Chapter 94 Mingyue Gets Beaten

Chapter 94 Mingyue Gets Beaten
Upon hearing this, Princess Chang Le's eyes instantly reddened. "Your Highness, you...you really don't believe me?" Her voice was choked with sobs.

Princess Chang Le looked pitiful and aggrieved, which might have aroused the protective instincts of other men. But Zhao Zun remained unmoved and steered the conversation back to Han Lei.

"It's not that I don't trust the princess, but this matter is of great importance. If the princess knows the whereabouts of Miss Han, I hope you can inform me."

Princess Chang Le lowered her head and remained silent. After a long while, she finally raised her head, the panic and grievance in her eyes gone, replaced by a resolute light.

"Your Highness, I swear, I really don't know where Miss Han is."

Looking at Princess Chang Le's determined eyes, Zhao Zun couldn't help but sigh in his heart.

He could understand Princess Chang Le's affection for him. But he couldn't accept her taking her hatred out on Han Lei. However, Princess Chang Le vehemently denied it, and being a member of the royal family, he couldn't do anything to her for the time being without concrete evidence.

Zhao Zun thought for a moment, then said coldly, "Princess, I was just asking around. If you are truly unrelated to this matter, I will not make things difficult for you. I will have someone send you back now."

After speaking, Zhao Zun waved his hand, signaling Princess Chang Le to leave. But Princess Chang Le stood still after getting up, unwilling to move for a long time. She looked at Zhao Zun, her eyes filled with deep affection and reluctance.

"Is there anything else, Princess?" Zhao Zun asked impatiently.

Princess Chang Le bit her lip, finally mustering her courage to say, "Your Highness, I...I love you. I've loved you for many years, can't you even look at me?"

She felt that as a princess of noble status, she had traveled a long way to get here and confessed her feelings so humbly, Zhao Zun should be moved.

To his surprise, Zhao Zun frowned, his voice growing even colder. "I hope the princess will show some self-respect."

Princess Chang Le's face turned pale instantly upon hearing this. Looking at Zhao Zun's cold expression, she felt a sharp pain in her heart.

She bowed slightly, still trying to persuade him further, "Your Highness, Chang Le is with Your Highness..."

Zhao Zun couldn't bear to listen any longer. He stood up abruptly with a cold face and walked straight out, leaving Princess Chang Le standing there dumbfounded, her words abruptly cut off as Zhao Zun left.

Zhao Zun is gone!

He just left like that?

Zhao Zun was the one who said he would host a banquet for her and invited her here, but now he's just abandoning her and leaving like this? What about all her initiative and humility?
Two streams of humiliated tears instantly rolled down Princess Chang Le's cheeks. She felt utterly insulted, as if Zhao Zun was trampling on her lofty dignity.

She stood there, stunned, unable to come to her senses for a long time.

As Zhao Zun passed by Xiao Zhengfei, he gave him a wink, which Xiao Zhengfei understood. After Zhao Zun left the house, he slowly walked up to Princess Chang Le and gestured for her to enter.

"Princess, the Prince has already left. Let me escort you back," Xiao Zhengfei said respectfully.

Princess Chang Le turned to look at Xiao Zhenfei, her eyes filled with resentment and malice.

Princess Chang Le, seething with resentment and having nowhere to vent her anger, was just about to be approached by Xiao Zhengfei, at which point she unleashed a torrent of roars at him.

"Get out! Get out of my way! Who needs you to escort me? This princess can walk by herself."

After yelling, Princess Chang Le turned around, stomped her foot, and stormed out, dragging her extravagantly decorated robes behind her. Her large group of maids and guards, seeing their mistress's fury, quickly lowered their heads and followed behind, none daring to utter a sound. What had I done to deserve this?

Xiao Zhengfei shrugged, sighing inwardly: "Aside from her high and mighty status, Princess Chang Le is really no match for Miss Han in any other way! No wonder the Prince doesn't even want to look at her properly."

Princess Chang Le walked hurriedly, each step seemingly weighing heavily on her heart. Her resentment and unwillingness echoed in the empty courtyard, sounding particularly jarring.

She straightened her back, biting her lip tightly, her eyes reddening as she stubbornly held back her tears. Only after leaving the magistrate's residence and turning the corner of the street did the tears finally stream down her face.

"Somebody come!"

In the shadows beneath the wall, Princess Chang Le suddenly stopped, her eyes filled with resentment and bitterness.

"Princess, what are your orders?" A servant hurriedly and cautiously stepped forward to ask.

"Go, immediately send a message back to the capital. Tell Wei Chengchao that once he's had his fill of Han Lei, he must get rid of that vile woman for me right now. Listen carefully, she must be eliminated!" Princess Chang Le sobbed, her voice filled with rage and gritted teeth as she gave the order.

“Uh…” The guard was taken aback, but seeing his master’s angry face, he dared not say anything more and could only lower his head and reply, “Yes! This servant obeys.”

After speaking, the attendant gave a slight bow, took a few quick steps, and disappeared into the night.

Mingyue, the personal maid of Princess Changle, had served her for a long time and had developed some affection for her. Seeing how much Princess Changle had suffered tonight, she couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

"Princess, please don't be too sad. The King of Cangzhou... he may just not understand your feelings yet." Mingyue thought for a moment before carefully stepping forward to offer her advice.

Unexpectedly, Princess Chang Le slapped Mingyue across the face.

"What do you mean he doesn't understand my feelings? His heart is already completely occupied by that slut. Where is there any room for me? I won't be satisfied until I get rid of that slut. If I can't have Zhao Zun, that slut can forget about having him either."

After saying this, Princess Chang Le closed her eyes in anguish and fell silent. In the darkness, only her heavy breathing, a result of her anger, could be heard.

Mingyue meant well, but was slapped in the face. Knowing Princess Changle's temperament well, Mingyue didn't dare to breathe loudly. She was so frightened that she knelt on the ground with a "thud" and kept apologizing and making amends.

"Princess, please calm down. It was my fault, I know I was wrong."

Mingyue's cheeks burned with pain, but she dared not reach out to touch them. The other maids and guards, seeing this, were also so frightened that they knelt down and begged for forgiveness.

"Princess, please calm down! Princess, please calm down!"

Princess Chang Le usually treats her servants with beatings and scoldings. Today, even her head maid Mingyue, who has served her for many years, was beaten. The heads of these ordinary servants could be lost at any moment.

After a long while, Princess Chang Le finally opened her bloodshot eyes. Perhaps her anger had finally subsided a little, for she looked down at the kneeling maids and servants, snorted, and then stepped into the darkness. The maids and servants then rose with a sigh of relief and followed closely behind.

It wasn't until Princess Chang Le's entourage had gone far away that Xiao Zhengfei's figure suddenly appeared from behind the corner.
