Douluo: Reincarnation of Leosli, punishing the evildoers
Chapter 380 Confused
Zhu Zhuqing also understands that everything she has now is given to her by Leosley. If Blazing Academy really lets her graduate, it will probably not be so easy to deal with.
The Star Luo Empire will not stand idly by.
So Zhu Zhuqing has been having a headache lately, but she still has to bite the bullet and go see Leosley, hoping to get a solution from the Duke.
Leosley helped her a lot, even making her stronger, but she still lingered here, which made her feel a little embarrassed.
Fortunately, neither Leosley nor Siegfried mentioned asking her to go back, otherwise she wouldn't know what to do.
“She’s cultivating,” Sigwen replied gently. “However, Zhu Zhuqing has been somewhat troubled lately and may need your guidance.”
As he spoke, a hint of worry and concern flashed in his eyes.
Her tone held a hint of inquiry and curiosity: "Duke, is Zhu Zhuqing in some kind of trouble?"
Leosley didn't answer directly, but gently patted Siegfried's arm with a gentle smile on his lips.
"Alright, you don't need to worry about me."
Leosley said nothing more, turned around and started to leave.
Hilgewen shifted her gaze from Leosley's retreating figure to the fog-shrouded world on the horizon.
"The Duke."
She spoke softly, her tone tinged with worry and confusion.
Leosley's figure disappeared at the end of the corridor, his footsteps fading into the distance. Siegwen remained standing there, holding the milkshake that exuded an aura of desolation.
A slight smile played on her lips, and a hint of tenderness and anticipation flashed in her eyes: "I hope everything goes well for the Duke."
Leosley returned to his room and looked out at the street.
Outside Tianshui City, a silvery-white lake rippled gently, its surface reflecting the silvery moonlight like a giant mirror.
The distant mountains were shrouded in a thin mist, appearing and disappearing intermittently. The trees on the mountains swayed in the night, as if responding to the ripples on the lake.
The nights in Tiandou City are always so peaceful and beautiful, as if all troubles can be temporarily forgotten in this quiet night.
Zhu Zhuqing stood in the corridor outside the door, her gaze shifting from the window to the street outside.
Since returning from the Soul Master Competition, she has been staying here. Although she has no worries about food or clothing and has the little nurse Lynette to keep her company, she always feels that something is missing.
Zhu Zhuqing stood by the window, her hands resting lightly on the windowsill, her fingertips unconsciously tracing the rough wood grain. A night breeze swept by, bringing a touch of coolness, ruffling her long black hair, the ends brushing against her cheeks, tickling her. She tilted her head slightly, her gaze fixed on the hazy moonlight in the distance, as if searching for something, yet finding nothing.
The room was quiet, save for the faint chirping of insects outside the window, like a silent urging. Her hand tightened, her knuckles turning slightly white, then relaxed. Her shadow, stretched long by the moonlight, was cast on the floor, making her appear somewhat lonely.
Lynette pushed open the door, carrying a plate of sliced fruit, a faint smile on her face. "Sister Zhuqing, I brought you some fruit."
Zhu Zhuqing turned around and forced a smile. "Thank you, please put it on the table."
Lynette placed the plate on the table but didn't leave immediately. "Sister Zhuqing, you've seemed a bit troubled lately. If you need to talk to someone, I'm always here."
Lynette put down the plate and looked at Zhu Zhuqing with gentle eyes.
"Thank you. I just have some things I don't understand and need some time to sort out my thoughts." Zhu Zhuqing sighed softly, turning her gaze back to the window.
“Sometimes, expressing your doubts makes it easier to find answers. You don’t have to carry all the pressure on your own shoulders.” Lynette took a few steps closer, her voice becoming even gentler.
Zhu Zhuqing nodded slightly, her eyes showing a hint of weariness, and said, "You're right, but I don't know how to bring it up. These things... involve too many people, and I don't want to implicate anyone."
A gentle night breeze swept through, dispelling the oppressive atmosphere in the room. Zhu Zhuqing's gaze remained fixed on the view outside the window, as if the dark night sky could offer her answers. Linette stood beside her, the fruit plate in her hand forgotten on the corner of the table, her eyes filled with concern and patience.
Lynette took a few steps closer, her voice even gentler: "Sister Zhuqing, you don't need to bear this alone. No matter what happens, you still have us."
After a moment, she finally spoke slowly, her voice low and hesitant: "Linette, have you ever thought about what the future would be like if we left here?"
Lynette paused for a moment, then smiled and walked to Zhu Zhuqing's side, standing shoulder to shoulder with her. Her gaze was also fixed on the distance, her tone relaxed yet firm: "Who can predict the future? But as long as we do our best in the present and take it one step at a time, we'll eventually find the answer."
Zhu Zhuqing pursed her lips slightly, seemingly not entirely satisfied with her answer.
"Go to sleep, it's getting late, and you have patients to see tomorrow."
Lynette smiled slightly and gently patted Zhu Zhuqing's shoulder: "Sister Zhuqing, don't think too much. There are still many things to do tomorrow."
Zhu Zhuqing nodded, a hint of weariness in her eyes: "You're right, it's time to rest."
The two walked out of the room together. The dim, warm light in the corridor illuminated their faces. Lynette's steps were light, while Zhu Zhuqing's were slightly heavy, as if she were carrying an invisible weight on her shoulders.
As she reached the top of the stairs, Lynette turned back to look at Zhu Zhuqing, her smile still gentle: "Goodnight, Sister Zhuqing."
Zhu Zhuqing forced a smile: "Goodnight, Lynette."
Watching Lynette's figure disappear around the corner of the stairs, Zhu Zhuqing took a deep breath and turned to walk towards her room. A night breeze blew through the corridor, bringing a chill, and her fingers unconsciously clenched, her nails digging deep into her palms.
A night breeze swept through the corridor, lifting Zhu Zhuqing's clothes and bringing a chill. Her fingers clenched tightly, her nails almost piercing the skin of her palms, leaving deep marks. The noise of the street gradually faded away, leaving only the howling wind in her ears, as if mocking her inner struggle.
Zhu Zhuqing's gaze remained fixed on the deep night sky in the distance, a hint of confusion and pain in her eyes. Her shoulders trembled slightly, as if she were suppressing some emotion.
Her face had regained its usual calm, but the trace of fatigue in the corner of her eyes was hard to hide.
Hisewen walked lightly from the other end of the corridor, carrying a steaming cup of beverage in her hand, and called out softly, "Zhuqing, have something to drink before you rest."
Zhu Zhuqing slowly turned around, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes: "Thank you, Miss Xigewen."
She took the cup, her fingertips touching the warm cup wall, the warmth spreading through her fingertips.
Higewen smiled at her, her eyes gentle: "The night is beautiful tonight, isn't it?" (End of Chapter)
