Chapter 370 Erlin's Actions

After seeing the video online, many people came to see Ma Zhaodi. Apart from the people from Star Lab and Barry, who already knew the ins and outs of the matter, others such as Snart, Denton, Liuzi, and the police officers from the police station all came to inquire about his situation, which was quite heartwarming.

"Stop trying to comfort me, you should be in jail."

The three-wheeled vehicle asked, "If you go inside to take refuge, what will happen to me?"

"If you want to enter the system space, I'll put you away. If not, just create a human holographic projection in the driver's seat, take the silly cat, and go to the wallpaper room to wait. If you're lucky, this matter should be resolved in a few days."

"Dumb Cat, what do you think?"

"Boss, is there food in jail, meow?"

"Sorry." Ma Zhaodi chuckled, "I definitely used the excuse of detention and investigation during the first few days I was inside, so cooking was out of the question."

"Boss, I hope you're doing well in jail, meow."

Okay, that's so silly.

A layer of fine, silvery-white particles rose from the body of the three-wheeled vehicle, gathering together like a thin layer of silver quicksand. This quicksand seeped into Ma Zhaodi's sleeve and, after a moment, clung to his skin, gradually blending with his skin tone.

"These nanobots can help you communicate, monitor, or disguise yourself in prison. They can also generate images on your skin. Be careful."

"Don't worry, there aren't many criminals in the detention cell, just some unlucky guys. I'll be out soon."

After the pedestrians projected by the three-wheeled vehicle drove away, Ma Zhaodi and Joe were locked in a detention cell, quietly waiting for Erlin's next move.

It's worth mentioning that Barry made a special trip to the police station two hours later. He had received a call from Joe and, knowing how things had developed, came specifically to explain to Joe in person and then talk to Ma Zhaodi.

"Old Ma, are you alright?"

"I'm okay."

Ma Zhaodi sat on the board bed. There was no one else in his detention cell, so it could be considered a private room. He could talk more freely, as long as he was careful that the walls might be overheard.

"How is she?" Ma Zhaodi asked. "Is she manageable?"

Barry understood immediately and replied, "Her tests are complete, and the situation is as expected. We can help her get a pair of special material gloves so she can return to a normal life."

"That's a good thing—a complete cure, right?"

Barry paused for a moment.

"I'm afraid it's very difficult; current human technology is not capable of doing it."

Ma Zhaodi nodded, indicating that he understood.

"Then what about controlling it? Is that even possible?"

“It seems possible at the moment, but it will take some time.” Barry thought for a moment and then said, “We asked her what she was thinking, and she said that she didn’t plan to work with the lab like I did until it was completely under control. She said it would be better to find a place to live a normal life first.”

"That's not bad either."

“We’re not worried about her right now,” Barry replied. “Although she said she wanted to settle scores with those surgeons, we were able to persuade her otherwise. What we’re most worried about now is you—that guy Erlin has his eye on you.”

“He’s not just targeting me, he’s probably watching my entire day.” Ma Zhaodi rolled his eyes. “He probably doesn’t expect to find any clues from me now, he just wants to get some dirt on me so that it will be easier to find someone to deal with me later.”

"I can just take you out of prison."

"His escape only serves to solidify his guilt."

"Then I'll go find Dr. Wells; he'll definitely have a way to help you." "No need to rush."

However, Barry didn't say anything more and left the police station directly.

Ma Zhaodi sighed. Now he could only hope that Wells could appease Barry for the time being, otherwise the situation would become even more chaotic.

As it turns out, Ma Zhaodi's judgment of Erlin was inaccurate. Or rather, normal people can easily guess Erlin's style of doing things, but they can hardly guess the extent of his actions.

At noon, Ma Zhaodi was still considering how many days he should stay in the station. He didn't expect that Erlin had no intention of letting him stay there for "a few days" at all, or rather, that the general couldn't even endure one day.

He truly doesn't let revenge linger overnight.

At 8 p.m. that evening, Ma Zhaodi heard strange and noisy noises outside, as if a group of people were arguing.

"Go, help me see what's going on."

Hundreds of nanobots, invisible to the naked eye, flew out of his body and quickly arrived in the lobby of the Central City Police Department.

“I’m sorry, General Erlin, but I already said this at noon today that Ma Zhaodi is the subject of our investigation, and you have no right to take him directly from the Central City Police Station.”

"What's your name again? Xin something? Xin De? Inspector Cindy?"

Erlin's annoying voice rang out in the hall: "It doesn't matter, whatever your name is, go explain it to your superiors."

"And that black man from this morning, where did he go—never mind, it doesn't matter, you two go explain to your superiors."

He had only spoken halfway when Singh's phone rang.

Ma Zhaodi couldn't hear what Singh was saying on the phone, only that five minutes later he hung up and said to the others in a low voice, "Bring Old Ma out. Hand him over."

"Boss, what's wrong with you—"

“I need to go home and rest for a while,” Singh said. “Joe too.”

The police station lobby fell into a deathly silence.

A moment later, Erlin spoke again, this time with a strong and energetic voice.

“From this moment forward, I do not recommend that anyone cover up the suspect who is involved in military secrets. I expect you to hand over the Asian man to me within ten minutes.”

Ma Zhaodi could almost hear the contemptuous, smug smile on Erlin's face through the headphones. Although he found it hard to understand why such a person could rise to the rank of general, upon closer reflection, perhaps it was precisely this kind of person who could reach the rank of general.

Half a minute later, a police officer with an extremely grim expression arrived at Ma Zhaodi's detention cell and opened the door for him.

"I'm sorry, but we have no choice but to hand you over to Erlin."

Ma Zhaodi didn't say anything, but simply patted him on the shoulder reassuringly.

The two arrived at the police station lobby one after the other. When Erlin saw Ma Zhaodi, his smile revealed a hidden malice, making him look even more repulsive.

"We meet again, Mr. Criminal. This time, you probably have nowhere to run."

Ma Zhaodi didn't speak, but looked at Erlin with a sympathetic gaze.

“I knew long ago that someone like you wouldn’t listen to reason,” he replied. “Even if I’m completely innocent, even if you can’t produce any evidence, you’ll still find a way to arrest me.”

"Come to think of it, I once saw a mad dog on the street that looked like that too."
