Dedicate loyalty to the good empire
Chapter 8 Chivalry
Chapter 8 Chivalry
Taylor's undeserved reputation grew, and although his team had only had minor conflicts with the cult members, most people believed that he was aware of the problem of the cult's presence in advance.
And bravely dealt with the enemy leader!
After the Free Blade arrived via communication, this decisive female warrior used her knight mecha to wipe out the remaining villages.
The residents were imprisoned in the dungeon and interrogated on a later date.
In fact, it was the first time that Taylor saw such a huge and magnificent scenery.
It was a huge red metal machine that smashed a large number of thatched and brick houses into pieces like an angry beast.
The hurricane it created was enough to suffocate people, and the great power of the empire was also beginning to show its true strength, but the orc clan that could force such a feudal knight family to such a critical situation must be of considerable size.
The proud Freeblade was now taking off her mecha with the help of the Mechanical Priest. Her body was soaked with sweat, but she smiled and said.
"Ha, let those cultists see the power of the God of All Things."
After saying that, she glanced sideways at Taylor.
"Squire, you did a good job this time." Her cheeks flushed slightly, but Taylor was sure that such feelings had nothing to do with the so-called relationship between men and women.
This look was like a wild wolf asking him where the next prey was.
At least recognized? Taylor wasn't sure. At least in his eyes, this woman was no longer considered a human being.
In comparison, perhaps that Slaanesh follower is more adorable. Thinking of this, Taylor subconsciously licked the inside of his mouth.
Actually, this terrible encounter is not so bad...
Fortunately, Freeblade is very busy, which is a good thing for Taylor as he can finally take a break from his busy schedule.
When he arrived at the tavern in the camp, he exchanged a few pieces of imperial military rations, which were unpalatable but extremely rare for the locals, for a few bottles of low-quality Amsett wine and some miscellaneous snacks.
He also tried his best to use patrols and various means to get rid of the bad guys in his team.
He rubbed his hands and began to enjoy the momentary peace with his homemade chopsticks and those cheap wooden plates.
He took off his carapace armor and laser gun, and only carried a tactical dagger and laser pistol, which were hidden in his tactical belt.
With the large number of imperial personnel here due to the war, Taylor was able to wait safely for a while until the food was served.
As a hero and a guy looked down upon by many, Taylor was always being talked about. Some praised him, some insulted him, some doubted him, and some loved him.
But Taylor knew that he just wanted peace, he, Taylor, just wanted a peaceful life.
A few nameless boiled beans and a bottle of distilled liquor diluted with water were enough to fool this imperial hero, and it was unclear whether it was a good thing or a bad thing.
But the eye-catching guy could never calm down. A medieval man in plate armor walked up to Taylor's desk. Even though Taylor had found a remote enough place, he still came over and asked.
"Sergeant Taylor?"
Tyler saw his family crest, a red dragon, a damned member of a feudal dynasty of knights, and he must have seen himself at that pajama meeting.
Taylor nodded weakly, saying nothing.
But he sat down enthusiastically and said, "We all serve the Empire, sir, but I admire you, a foreigner without a mount, yet able to create so many beautiful metaphors."
"Will you fight alongside me? I want to learn something, like how to detect the Empire's enemies as sensitively as you do."
"I can do a lot for this. Even if you are unwilling to teach me, I can ask the Supreme King to lift the punishment and let you return to the Imperial Guard." He chattered incessantly, but in Taylor's eyes, this young man had already been bound to the fledgling and passionate Byte.
Until he saw that Taylor was not interested, then he called the servant to bring a bottle of purple Amsette, which is a wonderful dry red wine.
When the cork was opened and a clear breath sounded, Taylor, who had never eaten anything good in his life, spoke.
"Believe it or not, war and trouble always find people like me."
The young man's interest piqued. "A warrior like you must often find yourself trapped in enemy territory," he asked. "I heard about your encounter with the Genestealers. Those disgusting Tyranids couldn't do anything to you."
He poured Taylor a drink and continued. "So, my Lord, I offer you my respect and friendship."
Taylor took a sip and it was indeed good, but since he had no business visiting for no reason, he naturally asked, "Mr. Knight, what exactly do you want?"
The young man said seriously, "Gong Ji."
"The High King is old."
After just two sentences, Taylor roughly understood the situation. To put it bluntly, the eldest brother of the family was about to die, and they urgently needed a new position. Generally speaking, the knight family ranked members according to age.
In other words, this young man is in competition with the Free Blade he currently serves.
Does he need me to help him create new achievements and achieve steady growth like he did when he eliminated the cultists?
dream!
Taylor is now avoiding those things as much as possible. He will be discharged from the army in four years. As a veteran of the Astra Militarum, he will marry and have children. How could he possibly get involved in such a family struggle?
Taylor cursed. "I'm an outsider, what does it have to do with me?!"
"Encountering a cult is purely a matter of luck. It has nothing to do with good vision. Go back to where you came from!"
The young man, amused by this rebuke, spoke bluntly. "As expected of an Imperial soldier called a Knight, by the Emperor."
"I like you more and more. Can you come to my place and be my chief of staff? I can give you what you can't get in the Imperial Guard."
Taylor was interested. "What is it?"
The young man replied, "Honor, more honor! Although you appeared indifferent to honor in the Senate, I sense that you are a true Imperial warrior who would never refuse the opportunity to defeat the Empire's enemies!"
"I will give you more fighting opportunities than you had in the Imperial Guard. Given your abilities, it will only take a few years for you to become successful!"
Taylor's face turned pale after hearing this. He stood up without saying a word and left quickly, leaving behind the young knight who was regretting whether he had said something wrong.
Taylor looked at the moon and muttered to himself in fear.
"Is it tougher than the Imperial Guard? The average survival time for an Imperial Guard soldier is 15 hours!"
He thought of the Freeblade Lady's creepy smile when she destroyed the village.
Taylor leaned against the empty fence, his clothes soaked with cold sweat.
He cursed to himself.
"The natives of this world are all crazy! War maniacs! I want to go back to Skadi! Cultists and Genestealers are cuter!"
