfriend is not yet out of prison, Roy’s threat is very real right now.”
"We hope you can take action to stop him first—please don't worry, we will never go back on our promise to you."
Cisco ran over and handed Shawna a pair of earphones: "Put these earphones on, and we can communicate with you in real time. Don't worry, you're not fighting alone."
Looking at everyone's eyes, Xiao Na couldn't help but take a deep breath. She had never seen such a scene before, so she was inevitably a little nervous.
“Okay,” she said. “Let’s give it a try.”
